Being alone in the tub, Shirou allowed himself to rest.

The "Caster incident" had been a surprise, but not a welcome one. Apparently, he had made his way up to the temple in the middle of the night, the Servant had hipnotized him and made him go to her territory to do… something to him, and they ended up fighting, or so he thought.

The problem was that "he" didn't fight Caster.

A chill went down his spine.

Saber mentioned the black armor "he" was wearing after she arrived after defeating the Assassin Servant in battle. But Live didn't have a black armor configuration, in fact, after running experiments with the Jackal Stamp, Karizaki-san insisted he stick to the Base Live, as the "Extra" Vistamps were too unstable to use safely in battle.

Which led to his current dilemma.

What actually happened?

After waking up, a few hours ago, he felt the usual exhaustion of using Live after a brutal battle, but he didn't remember fighting that night.

According to Saber, she found him alone in the Temple, no Caster in sight, which led her to drag his unconcious body down the stairs to avoid a possible trap. But that didn't make sense, why did Caster bother to control him, only to disappear before meeting him? It didn't make sense.

He took a deep breath trying to push those thoughts away, and relaxed, trying to enjoy the heat of the bath but failing.

Failing to see his reflection in the bathroom mirror tilting His head, looking at him.

At the door of the Emiya Residence

A man stood in front of the door, dressed in an expensive set of clothes, covered by a lab coat, wearing thick framed glasses slightly tinted an orange color. The man would pass as a professional person, a doctor maybe visiting a patient after an urgent call, if it wasn't for the multiple toys in his person.

He was carrying a silver case.

Attached to his coat, the mini plushies of Zero One, Saber and Kuuga were sitting still, until the man lifted his hand, lighly knocking the door.

"A second please!" the voice of a young woman answered.

The door opened. A purple haired girl was standing in front of him.

"Oh? Karizaki-san? Senpai didn't tell me you would come!" Sakura Matou moved a bit, letting the man enter the house.

"I'm sorry!" The man replied in english, "Shirou called me the other day but i've been busy working on something, i just finished so i decided to come here directly"

Sakura nodded, Senpai had told her that he needed to talk to Karizaki-san about something, but when the man rejected their dinner invitation they assumed he was taking care of something important.

"I'm afraid Senpai is taking a bath right now, but you can stay until he's done if you want, i was just preparing tea"

George nodded, he had the entire day free, so it didn't bother him, besides, he really wanted some of her tea.

A few minutes later, George was sitting in front of the table, a cup of steaming green tea in his hands, trying to ignore the other two women in the room with him, a blonde girl and a lavender haired woman, who were also enjoying a cup of their own.

Sakura seemed to find the "tension" extremely funny, considering her snickers.

George was about to ask for a refill, until the owner of the house came into the room.

Oh thank god he's here

The women in front of him made him extremely nervous.

"Karizaki-san? I thought you were busy." Shirou spoke, breaking the silence of the room.

"I was, Shirou, but i just finished the project i was working on, so i decided to accept the invitation of the other day, i sure hope i'm not intruding in something."

The man casted a quick look to the women sitting.

Shirou catched the look, and immediately understood.

"Don't worry about that, Sakura and i were just about to make dinner" Shirou moved closer to the table.

"Oh right, i have to introduce you" Shirou took the empty cups from the table

"She is Saber, she was a friend of the Old Man who came here for work, i offered her a room here since her luggage was lost and didn't have a lot of money" Shirou pointed to the blonde girl.

"And she is Rider, she's Sakura's aunt" That was the cover they were going with.

The estranged, dishinherited sister of Byakuya Matou, just discovered the death of her father and how her poor nephes were living alone, came to the city to take care of them.

George look at them for a second, before introducing himself.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, my name is George Karizaki, i'm a doctor" His introduction was basic and curt, anyone else would consider him a serious man, but his clothes betrayed him.

"Don't worry Karizaki-san, they know." George looked at his young friend, about to open his mouth when Shirou interrupted him.

"So does Sakura, right? Karizaki-san?" Oh dear, he was mad.

"Listen Shirou, i know you're mad, but-"

"But? But?! This was supposed to be a secret! I remember you telling me to never involve outsiders with this but you go and tell Sakura about everything?!"

"But Shirou!" George cried in english "It's drama! Like how Aunt May discovered Peter's identity! Besides, you think i didn't take that into consideration?! Please don't doubt my genius!"

The man lifted the case he had been carrying, opening it revealing a blue and black buckle, alongside two other Vistamps.

George smiled, excited.

Shirou looked, baffled.

Saber and Rider watched them, curious.

Sakura laughed.

"No."

"Shirou-"

"No!"

"At least let me finish!"

"No! Are you crazy?! You told me that thing was a prototype!"

"A prototype i just finished!"

"´Just finished´?! You mean you haven't even tested it?!"

….

"Well when you say it like that-"

"Exactly my point!"

The Servants in the house watched the interaction between both men, almost surprised by how… unprofessional the doctor acted.

According to what Shirou told them of him, George Karizaki was the man who designed the Armor he uses to fight, a genius scientist who has spent years of his life fighting Spirits.

A man of commitment, focus, and sheer will, dedicated to his mission.

They expected a jaded old man, tired from fighting, now letting the younger generation help him to ease his burden.

Not an excentric manchild.

"Besides" Shirou spoke "Do you expect Sakura to fight with no prior experience? Wasn't the Simulator broken?"

The Simulator being the place where he used to train his body to acclimate to the Live System, unfortunately, it was destroyed a few months ago after a failure with a Vistamp.

Rider now directed her attention to the Doctor.

Did he really want Sakura to fight those Spirits? She didn't have anything against it, according to the stories Shirou told them, the Spirits are usually weak, with a rare stronger, more intelligent one appearing every few months, so she wasn't really worried about Sakura getting hurt.

If anything, it could serve as extra protection if they encounter another Servant.

George seemed to notice how he was the point of attention of the woman, as he struggled a bit to speak.

"W-Well yes, i'm still working on fixing that. But that's where YOU come in" he pointed at the redhead.

"So you want me to train with her?" It was obvious what George meant, but this wasn't the first time the man made a seemingly dumb question only to make fun of him.

"Of course! You are the Senpai here aren't you? Besides, with two Servants with you, what could go wrong?"

Of course he knows…

Shirou tried to ignore the look Saber was sending him.

"So you know then? About the Grail War?" Saber spoke for the first time.

George refused to look at ther.

"Yes, i know

I was there during the Fourth War ten years ago, after all" his voice was deep, a serious expression on his face.

Shirou and George were still, looking at each other silently.

"I already knew that"

"Whaaaat?!" George was shocked, before taking a deep breath.

"Why are you so suprised?! You told me that a year ago!"

"I'm just being dramatic Shirou! Would it kill you to play along with me for once?! This was the moment the mentor reveals the shocking truth to the hero!"

"You're calling yourself a mentor?! All you do is

stayin your house while I am the one risking his life!"

George was about to reply, unwilling to lose the discussion, before Sakura interrupted them.

"Senpai, dinner is ready"

Shirou and George traded looks, a single thought in their minds

This isn't over.

An hour later, after dinner.

Dinner was a lively affair, much to Sakura's amusement.

Shirou and George kept looking at each other, waiting for one of them to start the argument again, while Saber devoured everything she looked at.

Sakura and Rider agreed, internally, to lock the fridge and pantries as much as possible to avoid running out of supplies thanks to the Servant of the sword.

Now, Scientist and apprentice were inside the shed.

The moment they entered, Shirou knew this was a serious matter, George was never so quiet unless he had bad news.

George looked around, finding the different objects Shirou had made using his Projection magecraft, then looked at the floor, where a broken lightbulb and the shrapnel was.

"No improvements with your Magecraft?"

"The usual, four out of ten objects explode when i use Reinforcement" Shirou knew George was stalling.

Magecraft wasn't as interesting as Technology, according to his own words.

George hummed, finding a clean spot to sit. Shirou did the same.

For a moment, the shed was silent, before George spoke.

"Mind telling me what happened in the Temple?"

Shirou looked away, making him sigh.

"You don't know then?"

Shirou nodded.

"Then, let me show you something" pulling out his sticker-covered phone, George showed him the readings of the Live System.

Giving the phone to Shirou, he let him have a closer look.

Nothing.

There was no reading for the Live System, except the one from a few days ago in the forest outside the school.

Shirou looked at George, confused.

"W-What does this mean then?"

"It's what i'm trying to figure out

The Live System hasn't recorded any new fights or readings recently, so i started investigating what could be happening with you" George was lying, and Shirou knew that.

But he trusted the man.

George was an excentric person, someone who kept his own secrets, who knew that Shirou had his own secrets, but never pushed.

Shirou trusted the man, so he let him lie to him.

"Alright, if… whatever this is happens again, i'll let you know"

George nodded, grateful at him for not pushing the matter.

"Now, about that new, untested, Driver" Shirou's tone made him nervous again.

"You want Sakura to use it?" Shirou didn't like that, his own first battle with a Spirit almost failed because the Live system had a failure mid fight, it almost costed him an arm.

"I want Sakura to use it, while you're there to help in case something goes wrong" George wasn't willing to risk someone's life because of an untested Driver.

Not again.

George held the case, giving it to Shirou.

"I've detected a possible Spirit, it's going to materialize in a few hours. Give the Belt to Sakura, let her try it for a bit before going to fight it" George spoke, his voice serious.

Shirou took the case, it was unexpectedly light, unlike the one that held his own Belt.

"By the way, i found a way to stabilize the Jackal Vistamp, you can try it during the fight, if you want"

Shirou hummed, the Jackal Vistamp was the only one to be made especifically for the Live system, unlike Bat , which could be used in other Systems, according to George.

George stood up, cleaning his expensive pants of dust, before offering his hand to Shirou, helping him stand up.

"Be safe out there, all of you" George almost begged.

Shirou nodded, and shook George's hand.

The doctor left the shed, and a few minutes later he was on his way home.

The man stopped suddenly, and pulled out his phone, before cursing.

Tomorrow was the anniversary of Kiritsugu's death.

And with the other Servant in the Temple, it was pretty risky to visit the place, especially for Shirou.

He'd have to buy some flowers in his place.

And if the Servant tried something while he was there? Well…

George moved his hand behind his back, inside his coat.

Where a gold and black Driver waited for it's first test run.

Hello again everyone! I hope you all had a great week!

As you all could tell, my original intention was to make short, 1500-2000 words chapters and post them every four days, however…

I got a job! I was pretty nervous because i wasn't sure if i would be approved, but i was!

Sooo yeah, i've been a bit busy this days, but i won't let this story go unfinished, i decide how it ends, after all.

The new plan is posting a chapter every sunday, my free day every week.

Which also gives me time to rewatch certain episodes of Revice, i had honestly forgotten how much i liked the Volcano episode, and how much Daiji's arc lasted.

I was supposed to post this yesterday buuut there was a blackout in my neighbourhood, so i had to wait to post this until now.

I hope you all liked the chapter, much more simple this time around.
Mainly because i wanted to introduce George already, besides starting the Shirou-Angra arc too.

Sakura as Jeanne! I had planned it since the beginning, but my problem was when to do it.

Juuga! Or at least a prototype version of it, made by George as a birthday gift to himself.

I hope you liked George's interactions with Shirou, in my mind, Shirou would be the straight man of the relationship, having to deal with George watching too much TV sometimes.

A small hint! George is a bit uneasy around women! Or maybe with Servants in particular? Perhaps a bad experience from the Fourth war…

I

don't thing i was clear enough so to avoid confussion, this happens the day after the Caster fight, Shirou spent most of the day sleeping, he woke up, explained things to Saber, takes a bath and George arrives, they have dinner, and George leaves shortly after.

Speaking of which, George doesn't like Magecraft, he thinks it's boring.

I am purposefully making Saber and Rider not have a lot of things to do right now, mostly because i plan to make special chapters for them as Interludes.

Next chapter should be Jeanne's debut, alongside Live Jackal Form.

And i think at this point i

t's kinda obvious, but Sakura will have her own Lovekov, or at least something similar.

That would be all for today's chapter, i hope all of you have a wonderful week, and remember:

Vesper bought a fucking spear.
