In the different versions of the Fifth Holy Grail war he was been summoned in, things were almost the same, to a disappointing degree.

When he heard of the Second True Magic during his time as Rin's apprentice in the Clocktower, he thought that, perhaps, there was another version of himself in the infinite Multiverse that had the powers of the hero of an american comic, or something like that.

Rin laughing at him for saying that was a vivid memory, even to this day.

The truth is, the Multiverse isn't infinite, and most things in those universes were barely different, with few exceptions. Small things, like a different hair color, prefering one kind of food over other, a different History teacher.

Unconsequential things, really.

That's why this especific war was making him slightly nervous. The Masked Man with whom he fought a few days ago was new, his abilities marked him as a Servant, but his prescence didn't.
So he either had the best Prescense Concealment registered in the Throne, or he wasn't a Servant.

He didn't know which one was worse.

On the other side, this Emiya Shirou was… different, and that was never a good sign.

The last version of himself that was "different" ended up becoming a flesh eating monster clad in green armor, a predator, running away from humanity.

So, to avoid something like that happening again, he decided to keep a closer eye on the fool, and it paid out.

The Belt he used when he met with Rider in the forest was the same the Masked Man was wearing.

Which led him to two possible conclusions:

One, Emiya Shirou and the Masked Man were one in the same.

Or two, someone else was playing him for a fool, the Witch maybe.

Which is why, when he saw the red head walking towards the Ryuudo Temple, he followed him from a distance, if his hunch was correct, then Saber should be on her way too.

If Caster was really controlling him, he could kill two birds with a single sword, and if she wasn't, well, it was time for him to confront the fool.

In the Temple.

When He woke up, it took Him a few seconds to realize where He was.

The Temple, where the friend of the other guy lived. He has never been to this place before.

He took His time looking around, when the smell of Magic alerted His senses.

Like a mirage, a robbed figure appeared, floating a few meters in front of Him.

The figure floated for a few seconds, before slowly landing on the ground.

He looked at the figure, tilting His head to His side.

The figure looked at Him, before speaking.

"Good evening, boy".

So it was a woman.

"I hope you had a fun trip".

He stood silent.

"It's a pleasure meeting you, Master of Saber, allow me to introduce myself,

I am Caster"

Caster, a Servant.

Servants are a danger to both of them.

Servants are a danger to people.

Servants must be eliminated.

He reached into the bond between Him and His weapons, and they answered.

Caster rose an eyebrow, looking at the Belt that appeared in her prey's waist.

In his hand, a strange device appeared.

He tried to press the button on top, but her bindings stopped him.

Was he trying to use a Mystic Code? Doesn't matter.

He struggled, for a bit, before looking back at her.

A bad feeling, a forebonding sensations, a shiver down her spine.

Dark marks appeared, coming from his Command Seals and settling in his body, his eyes now a dull brown.

To her horror, her bindings were destroyed, breaking him free.

He lifted his hand and pressed the button on top of the object

Bat!

Confirmed!

From His shadow, a multitud of Bats formed and surrounded His body.

Slidding the Stamp into his Belt, he drew his weapon.

Henshin

The bats created a gray and cyan undersuit, followed by black armor in His chest, arms and legs. A black and gray helmet appeared surrounding His head, with a single horn pointing to the sky, cyan eyes shining.

In His chest, the symbol of a spray painted bat.

VERSUS UP!

MADNESS! HOPELESS! DARKNESS! BAT!

EVIL!

The Masked Man walked towards Caster, making her retreat into the sky.

He looked up at her, slightly annoyed. His weapon was short on range, and He didn't have a ranged weapon, so He had to force her back into the ground.

He moved, jumping to her direction before trying to slash her with His sword, hoping to cut off her head.

He failed, Caster had the advantage, so He had to compensate.

From his shadow, the Bats appeared again, surrounding his body for a moment and creating a black, floating mass in his place, before shooting up to Caster like a black comet.

They clashed.

In the middle of the stairs leading up to the Temple.

Saber dodged another blow from her enemy, the purple haired man covered his retreat with a slash of his long sword.

With a bit over a meter separating them, the swordsmen kept their eyes locked into the blade of their enemies.

Or he would, if he could see the blade of his enemy.

Saber had the advantage of her enemy not knowing the lenght of her sword, but the small space and the size of her opponent's weapon kept her from making any bold move.

It was a stalemate.

Before they could continue their fight, a red figure jumped over their head and making its way to the door of the temple.

Assassin looked up, frustrated at failing his only duty.

He moved, avoiding a blow that could have split him in two.

He wasn't looking forward to Caster yelling at him after this.

Back at the temple

Evil looked at his enemy laying on the ground, grunting in pain.

Their battle was short, unfortunately for the Witch, he physical capabiities were far surpased by the Masted Man.

Walking towards her and raising his blade, he was about to behead her when a voice interrupted him.

"Well, i didn't expect this"

Arriving at the scene, the Archer servant appeared.

Evil looked at the man, a weird feeling in his chest. His head hurt slightly and his stomach churned.

Was this what they called… disgust?

Yes, for some reason the man in red was disgusting to him, but why? He had no idea.

"So i was right, Emiya Shirou, you are the masked man of the other night"

Emiya Shirou? What did he want with the other guy?

Archer looked at the scene, an unconcious Caster and a destroyed temple, before looking at him again.

"What happened to the whole "saving everyone"? Is that ideal of yours truly so fickle?"

With a hoarse voice, Evil answered.

"Servants, dangerous"

Archer rose an eyebrow

"Defeat Servants, save people"

Archer narrowed his eyes.

This was wrong.

"Really? Then you consider Caster more dangerous than Berserker?"

Evil tilted his head, waiting for him to elaborate.

"Berserker is a monster, you know? Saber and I barely managed to defeat him the other day, but he still came back to life. You heard the news right? About the people falling unconcious around the city?
Who do you think did it?"

Archer looked at Caster, and Evil followed suit.

"Maybe Caster wants that energy to get rid of Berserker, or maybe she just needs that mana to not fade away".

Evil was conflicted.

On one hand, Caster was hurting innocent civilians by draining them of their energy, but none of them died. They were unconcious, yes, but nothing a few days of sleeping and eating healthy couldn't fix.

On the other hand, Berserker was perhaps the biggest threat in the war, a monster whose speed wasn't affected by his massive size, who could fight two servants at once and reach a stalemate.

A voice, deep inside his head, the voice of a tired man, whose dream both of them carried now was telling him to not listen, to end Caster right now to avoid possible casualties in the future.

The same voice, hardened by decades of assassinations and sacrifice told him to go away, that forcing Caster into an alliance to kill Berserker was the most optimal choice, as they could get rid of her after that.

The voices were silenced by the other guy, the one that wanted to save everyone, the one who allowed him, if unknowingly, to grow.

A deep sense of regret came over him, as he looked at the form of Caster.

He walked away.

He walked towards Archer, and stopped in front of him.

"You, correct"

Archer looked at him with a raised eyebrow.

"Caster, alliance, destroy… Berserker" it was getting dificult to speak.

"Deal with her, later"

Archer stared at him for a while, before nodding slowly.

"Emiya Shirou"

Archer's voice stopped him.

"You didn't answer my question, what about that ideal of yours?"

"Not, mine, i try, just his" (1)

Archer looked at him confused.

Evil walked towards the entrance of the temple, he wanted to go home.

"Who are you? Identify yourself!"

It was Saber, a few steps behind her, a defeated Assassin looked down at his fading form in disappointment.

"Sa-ber…"

Saber prepared herself for another fight, as the figure's hand went to his belt.

The armor disappeared, revealing-

"Shirou?!"

Her Master fell, unconcious.

She managed to grab him, before looking at the destroyed temple.

It was empty.

"You two should go now, my Master might not be happy if you stay longer than you should"

Assassin spoke, before fading away in golden motes of light.

The first servant of the war was defeated.

Saber stood silent for a minute, in respect for the fallen swordsman, before making her way down the stairs, where their allies, Rider and her Master, waited for them.

Once again, her Master had a lot of explaining to do.

Hello again!

A shorter chapter this time, since i didn't have a lot of free time lately, but a sudden flash of inspiration appeared in my minds eye, beckoning me to write this… thing.

I hope this chapter was

n't confusing. Since Angra is regaining more and more conciousness,
I had him remember things that Shirou does, in a way the he remembers them, but has never actually felt them, this is why he remembers Kiritsugu after the war, as the tired man full of regrets that raised Shirou, while the Angra part of him still remembers the Kiritsugu during the war.

What i want to do with Angra now, is make him more of an anti hero, as shown during the last part of the chapter.
On one hand, he shares the ideal of a Hero of Justice with Shirou, but he is willing to let other people get hurt, as long as they don't die, to accomplish his objective.

Which is why he feels remorseful for basically spitting on Shirou's dream by letting Caster live, something Shirou wouldn't have done. Thus, when Shirou becomes aware of Angra's prescence, it's what serves as their conflict.

Yes, he refers to Shirou as "The other guy", at first, i wanted to go the Venom route, refering to himself in plural, but i wasn't convinced. Plus, at this point, he doesn't really consider himself as part of Shirou, but rather a "room mate" or a "brother". It's because of this, after seeing Saber and Berserker fight, he reached the conclusion of "Servants dangerous, must eliminate them" as he wants to save people and protect Shirou.

Another thing, in the original story, by this point, the only direct interaction Shirou and Archer had was a conversation after Shirou saves Rin from Rider's nail in the school.

Obviously, this didn't happen this time around because Rin wasn't there to make Archer walk Shirou home, so what happened is that, after Shirou and Sakura return to his home, Rin calls him to stablish their alliance after he saved her, they meet at his house, Sakura and Rin have an awkward time, until Rin leaves, while Archer stays behind for a bit to have his conversation with Shirou outside his house.

I totally didn't forget about it, no sir.

Yes, the other Shirou Archer mentions at the beginning is an Amazons reference, with Shirou taking Haruka's place.

The "Bond" Angra mentions when he talks about the Belt is a bit of a secondary effect due to his nature as a Spirit and the Bat Vistamp, in reality i just needed an excuse to not have him carry the belt around like an idiot. Don't think too much about it, it's just like how the Ex Aid Riders carry around that massive thing...somewhere in their coats i guess.

Also, when Saber appeared in the first chapter, Evil had already disappeared, which is why she didn't recognize him this chapter.

To the user Squeegeman, i'm really sorry for not answering your last PM, as i said before i've been really busy and when i got home i immediately started writing this chapter as to not lose my inspiration. I'm honestly curious about your Saber x DxD idea, but i'm honestly not sure how i could help you with that.

To TheOkWritter, thanks for letting me know about the bolding of the Author's note, i remember clearly editing them, but maybe i forgot to update the chapter.
Also, could you let me know what you didn't like about last chapter? I appreciate any kind of (constructive) criticism, as i said before, this is the first story i've ever written and i'm still getting the hang of it.

Rip Demons, when rewatching the last episodes of Revice, Evility Live simply works better for what i want.

One last thing, would you guys like me to make omakes/interlude chapters? I've had the idea of Rin and Archer as Revi and Vice for a while, in a Carnival Phantasm-esque chapter after the end of the story.

I even have an idea for a "Summer Movie" chapter, also post series. Maybe i'll write it soon.

That would be everything for this chapter, thanks again for reading!

Also i forgot about Shinji last chapterxd, he honestly won't have much participation in the story, so just imagine Sakura called the police and had him arrested for Ayako's kidnapping or somethingxd.
