Writer's note:Welcome to Bella Swan: A Dauntless Tale!

[One Week later]

Bella excelled at being Dauntless. Tris was having a hard time with being Dauntless and it worried Bella that Tris chose Dauntless on a whim. Bella spent a lot of time in the communal library, so she read a lot of books, training physically was also mind over matter sometimes. Bella was mentally strong as well as physically.

Eric walked into the training area that Four was using to train all the non-Dauntless born. "Anyone ready for fighting?"

Four snorted, his arms crossed. "Not even close."

"Good." Eric said and whistled for the Dauntless born to come in. Right now, Bella was 18th on the board. She was above the line, but she wanted to move up higher. Tris was sitting below the line at 29th. "First jumper and Demetri, let's go."

Bella glanced at Tris briefly before taking her place on the sparring mats. She looked at Demetri. He was Dauntless born and ranked fourth on the board. Demetri had auburn hair, wild looking green eyes, and he looked strong. He was taller than Bella by a good six or seven inches. She would let him make the first move so she could figure out if he had a weakness.

Demetri struck at her with his left hand, snapping it back to guard his face, and he bounced a little like a typical boxer.

Bella kept her own hands up as she squared off with him. This time when Demetri moved to strike at her, she moved too, faster than Demetri realized she could move, and she moved under his arm, striking out with her hand like a snake, right to his throat, making him choke and gasp for air. She kept following through, taking advantage of his stunned state, to take his legs out from under him, tripping him up, and slamming her fist into his airway again, and he choked more, his hands flailing up to his throat as his back hit the mats, and Bella was on top of him now, pulling his face into her breast to smother him, and she locked his arms in place using her legs, so he couldn't defend, while her hands had him in a very unusual headlock.

He gasped and thrust his hips upwards to unseat her, but she anchored down, using all of her strength to choke him out. Eventually he quit moving, his legs stopping their dance, and she released him. She got to her feet, shifting backwards into a back stance and kept her hands up to guard, just in case he was pretending to be knocked out.

Everyone was silent around her. She could hear her own breathing; it was so quiet.

Eric was shocked. He couldn't remember a time here in Dauntless, where Abnegation took out Dauntless born. Let alone a girl. Demetri was one of the faster fighters.

Four made a 'hmph' sound. "I stand corrected. I guess someone was ready to fight."

"What's your name stiff?" Eric finally asked.

Bella looked to Eric; his steel eyes studied her curiously. "Bella."

"Bella what?" Eric asked again.

"Prior."

Eric nodded and looked around the room. "Take note initiates. If you want to avoid being factionless, act like her." He said and then looked at the other stunned faces, including the other Dauntless born. "Lukas, get him off the mat." He barked out at a boy with dark hair, buzzed close to his head, his brow pierced, and his eyes were like pools of blue, went to retrieve the unconscious Demetri from the Mat.

"Let's keep this moving." Eric said and looked at the board. "Whoever the fuck Tris is, and Uriah."

Bella didn't like Eric's tone. She perched her hands on her hips. "You're pinning Dauntless born against transfers." She spoke up.

Eric raised his pierced brow. "So?"

"Doesn't seem like you want to actually train us, you want to murder us." Bella knew that speaking out against a leader would get her in trouble, but she didn't care.

Four cleared his throat. "Get off the mats."

Eric held up a hand. "No, no. Let the stiff talk. You think it's unfair?"

"I didn't say it was unfair. I was making an observation." Bella said pointedly.

Eric nodded, crossing his arms. "Alright. Let's take a break then. You've all been working hard. Then we can…revisit the sparring."

Bella narrowed her eyes as she got off the mats. She felt like Eric was up to something.

"Let me talk to you." Eric said to Bella and walked beside her as they walked towards the chow hall. "You were Abnegation." He said.

"Dauntless now. Faction before blood." Bella reminded him.

Eric nodded. "You're right, my apologies. You're pretty brave."

"Not brave Eric." Bella said and then stopped short before crossing the catwalk. "I'm also not dense. I piss you off because I opened my mouth. I admit, talking back to leadership, not a good idea."

Eric smiled a little. "Oh, it's a terrible idea. Opening your mouth can get you in a lot of trouble.

Bella looked back at the catwalk. "And you're about to punish me."

"You are smart." Eric said with a sarcastic voice. "Get on the catwalk." He said, his tone serious now.

Bella sighed and got on the catwalk and turned and faced Eric. He walked towards her and stopped in front of her, looking down into her dark eyes. He grabbed her wrist, and then pushed her off the side of the catwalk and forced her to grab the slippery metal of the catwalk.

"You can hang there until I say stop, fall to your death, or pull yourself up." Eric said. "Your choice."

Bella gripped the catwalk tight, her arms were burning, not only from her weight dangling off the catwalk, but also using a lot of her arm strength in her spar against Demetri. Tris was on the side, her hand covering her mouth as she watched her dangle, and so were a couple others, in shock. Bella felt the sweat drip off her brow, and so she took a deeper breath and she pulled herself up, exhausting every ounce of her energy she had, before she was standing on the catwalk again. Her face was slightly reddened by the exertion, but she stood her ground.

Eric nodded, making a hmph sound. "Points for bravery Prior. But not as many as you lost for this whole ordeal." He said and looked to the others. "Get back to training." He said, and then he turned and walked across the catwalk and disappeared to the chow hall.

[Later that night: The Dauntless Bazaar]

Bella was beat. Her arm and leg muscles screamed at her, but she promised Tris that they would go to the Bazaar. Christina joined them, dragging Will, an Erudite transfer, with her.

The Bazaar was poorly lit but music was playing and people were grinding on each other and alcohol was involved. Bella saw the large neon sign that said 'tattoo'. She tapped Tris on the shoulder and leaned in to talk in her ear so she could hear her over the music.

"I'm checking out the Tattoo place. I'll catch up." Bella said and Tris nodded her understanding. Bella disappeared inside. You could still hear the drum of the music from inside, but it wasn't so loud anymore. She spotted the woman that did her aptitude test. Bella approached her and the woman looked up at her, frowning. "Just here for a tattoo." Bella said before the woman could say anything.

The woman nodded and brought Bella back to a room and closed to door to do her tattoo. "What tattoo are you wanting?"

"Something tribal like a sleeve and at my wrist on the inside I want the Dauntless symbol." Bella explained.

The woman nodded and flipped through some stencils and got them out to place over her arm to begin. She was quiet as she did this until she finally spoke. "It was dangerous for you to come here."

Bella nodded. "I know."

"I'm Tori."

"Its nice to put a name with your face."

Tori cleaned Bella's arm and then started the stenciling process. It started at Bella's shoulder and went to her wrist. It swirled in a beautiful tribal pattern and had a slightly floral design typical of tribal tattoos. The Dauntless symbol on the inside of her wrist was accented with a circular tribal pattern.

Bella was still as Tori worked. The laser worked quickly on Bella's arm, the tingling was more of a nuisance than pain but Bella did have a high pain tolerance.

"Eric is dangerous." Tori warned.

Bella thought that much was true. "Why?" she asked, curious about why he was dangerous, other than being a hard ass about training.

"He hunts Divergents and he kills them." Tori elaborated.

Bella frowned. "He just kills them. Why?"

"Jeanine Matthews, that's why. She believes that Erudite is superior. I'm positive she's behind it all, I just don't have proof. So, you need to be careful."

Bella was quiet a moment. "What makes me so different?"

"You challenge the faction system. Divergents aren't just one faction, they're all the factions. It's why the test didn't work on you. It's why…it didn't work on my brother." Tori said, her voice said.

"Your brother was Divergent?"

Tori nodded. "Yes. He was."

"What happened to him?"

"Eric killed him."

Bella frowned thinking about what Tori said. She felt like Eric was certainly capable of many things, and killing someone was one of those things. She just sighed. "I'll be okay. I'll make sure to be careful."

Tori nodded and continued working on Bella's arm. "Everything you do, is being watched so you have to act Dauntless."

"I am acting Dauntless. I'm 18th on the board. I'm much stronger than I look." Bella said, offering a smile. The rest of the session, the two were quiet, left to their thoughts until Tori finished the tattoo. "What do you think?" Tori asked as she leaned back.

Bella marveled her arm, impressed by the design and the way the ink looked so bold against her smooth skin. "Its amazing. Thank you."

Tori smiled at Bella. She liked her. She knew that she would challenge the system the moment she had to override her results during her aptitude test. Sometimes Divergents weren't spectacular or noticeable, but Bella was amazing. She only hoped that she would stay off Eric's radar.

Bella joined the others at the bar. Alcohol was new to her and Tris because Abnegation didn't believe in self indulgence. They drank heavily, against better judgement. Bella broke away from the others when Christina and Will decided to check each other's tonsils out and Tris seemed to be talking a lot with a boy named Al. So, Bella slipped away to head back and train a bit on the bags before hitting the shower.

It was quiet in the training room. Bella pulled her shirt off, working out in her sports bra so she had more mobility. Her ink sleeved arm didn't hurt at all despite getting a full sleeve done. She was amazed by the laser technology Dauntless had sometimes. She hit the bag, her breathing steady as she made sure to breathe out with each contact with the bag. She danced around it, boxing like she saw in the books she read. She threw some kicks as well. Her reflexes were slower because of the alcohol she had ingested at the Bazaar, but she continued to fight the intoxication.

She was so focused she didn't quite hear someone enter the training room, but her senses weren't so dulled by the alcohol to where she couldn't spin around with a backfist to whoever approached.

Steele eyes looked back at her, her hand blocked and captured by Eric. "You're drunk." He said, amusement clear in his tone.

"Not drunk."

"Your movements are sloppy, and you smell like you've been to the bar."

"What's it to you?" Bella smarted off to him.

Eric smirked. "It's nothing to me, it's you that's got to suffer in the morning."

Bella made a hmph sound and then turned and faced the bag again and started hitting it again.

Eric reached out, placing his hands on her hips and pivoted her into a correct stance. "You want to keep your feet planted, like this. Your power comes from your hips and punching without stability will result with you toppled over in a fight."

Bella felt the warmth of his hands on her hips, and it shocked her to hear a normal tone come from him including his advice. "I know."

"You do, huh? So, your drunken state would be the reason why you're not performing then." Eric teased her.

Bella sighed, dropping her hands just briefly, before she twisted, faster than she had been doing before, and surprised Eric with getting him in an armbar, twisted up behind his back. She leaned against him, her size small, but he could feel the way her breast pressed into him from behind. "I can perform perfectly fine." She said, applying pressure on his wrist.

Eric smirked, knowing full well he could get out of this if he wanted to. "You're bold."

"Maybe." Bell admitted. She was placing a spotlight on herself. Eric was dangerous, she could see that very clear. Tori's warnings would not go unnoticed. She also wanted to know more about Jeanine Matthews. Call it her inebriated response to her terrible ideas, but another terrible idea popped in her head, and she released Eric. When he did and turned to face her, she reached up, tipping up on her toes to kiss him.

It shocked Eric, to feel Bella's lips on his. She was forceful in her action, but he welcomed it, her strength was admirable. He kissed her back, his hands going to her waist, pulling her close to him, as she continued to assault his mouth with hers. He felt his arousal come quick, and she did too, knowing exactly the vulnerability he was in right now, but he didn't drop his guard. He was prepared for another attack, but she didn't attack him. Instead, her hands pulled at his belt on his pants, wanting to relieve him of his constraints. He stopped her then, pulling back to look down at her. Her dark eyes were swirls of mystery, and he couldn't read what was behind those eyes, only that she was drunk, and this would likely be a mistake on her part. But he didn't care. He grabbed her hand and hauled her with him into the privacy of the clinic room off the training room. He shut the door, locking it behind him, and then turned to her clinging to him again, pushing her body against his as they both fought each other for control.

Bella pulled at his shirt, getting it over his head, revealing his toned chest and muscles. His tattoos on his neck went down in lines and swirled expertly over his chest and his arms. He was extremely attractive, Bella noted. She knew this was likely her worse idea she's ever had, but it was only a week in, and she needed something to figure out Eric and his ploys. Especially when it came to Divergents. She would get inside his head, make him trust her enough to let his guard down. If all else failed and she couldn't pierce that iron exterior he had, then at least she would get pleasure from their encounters like this. She hadn't been with a man before, only some first and second base type stuff back in Abnegation, but she understood the mechanics of having sex. She didn't want Eric to know that she was inexperienced in this area, so she continued to be forward with her actions, her hands moving up his chest to feel how hard his muscles were, but she was also searching for any marks on his body from old injuries that she could use to her advantage.

Eric unzipped her sports bra, and when she didn't stop him, he let it fall to the ground. She was topless in front of him now, and she didn't bat an eye or shy away from him. His hands moved up to cup her supple breast roughly, his thumb braising over her nipple gathering a moan from her lips. His mouth covered hers again, their tongues meshing together furiously, sending his brain all sorts of signals. Her hands fished at his pants, pulling him free from the constraints, and she stroked her hand over his hard cock expertly. He groaned, growling a little as he pushed her forward, hoisting her up on the counter, knocking things off into the floor, his hands going to her pants, pulling them off in a swift movement. He broke his mouth away from hers to stare at her as she sat naked in front of him, her lips swollen from their rough embrace. Her eyes were curious now, enflamed with a lust that he knew he too felt. He lined himself up at her entrance, before thrusting up into her hard, jolting her body and her senses.

Bella prepared her mind for the impact of his hard cock slamming inside her, but her body reacted poorly, and she flinched only a little, causing him to pause. She leaned in, kissing him roughly, moaning a little to cover up the fact that she was hurting slightly, she shifted her hips to encourage him, and he began to thrust into her fast, filling her up to his hilt.

Eric wasn't sure what to think when she flinched slightly, but she continued to kiss him, pushing him forward, so he pushed into her over and over again. She was tight around him, tighter than any women previously, and it sent a different sensation through him as he pushed himself faster, harder. Bella's mouth went to his throat, marking him there over his dark ink that would surely hide the love bites. His mouth went to her throat next, sucking there, marking her, knowing that it would bring up several questions amongst her peers later. She moaned in his ear, sending shivers through him as she slickened over his cock more. Her hands raked over his back, leaving scratches there he would have to explain away later, but he didn't care. He felt himself draw up, his pleasure right at the tip until he jolted forward deep inside her before he released. He groaned, resting his forehead to hers, his breathing labored from the exertion, as was hers.

Bella felt him leak out his essence inside her. She surprised herself with an orgasm before Eric finished. The pain of her virginity had dissipated quickly, and she felt the endorphins flood her that she knew she wanted to feel again, but she was spent as was Eric, she could tell.

Eric pulled out of her, his cock flopping as he did, and Bella was able to take in the sight of him. He was muscle everywhere and was very enjoyable to look at. He turned, and she could see where her nails bit his skin on his back and that made her smile a little. He grabbed his pants, pulling them on and buckling them. Bella hopped off the counter, still feeling blissful from their pleasure. She grabbed her own pants and pulled them on, before searching for her bra.

Eric smirked at her again, still shirtless, before he leaned down and grabbed her bra. "Looking for this?"

Bella raised a brow as Eric held up her bra, letting it dangle from her finger. "Teasing is beneath you Eric."

"Is it though?" Eric said and walked towards her. He dipped his mouth down, connecting with hers in a kiss before he dropped the bra down in her hands.

Bella pulled it on, zipping it up in the front. "Same time next week?"

Eric raised a brow. "Oh? You want more of this?" He motioned to himself.

"Maybe I don't and I'm making small talk."

A beeping sounded, breaking Eric away from the dialogue now. He found his palm pilot in the floor where his pants were taken off. He stooped and picked it up, brushing a hand through his hair on top of his head, as he read the message that came through. His demeanor changed, and he grabbed his shirt, pulling it on silently, before leaving Bella there alone.

Bella sighed. "Right." She muttered. She combed her fingers through her own hair after taking it out of it's ponytail. Her hair was still so long. She left the clinic room, going to grab her shirt from the training room floor, before she wandered back to the showers in the sleeping quarters. She thought about her ill-conceived plan. She wanted to blame the alcohol, but she couldn't. She really was that stupid sometimes.
