Chapter 65: Major Metallitron
Mugen dashed into the main lobby of Muscle Tower and cut down two soldiers that were stumbling around. "Looks like I'm really late for the fun." He dashed onward through the first floor as he followed the path of destruction.
He cut down the few soldiers standing and finally made his way to the stairwell. Mugen dashed up the steps and burst out onto the second floor. He passed more beaten soldiers as he made his way to another stairwell.
"Fuck…" Mugen breathed, "How far up did they go?" He dashed up the stairwell and made his way to the tower's third floor.
Looking around at the crates and vehicles around him, Mugen sighed and continued running through the tower. He cut down three soldiers as they moved to get up on their feet, and he heard several explosions go off. He smiled and picked up speed as he dashed into a vast chamber where Shuhei was fighting a small feminine-looking android.
Shuhei jabbed two Finger Pistols that merely scratched Android #6, and he skipped back. The android aimed its arms forward and fired its machine guns at Shuhei as he skipped around to evade the bullets.
Mugen deflected a few stray bullets that came his way, and he dashed across the chamber, avoiding the fight that was in progress.
Android #6 aimed its left hand at Mugen, and Shuhei appeared behind it suddenly. Shuhei grabbed the android's arm and yanked it upward as he spun around and slammed a fierce kick into its chest.
Mugen and Shuhei shared a brief glance and went about their business. Mugen dashed out of the chamber as Shuhei continued his clash against Android #6. He made his way down several hallways, jumping over bodies as he went.
He came to another chamber where a few dozen soldiers lay unconscious, and Mugen sighed loudly. "How much have I missed?!"
"Mugen, over here!"
Turning to his left, he spotted Bulma operating on three androids laid out on a pile of weapon crates. Mugen jogged over to her and raised an eyebrow as he surveyed the opened androids.
"You made it!" Bulma smiled.
"Did you doubt me?" He smiled slightly and looked at the androids, "What are you doing?"
"These guys were fitted with bombs, so I'm removing them," Bulma explained nonchalantly.
"You're… Dismantling bombs?"
Bulma nodded.
"Don't get yourself blown up." Mugen smiled and dashed away from Bulma and the bombs.
"Of course not!" Bulma called after him as he walked across the chamber and continued across the third floor.
Mugen eventually came to the stairwell and stopped dead in his tracks. He looked slowly to the left and then gradually to the right, sighing loudly. There were two sets of stairs, one leading in a leftward direction and the other leading right.
"Which set did they use?" Mugen grasped his chin with his left hand and thought for several moments, "Let's go this way!" He ran up the stairs and continued onward.
Shuhei slammed a barrage of kicks into the android and sent it staggering backward. Android #6 flexed, and its shoulders opened up as it prepared to launch more missiles. Shuhei skipped backward as he fought to control his breathing, his Shotgun took almost as much energy as his Spirit Gun, and he found himself exhausted.
Android #6's left shoulder sparked violently, and the loaded missiles exploded, destroying its left arm and detonating the missiles loaded into its right shoulder. Shuhei watched the series of explosions annihilate the android as pieces were thrown all around.
Shuhei sighed and scratched the back of his head, "Was I responsible for that?" He shrugged and popped his back. He turned quickly and took off in the direction that Mugen had gone.
In no time at all, Shuhei came to the chamber where Bulma was operating on the androids. He ran over to her and eyed the androids cautiously.
Bulma smiled, "What took you so long?"
"I'm still getting warmed up." Shuhei shrugged. "So, what are you doing?"
"These guys were implanted with bombs, and I'm removing them," Bulma explained.
Shuhei nodded, "Right… Why?"
"I... I'm not completely sure, but I know that I'm doing the right thing." She smiled and continued working on Android #1.
Shuhei smiled, too, "I understand."
Bulma, her forearms inside of Android #1, slowly pulled her arms free and removed a baseball-sized device that steadily blinked a dim red. "Got one!"
"Hey, I just got an idea." Shuhei smiled as he stared at the bomb.
Zika and Hama bounded up the left staircase and came to a door. They burst into a dimly lit hallway and strolled as they looked and smelled around. The walls went up to the ceiling, and a faint buzzing filled the air.
They came to a left turn and rounded the corner slowly. Zika patted Hama on the head, "I don't smell or hear anything weird." Hama barked quietly and continued walking down the hall. Zika smiled and walked with him as they approached a fork in the path.
Looking to the left and then right, Zika led Hama down the right hall, and they continued to a dead end after a few turns. They continued back to the original fork in the path and took the left corridor.
Zika sighed, "I think we're in a maze, boy."
Hama barked, annoyed.
Asuka ran around a bright hallway as he looked for Zika and Hama. "They should be around here somewhere." He continued down the hallway until he came to an enormous round chamber.
He looked around as he walked across the chamber. He didn't see the others but could hear something strange moving around. Turning around quickly, Asuka managed to duck under a punch from a massive figure, and he jumped away.
The figure stood nine feet tall with a square head and wild orange hair. It wore a dark blue vest that was zipped up with black pants and boots. Its eyes flickered red as it looked Asuka up and down, "Scanning."
Asuka put his fists up and raised an eyebrow, "Huh?"
"Scanning complete." The figure nodded its head, "Human, 62.40%. Lunarian, 27.51%. Mink, 10.09%."
"Wha-? Mink?" Asuka questioned, "Who are you?"
"I am Android #7, also known as Major Metallitron." The figure explained, "Now I must terminate you!"
Asuka smiled slightly, "Bring it on!"
The android skipped forward with a quick step and hurtled at Asuka as he swung a quick punch down at him. Asuka bounced to his right and hurled his left arm into the side of the android's head. He yanked his arm back as Major Metallitron aimed its right arm forward and fired bullets from its fingertips.
Asuka Shaved around quickly and appeared behind the android as he delivered a savage kick into its left leg. Metallitron spun around and slammed its right fist into the side of Asuka's head and sending him skipping across the floor. He jumped up and steadied himself as the android fired another burst from its fingertips.
Detaching his feet at the ankles, Asuka flew up into the air and used Moon Walk with his hands to propel himself forward. Asuka flew at Metallitron and struck it in the head with a series of swift punches. As Asuka drifted back, the android thrust its right fist forward and shot it into the boy's chest, "Rocket Fist!"
Asuka slammed into the ceiling as Metallitron used magnets in his arm and hand to reassemble himself. Asuka flipped around in the air and steadied himself, "That's my move."
Major Metallitron opened its mouth impossibly wide and fired a cannonball up at Asuka! Asuka spun around in the air and flew at the android as an explosion rocked the ceiling. Clenching his right fist tightly, Asuka's right hand burst into flames, and he slammed a powerful punch into the android's head, "Rocket Fist!"
Colonel Beige sat in his office and answered his Transponder Snail when it began ringing, "Yes?"
"Sir, one of the intruders has engaged Major Metallitron in combat on the fourth floor." A soldier spoke through the snail.
"I'm aware." Beige spoke as he watched the fight projected onto his wall, "The kid is as good as dead."
"Another intruder and a dog are also making their way through the training maze on floor five." The soldier informed Beige.
Colonel Beige sighed, "They'll be lost for some time. Take care of the others on the lower floors and leave me alone. I want to watch this fight." He ended the call and poured himself another glass of whiskey.
Mugen dashed up the left staircase and came to a door. He burst out into a dimly lit hallway and ran forward. He proceeded down another maze of hallways as a faint buzzing filled the air.
He came to a left turn and rounded the corner quickly, still running. He went down the hall and came to a fork in the path.
Looking to the left and then right, Mugen ran down the right hall and continued onward to a dead end after a few turns.
"Of fucking course, it's a maze," Mugen grumbled as he spun his sword around in his hand. He swung his blade diagonally and shattered the wall into pieces with a flying slash.
Mugen stepped through the broken wall and grinned as he entered another hallway. Turning to the left, he slowly walked down the hall as he looked around in the dim light.
Major Metallitron slammed its left fist into Asuka and sent him crashing into the wall. Asuka ripped himself free and hurled two Chop-Chop Rockets that struck the android in the chest. He yanked his arms back as he flew around, and Major Metallitron fired its machine gun fingers at him.
Asuka flew around quickly and used Moon Walk with his hands to propel himself forward. He flipped over the androids and delivered a flurry of powerful punches into the top of Metallitron's head. Asuka's feet ran wildly as Major Metallitron spun around and launched a Rocket Fist into the boy's chest.
Asuka spun around wildly and slammed into the ceiling again as Mateallitron retracted its hand back to its arm. Steadying himself in the air, Asuka coughed violently, and blood sputtered from his mouth. He took several deep breaths and focused on his training with Kami.
Kami nodded slowly, watching Asuka wield his flames, "It's just as I thought."
"Hm?" Asuka raised an eyebrow as his left hand burned brightly.
"You must have Lunarian blood in you." Kami nodded surely.
"Lunarian?" Asuka questioned.
"Long before Marie Jois was built or even conceived, a Kingdom of Gods existed on the Red Line. This was a tribe of Lunarians. They had black wings larger than any Sky Islander and the ability to conjure flames. Their hair and skin were very much like yours."
Asuka nodded his head slowly, "Okay."
"So you must have had a Lunarian parent, possibly a grandparent," Kami explained.
"Then, why don't I have wings?" Asuka asked with a smile.
Kami chuckled, "Well, that does poke holes in my theory. Maybe they were taken from you."
"Part Lunarian, huh? I'm still human, though, right?"
Kami nodded, "Very much so, yes."
Asuka laughed and shook out the flames on his left fist, "Then I'll learn to use these flames like those old Gods."
Kami smiled.
Asuka shook the memories from his head and ignited his fists in brilliant flames. Major Metallitron opened its mouth and fired a cannonball as Asuka ignited his fists. Asuka flew quickly through the air and spun around the cannonball; it struck the ceiling and exploded violently.
Spinning rapidly in a fashion similar to Zika and Hama, Asuka flew down and slammed his right fist into Major Metallitron's forehead, causing it to stumble backward. Raising his left fist high, Asuka grinned widely and brought it squarely into the android's face, "Rocket Fist!"
Major Metallitron was thrown off balance and fell onto its back after Asuka's second punch. The android sat up, yanked its left arm off at the elbow, and aimed it upward as Asuka floated around. Metallitron's elbow cannon fired a blast of crackling green flames that Asuka dodged, and that sticky green substance struck the ceiling and began eating away at it.
Asuka flew downward as Metallitron moved to get up, and he barraged his flaming fists into the android's chest and head. His punches dented and singed Major Metallitron as he continued his savage attack, and with a flaming uppercut, he removed the head from the android!
Major Metallitron's body sparked and convulsed violently as a loud beeping began to sound off. The head of the android started laughing, and Asuka stared down at it.
"Self-destruction has been initiated; prepare to be terminated!" Major Metallitron cackled.
Asuka reattaches his feet to his body and dashes out of the chamber and through a large set of wooden doors as the android's bomb erupted violently. Asuka continued onward as he heard the explosion and made his way across the fourth floor of Muscle Tower.
