Chapter 4:
The End of One's Journey
Time is eternal.
No mortal has the power to stop the stream from flowing through. Like a river, the same water will not pass twice the moment it passed.
Without her help, everything will be for naught.
Not just for him, but also for her.
The state of the universe was in jeopardy, she knew, and she tried to come up with a way out. But time and time again these mortals continue to betray her and challenged her for a war they cannot win.
The Goddess of Honkai watched in silence, staring at him with disappointment.
In her point of view, humanity has always been a mistake, but his existence cast aside her doubts and for the first time she felt there was a glimmer of hope; but in the end, he was no different; a human that was filled with greed, envy, deceit, and lies.
"Such a pity." She thought to herself.
The everlasting dimension of white is now in turmoil, the branches of the imaginary tree shook violently under the strong gale each petal was plucked forcefully, raining upon them relentlessly. Above their heads, stygian clouds gather, and lightning flashes, dancing through the stygian ominous clouds in its brilliance spark of gold filled with anger. Then thunder roared, and the beam of light flashed in their vision before it struck between them, the impact caused the concrete of white across her to buckle, a crater of spiderweb cracks left behind in its wake alongside the trail of smoke fluttering in the air.
Right on cue, they moved in tandem to each other attack.
With his heels encased in lightning, he rushed towards her, diving into the clouds of smoke and engaging her in close combat. Swinging his fist, the clouds of smoke dispersed; his punch was countered by her own and the impact send a shockwave around them. Their eyes glared at one another and with no room left for negotiations he continued with his attack.
The mortal was aiming towards her head which she simply leaned back, dodging the incoming fist with ease she simply retaliated by swinging her right foot, trashing her heel at the speed of light hitting him right on his rib. A shockwave erupted from the impact sending him flying towards the Imaginary Tree, his back hitting the trunk hard.
The mortal had his eyes widened, holding the open wound whilst his vision began to distort, trying to get back on his feet he slightly swoons in his steps, before tumbling down to the ground with blood trailing down his lips.
"Fuck!"
The pain was unbearable.
"Focus, here she comes again!" God Kiana alerted, snapping him back to reality.
Using the momentum of his fall, his mouth puckered before he blew his breath sending a gust of wind to the ground beneath him, propelling him a couple of meters backward and barely avoiding the incoming heel.
Boom!
The ground beneath her feet shattered sending the fragments flying in the air, the Deity simply cleared the dust from her robe before rushing towards him. Kent swept away the blood streaming down his mouth, the pain he felt on his rib subdued as his healing factor kicked in.
With no chance to rest, the mortal side-stepped and barely dodged her fist, as she managed to graze his cheek causing blood to ooze out. Seeing his chance, Kent gripped her right shoulder and overthrew her to the ground startling the Deity who was soon consumed by a strike of lightning.
The thunder roared in its glorious form, taking a form of a dragon that swallowed her as a whole, exploding right in front of him causing the world to erupt in a brilliant light of gold leaving behind a trail of a mushroom cloud and crackling of lightning.
Kent narrowed his eyes before jumping back to see her protected in a dome of golden light.
Within the dome of golden translucent energy, the God of Honkai cleared the smoke that engulfed her, watching her standing back on her feet he saw her covered in bruises and burn marks whilst the robe she worn is now tainted by the color of burned and some of the fabrics were torn showing her prominent feminine figure to the world.
Lifting her hand to the air, she took one deep breath, and with a sweep of her hand, she exclaimed.
"Fall."
Kent's eyes widened as he could feel the mass around him multiply, the pressure weighing him down to the ground causing his feet to buckle and hit the ground hard. The mortal struggled to get back on his feet, the feeling was like carrying a million galaxies on his back as the Deity forced him to kneel in front of her.
The Goddess was satisfied, watching him prostrating in front of her brought a smile to her face. The Deity then walks towards him, before kneeling on her knee and gently patting him on the head. Her hand reached towards his chin pulling his attention from her eyes. "What a pitiful state you're in Kent, prostrating to a Deity you don't worship." She started her words filled with amusement and joy as she used her hand to cover his vision and whispered the words to his ears.
"Now abandon humanity and become mine"
Above the heavens, the sound of glass shattered filled the dimension before a string of white made its way towards him, connecting to the back of his head and slowly corrupting him. The Goddess observes in silence, watching him falling into the abyss as the thread envelops him like a cocoon, slowly transforming him into a puppet she desires.
She was excited.
Her happiness came to an abrupt end when she heard the sound of water rippling, and her vision was soon shrouded in the color of gold.
Her eyes widened feeling the pain strike her in the neck.
Kent gritted, realizing the blade was struggling to pierce her thick layer of skin before dropping his hands on the handle of the thunder seven retribution. The sword then shattered to dust and the Goddess glared at him in anger, her wrath was soon to be known as the sky cower under her strength.
The last human stood across and for the first time felt the fear engulfing his heart, as he stares at the Deity with a trail of sweat trickling down his cheek.
"How dare you did that to me!" She snarled furiously, anger engulfing her vision, the power that was once radiated with life soon changed as everything around her wither. The sky that was once his domain surrendered to her will and the lightning flashed violently above the heavens, golden energy dancing on her fingertips whilst her eyes glowed in a brilliant color of gold.
"I will end your existence with this." Goddess of Honkai announced. "I'm the overseer of the worlds, the guardian over universes, yet you dare to trample over me and tried to kill me in my sanctuary. May the Heavens witness your defeat and bury your past in the dirt of the abyss."
Kent braced himself for the incoming attack, layers of defenses shrouding his body, thinking back to it he realized that he was decisive but that alone wasn't enough. Gathering his thoughts, the mortal eyes watch as the attack fall upon him.
"Judgment."
Kent's vision was shrouded in white, the attack swept him away alongside the sea of Quanta. There was no pain nor were there any remains left behind.
He was dead.
Kent, the savior of humanity lost the divine battle,
She closed her eyes shut, lifting her hand up she was satisfied with this outcome. Once again, the same golden energy shrouded her entire form before she cast her power for the second time and restored time to the dimension.
However, what came next was unexpected.
Kent kicked her in the back of her head hard causing her to slightly flinch before glaring at him.
"This is impossible!" she widened in disbelief and grabbed his incoming heel, twisting it he screamed in pain. The Deity then thrust her hand forward, and a beam of golden energy condensed on the palm of her right hand, she then directed it to him, and the attack consumed him, destroying his body to the molecular level.
Cleaning the dust on her robe she was perplexed when a blade made of lightning pierced her chest, not just one time but a total of sixty-four times.
"Sixty-Four Thunder of Retribution" Kent exclaimed watching her body become paralyzed. "How amusing, God." He spat the word, mocking her as she lost control of her movements and braced upon the consecutive attack.
The Goddess snarled when she was punched once again, the mortal that she held dearly was going on a rampage, her nose was shattered, and her cheeks were swollen. The layers of her defense were pierced by his attack, there was no chance for her to retaliate.
The Goddess was beaten pretty badly, her vision was distorted, her breath became heavier and with each passing second, she feels like she was losing consciousness.
"Judgement."
Will of Honkai was bewildered, the attack she had cast minutes ago was now being cast upon her.
This mortal is dangerous.
The deity watched as her attack swept her across her sanctuary, destroying everything in its path. When the attack dispersed, he stood there alone, and the Deity was on the ground, covered in bruises and injuries with golden blood trickling down her body.
He panted, realizing he has exhausted himself.
"How thrilling, Kent!" The goddess exclaimed with a smirk, appearing right beside him the deity, he took down across him dissolved in golden particles causing his eyes to widen. "It seems you can copy everything, but I wonder…would you be able to endure it more than once?"
Divine lightning shrouded him as he ran away trying to avoid her incoming barrage of fists, she was faster than him and eventually caught up, two golden lights flashing everywhere in the presence of the dying Imaginary Tree, avoiding, dodging, retaliating; he did everything he could until her fist connected to his cheek sending him away, falling to the depth of the sea of quanta.
"Judgement!"
The sea split in half as her attack connected to the surface, causing a huge tsunami whilst he got hit by her attack. The attack doesn't end there as his eyes widened when the clouds began to fall, trampling him down in their condensed weight.
He was on the receiving end, and she was enjoying every moment of her life to finish his life.
The battle continues on and on, with the minutes gone and turned into hours, hours turned into days and days turned into years, again and again, she killed him with her bare hands yet with the same outcome he was back on his knees and retaliated.
How?
Her eyes widened in realization before he saw him smirking.
"All this time…I was the fooled one."
Trapping her in an illusion without ending, she should've realized it from the beginning, yet her failure deserves no excuse.
Well played, Hero.
Kent was losing his breath, the Imaginary Tree has crumbled down to the ground, leaving no trace behind but a core; the core that radiates with life.
To achieve the impossible, he used the power of sentience to trap the Will of Honkai in an infinite battle with himself, but that alone wouldn't be enough to divert her attention. The imaginary tree was sentient, and refused to cooperate, forcing his way into it took much of his power, and now he realized that he is fighting against time itself.
Yet a part of him feels guilty, the universes he trampled because of his selfish desire; killing the billions of lives just to get what he wants is unforgivable. He was a sinner, a sinner that aspires for a better world; a world with no Honkai, a world where everything thrives, a world with freedom, love, and happiness.
"Stop guilt tripping"
She's right, within a matter of seconds, the Will of Honkai will probably realize that everything she has experienced was akin to a lucid dream, and now in his most weakened state he needs to pass down his will into this core, or else everything will be for naught.
The core of life that creates an infinite universe was now in the mercy of his hand, without the Herrscher of the End's help such a thing would be impossible.
"Hurry Kent!"
"Okay…" He nodded, struggling to breathe properly as he stares down at the translucent core in his hands, his mouth twitching, whispering the very thing he desire. "I- "
Before he could pass down his will, the fabric of reality fractured and the Goddess of Honkai slammed him down to the ground, the core in his hands shattered in the process.
Kent's breath hitched.
No.
No…
This is not possible.
She came out faster than he anticipated.
"How amusing," The Goddess remarked, noticing the shattered fragment on the ground and the decayed Imaginary Tree. "Your life will not be enough to fix the things you have done, mortal."
She reached out to him, pulling him towards her, glaring into his eyes. "This is the end for you and your dreams…" She trailed off, once again in that span of seconds she saw how pitiful he is. "Everything you did is for naught, a failure to the very end. Does such ending satisfy you, Hero of Humanity!" She exclaimed in furry.
No…
It doesn't…
But what else was he supposed to do…
He did enough…
Elysia…
His thought went over towards her, she was a dear friend, a lover that loves him till the very end and in the end, he betrayed her, he abandoned her when she needed him the most. But the promise they made never faltered, after all…even in his dying breath he was still true to himself.
"I'm sorry…Elysia." He whispered, ignoring the presence of the Goddess herself, the memories of the past resurfaced, one by one he relieving them again for the final moment. The seconds that turned into minutes, the more his consciousness left him.
The Deity threw him over the ground before assembling the shattered fragments in their purest form, she was exhausted, no doubt the illusion took more of her power, and whether she likes it or not he did win against her.
She has seen everything, his memories, his dreams, his desire…it was indeed beautiful, but it's a pity he refused to cooperate.
The imaginary tree is dead, there's no point in reversing time for something so trivial, but instead, she will grant him his wish, his desire…with her touch. She passed down their will to the core of life, imbuing it with her power, the last portion of her power; with this, she will fall to sleep, perhaps it will take eons for her to wake up from her deep slumber, but that's fine for her.
The core of life glow brightly, and its brilliant light took over her whole sanctuary, Kent in the last seconds of his life saw her standing still before collapsing to the ground, the Deity's eyes widened, and her vision was distorting whilst her mind was attacked.
"What's this...?" She frowned in disbelief, realizing something has penetrated her thoughts, like a virus plaguing every corner of her brain. The headache became unbearable as she holds the back of her head and screamed painfully. Hitting her body on the ground she realized she was slowly losing control of herself.
"I'm here to assist you, Dr. Kent."
Kent's eyes widened, this voice…it was Prometheus.
The AI Dr. Mobius has developed is here…but how?
The Will of Honkai gritted her teeth, as she moved towards his side, refusing to be taken down here by these mere mortals.
"Thus, she quoted; you've done your best…now leave the rest to me."
There's no mistaking it, that's indeed Prometheus.
But he was too weak to say anything and soon with his last breath he dies with a satisfied smile on his face.
The Goddess of Honkai was losing her consciousness, within minutes she was losing control of her entire body and time was racing against her.
"Just a little more."
"It's pointless, God. This is your demise."
She heard the voice inside her thoughts, but that doesn't stop her from her reaching her goal. She forced herself to move, breathing hard she eventually reached to his side. The satisfaction on his dying face brought anger to her face, grabbing his face she kissed him hard, forcing herself into him,
"I will not die…in the hands of you humans…" The Deity responded one last time before her whole consciousness was taken over by the AI.
Prometheus stare at the deceased member of the Flame-Chaser, she hid well for eons, watching him fought the Herrscher of the End, and now here she is helping him achieve their goals. There's no more time to waste, now in possession of the Will of Honkai's body, she grabbed the core of life and planted it on the ground, clasping both her hands, the whole everlasting dimension of white illuminates in gold.
A young tree sapling sprouts out of the ground, and the AI falls asleep.
In a world without Honkai…the AI knew that day will eventually come, and now humanity succeeding in achieving that dream.
If only Prometheus knew that the core it recently planted housed the will of the Honkai Goddess, a world of destruction soon awaits plunging humanity into a greater abyss.
Within the darkness Kent stood in silence, staring at the ruins city as the world was engulfed in the sea of flame, destruction occurring in every corner of the world and he stood there on top of the million lives he has taken, battles ensued everywhere against people he knew, the battle that brought the destruction of the previous era into shame before the same flames consuming his body, screaming in agony the mortal reached his ending and his voice became dimmed and silence, swallowed by the flames of destruction.
He woke up with a scream, drenched in sweats the young man was greeted by the sight of a sun-kissed yellow ceiling. The sound of alarm ringing caught his mind, diverting his attention toward the source of the sound, and stare at his smartphone in silence.

2013.
Time did reverse…but is that all to it?
What was that dream he just saw? Was that the future that bounds to happen in this life…?
For some reason, he recalled her words.
Time is eternal, everything that lies from here onward will never corrode. Even if you turned back time, the past would forever haunt you. A fragment is all that you became, and everlasting time will swallow everything. Your past will once again be buried by the sand of time, forgotten by the people you care about.
He closed his eyes and clenched his right hand into a fist.
It seems he cannot let his guard down in this life either.
"Kent wakes up! It's time for school!"
School?
His eyes widened, realizing the source of the voice was before slapping his cheeks to regain his bearings.
For now… let's make the best of these moments.
Author Note: Hi! Sorry, it took me some time to finish writing this chapter. Would anyone be kind enough and help me beta-reading this story? Aside from that, again I noticed people asking me to update the Strongest Human, Legend Among Yokai etc etc, unfortunately, for now, I don't plan on updating them...that's for now though since I'm focusing more on Uni life. But after I graduate, I might reconsider updating my old stories. Anyway, once again the pairing for this fic is Kent x Elysia x Mei x Kiana so yeah, no changing that. Since this is an original fic mixed with Honkai Impact element feel free to DM me your own character, and I might add you guys to the story, oh and make sure to tell me which character you wanna be paired with inlcuding your powers, organization you wanna be in. I have fun writing this fic and I cannot believe Honkai Impact is going to end soon, I hope not but if its ends then hopefully they gonna make another Honkai Impact game with genshin impact gameplay but a more fluid and more exciting battle (genshin kinda boring, especially the lore lol). With this concludes the fourth chapter, and the end for his journey yet a new one awaited him. Drop by a favorite, a follow and a review to help me improve in my writing
