Ren expected Morgana to talk his ear off the whole ride home but he ended up falling asleep in his bag. Ren walked into Leblanc, the bells ringing when he or a customer step in. Inside there was someone in one of the booths. It was a woman with dark-blue hair wearing punk-rock style clothing enjoying a cup of coffee.
"Stay upstairs while we're open for business," Sojiro explained.
"Okay," Ren nodded and looked toward the woman. She looked from her coffee and acknowledged him.
"Yes?" she wondered.
"Hey, lay off the customers," Sojiro ordered. "Sorry if he was rude, Doctor."
"I don't mind," the 'doctor' replied with a shrug.
"Come on, you're getting in the way," Sojiro told Ren. "Go upstairs," Ren said nothing and started walking toward the steps. As he did, he heard the doctor scoot out of her booth.
"Thanks," she thanked Sojiro. "I'll see you later."
"Come back again," Sojiro nodded as the woman went home for the night as Ren watched her leave. "Phew... That's it for today."
"Is she really a doctor?" Ren questioned.
"Oh, that customer just now?" Sojiro wondered. "She runs the clinic down the street. Rumor has it she gives pretty crappy examinations and sells some weird homemade medicines on top of that. At least, that's what I heard, I haven't been there myself." the older man sighed. "They should really just leave her alone. It's not like she's getting in the way of their lives..."
"True," Ren agreed. "It isn't like she's done anything wrong."
"Like yourself you mean?" Sojiro asked. Before Ren could say anything he felt Morgana shuffle around in his bag. He had woken up from the train ride earlier.
"Hey, are we there yet?" Morgana asked a bit impatiently. Sojiro furrowed his brows at Ren and must've heard the meowing from Ren's bag. Ren thought he would have to explain but Sojiro just sighed and chose to ignore it.
"Well, I've gotta get home and start making dinner..." Sojiro stated.
"Yep," Ren said. "Good night." Ren walked away and made his way up the stairs to avoid questions from Sojiro. Ren felt Morgana shuffling about in his bag once again. He set the bag down on the bed and un-zipped it . "We're here, Morgana."
"Finally," Morgana grinned as he popped his head out the bag. "I can't wait to see what-huh?" Morgana seemed excited at first, but Ren watched the joy drain from his face as he jumped out of the bag and took in the sight of the attic.
"What the..." Morgana cringed. "What is this place!? Is this some kind of abandoned house?"
"It's home," Ren shrugged. "It's an attic above a cafe." Ren heard footsteps approaching and saw Sojiro with that same scowl he usually had. "Uh, surprise?" Ren gestured to Morgana with an awkward chuckle.
"I was wondering why I had meowing..." Sojiro figured. "What did you bring it here for?"
"It doesn't have home," Ren started coming up with a quick story. "The poor thing was abandoned and didn't have nowhere else to go."
"Nowhere, huh?" Sojiro sighed. "Look, this place is a restaurant. Animals are a no-go..." Ren nodded in understanding and was a little afraid he'd have to find somewhere else where Morgana can stay. "Though I guess you might stay on good behavior if you've got a pet to take care of..."
"So, I can keep it?" Ren asked with a smile.
"Fine..." Sojiro grumbled. "But keep it quiet when where open for business. And don't let it roam downstairs or I'll toss it out. Oh, and I'm not gonna take care of it. That's all on you."
"Right," Ren nodded. "You can count on me." with that, Sojiro turned to leave down the stairs.
"Was that the ruler of this place?" Morgana questioned.
"Yeah," Ren replied. "He own's the cafe downstairs."
"He's seemed pretty understanding for someone who keeps you cramped up in this dump," Morgana stated. "Then again, I suppose to normal people I just sound a like a meowing cat." Ren saw Sojiro make his way in the attic with a plate in his hand with some food on it and placed the plate in front of Morgana.
"Seriously... it had to keep calling out in that cute little voice..." Sojiro sighed. Ren had to hold in his chuckle. Sojiro had a soft spot for cats which was quite amusing. Ren wiped the obvious smirk from his face when Sojiro turned to face him.
"Make sure you wash that dish," Sojiro said. "By the way... have you decided on a name?" he was making it seem like he really wanted give Morgana a new name. But he already had a name so Sojiro was about to be disappointed.
"Morgana," Ren stated. "Or 'Mona' for short."
"Morgana?" the older man repeated. "I was hoping I'd get to name it..." he said sadly. Ren was curious what kind of name Sojiro would have wanted to give Morgana, but figured the cat wouldn't want to be called anything else but his own name. Once Sojiro left, Ren heard Morgana snicker behind him.
"Looks like the chief like me better than you," Morgana commented.
"You got me there," Ren agreed twirling a lock of his hair.
"And to be honest, this place is heaven compared to Kamoshida's cells," Morgana added.
"I'm sure any place would be better than there," Ren said.
"Remember how you guys asked me before about what I am?" Morgana asked. "To be honest... I don't remember anything about my birth. I think the Metaverse's distortions made me lose both my memories and my true form."
"Hmm?" Ren hummed. "And you believe that form to be human?"
"It has to be!" Morgana stated with conviction. "I mean, why else would a cat be able to talk like this? There's no other possible explanation. There's no doubt that the distortions were what caused me to lose my real self. I'm sure that once they're purged, I'll finally be able to get that self back. And I have a pretty good idea on how to do it too. That's why I was in the castle in the first place." Morgana turned to the plate of food. "Come to think of it, I didn't get hungry over in that world."
Morgana quickly cleaned the plate. He cleaned himself up and looked at Ren.
"Let me make myself clear: Your taking care of me won't be for nothing." Morgana clarified. "It'll be give and take. Due to my knowledge and dextorous nature, I have a lot of intel on infiltration tools."
"Tools?" Ren wondered. "I take it these 'tools' will help out in our mission to change Kamoshida's heart?" Ren was interested what sort of tools Morgana had in mind for the palace infiltration.
"I can't tell you about them yet," Morgana shook his head. "We need to settle on a deal first. In exchange for you keeping me here, I'll teach you about these tools. How does that sound?"
Morgana's deal was quite reasonable. Ren lets him stay at the cafe with him and in return, he teaches Ren about these 'infiltration tools'. Whatever the tools were, Ren had a feeling they would give him and the others an edge against the shadow's in Kamoshida's castle. Ren smirked as he settled on the deal with Morgana.
"Okay, Morgana," Ren nodded. "We gotta deal."
"Hehehe," Morgana chuckled. "Then it's a deal." Ren felt everything come to a still as he Morgana made their new pact.
Interrogation Room
"Skillful Infiltrations And Escapes To All Manner Of Places," Sae Mentioned. "There's Even The Possibility That You Used Special Tools And Had Someone Who Manufactured Them..."
"I Wouldn't Be Much Of A Phantom Thief If I Didn't Have The Tools For It," Ren Remarked.
"I Take You're Not Going To Tell Me Who Made Them?" Sae Questioned As Ren Averted His Eyes. There's No Way She Would Believe The Infiltration Tools Came From A Talking Cat.
"Answer Me, Ren," Sae Pushed For Answer.
I am thou, thou art I...
thou hast acquired a new vow.
It shall become the wings of rebellion
that breaketh thy chains of captivity.
With the birth of the Magician Persona,
I have obtained the winds of blessing that shall lead to freedom and new power...
Strength: Hiro, Chariot: Ryuji, Lovers: Ann, Magician: Morgana... Ren thought as he listed each of those off. I wonder what the next one I come across will be?
"I'll lecture you about the infiltration tools over time," Morgana mentioned. "By the way, the power you used in the Palace was seriously amazing. The stronger that power gets, the more reliable it'll be as a trump card."
"I guess being able to use other Persona besides only Arsene will come in handy," Ren agreed with a smile as Morgana gave a nod of agreement.
"All right," Morgana said. "I'm gonna stick with you wherever you go from today on. Personas are the strength born from one's heart. Depending what kind of life experience you gain, I bet it'll affect that power as well."
"Really?" Ren asked as he was intrigued in what Morgana has gone to explain to him right now.
"And if you become acquainted with capable people, you might learn various useful skills too," Morgana added. "This is all part of our deal, got it?" Ren had an inkling feeling that Morgana was going to be quite the handful. "I expect great things from you, Ren. Don't let me down, okay?"
"I'll do my best," Ren nodded his head. "So, are you just going to follow me wherever I go?"
"Yeah, that's actually what I had in mind," Morgana stated. "I'll accompany you when you go out. Don't worry, it's free of charge." Ren noticed Morgana's frown. "Getting around in cat form sounds pretty inconvenient, though."
"I suppose you're right," Ren shrugged. "I guess it would be easier to let you sit in my bag while we're out."
"I suppose you're right," Morgana sighed. "I'll just have to deal with being carried in your bag, Ren." Ren pulled out his phone as he heard the message jingle. He wondered who that could've been. Could it be Ryuji? Hiro possibly? But Ren's eyes widened when he saw it was Ann who left him a message.
[Chat IM]
[Ann T.]: Thanks for everything today.
[Ann T.]: You saved me, and I didn't even thank you properly.
When Ren learned Ann came back into Kamoshida's palace, he was pretty worried for her. It shook Ren fearfully that something would happen to her. Ren was glad they managed to reach her in time. Although, he couldn't take all the credit.
[Ren A.]: You should thank Ryuji. Hiro, too...
[Ann T.]: I did a moment ago.
[Ren A.]: You know you did manage to save yourself, right?
Ren referred to when Ann awakened her Persona, Carmen, he heard it was called. It remembered it had the appearance of a dancer of some kind, a gypsy, judging by the style of dress.
[Ann T.]: Yeah, but only because of what you said...
[Ann T.]: I wouldn't have been able to get out of that.
[Ann T.]: It gave me a boost, you know...
[Ann T.]: So, thanks, Ren.
Ren felt a smile tug at his lips. He was happy to help Ann out and now she's helping them in their mission to steal Kamoshida's heart. Ann had more reason to change his heart then Ren and the others, she was doing it for her best friend.
[Ren A.]: Anytime, Ann.
[Ann T.]: I wanted to let you know at least.
[Ann T.]: See you tomorrow.
[Ren A.]: Good night.
"You guys send messages to each other with that thing, right?" Morgana asked as Ren turned from his phone to look at him.
"We do," Ren nodded. "It's how we keep in touch and discuss plans."
"I want in too, so I'm gonna have to ask you to type for me," Morgana suggested.
"Sure, we can do that," Ren smiled. "Probably be too hard to try typing with cat paws." Ren's sent a teasing Morgana's way. The 'honest-to-god human' gave him a hint of a glare.
"Oh, haha..." Morgana laughed sarcastically. "At any rate... Is this really a place for someone to live?"
"Hey, it's dry at least," Ren shrugged. "And I cleaned it when I first got here." Ren started to make his way over to the bed. He sat down with a sigh and rose his arms over his head as he felt the exhaustion from today's mission inside the palace. "We should get some sleep."
"Tomorrow's going to be a busy day," Morgana agreed with a smile. "Keep it together, all right?"
"Yessir," Ren gave a mock salute. He changed out of his school clothes and into his sleepwear. As Ren slipped under the covers to get some shut-eye, he felt a strange weight being added to his body. Ren opened his eyes to find Morgana had curled himself on top of Ren and gone to sleep.
I'm gonna have trouble trying to sleep... Ren thought staring up at the ceiling.

Time of Day: Early Morning
Weather: Sunny
Location: Subway Car
"It may be crowded," Morgana said from Ren's bag. "But it looks like you can still grab a seat if you're lucky..."
Ren managed to find somewhere to sit in the crowded car. Ren found out that if you got a seat there wasn't much to do to keep busy. When standing you're usually hanging onto the hand holder. Morgana seemed to be in agreement with that fact.
"While we're riding the train, we've got some downtime," Morgana figured. "I wonder if we could put it to good use..."
The train came to a stop which allowed Ren and the passengers to get out of the car. Ren walked down the path that leads to the school and found his attention driven to a pair of Shujin girls chatting by the vending machines.
"What's wrong? You don't look so good."
"I haven't been feeling well lately. My head's all foggy, and I have no energy..."
"I've tried every drug at the pharmacy, but nothing works. Do I have some new virus? Is this the onset of a psychotic breakdown? Wh-What should I do? Am I going to die!?"
"Calm down, down! Let's go to the clinic. Come on."
"I'm sure the doctor can prescribe something that'll fix you right up!"
"Doctors have the best medicine, huh..." Morgana stated. "Wasn't there a doctor when we got back to Leblanc last night?"
"According to Sojiro, yeah..." Ren said. "She wasn't really dressed like a doctor. She was dressed in punk clothes."
"That's not what's important here!" Morgana protested. "Though she did have an interesting fashion sense..."
"I was thinking since we'll likely be going back to the palace soon..." Ren mentioned. "She might be able to give us medicine for injuries."
"Exactly!" Morgana agreed. "Once again, you're ahead of everything, Ren. With her help, we'll be able to obtain strong medicine for use." Ren was in agreement with Morgana's idea to get medicine from the doctor in Yongen-Jaya. Ren felt a jab in his shoulder as he turned around to find Ryuji.
"Yo, mornin' Ren," Ryuji said.
"Good Morning, Ryuji," Ren greeted.
"What're you doin' just standin' here?" Ryuji wondered. "Let's head to school together. I mean, it's right there, but whatever."
The school day went by normally. Afternoon classes were currently going on as Mr. Ushimaru, Shujin's 'chalk-thrower' was giving a lecture. Ushimaru seemed to really have it out for Ren due to him having a record. Not that Ren was surprised about that. Ren felt his phone vibrate as he pulled it out as found the message from Ryuji in the group chat that was created in-between Ren, Hiro, Ryuji, and Ann.
[Group Chat IM]
[Ryuji S.]: Hey, we're meeting up at the hideout after school, right?
[Ann T.]: Don't text now. We're in class.
[Yasuhiro I.]: Can't you save what you have to say for later...?
[Ryuji S.]: Whoa! You mean you're actually listening to all this crap?
[Ann T.]: Yeah, but none of it's really sticking today...
[Ryuji S.]: I know, right?
[Yasuhiro I.]: Fine. What's so important right now?
[Ryuji S.]: Let's meet up at the hideout after school.
[Ren A.]: We decided on the school rooftop, right?
[Ann T.]: Wait, we can still go up there?
[Ryuji S.]: Yeah, I'll let you in.
[Yasuhiro I.]: Then I guess the roof is our hideout.
[Ryuji S.]: Sure is, I'll be waiting. Just come on up once school's over.
Once the messages ended, Ren put his phone away and looked up to find Mr. Ushimaru giving him evil eyes.
"Amamiya!" Ushimaru called him. "Pay attention! Is that how you listen when someone's talking to you!?" Ren wasn't ready for the piece of chalk being hurled in his direction. The 'projectile' smacked him in the forehead as it bounced off elsewhere.
"Ooh... That looked like it hurt." said a female student. A male student sitting beside the girl snickered.
"He hit him right in the forehead..."
Ren nursed his head, hoping that it didn't cause a lump to swell. Ren noticed Ann giving him an apologetic look. Ren wondered if she might've been concerned but he gave her a reassuring smirk to show he was alright.
"That's what you get for daydreaming!" Ushimaru exclaimed.
"Understood..." Ren said.
"Kids these days have no respect for their elders," Ushimaru commented as he continued his lecture.
"Good grief..." Morgana whispered. "Looks like you need more Proficiency to completely dodge that."
"Or a bag of ice if I can't..." Ren replied.

Day: Saturday
Time of Day: After School
Weather: Sunny
Location: School rooftop
Once each member of the team got to the roof, they settled wherever seemed comfortable enough. Ryuji took a seat on one of the chairs, Hiro leaned against the HVAC unit, Ren was seated on one of the scattered desks, Ann also sat on a different desk while Morgana sat in between them.
"Okay," Ren nodded as he looked at everyone. "Looks like the gang's all here."
"Mkay, let's get goin'!" Ryuji said.
"Hold on, it's still too early for us to head to the Palace," Morgana interjected.
"But why?" Ryuji questioned. "Don't we gotta steal that Treasure thing?"
"We haven't been through the rest of the Palace yet," Hiro mentioned. "With that in mind, this might be a good time for a bit of prep."
"Right," Morgana nodded.
"Ain't that Persona shit we got enough to deal with it?" Ryuji asked.
"That's exactly what I mean when I say don't underestimate it," Morgana remarked. "You'll die if you mess up in there."
"Yeah, dying in a Palace doesn't sound very good for our health," Ren stated.
"So again, we need to prepare before we head in," Morgana insisted.
"But... how exactly are we supposed to do that?" Ann wondered.
"I'm glad you asked, Lady Ann," Morgana said.
"First, we'll need to find better equipment for all of you," Morgana suggested.
"You're saying the weapons we have now are no good?" Hiro questioned. "I have no problem with that. Now, we just need to find a place where we can get them."
"I gotcha covered," Ryuji smirked. "Oh, I know a kick-ass place!" Hiro frowned as he stared at Ryuji.
"I don't know if I should be impressed or worried that you know where to find such a place," Hiro commented.
"Dude, relax," Ryuji assured. "It's totally fine. Trust me. I bought shit from there already." Ryuji grinned at Ren. "It's where I got Renren's gun."
"Renren...?" Ann wondered giving Ren a curious look. Ren noticed a hint of a smile playing on her lips from his new nickname. Ren's only response was a smirk and a shrug of his shoulders.
"Back on topic..." Morgana spoke up. "In that case, Ryuji, you can handle where we obtain our weapons. The only other thing would be stocking up on medicine. Fatigue is unavoidable in a Palace..."
"And where can we get medicine?" Ann asked.
"Don't worry, I know just the place," Morgana remarked. "I hope you look forward to it, Lady Ann. Now then, Ren and I have some business in Yongen, so let's head off for today!"
"Business...?" Ren questioned with raised brows. Morgana mentioned no such thing to him about any 'business' they had in Yongen. "I'm afraid I don't know what you mean..."
"Just come with me!" Morgana stated. "I won't be able to get close enough by myself!"
Ren and Morgana dispersed from the others for today. Once they reached the streets of Yongen-Jaya, Morgana poked his out of his bag to finally inform Ren about the business they needed to handle in town.
"Hey, remember that customer you met at Leblanc yesterday?" Morgana asked. "The doctor who prescribes medication after a quick examination? She was sitting at the booth..."
"Yeah, I remember," Ren replied. "What about her?"
"If she's the kind of doctor who gets sketchy rumors like that..." Morgana mentioned. "Maybe she'll help us out."
"You think she'll provide us with medicine?" Ren wondered.
"Only one way to find out," Morgana nodded. "She's somewhere in the neighborhood, right? Take me to her." Ren did just that and knew where to go. He found the local clinic in Yongen which happened to be the only clinic in the area. Ren made his way up the steps that lead to the clinic entrance.
"This is the clinic the chief mentioned," Morgana stated. "Now, how can we get them to give us some medicine?"
"I was thinking we should just be honest," Ren figured.
"How do you expect normal people to understand what a Palace is?!" Morgana questioned.
"Then we'll make something then," Ren said. "I am a student, I could just say they're for my exams."
"Well, I guess that's the only choice we have," Morgana frowned. "I suppose that excuse is better than nothing. We'll just have to go for it. Alright, let's step inside." Ren walked into the clinic, and once inside he found himself inside a waiting room for patients. At the waiting room reception desk, was the doctor from Leblanc the other night as she looked up to notice Ren.
"Is this your first visit?" She wondered.
"It sure is," Ren answered.
"Hm?" She hummed while she seemed to take a closer look at Ren. "I feel like I've seen you before..."
"We met at Leblanc," Ren mentioned.
"Hmmm... Well, whatever," the woman shrugged. "So, what are you here for today?" Now came the time for Ren to come up with a reason for actually going to this clinic. Has to be for a good reason since this is the only to get good medicine for their Palace excursion.
"Lately, my body feels sluggish," Ren stated. "I was hoping you could give me medicine to help me focus while studying for my entrance exams." The woman gave him a blank stare and then nodded her head.
"Fine," she said. "Please head to the exam room." Ren sat on the stool as the woman took a seat at the desk in the exam room. The room was exactly what you expect of a doctor's office. Ren went on to describe to the doctor what 'problems' he's been having while she listed them on a clipboard.
"In a case like yours, it's usually just due to stress," the doctor noted. "I'm gonna prescribe you some pain relievers, okay?"
"Okay, sounds good," Ren nodded.
"Actually, I still need to restock those..." she added. "So let's go with sleeping pills instead. Sleep is the best medicine anyway. Which type of pill do you want? A sweet-tasting one or a bitter-tasting one?"
"I was hoping you could give me painkillers," Ren said. Painkillers would prove to be very useful when it came to fighting against shadows. The doctor looked from her clipboard to give Ren a quizzical stare.
"Is that right?" she wondered. "And I bet you think you should have a year-long supply of them, too." Ren blinked realizing the lady doctor had found him out. "You're not sick at all, are you? I'm not as dumb as I look, you know. I'm guessing you're here because you heard the rumors about me, huh?" While walking in town, Ren had heard a bit about the doctor in Yongen-Jaya, including what little Sojiro told him. Ren wasn't going to judge her despite the rumors. Who was he to anyways when he's the cause of rumors at school?
"That's right," Ren declared.
"You're one of those patients with an ulterior motive, huh?" The doctor questioned. "What's the world coming to?" Ren put his head down, avoiding eye contact with her. "I guess high schoolers have it tough nowadays, too, huh? Well, fine. I'll prescribe you some medication."
"You will?!" Ren looked at her wide-eyed, astonished she would agree to. Ren cleared his throat to bring back his usual, calm demeanor. "I mean, I will?"
"But only the medication that will help you recover your health," The woman affirmed. "I guess it's fine. You seem earnest, and you don't look like you'll be any trouble."
"Nope," Ren shook his head. "No trouble at all." Though, Ren was going to be using this medicine to get rid of the wounds he and the others obtain in the palace. But he didn't need to tell the doctor or anyone about that.
"This is my private practice," The doctor said. "All the medicine I dispense is original. I have a license to make my own formulas. You've likely seen them being sold at various hospitals. It's your responsibility to take care of yourself. So if that's okay with you, stop by anytime."
"That'll really help," Ren smiled. "Thank you Doctor-"
"Takemi," she said with a hint of a smile. "Doctor Tae Takemi."
"Thank you, Doctor Takemi," Ren smirked back.
"Great," Takemi said. "It's nice that you're so quick on the uptake... Saves me the hassle."
"Wouldn't want to annoy you," Ren replied. "Since I'll be buying my medicine here from now on." Takemi gave an approving smile, but it faded as she turned away.
"You're a pretty weird kid, you know?" Takemi commented. "I wonder what you're going to use the medicine for..." Ren felt a light sweat on his forehead since he couldn't exactly tell her what he needed it for. "Well, as long as you don't cause me any trouble, it's not my problem..."
"I understand," Ren said.
Ren agreed with Takemi's terms in return for purchasing meds from her. Ren had money he obtained from defeating shadows from the castle, though, he didn't have much. He was to reach into his pocket and check how much cash he had but looked up to find Takemi holding out a small paper bag to him.
"Take that," Takemi nodded. "Just a small sample of medicine I developed. This is the only freeby you get." Ren took the bag from her. He took a glance inside and found it was filled with a fair amount of meds, pills from what Ren could tell. These might help him and the others when exploring the rest of the castle.
"Okay, these'll definitely work," Ren smiled.
"Then good luck with that," Takemi said.
"Right," Ren replied. "Thanks again." Ren tucked the medicine away in his bag and left the office. Once Ren stepped out of the door, he was met with a man standing in the lobby. Ren stepped out of the man's way, letting him get by to walk inside the door. Ren wondered if Takemi was expecting a patient and decided to take his leave until he heard talking from the other end of the door.
"What's the reason for your visit?" Takami questioned. "Do you have a cold? Stomachache? Athlete's foot? Whatever it is, you'll need to take a number..."
"Enough of this!" Ren's eyes widened at the raise of the man's voice. "You're the only one who could have developed that type of medicine."
"I'm afraid I have no idea what you're talking about..." Takemi sighed. It was wrong to eavesdrop and Ren knew this wasn't his business but he couldn't help but overhear the conversation.
"Don't play dumb with me. Rumor has it, it's a drug so potent it can give a person unlimited power."
"Really?" Takemi said. "That's news to me."
"Developing experimental drugs, medicine, and herbal remedies violates all health regulations. Are you attempting to create a super-stimulant? A drug like that will only become a social issue."
"You're really persistent, you know that?" Takemi mentioned. "I'm just a quack..."
"The police may not be taking action, but I imagine the media will soon pick up on it. You intend to ruin my reputation again, huh? You're a disgrace to the medical community." Takemi let out a short gasp once he uttered those words. "What's with the look? That was your mistake, was it not?"
Ren didn't know what they were talking about. It sounded like Takemi must've made a mistake in her career as a doctor before. What did she do that was considered a mistake? It wasn't like Ren could ask her. She might get mad and tell him not to come back here. Ren didn't want that, he needs a place to buy medicine for the infiltration to work. Ren got medicine, and he can leave, but why did he suddenly want to listen to others and their business?
"I won't be responsible for your criminal actions. Dispose of that 'medicine' immediately and resign. The name Tae Takemi will never-Hey, is somebody there?!" Ren took that as his cue to leave and made his way back into Yongen-Jaya, once he left Morgana poked out from Ren's bag.
"Geez, they almost caught us," Morgana said. "Sounded like they were talking about something dangerous. Could that woman be hiding some extra strong medicine...?"
"That seems likely," Ren figured. "We could use that."
"I agree," Morgana nodded. "If it's that strong, it might come in handy at the Palace. All right, let's come back when that man isn't here. We shouldn't involve people who have nothing to do with this. Keep the Phantom Thieves a secret, okay?"
"I know," Ren said.
"Anyway, great work!" Morgana smiled. "That went really well!" Ren heard his phone jingle, it was likely the others messaging him.
[Group Chat IM]
[Ryuji S.]: So you know that store I mentioned, with the model guns?
[Ryuji S.]: It's in Shibuya. I can go with you if you want.
[Ren A.]: Sounds good.
[Ryuji S.]: Sweet.
[Yasuhiro I.]: If you guys want, I'll come with.
[Yasuhiro I.]: I happen to be free tomorrow, too.
[Ryuji S.]: Sure, man. I'm cool with that.
[Ryuji S.]: Welp, let's figure out where to meet.
[Ryuji S.]: You at least know how to get to Shibuya Station, yeah?
[Ren A.]: Yeah, I can figure it out...
[Ren A.]: Will you be joining us, Ann?
[Ann T.]: No, I can't make it. Can I trust you guys to check the place out for me?
[Ryuji S.]: You can't come?
[Ann T.]: Not tomorrow.
[Ann T.]: I made plans to go see Shiho in the hospital.
[Yasuhiro I.]: Understandable.
[Ren A.]: Go see Suzui-san. We'll handle it.
[Ryuji S.]: Yep, don't worry. We got this.
[Ryuji S.]: Well, seeya in Shibuya, Ren, Hiro! I'll be in front of the station!
"We might be able to get our hands on some decent stuff if this store really has model guns," Morgana said. "Well, we can leave that for tomorrow. Let's go home!"
Ren went straight back to Leblanc from the doctors. The cafe was still open, a few customers inside so Ren decided to head straight to the attic. Morgana suggested that he wanted Ren to go to bed since he'll be meeting with Hiro and Ryuji tomorrow to gear up for the infiltration.

Hiro got up early since he was about to meet up with Ren and Ryuji later today. Today's a Sunday, so he's able to wear something other than his school uniform all week. He picked out a few articles of clothing consisting of a white jean jacket, underneath a black sweater, and a fitted pair of blue jeans. Hiro checked his outfit in the mirror, tying on his bandana in its usual place on his neck. He reached for a blue satchel bag he carries whenever he goes out.
Hiro left his room, making his way down the steps. He heard the TV on downstairs and found Hamuko on the couch, eating a bowl of cereal. Hiro found her watching Magical Detective Loveline. She hasn't noticed him yet as the couch faced the front of the television. Hiro made a soft approach to the couch and smirked since Loveline was about to say her famous line.
"'Today, I'm solving this case forreals!'" Hiro recited in sync with the TV. Hamuko nearly jumped out of her skin, nearly choking on cereal. Hiro's smile faded and immediately ran around the couch to rub along her back.
"Sorry about that," Hiro said. "Didn't mean to startle you, Hamuko."
"I-It's fine," Hamuko assured wiping her mouth, she looked at Hiro and took note of his clothes. "Oh, are you going out?"
"Yeah, for a little bit," Hiro nodded. "I'm heading to the city. I'll be back later. Want anything while I'm gone?"
"No, I'm fine," Hamuko shook her head.
"Okay, text me if you do," Hiro said and started walking away. "Alright, I'm off."
"Bro, are you okay?" Hamuko wondered.
"Hmm?" Hiro hummed staring at his sister. "Why do you ask?"
"Remember you were upset about that girl from your school?" Hamuko asked.
"Yeah, of course," Hiro replied. He won't forget what happened that day any time soon considering it wasn't that long ago. But now he, Ren, and the others had another reason to change Kamoshida's heart. For Suzui-san. "I'm okay, Hamuko. Thanks a lot. I appreciate it."
"You're welcome," Hamuko smiled.
"Alright well, I'm off," Hiro said as Hamuko gave him a nod. Hiro pulls on a pair of blue canvas shoes and left out the door.
Hiro adjusted his satchel and walked down the street, making his way to the train station. He boarded the train and managed to find a free seat aboard and listened to music on the way to Shibuya. The train came to a stop as Hiro stepped off the train with other passengers and made his way to the Station Square. He took note of lots of people in the square. News broadcaster speaking into a microphone facing a video camera held by a cameraman, and another man with purple highlights tuning a guitar.
Hiro realized he didn't eat a thing before he left his house and decided to head into Central Street. Figuring he had time to eat before the other two show up. He went to the local crepe shop and bought a strawberry crepe. The sweetness of the desert hit his tastebuds while he munched on the treat. Hiro liked sweets but wasn't overly fond of them.
"Hiro, what's up?"
Hiro, nearly done with his crepe, looked up to find Ryuji who approached him. The blonde wearing a purple hoodie, a black t-shirt with a yellow face design, black pants, and yellow sports shoes. Hiro swallowed what was left of his food and wiped the bit of cream off his face.
"Ryuji, you're here early?" Hiro asked.
"Pretty much, yeah," Ryuji said. "Just thought I'd waste some time at the arcade until we all met up. Dude, were you just eating a crepe?"
"Yeah, what's wrong with that?" Hiro wondered.
"Nothin', I guess," Ryuji shrugged. "You don't really seem like the type to be eating that kinda stuff."
"Sometimes I do," Hiro stated. "But I didn't eat anything before I left, so I thought what the hell. So, we headed to that store you mentioned?"
"For sure," Ryuji replied. "Gotta wait for Ren though. We said we'd meet at the Square. Wanna head to the Square now?"
"Sure," Hiro nodded. With that, he and Ryuji started on their way to the Square. Once they reached the Square, they didn't have to wait for Ren long as they saw him just walking out of the station. Ren's clothing was a black blazer, a white shirt underneath, blue jeans, and a pair of brown shoes. Hiro had to admit, he liked Ren's casual wear on a day off and the black blazer was a nice touch.
"Hey, Ren," Hiro waved.
"Hiro," Ren nodded.
"Looks like you made it," Ryuji grinned. "The shop's on Central Street, so we gotta go through the Crossing to get there!"
"The Crossing?" Ren wondered blinking his eyes.
"Oh, right," Hiro said. "You're not from around here. It's the Shibuya Crossing. It's a big intersection, people use it to cross the street from every direction.
"Once we get past that, we'll pretty much be at Central Street," Ryuji added. "Alright, let's get goin'."
With that, Hiro and the others started on their way to Central Street. In front of a green trailer, there was a middle-aged man in a suit with a green sash across his body giving a speech. There weren't a lot of people listening as the man's words went ignored.
"Everyone, wake up! This country is twisted! While Japanese society may appear to be thriving, many young people have not been as blessed as their elders. They have no jobs, no savings, and no financial security whatsoever. These young people should be tackling their futures head-on, but instead, they're too busy merely trying to survive."
"Eh, people give speeches all the time," Ryuji said. "Plus, politics are pretty boring, anyways."
"Maybe," Ren shrugged. "But he is making pretty good points."
"I agree," Hiro stated. "People around our age struggle when nobody even cares to help out. It's not so different from what we're up to right now with Kamoshida. So, it's up to us to deal with it since people at school turn a blind eye to it all."
"Exactly," Ren nodded.
"Eh, I guess so," Ryuji said as they kept walking to Central Street. They reached the street, more people swarm the now-busy district. Hiro was here earlier but the area seemed to be busier later in the day. "Follow me. The shop can be pretty confusin' to find sometimes." Ryuji walked further ahead of Hiro and Ren, they followed the blonde, walking beside each other.
"Hey, you guys lookin' for a way to make some money?"
Hiro turned to find a sketchy man approaching him and Ren with a grin on his face. Hiro didn't like the way this guy would come up to them and ask if they need money.
"How about it? You guys gotta be students, right? It's a quick easy job. How about it?"
"No thanks," Hiro shook his head. "We're busy at the moment."
"Thanks for the offer, but no," Ren added.
"What's up with you guys?" the man sighed. "Whatever then. Just come by if you change your mind. I'll be here." The man walked away from them while Hiro and Ren watched him leave.
"That guy seemed suspicious," Hiro mentioned. "I've heard there have been rumors about some man asking high-schoolers about wanting a part-time job. No clue what it is though."
"Doesn't sound like a very honest job," Ren commented.
"Hey, this way!" Ryuji hollered waving his hand. Hiro and Ren saw him step into an alley and followed him in it. They found him standing in front of a dark-green shop, a neon sign in bright green that spelled 'untouchable' above the entrance. "This is it. Pretty legit, huh?"
"Okay, now this place is sketchy," Hiro remarked with folded arms.
"I was just about to say that," Ren said pushing up his glasses.
"Right?" Ryuji sighed. "To be honest, it'd be a bit scary to go in alone..."
"We're already here," Hiro commented. "It's too late to back out now..."
"'Suppose you're right," Ryuji grinned. "Anyways, let's check out what's inside." The teens approached the door, Ren being the first to reach for the handle.
"Oh yeah, before we head in..." Ryuji said. "You guys know anything about guns and shit?"
"In all honesty, not a clue," Ren answered.
"Yeah, not much," Hiro shook his head. Hiro only knew a small bit about firearms with his father being a part of the police but still, Hiro knew next to nothing about guns, and Ren and Ryuji were in the same boat.
"I guess we can just ask the guy behind the counter if we can't figure out what we want," Ryuji suggested. "C'mon, let's do this."
Hiro and Ryuji followed Ren inside Untouchable. The moment they stepped inside, Hiro gazed at the different items scattered about the shop. It definitely wasn't a place for kids or a place kids frequent considering the merchandise. More like a place gun enthusiasts would come to if they had an interest in model guns. Hiro felt he and others were definitely out of their element and wondered what his dad would think if he found out he came to a place like this. That thought caused Hiro to almost sweat a little.
Thankfully he doesn't find out... Hiro thought.
At the counter, was a man with light stubble on his face, a grey cap and jacket with a set of, from what Hiro assumed, noise-canceling headphones. He had his feet on the counter while he sat comfortably reading a gun magazine. He didn't even acknowledge their presence, his focus on the magazine.
"You know what you want yet?" the man questioned.
"We were hoping you can tell us," Ren spoke. The man finally looked up. "My friends and I here are new to this place, so we were hoping you can give us some recommendations?" Hiro was pretty impressed Ren was the one to take initiative and start a conversation with the man.
"You lookin' for recommendations?" the man wondered as Ren nodded. "I dunno, just buy whatever looks interestin' to you." he turned away, going back to his magazine.
"Ugh, some customer service..." Ryuji groaned in irritation causing the man to shake his head.
"Fine..." the man sighed. "Whaddya want? An automatic? A revolver?"
"Uh, automatic...?" Ryuji repeated in confusion. "Dude, why're you talkin' about cars now?!"
"Makes a lot of sense why you don't know what he's talking about..." Hiro mentioned. "Firearms aren't allowed in Japan unless you're police or military."
"White hair over there is right," the man said. Hiro furrowed his brows at the man calling him by his hair color. "Listen, this here's an enthusiasts' shop," he stated. "My regulars'll be mad if I let a casual like you hang around," he commented that statement to Ryuji causing the blonde to glare.
"I'm not a freakin' casual!" Ryuji exclaimed angrily. "I bought shit from here like, last week!"
"Huh, can't remember you," the shop owner shook his head.
"You bastard..." Ryuji groaned.
"And you?" the man brought his attention to Ren. "Lookin' for somethin'?"
"A fancy model gun," Ren stated with confidence. "Preferably, something that looks real."
"Oh?" the man smirked. "You guys plannin' a nice big back robbery or somethin'?"
"Th-That ain't it!" Ryuji stammered. "We just like how they look, is all!"
"Yeah," Hiro said folding his arms. "That's it."
"Anyways... you shoulda said before you boys were enthusiasts," the man stated. "I'm always up for helpin' fresh faces." he put away his magazine and sat up straight giving each of them a serious look. "Some precautions first though. Don't go around pointing 'em at other people. Keep 'em in a bag or somethin' if you're outside. Oh, and don't let the fuzz catch wind of you having 'em. I don't need them comin' around here."
"That's alright," Ren mentioned pushing up his glasses. "We hate the cops." Hiro didn't say anything and furrowed his brows at Ren. He imagined Ren was only saying that trying to get on the shop owner's good side. He also hoped Ren didn't despise cops due to what happened to him before.
The shop owner grinned at that. "Imagine that. Me, too. Now if you look close, you'll be able to tell these're models. Real guns feel... different. Maybe someday I'll show you the real good stuff though-if you got the guts for it, of course." He stood up from his seat. "But for now, you get the beginner selection. Just sit tight, I'll bring 'em out." Once he left, Ryuji looked at Hiro and Ren with a big grin.
"Heh, we did it," he said.
"Technically, Ren did it," Hiro stated.
"Eh, it was a team effort," Ren shrugged. "But either way, we got a place to get weapons." This whole thing seemed to get Ryuji all sorts of excited.
"We totally got a go for some fancy shit, right?" Ryuji remarked giddily. "I want 'em to shine! Oh, and here's the cash for mine. Pick me out something good!"
"How about you handle the shopping, Ren," Hiro mentioned as he and Ryuji each gave Ren 5,000 yen for weapons.
"Anything you guys would like?" Ren questioned. Ryuji explains he wants something that allows him to get up "close and personal" with Shadows. "How about you, Hiro?" Hiro needed to think as he never really thought of a weapon that suited him perfectly. Ryuji wanted to get close, so Hiro opted to go for the opposite.
"Maybe something long-range?" Hiro suggested. "Perhaps something with a scope?" Ren gave a nod to Hiro's request once the shop owner came back with multiple options to choose from. Ren picked exactly what Hiro and Ryuji asked for. Ryuji wanted to get close so he got a shotgun. Hiro for his choice got a sniper rifle. He felt it was perfect so that way he can give the others possible cover from a distance. Ren ended up picking something for Ann, too. A sub-machine gun.
"Okay, that should do it," Ren said and looked at the shop owner. "Thanks for your help."
"Sure," he nodded. "Oh, yeah. There's somethin' you should know. I don't buy off any model guns from other people, so keep that in mind. I don't wanna deal with any problems buyin' somethin' that's already been modified. And that's all I gotta say."
"Noted," Ren gave a nod. "Let's go, guys." They left the store and once they left Ryuji put his arms around Hiro and Ren with a big grin.
"Nice!" Ryuji said. "So, what's up? Do you guys wanna head to the arcade?" Both Hiro and Ren move away from Ryuji's arms.
"Not today," Ren shook his head. "I think I'll head back home. Plus we need to stay focused if we're gonna take down Kamoshida."
"Suppose you're right," Ryuji agreed with folded arms. "That bastard's goin' down no matter what."
"Won't know what hit him," Hiro said. "Okay, see you guys tomorrow."

Ren returned to Leblanc and it was as empty as usual but he was used to it. When walking inside he found one of Sakura's regulars in the middle booth drinking a cup of coffee.
"Hey Boss, did you hear?" asked the customer. "Apparently that subway driver from the accident was acting really odd during his testimony hearing."
"You talking about that psychotic whatever people're going on about?" Sojiro questioned but didn't seem the least bit interested.
"Yeah, I heard it completely alters your personality," the customer explained. "The news is saying the driver couldn't even speak when they tried asking him questions." Sojiro nearly scoffed and narrowed a brow in disapproval.
"Only an idiot would believe a preposterous story like that," Sojiro commented. Ren had to agree with his caretaker. People take psychotic breakdowns too lightly and the recent accident ended up killing a ton of people. But rumors as well as the TV news could make people believe anything. "Oh and sorry, but we're closing soon."
"Hmph, how rude," the customer huffed. "This must be why you don't get many customers. Your coffee's actually not half bad. But the beans must be lamenting the sorry state of this store..."
"Thanks for stopping in," Sojiro said with a bit of annoyance in his voice. "Please come again."
"I'm only trying to help you fix your business," stated the customer. "Thanks for the coffee, at least." the customer left the store as Sojiro let out a tired sigh.
"Sheesh, what a pain," he said until he noticed Ren standing about and having watched that whole scene. "What do you want? If you're bored, go wash some dishes or something."
"You sure that was okay?" Ren wondered. "You might've lost a customer just now when speaking to them like that?" Ren didn't mean to make it sound like he's giving the older man a critique on how to run his shop.
"Doesn't concern you," Sojiro told him and then shrugged. "It's all good as long as the shop doesn't fail. I'm not gonna go wearing a fake smile."
"I see," Ren stated. "So, is that motto of yours?"
"No, it's nothing like that," Sojiro said. "As long as I'm here, the world leaves me be. No annoyances or troublesome people to deal with. It's like my own personal hideaway. I'd be kinda screwed if I lost it, but I guess you would be too."
"Yeah, I would be," Ren agreed with a nod.
"So, you better at least try and be useful around here," Sojiro stated.
"Of course," Ren replied.
"Anyway, I'm leaving now," Sojiro mentioned while taking off his apron. "Don't cause any trouble."
"Okay, good night," Ren said as Sojiro only gave a nod. Ren started his way up to the attic, putting his bag down which allowed Morgana to leap out of it. He heard his phone ring in his pocket and took it out to find a message from Ann.
[Chat IM]
[Ann T.]: So, I went to see Shiho in the hospital...
[Ren A.]: How was she?
[Ann T.]: Her condition is stable.
[Ann T.]: They don't know when she'll regain consciousness though.
[Ren A.]: I'm sure she'll be OK, Ann.
[Ann T.]: Yeah.
[Ann T.]: She'll get better, I know it.
[Ann T.]: I just need to believe in her.
[Ann T.]: But... I'll never forgive Kamoshida. He's going to pay for what he did, no matter what.
[Ren A.]: He will, Ann. He will...
Ren could Ann was very worried about her friend. He was glad he could at least be there for Ann. He agreed with her that Kamoshida is going to get what was coming to him after what he had done to Shiho.
"Morgana?" Ren called to the 'cat'. "Is there anything we need to do for preparation before going into the palace?"
"Well, we're just about ready to head back into it," Morgana stated. "We just need to assemble some infiltration tools. Clean off that desk back there so we can use it." Ren approached the desk in the corner of the attic and had begun clearing off all the items that covered it. Once cleared it seemed like the perfect spot for crafting those tools Morgana mentioned. "Great, now you can make things whenever you want! Try to make some now!"
Ren sat at the desk with Morgana there to assist him in making the tools. The first of the tools to be made was a lockpick. Morgana provided the materials for one to be made. Morgana went on to say that Ren's first attempt might be a bit clumsy but not to worry so much if he fails. With some of Morgana's assistance, Ren was able to craft at least one lockpick. Ren supposed it was better than having one.
"How this?" Ren showed the tool to Morgana.
"Great!" Morgana smiled. "We should be able to use this. We should be ready now. We're heading into the palace tomorrow. Let's get some sleep.

Day: Monday
Time of Day: Early Morning
Weather: Sunny
Hiro was headed to school and making his way down the pathway toward the school. It was hard to believe that it could become a castle with only an app and a few words. But the very reason for that happening was right in front of the gate. Kamoshida stood by the entrance ushering students in and telling them to get to class. The moment Hiro made eye contact with the man, Hiro stopped in his tracks. Neither of them said anything until Kamoshida was about to speak. He never had the chance when Hiro felt someone take him by the arm and turned only to notice Makoto at his side.
"Good Morning, Hiro," Makoto greeted. "What are you doing out here? We need to hurry to class or we'll be late." she turned to Kamoshda with a smile. "Good morning, Mr. Kamoshida." the teacher's mouth went into a grin.
"Good morning, Niijima-san," Kamoshida said. "That's right, you should get Isamashi to class. It wouldn't be good for him to be late. With what happened a few days ago."
"Of course, sir," Makoto returned the smile. "We'll go right away. Come on, Hiro." Makoto pulled Hiro along by his arm. Hiro gave Kamoshida another brief glare walking past him. Makoto led Hiro to their classroom but they didn't go inside.
"I guess I should thank you," Hiro spoke. Once he said that Makoto pulled him to one of the archways with stairs that led to the upper floors.
"Hiro, is it true?" Makoto asked.
"What?" Hiro wondered. "Is what true?" Makoto folded her arms, she averted her eyes to the side.
"You being expelled?" Makoto questioned. Hiro's eyes widened. Of course, she heard about this. Ann mentioned everyone was talking about it and at this school, word travels fast. He didn't know if she was angry with him or worried or perhaps both but he had to be honest. Especially with her.
"Yeah, it's true," Hiro admitted. "Look, even if it happens, I want you to forget about me." Makoto let out a quiet gasp. "Forget about us being friends, Makoto. I don't want to drag you down because of me being expelled. Look, I'm sorry and I..." Hiro lets out a sigh. "I guess that's not good enough-"
"Stop," Makoto said. Hiro looked at her giving him a stern expression. "Stop talking like this, Hiro. Look, even if you are to be expelled, I swear I'll do everything I can to prevent it." Hiro was relieved Makoto would try to help him even knowing he was going to be expelled.
"Really?" Hiro questioned. "You'd do all that for me? I'm honestly stunned. I kinda thought you'd start avoiding me altogether even knowing that news."
"Are you kidding?" Makoto smiled. "What kind of friend would I be if I turned my back on you?" Hiro was glad he had a friend like Makoto, not that he wanted to take advantage of her position as council president.
"Actually, you might not need to worry," Hiro assured causing Makoto to blink in confusion.
"Oh?" she wondered. "Why's that?" A part of Hiro wanted to mention the plan he and the others had but felt it was a bad idea since there was no way she'd believe him about the Metaverse.
"Look, it's tough to explain but..." Hiro sighed. "But you'll just have to trust me?" Hiro thought he was asking for too much from Makoto but he couldn't go into too much detail. Maybe someday he can but today wasn't that day.
"Okay, I trust you, Hiro," Makoto gave out a sigh. "Just let me know how I can help." Hiro took Makoto by the shoulders causing her to jump in surprise.
"Thank you, Mako," Hiro said with a smile. "Really, thank you."
"Don't mention it," Makoto returned the smile. A pair of Shujin girls walking happened to see them. Both Hiro and Makoto turned to the girls, overhearing what they had said.
"Are the president and Isamashi about to make out?"
"Were the rumors about them going out true then?"
"Suppose Miss Prez has a thing for bad boys since Isamashi is going to be expelled?"
"I don't think they're going to make it work if he does?"
The girls left down the hall leaving Hiro and Makoto watching after them. Hiro looked at Makoto and found he was pretty close to her, with his hands on her shoulders and whatnot. Hiro felt his face flush and quickly released her, he turned his head with a clear of his throat.
"Sorry," Hiro said fiddling with his scarf in a nervous way.
"I-It's fine," Makoto stammered clearing her throat. "I'm fine. Nothing to worry about." Hiro looked at her from his peripheral. She seemed to become flustered herself even though she was avoiding eye contact with him. "C'mon, let's head to class now." Makoto started walking on ahead. Hiro didn't move right away and only stared at her as Makoto turned around to gaze at him. "Well, are you coming?"
Hiro realized he had been in a trance staring at Makoto. He shook his head from his current thoughts. Hiro didn't view Makoto the way students view them together. That was just the students spreading their gossip and as Hiro always does, he'll ignore them.
"Yep, coming," Hiro smiled and followed along to their classroom. Hiro hoped he, Ren, and the others can pull off the plan and steal Kamoshida's desires. If they don't then Kamoshida will just continue going on believing he can do whatever he wants with no consequences.
Hiro swears they will change Kamoshida's heart, no matter what. For the volleyball team, the people that have been harassed and abused, and Suzui.
Wow, it's been quite a long time since the last time. But I'm just here to let you know I'm still doing this story, it's not dead just slowly updated. Other than working at my job I still try to find time to write. Plus, I recently started playing P5 Royal again on my Xbox Series S. Another reason, for this is I'm also pretty excited that Persona 4 Golden and Persona 3 portable are coming to consoles.
I know it's been quite a while but I hope you enjoyed this chapter. Next chapter, we're definitely gonna have some action, and that I can promise you since that one is nearly done, too.
I'll see you next time!
Later!
