All right everyone, from this moment onward we will be saying goodbye to the DBZSuper universe and starting the journey! Remember, I chose DBZSuper as the crossover universe mainly because the story starts there AND a character from that universe will be joining Hikari on her journey. Who did I choose? Well...You'll see (grins).

I want the next world to be a surprise so I'm not going to put the disclaimer here, instead it will go at the end of the chapter. All other disclaimers will return to their usual spot up here.

With that said, let's do this!

Chapter 7: Fractured States

Hikari sprang awake, her eyes darting about the unfamiliar room. Thinking she had been kidnapped or something her first instinct was to scream her fears. Before such could happen, a face came into her line of vision. It was a man with an odd mohawk and what seemed like kohl lined eyes.

"Hikari-san...Breathe...You are alright. It's me...Shin."

Blinking the fatigue away, awareness set in. Wait...Wasn't he some short purple alien...thing?

"I have changed my form, Max's as well." Shin explained. "You fainted after your first battle."

"Where's Max?" She had half a heart to disbelieve this man but the fact that he knew Max…

"He is getting information for us." Shin told her. "Please relax. You are fine. You are safe."

Hikari felt the tension leave her form. She was now clear headed and able to fully see the small space. She recognized a traditional tatami room anywhere and the futon she was currently sitting on. She also noticed Shin's attire...it looked like he was wearing some kind of fatigue...green pants and a vest with many pockets. Around his forehead was a headband with an odd symbol in the middle.

"Where...are we…?"

"I am unsure of that myself but...I do know one thing...We are in another plane of existence...Another realm."

Hikari froze. How long had she been sleeping THIS time!? This was getting ridiculous!

Hikari let out a deep breath as the information was told to her. "OKAY. The moment I fainted, you, Max, and Whis took me to see the Zen-samas? Who are the Zen-samas?"

"The most powerful beings in my realm." Shin explained. "There was hardly any time to speak of what needed to be done...When they had been attacked themselves."

The Zen-samas? Attacked? Whoa….

"Before anything could occur, the Zen-samas sent you, myself, and Max through a door, locking it behind us." Shin frowned. "I hope...Everything is okay in my realm…" He shook his head. "Anyway, we ended up in a forest and I disguised us with the same clothes as some passing locals. Everyone here is apparently human thus I also had to change mine and Max's forms. We were lucky that we landed near a local town, though it appears the people here call this place a village."

Hikari plopped onto the tatami bedding...this was just all too surreal for her…First she finds out her friend Raven wanted to hurt her, then she finds out she's from another world, and not to mention a weapon that looks like a key…

"Are you alright? Do you need more healing?" Shin asked her, worried over her state. This guy sure tended to worry a lot...

"No...Just...Overwhelmed…" Hikari took her face in her hands. "So much happening and I haven't been able to well...Cope…" Removing her hands she raised an eyebrow at him. "I take it you haven't had much human interaction…"

"The only true humans I know are Goku's friends from Earth." Shin confessed. "Though we are not quite well acquainted even then. I hardly know most of their names…" He paused. "In fact, I believe you are the youngest human I have ever met…"

"Great...Give me a prize!" Hikari's sarcasm was clear as day. Realizing how horrible she was sounding she rose from the bedding and said, "Sorry...I'm just-"

"Overwhelmed." Shin used her own word. "Do not worry, I understand…This must be a trying situation for you…"

"Yeah…" Hikari nodded. "That's putting it lightly...wait…Why did you come?"

It was Shin's turn to go silent. "Well...I suppose I came on accident...It was a very intense situation...I...Guess I was placed in the middle of it." He smiled. "But...that is a good thing...In order to go to other places, we must blend in with the beings that live there. I am able to do such with my abilities."

"Oh...I guess that IS helpful…"

The main door slid open, revealing Max. As Shin had stated, he DID look very human and was wearing similar clothes to Shin's. Closing the door behind him Max sat on the mat in front of them.

"Well...Looks like this place is run by ninja." Max stated. "And…" He eyed Shin. "Apparently people think we're ninja."

"Ninja?" Shin blinked. "What is that?"

"It isn't good...Because the moment people figure out we aren't ninja we're screwed." Max said.

"Well how was I supposed to know!? It was a spur of the moment thing!" Shin defended himself.

"Hey! Hey! Guys! Don't start!" Hikari said, not wanting a fight right now. "Why don't we just leave here and find someplace else to go?"

"Because this guy…" Max pointed an accusing thumb at Shin. "Copied our outfits from ninja that work here...in THIS village."

"Hey! It isn't my fault!" Shin again had to defend his actions. How was ANY of this his fault!?

"They're going to find out we aren't ninja!" Max glared at him. "Then your 'order' mess will be completely screwed up-"

"Will you two just SHUT UP!?"

Hikari's shout caused the two to look her away. Sighing she pinched the bridge of her nose.

"Wait…" She got an idea. "Shin...Can you...alter our outfits a bit? Just enough to make people think we aren't from this village?"

The being nodded. "Yes...Of course…However, I believe a symbol on our foreheads is required…"

"Just...Make something up...I'm sure it'll be fine!" Hikari said.

"Alright...I will...see what I can do…"

Already this...so called adventure was looking to be a headache. Hikari had a feeling Max and Shin would NOT get along, not in the least bit. It was still kind of cool to know she was somewhere else other than her home...Home...could she really call Bulma's realm her home now? Besides, this was normal for her...Hikari had been to multiple places before...why not multiple realms?

"Wait...Shin…" Hikari addressed the being again. "You said...we got here through some door?"

"Yes…" Shin nodded. "According to Elder Kai, each realm of existence has a doorway...This doorway is the only way to get in or out of the realm. It is a well guarded secret amongst kamis in my realm. Each door is different though…"

Hikari paused. "What's...the doorway to Max's and mine's realm look like?" Maybe if she found this door she could see her birth parents…

Shin shook his head. "That I am not certain of, though I can only imagine it must be grand...The Door to Light…And hidden in a most secret place. My realm's door was called the Door to Strength."

"Does each realm connect to a specific realm? We went through your realm's door and ended up here..." Max asked and again Shin shook his head.

"Again, I'm not sure, though I can only assume." The being sighed. "I'm sorry...I do not know as much as I should." He frowned. "Though the evil force that invaded my realm…Worries me greatly…"

"We can deal with it later…" Hikari stretched. "I...Kinda wanna see this place anyway." Getting out of this room might help clear her head a bit.

"Not until the idiot changes our outfits." Max started again and Shin glared at him.

"Have some respect! Mind you I'm a kai! A being of higher existence than you!"

Max crossed his arms. "Says the idiot that didn't even know about his own realm's door!"

Hikari smacked her forehead...This was definitely going to be a LONG journey.
