Hey everyone! So sorry for the long ass wait, i kinda got grounded. So yeah . . . Dont worry your little heads about it thou! Ive got nothing to say except i hope you all had a good or at least a decent winter break/holiday. For me, it was eh tbh. Enough talk, start reading!
Shoto's pov
Your twin sister's eyes looked slightly shocked and, weirdly, a bit fearful. You had just asked why she was so sure that she wouldn't stay at UA and why she didn't want to become a hero. She also seemed like she was afraid of your reaction to her answer. And you could literally see the gears in her head working, debating on whether or not she should tell you.
'What's with her reaction?'
Y/n then frowned, as she decided something and said, "Look, I just have a plan that will force dad to see that the right choice for me is to transfer back to SAC. If all goes well, it should take a week to 3 weeks."
Your twin was strangely shy about everything, and you raised an eyebrow. Hoping she would tell you more.
Y/n glanced your way and got defensive, saying, "What?! I don't have to tell you. And even then, you should probably figure it out soon." She let out a sigh and continued with the next question.
"And well, the reason why I don't want to be a hero is because . . ." Then your sister chickened out, switching her timid tone to one that literally says, I'm hiding something from you, but I won't tell you. "Because it's just not my dream! You know I want to be an artist. Also, I don't want to become dad's stupid little puppet."
You're skeptical about the answer, though it was true. But there's obviously more to it than that. You just narrow your eyes at her, but decide not to push it. Luckily for y/n, you guys have reached the cafeteria and start getting your food. Then you walk over to where the 'dekusquad' is sitting.
"Hey, Todoroki! You're finally here!" Says everyone, except Hitoshi, who just looks up. And you see him glance at y/n, who is walking behind you. And you may have imagined it, but did the smile on their faces seem to strain a little?
You slide into the seat next to Iida and motion for your twin to sit across from you with Uraraka and Tsu.
Y/n's pov
You stare at Shoto, then the seat, and finally at Uraraka who looks quite surprised at the seating situation. You let a few seconds pass by before taking the seat while glaring at your brother. You make sure to sit at the edge of the table, as far as you could from the group.
You just poke at your food with your head down. There's a tension in the air because of you, and you feel your cheeks starting to get hot from it. The silence is driving you crazy, and you decide to speak up.
"So . . . you guys always hang out together?" It was a stupid question, but you had no idea what to ask. You just continue to pick at your lunch, not daring to look up.
"Uh, yeah, we do. Except for um Hitoshi, he uh just started to hang out with us since he transferred into the class." Midoriya answered awkwardly, while everyone just agreed.
"That's . . . nice. Shoto has told me a lot about you guys."
And you hated the silence afterward. You just wanted to melt right there or disappear. You glance at your white and red-headed twin to see him looking back and forth from you to his friends. You knew he wanted to help the awkwardness, but he himself wasn't good with words.
"So, how was SAC?" asked Uraraka.
"It was fun." You answer with a slight hint of fondness in your voice. You would have told them more, but there was that heavy atmosphere, so thick you could take a knife and cut it. And that was all because of your presence.
A few moments of silence stretched by, and you can't deal with it anymore. This was all your fault. You stand up and manage to cough up an excuse, " I'm going to have to leave. I have stuff to do in my room."
"But aren't you going to finish eating? You barely touched your food." Hitoshi asked concerned.
That surprised you, you were used to people not caring about your eating habits, or lack of it. But you just quickly mutter that you weren't hungry anyway while glancing away. You then smile it off and revert your eyes towards your brother.
"Bye Shoto. Bye, everyone."
Everyone acts polite and says bye to you, Midoriya mentioning that it was nice talking to you.
"Yeah . . . same here." And you bolt out of there so fast, you forgot to bring your tray. You turn the corner and just slide down the wall, relief washing over you. When you realize that you forgot your tray. You peak around the corner to see the group talking to each other, and you assume it's about you.
'Stupid y/n! You forgot your damn tray back there! Now, what are you going to do?! *Sigh* I'll just text Shoto if he can throw it away for me.' And with that, you take your leave towards your dorm, still kicking yourself for that awkward situation.
Shoto's pov
Y/n was really awkward while she was here. You guess she also felt the tension in the air. She was itching to leave, you just knew it. And that's why she left in such a big rush and forgot her lunch. You felt bad for her, the situation wasn't her fault. And you wanted to help, but knew you might make it worse. You also noticed that, once your sister left, everybody seemed to let out a breath, like they were holding it.
"I'm glad that's over now. It was so awkward. *kero" Tsu sighed.
"To be honest . . . yeah. No offense Todoroki! But she seemed uncomfortable too." Midoriya also stated.
You just look at them and blink. It was true, yes, but you couldn't seem to understand why your friends seemed off when your twin was here. She was just shy, like any other person.
"Look, she forgot her tray here. Must have forgotten it since she left so fast." Uraraka said, a hint of disgust in her voice.
Shinso spoke up, "Well, wouldn't you do the same if you were also in an awkward situation because of your presence? You would also want to leave as fast as possible, right?"
"Shinso is right! That was not very heroic of us to make her feel that way!" Iida commented while hand chopping the air.
You notice that everybody agreed, but that Uraraka still thought that it wasn't good of you to leave your tray, especially with most of the food on it. You slightly frown at that, but didn't say anything. And as the conversation moved to something else, you heard a bing from your phone, signaling that it was y/n.
Author-chan's note: * this means their texting
Y/n- * hey halfy! I accidently left my tray at the table when i left. I would go back to throw it away but… you know why. i wanted to ask you if you could throw it for me, just this 1 time!*
You were happy to be able to help her with something and also wanted to spare her the embarrassment too.
Shoto- *Sure thing sis. I understand.*
Y/n- *OMG thanks! I owe you one! :)))*
Shoto- *Your welcome, see you later in class. :)*
