The illusion faded away as Rigby looks down,' Just like the legends of old, Xo did suffer hatred and greed. We swear we aren't their' Link seems not made about it, 'Why Red lotus attack Steven at cost of what other than to feed their anger.'

Link decides to shift into a wolf Link to howl for attention, the edephocevia decides to aid the knights before attacking the deers.

Link turns to normal to inform, 'guys I'm going to get the oryx while you round up the deer before anyone gets hurt.' The winged oryx got mad,' You manage to foil my plan, let's see how you like it.' Crowmon summoned a spear-like before shoving into the hippo captain while Link watched in horror,' Captain, noo. You monster.'

The blood moon rose to indicate the coming calamity, Link dared to look up before seeing a massive flaming eye filled with malice. All Link can do is stared are his point of view becomes darkness. Goliath attempts to glide away but is shaken from the sheer sight of the fire eye, Rex tries to run away but blacks out from intense pain surging from the malice.

Link is protecting injured Hippo after being impaled by a scythe from a raven-like darknaught, 'Good thing that crow guy didn't tear my limb'. Link is still shocked as he's shield bashing the darknaught before helps split by leaping over his head to land behind him, he finished t with a backslash.

Then the winged oryx appears right behind him, 'Good you can feel that dark energy surging through you, will you join me Link?' Link asked him, 'Why are you giving me suggestions if you clearing disagreed with me before.'

The oryx explained, 'That's because I'm getting sick of harvesting negative emotions. Just because''m a mere vessel of the ancient bird of darkness, it doesn't mean I have to endure their grudge against me. I was very unstable for a few years but everything changed when your friend sealed me away.'

'Instead of feeding my grudges, they have been feeding the grudges of him instead.' Link asked him, 'Wasn't that your purpose?' He responded,' I tried to interfere with his path of being a hero so I can't kill him. But instead, I made him the target that interrupted me to achieve my incarnate purpose, if you asked that. Have you done enough da…damage…..scaring the brave Emerald Knights,…aid Garatina destroying the Lunarian princess,…..killing my ancestor,…[tears cascade from his eyes as he becoming expressing sadness]….destroyed the legacy of Thundera.'

The horned tengu didn't respond as he regretted the last part,' answer me, have you done enough damage.' Hippo removes Link from his side,' Link you need to get a break, you finished him….' The tegu takes off before shifting into karentenmon,' You idealistic fool, you think you can avenge what I kill by finishing me so you can be the hero.'

'Have you done enough damage with Steven, isn't so different than messing with Thundera legend but messing up with last warriors? Once I get my armies I show you the true power of conquest.' He dart Link with mercury, Link felt nothing before his eyes glowing red,' Bismuth, what in Hylia did he do to me.'

Link is being harnessed by the darkness until Dark Link takes over as he sensed the spirit of darkness's original and ancient purpose. Bismuth aids Link,' Link are you…' Link's skin grows pale as his eyes glow amber from darkness,' What the…' Link attempts to stab her in her gem on her chest before Snips the Okapi came, 'That enough…my master.'

Dark Link got dumbfounded while expressing utter sadness,' Snips…..why did you come for me, you left me.' Snips slash Link's face- leaving him a scar on his chin and over his left eye,' My…..pada…..why, listen to me. Come back for me.' Snips responded with a serene look,' No, my Link died long ago.'

Dark Link growly responds,' you must die for forsaken me.' Adorabat comes to from his red scarf,' you need to stop taking over my Link you monster.' She wrapped his wings around his chin before wrapping his neck to knock him out with nuzzle.

Despite being cuddly, it allows to shock Dark Link while Dark is shouting in uncomferness before being knocked unconscience. Adorabat comments about it,' Strangely Link would get a seizure when I do that. Hurry we need to take to the mage basset to extract this shadow he has, Xo is famous for natural healing magic. I hope Rigby doesn't get mad about this….especially since he's the Forest Sage.'

She responded don't worry I made a truce with that feraligatr since…..Darknaughts felt sympathetic with his deformity that…we made a promise that she stays underground if she ever is free…..Steven, I'm sorry for letting Darknaughts make me do this.'

Why a more cynical/ somber depiction of pteroquetzal compared to more upbeat in other fics- semi-canon Alpha and Omega and even my Zelda AU (Legend of Steven-Link of the Wild)? I kinda warn out of hate of baby shows from CN because I know an adult will not take it seriously. To make the multi-story villain more serious for this darker fic (even LOS is pretty dark). All that obsession with the fallen champions is a facade just to distract from the true atrocity that he committed.

There was obvious Clone wars/Rebels reference (more of it as Dark, Snips, dark Charizard, and even Zacian's backstory to give more view of dark future/ alternative timeline to avoid) since I'm a vanilla casual star-wars fan. Even dark link is a reference to Anakin since TP/Sky Link and his clone wars self look similar if you give Link scars. Yes, it was Dark Link (not Link because he's too pure) who succumbed to the darkness because he let Mao Mao die, he blame himself for a failure to point the well you know what happen to Anakin.
