Pain came first, then his hearing, triggering the rest of his sensory functions to start up again one by one, breckan wished his nerves hadn't started however, that was a bit too much for him at the moment.

Taking his first ragged breath while sentient was quickly found out to be a mistake, as his ribs could barely expand due to their bruising, probably fractured, the lack of feeling indicated a broken one, probably. This did not surprise breckan, albeit he shouldn't lower his Hope lower than it already was, he has yet to even open his eyes, and truthfully he didn't want to, his eyes would most definitely be greeted by the sight of his battered body, along with the alien environment of God knows where he fell, for sure it wasn't going to be anywhere pleasant, maybe if he fell back to sleep he would be greeted by Liza in a nurses outfit tending to his wounds, ha, as if, maybe he was hallucinating already. "I wonder why I haven't been eaten yet, wasn't something big chasing me?" "The splitmaw!" As that thought was processed breckan's Eyes flew open along with sitting up faster than lightning reaches the ground causing him pain along with a sizeable amount pebbles and plant matter to fall off of his body which he willfully ignoring the first while vaguely noting the later in order to frantically search his surroundings for the mortal threat, he was in a narrow ravine at least 15 feet deep, encapsulated from all sides except for the roughly man sized aperture from which sunlight streamed in along with being his entrance point.

Placing a hand over his maniacally beating heart, while taking deep breaths he took the time to observe his surroundings with more detail, the entrance was all battered, as if someone had taken a giant sledgehammer and went to town on it, "so it did follow me and try to eat me after all! I Guess it didn't want all its effort to go in vain, still couldn't get me, huh. Anyways, I guess that's where all these rocks came from" silently thanking the powers at work for having the luck to not have a backpack sized rock Land on his head he slowly and warily stood up using his right arm to brace himself.

Glancing to where he was laying he did a double take as he saw the remnants of what appeared to be a backpack, and some half decomposed coal black clothes, apparently, somebody had been in the area before, but what really caught his attention was the moss, it was absorbing his blood, which had oozed from various wounds he received during his venture down the slope.

This might not have seemed like anything out of the ordinary, moss was spongy after all, who said it wouldn't absorb blood, but judging from the pool of it, he bled alot while he was unconscious, the disturbing fact about it was that the moss was growing over it, encapsulating it, now breckan was no botany expert, but plants did not grow that fast, risking a look at his arms his heart palpitated, "what the hell is this?! Is there something that doesn't want to kill me?" His arms were covered in the moss, "agh this crap burns! I need to get out of here" breckan started to frantically beat at his arms trying to get some of the stuff off and finding moderate success with the outer layer while the moss closest to his skin stuck fast, "how do i get something dissolving my skin off?" "Maybe i can dry it off? Definitely not down here, not enough sunlight and the humidity is high, I can practically feel the water in the moist air" breckan knew his only option out of his current predicament was to get out of the hole inside the hole he currently resided in, there was just one small detail, all of his gear was lost on the chase, and his body really wasn't in the best state, what was surprising was the fact that he could move, after all, closing his hand was something un accomplishable as he was falling, bizare indeed, he couldn't have been asleep for any large measure of time either, of that he was sure.

"I could shimy myself up, but do I have it in me, falling from that height might as well be falling to my grave." Glancing at his arms he added "not like I have much of a choice huh, ofcourse i could just lay here and wait to be eaten by creepy plants and become part of the abyss...yeah screw that."

Mind made, he picked up a fist sized rock from the floor, examining it briefly to analyze its material, it was a grayish rock, definitely solid, he had hoped that maybe the ground would be composed of dirt or mud since the area was so humid, mud and dirt could be shaped, that hope was mercilessly crushed.

Frustrated he squeezed the rock as a form of relieving some stress without attracting more charming wildlife, albeit the rock did something completely unexpected in return, it cracked, right through the middle with an audible clack sound, he checked the rock right? He had never seen clay this solid along with being so not crumbly, narrowing his eyes he experimentally attempted to scratch the surface of one of the halves with his nails leading to him to drop the halves and clench his ears and jaw at the scriching sound, "definitely solid rock"

Placing his hands on the opposing sides of the cave walls he lifted himself so his legs were also putting pressure on the walls like some demented spider he began using the width of the cave to his advantage, climbing up it like riko did the halls of the orphanage when hiding from belchero.

Raising hand and foot slowly but surely, each move causing a new pain to blossom in his body, surprisingly although his muscles were shock full of lactic acid from exertion hence using his arms and legs felt like they were made of lead instead of flesh, he didn't once slip, the pressure was enough to apply enough friction to keep him suspended.

This continued until the opening was but a hands reach away, he reached and all four of his left fingers found purchase on the battered rock, gasping in relief with a fair amount of elation mixed in he reached with his right hand and griped as well, breathing heavily with a small smile tugging at his lips, he lifted himself out of the crevice.
