Chapter 13 Emergency plan

The stewards were really everywhere. There were as many as three patrols in one selected large area on Axiom. Wall-e and Eve were currently hiding in the clean towel warehouse.

''Ehh... And what are we going to do now?'' - Eve said worriedly ''We lost the plant, Auto took over Axiom and now all these guards are trying to find us and eliminate. This is some kind of nightmare.''

Saddened, she leaned against the wall looking at Wall-e, who was also standing and pondering. '' Wall-e, I'm sorry for all the problems.'' Wall-e raised his head, when she turned to him. ''It is not your fault Eve. It is Auto who is responsible for all this. He is the one who took the plant out of your container and to that his helper took it.''

However, Eve thought otherwise and looked at the floor. Wall-e decided to comfort her in yet another way. He lifted his goggles up and gently touched her face, this time without a glove. Eve was surprised by this gesture of his.

''You know, I feel a little silly doing this in such a situation but I... fell in love with you. I'm sorry to say this now but if something happens to me or you then...''

''Wall-e'' - Eve said a little quieter surprised with a blush on her face. She didn't expect Wall-e to say that he loved her. In fact, she also had feelings for him, but she didn't want to say it before in front of Moe.

Eve was stroking his hand gently near her face and with her other hand touched his face smiling. They smiled and slowly brought their faces closer and closer until their lips joined in a sincere kiss. The kiss made both Eve and Wall-e's faces red. They didn't expect to do it, especially Wall-e, who wanted it very much.

''Hm, what?''

''I wants to show you something'' - said Wall-e and reached his hand into the pocket of the suit and the moment when Eve saw what he was holding, she screamed in surprise and joy but quickly covered her mouth with her hands. In the hand of Wall-e was... PLANT?

''B-But... How... How do you...?" - stammering she took the plant gently from him and looking at it.

'' I took it out when it fell out of my hand the second time.''

''WALL–E'' - she exclaimed joyfully placing the plant in its container and then threw herself at Wall -e hugging and kissing him so that he drifted away. ''You are amazing. Thank you, thank you, thank you...''

Wall-e felt like he was in seventh heaven. When Eve began to kiss him, his heart beat so fast that he thought it would fly out of his chest. They kissed once more when suddenly the door slid open and someone ran inside. They were very surprised, and the person who ran inside without a word didn't even notice them, only was leaning with his hands against the door . However, when he turned around after hearing a gun being loaded, he got scared but then noticed Wall -e

''Oh , It's you! - he exclaimed, pointing to Wall-e

''Don't go near him," - warned Eve pointing a gun at him

Shh... Calmly, I won't do anything to you.'' - he said showing his hands in a gesture of surrender '' I'm just hiding. These stewards scare me and they are still looking for my other friends.''

Wall-e and Eve was listening to him.

After 10 minutes, Vingo explained everything he knew. Wall-e and Eve looked at each other thoughtfully sitting in a circle on the floor and devising a plan.

''Hmm, it will be much harder to go unnoticed now.''

''Especially since we don't know where is Holo...Holode…?... Something there.''

''Holo-Detector'' - Eve corrected him

''Mhm. Do you think that the Captain knows where it is ?''

''I don't think so. Otherwise he would have given me the information as soon as he handed over the plant. Probably only Auto knows or there is an option that the device is hidden and it is activated by a button. If only there was a way to contact the Captain, so that he knows that we have the plant.''

''Do you have any idea Eve?'' - asked Wall-e

''Yes, but dangerous.''

''Meaning?''

''First we must return to the Lido deck.''

''But how?... Themselves?''

''Maybe not," - Vingo suddenly spoke up after listening to the two talk, "Friends can help us, just need to lure them with something. For example, if only with this song... (he was muttering to the rhythm of 'Put on Your Sunday Clothers')

''Did you like my song ?'' - asked Wall -e surprised

''Of course it did. It sounded really pleasant until you wanted to dance. Will you play it again? Please, please, please.'' - Vingo begged

''Okay, okay. Only I'll turn it down so it's not too loud.''

Wall-e played the song and immediately the painter started humming. Eve also liked the song because she also muttered something. After a few minutes the song ended and Wall -e turned off the player.

''Ok, we better get going while it's still night.'' – said Eve

All three went outside and were instantly covered by a steward because it turned out that one of them saw a trace of colored paint left on the floor. Without warning Eve shot at him deactivating it , and then with Wall-e she looked at Vingo with an angry look, who was now staring at the floor in shame.

They forgave him for not telling about it and moved through the corridors. Eve, of course, held Wall-e and he turned on the player and gave the maximum volume. Moving through the corridors, the remaining people: Liamet, Hans, Patricia, Vaqium, Dafib and Beatrice gathered and Eve explained the plan. When they heard that Wall-e might soon die due to lack of charging they got worried. Now they considered him a hero, because he made them free. Everyone agreed to help them get to the Lido Deck but before they could move suddenly holograms turned on and strangely the Captain was on them.

''Hey, hey... Does it work? .. Hey ... It's me ... Your Captain... Auto trapped me in my quarters... Wall-e... Eve ... If you hear this transmission... You need to go to the Lido deck... That's the place where is a Holo-Detector, which I will try to activate,'' - he said showing them a page of the book '' Hurry up , otherwise the Auto can... ''

Twenty minutes earlier

The Captain got tired of constantly banging on the elevator door and just browsed the room and then the book at the same time trying to find a way to stop the Auto and make it try to activate the Holo-Detector despite the absence of the only specimen from the Earth. When the Captain thought about the latter a thought occurred to him . He opened the book to the page where the instructions related to the Holo-Detector were shown and saw something interesting and in addition now knew where it was. With a sneer on his face, he wheeled his hoverchair under the computer console and fiddled with the cables until he managed to minimally activate the live video before Auto shut down the feed completely. The Captain hoped that his new friends had listened to the message. For that, he himself had to find a way to get to the command bridge and the thought even occurred to him of how to lure Auto down, although it was risky.

Auto heard some strange sound from the captain's quarters resembling an explosion. Normally he wouldn't have been concerned about it, but he had a guess that it might have been Lieutenant Eve, so he decided to go downstairs in the elevator. However, what was happening on down surprised him after exiting the elevator. He didn't expect that the thing which caused this sound was oddly enough the Captain's hoverchair, but he wasn't there . He quickly made a dodge and all the time he did it without noticing that the Captain walked on ... his own feet? (Of course holding on to the railings.) Auto growled when he heard the elevator doors close and realized he had been tricked.

Meanwhile, the Captain was satisfied that his plan had succeeded. Now he had to get to the console as quickly as possible and press the square blue button that activates the Holo-Detector. He barely managed to stand, but he wasn't even going to fall despite the fact that it was hard to walk especially since it was the first time he stood on his own. He reached the console and pressed the button in time before Auto came up.

He was pissed and threw himself at the Captain and he caught him fairly quickly and pushed him away, but the Captain wouldn't let go so easily. Auto was fed up that those two had destroyed his plans and were still trying to do something even though the plant had been destroyed by him and on top of that the Captain was against him too. He decided to teach them all a stern lesson.

Sometime earlier after the transmission was turned off.

''HALT! GIVE UP!'' - the stewards exclaimed at the same time.

''Oh shit!" - whispered Wall-e, seeing a large group of stewards.

Eve without thinking shot at one of the normal types deactivating it . Immediately in place of one shot steward, which fell another appeared and the action began .

The stewards almost surrounded them all . Eve eliminated most of them quite quickly as did Wall-e with his gun . Although after six shots his gun overheated a bit, because of which he had to wait a few seconds before firing another shot, it was really great the gun. Stewards using force fields grabbed and tried to hold down rebellious workers, but several were immediately shot by Eve or Wall-e or held back in some various other way. They were practically easier to stop, but when it came to the combat stewards model, they were harder to defeat because they used electric darts and pistols and for that they could do dodging.

More and more of them appeared and the situation became more and more dangerous. Wall-e was pushed after one of them bumped into him. Eve seeing this wanted to help him but was hit in the leg herself. At the last moment they were protected from the shots by Beatrice. Her umbrella was strong enough to deflect force fields, but unfortunately it won't withstand gunfire for too long. It was necessary to quickly think of something before it was too late . Hans in a straitjacket ran up to the hiding people.

''Release me. I will gladly beat them.'' - he said quickly

Everyone thought about it for a few seconds and Wall-e agreed. Eve didn't stop him knowing that this may be their only chance. Wall-e used his goggle laser on the straitjacket cutting it off and freeing Hans. Immediately upon his release, Hans rushed at all the stewards turning them into scrap metal. Parts were flying everywhere, and the number of stewards was decreasing. It was a relief for the others because they were already tired and Eve had to bandage her leg. Fortunately, the leg had a minor wound and only bandage was needed. Wall-e was fine but he was also tired. He watched Hans with unfailing hands speed destroy one steward after another.

It took some time, but finally managed to get the last steward. Hans was panting exhausted, but he was happy that finally he could hit something another, not his friends, and now he hoped that no one would be afraid of him. Everyone was very grateful to him for his help because if not for him, they would have killed them all. Avoiding all the scattered parts they moved further down the corridor.

Wall-e wasn't feeling well despite his rest. The screen of the goggles still showed two bars, but unfortunately this level will certainly in a few minutes amount to only one flashing red bar. This was a critical level, and Wall-e wasn't sure how long his battery at this level would last before they returned to Earth. He suspected he would have twenty minutes or less left, but promised himself he wouldn't give up.
