Lukas sat next to Bella's bedside as she slept. Eric had to report back to Max about what happened at the wall with Four. They lost Noah, Peter and a few others. Peter wouldn't be missed, but Noah was a good person, generally speaking. He leaned back in the chair, his hand under his chin and he shut his eyes for a few minutes, fatigue weighing heavy on him. Christina walked over to the bed, he heard her footsteps, making him open his eyes and look up at her.

Christina was looking at Bella's sleeping face. "She saved him, Will said." She said and crossed her arms across her chest.

Lukas blew out a breath. "Yeah, that's what she does…"he murmured.

Christina nodded. "She's always trying to save people and doesn't stop to think that she should worry about herself. I'm thankful that she puts others before herself. I guess Abnegation doesn't always wear off."

"No, it's who she is as a person. She saved a lot of people today. Those ravagers… they're getting nasty. Things went sideways and she handled it. That's the nature of the job. That's what we do as Dauntless. We don't think about the fear, we just do it. It's why she's got stripes on her arms."

Christina agreed. Bella was everything Dauntless was supposed to be and more. The stripes on her arm didn't make her any less of a friend. "I'm sorry."

"Why are you sorry?"

"You love her and watching her go through this. I can relate you know." Christina said, nodding over to Will's bed, where he was laying there sleeping now.

Lukas nodded. No one knew that Bella and Eric were involved. Everyone as far as they could see, it was Bella and him in a relationship. He swallowed. "Yeah, she's a force of nature."

"Why don't you go stretch your legs some. I'll sit with her for a bit. Watch over her and Will." Christina offered.

Lukas shook his head. He had promised Eric he wouldn't leave her side. Jasper was laying in the bed next to Bella, asleep too, so he could stay here and watch them both. "I'm okay. I don't want to really leave her side. Thank you though."

Christina nodded. She looked at Bella's face one more time before she patted Lukas on the back and went to sit with Will some more.

It was quiet for a few moments before Jasper spoke quietly. "She is a force of nature." He murmured,

Lukas looked over at Jasper, seeing him turn over to look at him. "You need to be resting."

"I am resting. I'm okay… Lukas… I really am. Bella saved more than Will out there. I promise you if it wasn't for Bella, I wouldn't be breathing." Jasper said softly.

Lukas teared up a little and looked at his hands. "Jasper… I… I can't lose you too." He almost lost Bella enough times, but he could have lost both of them today. Bella was his best friend, a sister and he wasn't prepared to lose either.

"You know that one day we all die right?"

"I know that." Lukas sighed and shook his head, swiping a tear that rolled down his face.

"Babe…"Jasper said lowly. "I'm okay. Look at me."

Lukas looked up at Jasper, another tear rolling out of his spring green eyes.

Lukas nodded and then he heard footsteps. He looked up at Four and Eric as they walked back in. He wiped his face again and stood. "Hey. How was Max?"

"He's pissed. The alert system failed." Eric said and sighed. "It's why the ravagers were able to move through the wall."

Lukas frowned. "What caused the alert system to fail."

"It was triggered." Four said. "Someone in Erudite." He said, dropping his voice so only Lukas could hear.

Bella groaned a little and all attention shifted to her. She opened her eyes to see Lukas, Eric and Four looking at her. Jasper in the next bed over and he was also focused on her. "Why are you all staring at me?"

"Because you nearly died, again." Jasper said. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah, I'm fine." Bella said.

"Good." Jasper said and then threw his pillow at her.

Bella caught the pillow, frowning. "What was that for?"

"For being stupid." Jasper said.

Eric saw her color was coming back and her eyes weren't cloudy anymore. She scared the hell out of him again. It was like she had a death wish. "You scared us all." He said, crossing his arms. "Especially Lukas." He meant himself, but he wanted her to know how scared he was, seeing her like that.

Bella knew that she scared Eric. She hated that she was this way, but she was so focused on the others that she didn't think about herself. She was always so selfless. "I know. I'm sorry."

Eric sighed and looked over at Jasper. "Get rest. Keep an eye on her. I'll see you both in the morning." He said and then motioned for Lukas to follow them out.

Once outside, Four crossed his arms and looked at Lukas. "Someone in Erudite is likely trying to distract Dauntless. Keep us occupied with the wall so we don't see what's going on here. Al would have been the obvious one to use for this sort of mission, but we don't have him now. We have Will and I'm just not convinced that he wouldn't turn us all in if he knew about us." He said and sighed. "So, I know you have some contacts in Erudite. Is there-"

"My only other contact other than Al before all of this shit, was Cassidy and she's in Amity now." Lukas said. "I have no idea on how we even begin to get information out of Erudite."

Eric closed his eyes. "Shit."

"What?" Four asked, looking at Eric.

"Bella's going to have to do it." Eric said and rubbed is hands over his face. "Her brother is in Erudite."

"Caleb Prior?" Lukas asked.

"Yeah. He's her brother. Maybe-"

Four interrupted him. "What makes you think he'll want to help?"

Eric nodded. "I have an idea that he will. If not, Andrew Prior will."

"How do you know?" Lukas asked.

"Andrew Prior trained Bella in hand-to-hand combat." Eric said simply. "He isn't your typical Abnegation council member. I think he knows more than he lets on. When me and Bella went and retrieved Marcus Eaton from Abnegation, he wasn't as shocked as his wife seeing Bella how she was. He had to of known she was Divergent before she came here. Why would he train her that way? He trained Caleb too so it is possible that he knows."

Four thought about this. "Maybe, but it's risky."

"It's worth a try. We need to know why Erudite wants Dauntless distracted." Lukas pointed out.

Eric didn't like any of this, but it appeared that they had no other choice left.

All Bella needed was a couple days of rest and she was getting back to normal. She had a slight limp, but she tried not to let it affect her that much. The day was over and she just wanted to shower. She didn't even feel like going to the bazaar. She went up to Eric's room then went to the bathroom and took off her clothes. Her leg was still bandaged, but she took it off, revealing her stitches. She grabbed the clear shower pack and put it over it, sealing it off so water didn't get to the stitches. She sighed in relief, as she turned in the shower, letting the water wash away the tension.
