CHAPTER 17: My Name is Kishi
Multiple screens brightly shined brightly, flickering in the darkness of the room. The calloused hand of All for One rested on his seat as he watched the television with an eerie interest.
"So this is the boy who was hidden…" He clasped his hands together as he stared at Midoriya on the screen. "Kurogiri said that the hero known as RegNinja had protected you… Was it because of this power that you wield?" The ancient man pressed a red button on his seat. "Dr. Tsubasa, prepare the Nomu for accepting additional DNA."
RegNinja stretched and let out a sigh as he watched Midoriya cross the finish line. This was going to be a slaughter. Midoriya had broken the school's record for the race, beating the All-Might record several times over. He rolled his eyes as the crowd roared. They had no idea what they were witnessing. It was exciting, sure, but this kind of Quirk was insane. The teacher was glad that Midoriya had the heart for heroics, but his Quirk could so easily be abused. No one could truly stop him. The Quirk Singularity. He looked around the stadium, seeing a short, green woman crying her eyes out. RegNinja smiled. No doubt that she was Izuku's mother. Emerald eyes and leaf-green hair. Her smile imitated her son's. Wide and genuine. He wished he could still smile like that. He stepped over, seeing how much she was crying.
"Miss, are you alright?" RegNinja tried to sound comforting.
"O-Oh, yes!" She cried, rubbing her eyes. "My son has just—I'm so very proud of him and—I never—" She pulled her hands away from her eyes, freezing at the sight of the pro-hero.
"I'm sure he knows how you feel." He gave a smile, hoping she would start moving again. Midoriya was never this anxious. "Sorry for scaring you," He said, stepping backward. "I know I don't look friendly."
Ms. Midoriya shook her head, as if fighting off something. "No! I apologize–I didn't expect to see you here, Mister…" Her voice trailed off.
"My Hero Name is RegNinja, but you can call me Kishi… it's the closest thing I have to a Japanese name. I'm American, but I'd rather not get into details."
"Oh, you're American?" The woman asked, "I remember Izuku talking about you." Her eyes grew. "You protected the students during that terrible USJ attack! Thank you so much."
"It's my job, Mrs. Midoriya."
"Please, call me Inko!" She laughed, grinning. "Would you like to sit with me? I noticed that you were just standing around earlier."
Kishi smiled. "I'd be glad to. It'll be interesting see how Izuku works around this next event."
