Central City
Nora West-Allen
Henry West-Allen
Ages: 9
In a nice big house outside of the city. In a large bedroom upstairs is where the Fastest Kids Alive are still fast asleep in their bunk bed, despite the bright morning Sun shining through their windows.
They are Nora and Henry West-Allen.
Nora was sleeping on top bunk, and Henry was on the bottom. And every once in a while, they would switch.
And although they would fight sometimes, they would learn afterwards from their parents, Iris West-Allen and Barry Allen, aka; The Flash, that fighting doesn't solve anything, or even gets what they want.
Nora and Henry don't always see eye to eye, but they can agree on some things when it comes to who gets a fair share. And they care about each other deeply, and they're always there for each other.
Then, their bedroom door opened, their mother Iris walked in, turned on the light and said. "Kids? It's time to get up. Breakfast is getting cold, and you know how hungry Daddy gets..."
Suddenly, the twins jolted up. Wide awake!
"No way Daddy is gonna eat all of the breakfast again!" said Nora.
"Yeah!", said Henry. "He's already gotten away with eating the last of the bacon yesterday morning!"
"Well then, you two better get your speedy little butts out of bed", Iris said smiling. "We're having French toast and sausages".
"Sweet!" Nora said as she climbed down the bunk bed ladder.
"Awesome!" shouted Henry as he got out of the bottom bunk. And he ran straight downstairs. At super-speed! Zoom!!
"Hey!" You better not hog the syrup again, Henry!" shouted Nora. And she ran after him at super-speed, too. Zoom!!
"Kids!" Iris called out. "I bought more syrup the other day. Relax!" And she went downstairs to the dining room to keep her rambunctious children from starting another table war.
When the twins first turned 9, their parents told them about their father's past and his super hero identity as...
The Flash! The Fastest Man Alive!
And recently, about a month and a half ago, Nora and Henry discovered that they inherited their father's incredible power of super-speed!
They were SO excited, and a bit scared at the same time. Especially Iris and Barry, and they didn't even know that their young son and daughter would become speedsters.
But now that they are, it's up to their father to teach them how to control their running, and learn neat speed tricks. Such as:
Vibrating through solid objects. Throwing lightning. And creating tornadoes with their arms.
Which is how they came up with their super hero team name: 'The Tornado Twins'! They even came up their own individual super hero codenames: Nora chose 'XS'. And Henry chose 'Impulse'.
Barry was already at the table when the twins zoomed into the dining room. He laughed as his children sat in their chairs, so eager to eat breakfast.
"Are you two really that hungry, or just too excited for Mount Justice?" he asked.
"Both, Daddy", replied Nora.
"And this time, we don't want you taking most of the breakfast again, Dad", said Henry.
"Yeah. We wanted more of the bacon from yesterday's breakfast, but you ate it all", said Nora.
"Oh. I'm sorry, kids", said Barry. "I admit, I was pretty hungry yesterday. So this time, I'll wait until you guys want some more".
"Thanks, Dad", said Henry.
Nora gave a smile.
Then Iris came to the table and brought the sausages and French toast.
"I'll get the coffee and juice, Honey", said Barry. He got up, and zoomed to the kitchen.
Zoom!!
"Okay", Iris replied as she sat down at the table.
And when he came back with the drinks, he said, "Me, the League, and Young Justice were getting things ready yesterday for when you and your friends arrive at Mount Justice today, kids".
"That's great, Barry. And I'm sure that it's gonna be a great day for all of them", said Iris as she poured hot coffee into her mug.
The Flash Family then started to enjoy their breakfast. They each squirted ketchup on their sausages, and poured maple syrup on their French toast. Iris and Barry had their coffee, and the twins had orange juice.
"Hey, Dad. Do you think that we'll be okay on our first day at Mount Justice?" asked Henry as he got another piece of toast.
"Yeah, Daddy". I actually am pretty nervous, too. What if we do a bad job?" Nora asked as she got another sausage.
"You two will be just fine", said Iris with a warm smile.
"Your mom's right, kids", said Barry. "We will all be there to help and teach you all of the basics of being a hero. So there's no need to be scared.
"And besides. You two will not do a bad job. I'll be there for you both if things don't go as planned."
"Is Wally gonna be there?!" the twins asked at the same time.
"Yes, kids", Barry laughed. "Kid Flash will definitely be there".
"Cousin Wally is a member of Young Justice, after all", said Iris.
"AWESOME!!" Nora and Henry always loved to spend time with their favorite cousin.
Wally West, aka; Kid Flash, gained the power of super-speed when he was 15 years old. And just like The Flash, he was struck by lightning and doused with chemicals that spilled on him. And he became The Flash's sidekick.
The twins always felt better when their parents are there for them in any kind of situation. They're both very lucky to have a loyal and loving family.
Then all of a sudden, Barry's Justice League communicator started going off when him and his family just finished eating breakfast.
It's time for the Fastest Man Alive to take is Fastest Kids Alive to Mount Justice!
Then, without a warning. Nora and Henry zoomed upstairs to get dressed, and brush their hair and teeth. Zoom!! Zoom!!
When they were done, they came back downstairs as the Tornado Twins: XS and Impulse!
XS's outfit was lilac purple and white with a small black and bright yellow lightning bolt symbol on her chest. She wore her purple eye mask, and her short light red hair had her 2 favorite golden lightning bolt barrettes on each side. XS always loved to make herself look pretty like her mom.
And Impulse's outfit was red-orange and white, and had a face mask with his dark red hair sticking out on the top, and had goggles similar to Kid Flash. His lightning bolt symbol has the same colors as his sister's, but is in the same shape as his father's. Impulse loved to make himself look like his dad and cousin.
Barry and Iris were very proud seeing their young children following in their father's footsteps and becoming super heroes for the very first time.
Barry then activated his Flash ring, and his suit inside it sprung out. And he grabbed the suit, then he started spinning around super fast as he put it on. When Barry was done, he became...
The Flash!
XS and Impulse always loved watching their father spin around like a top and turn into Central City's scarlet speedster.
"Kids? Don't forget your backpacks", said Iris as she handed them over to the Tornado Twins. "Your favorite lunches are inside: PB and J sandwiches, fruit punch juice boxes, blueberries, and red velvet cupcakes for dessert".
"Thanks, Mom!" said Impulse.
"Thanks, Mommy!" said XS, giving her mother a big hug. Iris hugged back.
"Have a good day at Picture News, Honey", said Flash, giving her a kiss.
"And you three have a great day, as well", Iris replied as she kissed her husband back, as well as her son and daughter. Iris is a reporter for Picture News in Central City, she always wants to get the job done when it comes to getting a good story, just like Lois Lane in Metropolis.
"Come on, Daddy! What are we waiting for?" said XS.
"Yeah, Dad! Let's getting runnin'!," said Impulse.
"Okay, Tornado Twins. Okay", Flash chuckled. So the three speedsters headed out the back door, getting ready for their top-speed journey to Mount Justice.
"Have fun", said Iris as she waved her children good-bye. "I love you!"
"Love you too, Honey", said Flash.
"Love ya too, Mom", said Impulse.
"Me too, Mommy!" shouted XS.
And so... Zoom!! Zoom!! Zoom!!
Off the Fastest Man and Kids Alive went at top super-speed to meet up with their friends at Mount Justice.
XS and Impulse: the young Tornado Twins will stay together, along with their friends in whatever obstacles they will face.
