Hakkai washed the dishes. Gojyo dried them. Sometimes they talked. Sometimes there was companionable silence.
Gojyo gambled to earn the grocery money. Hakkai disapproved, but Gojyo was good at it. Hakkai shopped and cooked their meals. Gojyo approved because Hakkai was good at it.
Gojyo watched Hakkai's back, even though Hakkai could take care of himself. Hakkai healed Gojyo's wounds, even though Gojyo was used to pain.
Gojyo woke Hakkai from his nightmares. Hakkai did the same for Gojyo.
Hakkai would follow Gojyo to Hell. Gojyo tried to be a better man so he wouldn't drag Hakkai down with him.
