Training continued on, despite losing Al. There was nothing to do about it. The teams were even now, 10 and 10. Bella's hand was doing good. Carlisle got the sleeve finished and there was a slight disconnect with the tone, but also the metal band that was clasped around right above where her wrist was with the bionic hand, was noticeable. Bella's hair was getting a little long, so she decided to go by and have it shaped up again to keep it out of her way and get a tattoo in remembrance of Al. An entire week passed by since they returned from the trip, so Bella had spent time testing Dauntless children off and on like she was instructed. So far, she hadn't made any discoveries. She wondered if it was just rare for Divergent children to exist in Dauntless.

But Bella wasn't focused on that now. The new test coming up for the rest of the recruits was the secondary firearms training and that required handgun training. In addition, the teams were pitted against each other in sparring brackets and right now, they were rotating the ten in and out of sparring situations.

"The goal is to knock your opponent out." Bella said, her voice was authoritative. "But, because we're doing rotating spars, tap if you must, but remember you're being graded and tapping loses points. That board determines your workload. Don't fuck it up." She said and then looked at the palm pilot. "Peter and Will." She said and watched the two take the mats. Will had rose through the ranks too. He was fairing really well with all the training and Bella was happy to see him do so good.

Eric nodded to Bella. "Send Tris and Demetri over here."

Bella nodded then whistled at Tris and Demetri. "You're up on stage two. Get with it." She ordered.

Tris rolled her eyes and walked back to Bella then got up on the mats and Demetri followed. "You know it's easy to bark orders now since you can't back up your sparring abilities now." She snipped at Bella, referring to her missing hand.

Eric looked over at Bella and crossed his arms. "I'm not touching this one." He said and walked away from the second stage.

Bella nodded and walked towards the stage. "I suggest you not pop off and do your spar."

Tris snorted. "See, scared. I could take you."

Eric turned and looked back at the stage. "Did she just fucking say what I think she just said?"

Peter snorted as he helped Will up off the mats from being knocked out momentarily. "Stiff sure has a big mouth."

Tris glared at Peter. "I can kick your ass too, so I wouldn't be so smart Peter."

"Oh I'm scared. "Peter said, rolling his eyes.

"You think, you can take me?" Bella said, confirming.

Tris stared Bella down. "I know I can because you're disabled."

Bella nodded, holding up her good hand to silence everyone that started to whisper. "Tris. I can beat you with only one hand and you're really going to make me prove it aren't you."

"There's no way." Tris goaded. Tris had been spiraling since Peter. She was angry all the time.

Right then Lukas and Four walked in, their group with them. They sometimes did some combined training before chow. Jasper heard the tail end of the conversation and he wanted to stop this from happening, but Bella was getting up on the mats.

Bella paused, twisting the metal band on her arm and slid the hand off. She held it in her hand, showing that she really was one handed now. "You need to learn to pick your battles. I get you're hurting but I am your superior and challenging me is just stupid. I used to think you were smarter than that. What Al saw in you, I won't ever understand."

Tris growled at the mention of Al and she charged Bella.

Bella snapped her hand out fast, knocking Tris out with one hit, with the bionic hand she detached. So technically, she took Tris down without the use of her own hands. Bella shook her head, attaching her hand back. She looked around the training room. Her eyes were fierce. "Let's get something straight. No one, is better than the other. You are lucky at any given time when you defeat your opponent in a spar. You are lucky, when you hit your target the right way. You are lucky, when you finish each training situation. Some people, don't make it back. Count yourself lucky. Every one of you have potential to be the best version of yourself here at Dauntless. But make no fucking mistake. You are not better than your superiors. If you're going to stand on these mats and call one of us out, you better fucking knock us out because the consequences, aren't going to be pretty. Anyone else think they can do better than me?" Bella asked as she looked around the room. It was silent. No one made a move, not even Peter, who usually had something snarky to say. "Good. Get her off these mats." She said, stepped over Tris and got down off the stage. She walked back over towards Eric.

Eric looked down at her. "Feel good?"

"Not even fucking close." Bella muttered and then went back to her training stage. "Since Four's group has arrived."

Four nodded. "Jasper."

"Uriah." Bella said and watched the two get up on the stage.

The Bazaar was lively as always. Bella made her way to get her hair trimmed up. She was thinking neon green as some color, so she left feeling a little better with her hair shorter and the neon color just adding life to her dull, dark hair. She went to see Tori. She hadn't seen her since she got back.

Tori looked up at the opening of the door and her smile instantly fell. "What the fuck happened?" She gasped, looking at Bella's hand.

Bella sighed. "Expedition gone wrong. Dropped Al in a fucking cavern." She sat on the chair. "I… just need a remembrance. For him. I just… I should have done better."

"Wait, Al is dead?" Tori was stunned.

Bella nodded. "He… I… I tried to save him but…"

Tori shook her head. "You are not blaming yourself for this. Bella. If you tried then-"

"I should have tried harder."

"You don't have a hand." Tori pointed out.

"I fucking know that." Bella said and sighed. "I lost it trying to save him, but that doesn't make the pain go away. I need ink therapy and I need his name, twisted in vines running up my arm above the new hand." Bella explained.

Tori nodded, understanding. She sat at her little desk and she sketched out what Bella described. She added a crow to Al's name and Bella realized that it was because the only tattoo Al had was of a crow. He hadn't gotten a tattoo done for Tris yet because Tris told him that was extreme and so he backed off and instead, got a crow.

Bella approved of the design and Tori stenciled it onto Bella's arm the way she wanted.

"You know, Al wouldn't want you to dwell about what happened to him."

"I know." Bella said and watched Tori work with the laser tattoo machine. She was always fascinated by it. The stinging pain was a welcomed relief to her.

"Then stop dwelling on it. It'll tear you apart inside." Tori said.

Bella knew that as well. She knew that Al wouldn't want her to be stuck on his death, but sometimes it was hard. Her palm pilot beeped, she unclipped it with her free hand and she read the message from Lukas.

Checked on Tris. She's pissed.

Bella quickly sent a message back.

I don't fucking care.

Bella was irritated. Tris was so out of line. It's like she was ready to toss away twelve years of sisterhood. It didn't make sense to her. Tris was erratic and angry. She got that Tris was in love with Al. She was sure that she would freak out if something happened to Eric, but to take it out on her sister? She would never take something out on Tris. She would look to her sister for help and support.

Tris decided to get a tattoo at that moment, opening the door and seeing Bella in the seat with Tori tattooing Bella's arm. "Of course." She muttered and shut the door. She looked at the tattoo and she felt anger well up inside her. "How dare you tattoo his name on you. Like you fucking care you let him die."

"Hey." Tori snapped and pulled the machine away. She was done anyways. "That is uncalled for. You are sisters."

Tris shook her head. "No. We're not. I'm just the family that took her in when her parents died."

Bella stood, looking at Tori. "Excuse me I know you don't like the violence in your shop." She said and then she spun, pinning Tris against the wall her strength outmatching Tris's. "I'm losing my patience with you. I was ready to give you leeway with Al's death, but he was my friend too. I cared a lot about Al and respected him a lot. I was there for him for everything and he told me everything. So you need to drop this bullshit you have going on. I can and will make your life hell."

"Did you forget I hold more power than you?" Tris warned.

Bella raised a brow. "Oh. You think I'm scared of you? Scared that you'll run and tell Max that I'm Divergent?"

Tris's eyes widened, glancing to Tori.

"Look at me!" Bella yelled at her and Tris snapped her attention back to Bella. "You don't realize what sort of game you're playing. Get this straight. I can have you in the bottom of the drop off so fucking fast as a Divergent sympathizer and use Al's death as the means to do it."

"You wouldn't." Tris dared.

"Try me." Bella growled. "I'm protecting 62 people Tris. Al, was protecting 62 people. You do not get to come in here and threaten me. I'm not scared of you but you sure as hell should be afraid of me. I will not hesitate to use you as part of the cause."

Tris shook her head. "You really have changed. You're a monster."

"I'm the monster? You have no idea what's going on. Al didn't tell you anything at all. You never gave him the chance because you hated the fact he was Divergent the moment he told you."

"NO! I loved him!"

"If you did then you wouldn't be acting like an idiot right now."

"You don't understand."

"I fucking understand Tris. You don't think I love? That I have feelings?"

Tris had tears in her eyes now and she shook her head. "No, you're not Bella anymore."

"I grew Tris. I adapted. I'm not the same girl from Abnegation, because I'm not that person. I never was. I was hiding. Here, I'm who I really am. Who I want to be. You're confusing your pain for losing Al with anger."

Tris shook her head. "I hate you!"

"Hate me. I don't fucking care! I'm done with you Tris. I washed my hands of you the moment you accused me of things that just aren't true."

"It is your fault! Why can't you see it! If you weren't Divergent, then-"

"Then what? Then Al wouldn't be? Newsflash Tris, it doesn't work that way."

"Let go of me."

"No."

"I don't want to see you again."

Bella nodded. "Okay. I can make that happen." She said then let Tris go and she went for the door but Bella slammed her bionic hand on it, forcing it closed, trapping Tris. "You're not making it back to sleeping quarters tonight." She said, her voice like ice.

Tris's eyes were wide. "You'd kill your own sister." She said, her lip quivering.

Bella tilted her head. "We're not sisters. Remember."

Tori swallowed. "Bella… Maybe we should-"

Bella pulled her palm pilot from her waist then she moved Tris away from the door and Tris scrambled back into the corner. She called someone, holding it up to her ear. "Tori's Tattoo. Now." She said and hung up.

"Who did you call?" Tris asked.

"You're about to find out." Bella said, her voice like venom.

Tori shifted uncomfortably, never seeing Bella like this. "Bella, maybe we should all calm down."

"Oh this is me calm." Bella said and stared at Tris. "You asked for this. Just remember that." She said and waited.

A few minutes later there was a knock on the door and Bella opened it and Max walked inside.

Tris's eyes got wide and she looked at Tori, who was stunned.

"Your demanding tone had me curious, so I came as soon as I could. What appears to be the problem?"

Bella's eyes didn't leave Tris's. "Tris informed me that Al was something secret. I pressed her for the information and she admitted that Al was Divergent." She said, the shock was clear on Tori and Tris's face.

Max raised a brow. "Oh? This is news to me. Little Albert was Divergent? He could barely pass above the line."

Bella shrugged. "They come in all forms. What is it, 10 percent, 20 percent?"

"True." Max said and looked at Tris. "This is certainly a turn. It appears that his death was a good one then."

Tris started to say something but Bella cut her off. "She's incredibly distraught. She's accusing everyone of being Divergent now. I'm Divergent, you're Divergent. I'm pretty sure she thinks the bartender is Divergent too."

Max raised a brow. "She's clearly delusional. Put her on a psych hold under my authority. Interrogate her further on Al's situation. Find out if she knowingly kept his identity to herself and harbored a fugitive."

Bella nodded, her gaze never breaking Tris's. "I'll take care of it Max. Though next time, I want you to move a little faster. I have things to do tonight and I'd like to get on with my night." Her tone domineering.

Max smiled. "Of course." He said and left.

Bella waited a few moments and then tilted her head. "Do you understand how this works?"

Tris shook her head. "How could you…"

"What? Protect myself and all the others that you just threatened? When are you going to start believing that I'm not the bad guy?"

"Never."

Bella nodded. "Then you've sealed your fate." She said and she pulled cuffs from her belt. She looked at Tori. "I'm sorry for the disturbance in your shop. Thank you for my new tattoo. I'll see you later." She said and pushed Tris out of the door. They had to walk through the bazaar and right past Jasper who looked after Bella confused. He decided to follow.

"Jasper, not now." She said, her voice firm and she continued towards the hospital bay.

When they got there Carlisle looked up at the three of them when they entered. "What's going on?"

"Tris Prior is being placed on a psych hold per Max. She needs to be sedated."

"What? That's fucking stupid." Tris spat.

Carlisle raised a brow. "She's violent too?"

"She's a threat to the entire operation." Bella said to Carlisle.

Carlisle understood then. "Alright. Cuff her in room two. I'll label her door as my patient only. I'll update Max on her progress." He said and Bella pushed Tris towards the room that Carlisle instructed.

"You are deranged." Tris said as Bella forced Tris into the bed and cuffed her to it.

"I'm not. But I'm not going to argue with you. You've done this to yourself." Bella said and left her there. She shut the door and walked back to Carlisle and Jasper. "She's threatening what we have going on and I can't take that chance." She explained.

Jasper shook his head. "She is so angry about Al."

"She was looking for a fight today at training and when she walked into Tori's she started another one. She threatened me and I shut it down. Put her in the spotlight with Max. Told him that she admitted that Al was Divergent and that she was accusing that everyone was Divergent. That I was Divergent, Max was Divergent and threw Adrian into that too."

Jasper shook his head. "She's not going to come back from this. But it was smart. She's tagged as being delusional, so if she continues to talk about it, she's labeled the crazy one. I hate to see her like this, but… protecting the others… it's more important. There are several kids at stake."

Bella sighed. "I just… I'm done with her. Carlisle."

"I'll handle it." Carlisle said with a nod.

Bella looked back at Jasper. "I'm going back to the bazaar. I need a drink." She said and left, Jasper following her.
