Chapter 6: New Life New House with Dad.

After a long night of calling up some people, Brooke finally passed out. Braxton was able to sell his home, some of his old collections & things as he finally moved to where his kids live. But he's living in a different city though as he has now put a restraining order on his ex wife. Braxton found a house that was for sale for quite a while now & to much better surprise, it was close to Simon's house. Cynthia invited Braxton & his kids over for dinner as Braxton agreed to come over. Both Jalin & Jordan spent all morning packing their stuff as their dad had the home all ready & set up.

"I'm so excited! My dad is living here but just in a different city! That means I can go to 'Camp Buddy' this year! Whooooo!" Jalin said happily while packing their stuff.

"As much I like your old home Jaxon, I do hope your new room is bigger so we can all hang out." Hunter said as he giggled.

"I'll give y'all a room tour once I get everything all set up and all. I sold some of my old collections so yeah." Jalin said as she wiped their forehead.

"Jalin, will your dad be okay with us coming over for a hang out? I-I mean because we had fun last time we hung out!" Simon said as he hid his face with a pillow.

Jalin giggled, "You guys meet my dad and he told me that he likes y'all! So he'll be okay with y'all coming over for a hang out!" Jalin said happily.

Simon smiled, "That's nice to hear. Also sorry to ask, but where's your mom? If your dad's there…?" Simon asked his friend.

"You know what, good question. She just dipped out this morning. Jordan and I were asleep when she left and all so yeah." Jalin said to Simon as she drank some water.

"Also….did bro Aiden….uhhh…..you know?" Hiro tried to ask but he couldn't get the words out.

Jalin looked at him & nodded. "Yep. Mom didn't break anything thank goodness but she stood there as he walked out of our home. I do hope he's okay though Hiro. If there's anything I can do please let me know." Jalin asked their friend as she smiled.

"Thanks. I'll text him to see how he's doing." Hiro said to them as he gave them a peace sign.

Then a door knock was heard as Jalin looked back & answered it. "Hey dad! I'm almost done. I was taking a break as somebody decided to video call me.~" Jalin said as she giggled.

"Ah, that's okay dear. Well I tried to call your mom but she's not answering her phone. But I just wanted to tell you that the moving truck's here and they're already taking Jordan's stuff. Can we take yours that are boxed up?" Mr. Dean asked them.

"Of course! Just please be careful. Some are fragile." Jalin said in concern.

"No worries. I'll make sure they're really careful. Ah, hello boys. What do y'all call yourselves again? Jalin said it once but I forgot." Mr. Dean waved at Jalin's phone as the Rainbow Buddies waved back at him.

"We call ourselves the 'Rainbow Buddies' sir. I'm the one who made it up." Simon said as he giggled.

"Ah! I must know the story then, gentleman." Mr. Dean told them as he smiled at them. He grabbed one of Jalin's boxes as he headed downstairs.

Jalin looked back as she smiled at their friends.

"Hey guys, tech guy is coming on here. Don't blush too hard since he just got out of the shower." Yoichi told his friends.

Everyone tilted their heads. Jalin was confused.

"Who's 'tech guy' Yoichi?" Is he in the group chat?" Jalin asked their friend.

"Yeah. In five….four…three…..two… Bam." Yoichi said as he smirked.

"H-Hi guys! Whew, that was a long shower." Jin said as he giggled.

Everyone nearly blush seeing him shirtless. Yoichi grinned.

"Tech guy, tell us what today is.~" Yoichi teased him.

"Oh no no no. Y'all don't wanna know really. It's not that special." Jin said as he looked away.

"According to your page, it's your birthday! Whooooo! It's your party and you'll cry if you want too. Cry if you want too, cry cry cry cry.~" Simon said happily as he sang 'Pity Party.'

Everyone laughed as they joined along & wished Jin a 'Happy Birthday.' Jin's face went red as he stood up, grabbing a shirt to put on.

"Ohh shucks guys. Thanks you guys. Really. It's not that big a deal." Jin said as he smiled softly.

"You may not think so, but for us it's a big deal. We're glad to celebrate your birthday with you, Jin. Are you doing anything?" Natsumi asked him as he smiled.

"He's currently at my house right now having cake that dad made for him. Yuri is out shopping buying him something. So we're having a small birthday party for him." Yoichi told his friends as he ate a piece of cake.

"Awww, that cake looks so good. Damn.~ I can tell it's chocolate with blue and green frosting.~" Simon said as he drooled.

"Yeah dad baked it, so if y'all come over again soon, there will be some left.~" Yoichi said as he winked at him.

Jalin smiled at their conversation as she was done packing up their things. Jordan & their dad helped put their stuff into the moving truck as Jalin flipped their camera & showed everyone their empty room. Everyone grew quiet as they gasped.

"Oh my gosh….this….this is literally a liminal backroom aesthetic." Simon said as he began to tear up.

"Childhood core aesthetics to me. What do you think, Jaxon?" Taiga asked them.

"Yes. Hahaha. Simon it's okay. This is something I wanted. My new room might be a whole lot better." Jalin said as she walked out of their room, showing the Rainbow Buddies their now half empty home. They didn't show their mom's room as the door was closed.

Everyone grew quiet as it was just so aesthetically pleasing how dark & empty their home was without their mom there. Jalin then headed outside as she waved at Jordan & their dad. Jordan & Mr. Dean waved back.

"Wait, are we on camera? Is this for TikTok or Youtube?" Jordan asked as he laughed.

Jalin & the Rainbow Buddies laughed at Jordan's joke.

"No bro, I'm on video call with the Rainbow Buddies. I flipped the camera so they could see how empty my room is." Jalin told their big brother.

"No way.~ Welp vlog the whole thing till we get to our new home. But we gotta hurry and leave. Mom will be-" Jordan got interrupted by his dad.

"Your mom already knows and she respects y'alls decisions. She has no plans in visiting us and she will be selling this house." Mr. Dean told his son as he got into the van he rented.

Jalin closed the door as she locked it & walked to the van. The Rainbow Buddies were quiet trying to get the whole story.

"So mom knows and she won't be ballistic or anything?" Jordan asked his dad.

"Nope. She'll be home soon, but she pretty much wanted to tell y'all is 'good luck' and 'have fun.' And Jalin, she said that she's sorry for treating you like shit." Mr. Dean said as he started up the van & drove off. Making sure the moving truck was following them.

Jalin flipped the camera back to their face as she smiled softly at their friends. The Rainbow Buddies smiled back at them as Kieran gave them a thumbs up.

"Well, dad. This is going to take me years to forgive her. My body is healed and all but my heart is broken. So I'm going to heal first." Jalin told their dad.

"Whatever works best for you my caterpillar. Jordan, what about you?" Mr. Dean asked his son.

"I mean, mom usually paid attention to me more often. But after seeing what she did to Jalin….I'm getting nightmares from them. So it's going to take me a while too." Jordan told his dad.

"That's alright son. You two are always welcome to come and talk to me about anything. I will never judge you." Mr. Dean told them as he smiled.

"Thanks dad!" They both said happily. After 20 minutes, they arrived at their home.

They parked as the moving truck crew put all of their boxes into their new home. Jalin smiled as she showed the Rainbow Buddies their new home as they all gasped. The house had walls painted light pink as it was fading. Jalin ran to their room as it was huge! Everyone was excited.

"Jaxon! Your room looks great! Once you unpack and put everything up first of course." Natsumi told them as he chuckled.

"Thank you! Jordan is going to take a small nap as dad is going to get us something to eat. But I'm going to unpack. I might repaint my room and get a new carpet." Jalin told them as they smiled.

"And then you'll invite us over, honey?" Kieran asked them as he blushed.

"Yeah! I'll send y'all my new address once everything is set up and all." Jalin said as she smiled at their friends.

"Yay! We can't wait. We're so proud of you, Jalin." Simon said to them as he smiled.

Jalin smiled back as they plugged in their phone. They had dinner with Jordan & Mr. Dean. The house was in good spirits & everything was positive as their hearts & minds were healing. Jalin invited over their 2 girl friends first for a sleepover then Simon & his family along with Taiga came over for dinner. The Rainbow Buddies will come over next time for a sleepover.

Jalin was still working at their job as they felt a lot safer as their mom never visited them at their job. Jordan was still going to the same college as he was getting there to graduate. Mr. Dean started up a new job as he is very much happy with it.

For Brooke Dean, she sold her old home & moved into an apartment. She has no contact with her kids, ex husband, nor Aiden. Well she still has his ex husband's number in case they need anything like venmo each other for some money. But Brooke was seeking help & seeing someone to talk to about her problems. She is also unaware that Braxton had put a restraining order on her.

Since Simon lives a few blocks from Jalin, the two have been hanging out more along with Taiga & Kieran. They crack jokes, watch movies, play games, cry, & just having a good time. As Jalin has always wanted this. Braxton was happy for them as that's what he wanted for his family.
