I am not sure who the pairing will be for Hermione yet; I can't choose between my fave ships; it's going to be either Draco, Snape or Kingsley in this one, as Sirius isn't in this story. - if you like Ron or Ginny, you will not like this story as I am not nice to them, let alone Molly.

Enjoy the story, guys, and don't forget to comment, like and follow :)

Hermione groaned when she felt her head hurt. She slowly adjusted her eyes as she opened them to see she was still on a sofa in the headmaster's office. ''What happened.'' she asked puzzled.

''you fainted, miss granger; you must have had an attack. You need to rest and make sure you take your pain potion. I do not want to see you like this again. Or I will take you to the hospital wing, and I think you, like myself, have had enough of seeing yourself in that place.''

Hermione nodded, still fuzzy-headed. She looked up and thanked the healer, and watched her leave. ''Well, that wasn't pleasant.''

''Miss G-Hermione, are you okay? You gave this old man quite a scare.''

Hermione met the headmaster's eyes, and they returned to her ''Merlin, this isn't a dream. I'm adopted.'' she said, strained.

Albus sighed ''Alas, it is true. I wish things had been different, '' he said, regretfully putting her through any more pain.

''So I'm a pureblood.''

''Yes, but not just any pureblood. You have the purest of blood out there.''

''I know their descendants of merlin.''

''Indeed, but that is through your father's side., your mother is also powerful.'' he said carefully.

Hermione looked at him carefully, ''So O'Donnell is my father's name, so what's my mother's.''

Albus took a deep breath ''Your father's name was Richard Alexander O'Donnell while your mother was Christina Sian Dowling.'' he told her ''She is a descendent of both Salazar Slytherin and Rowena Ravenclaw.'' he sighed ''if you want to be specific legally her name is Christina Dowling-Slytherin-Ravenclaw. She had access and rights to use both those names, but she did claim their titles as she wanted to wait till it was safe.''

Hermione's eyes widened in shock. She couldn't believe what she had heard. ''You're not joking, are you.''

''No, and here is a letter your parents left for you; I found it amongst their belongings.''

Hermione took the letter but looked at the headmaster and noticed something. ''There's more, isn't there,'' she asked cautiously.

Albus sighed and bowed his head ''You had an older sister. She was a few years older than you. she was 5 when you were born.''

''I have a sister!'' she said shocked ''Was she adopted to.''

Albus wondered if she had registered that he had spoken in the past tense, ''She was adopted after your parents were killed. She was working as an unspeakable and used her connections from a distance. No one saw her. They knew of her but never met her.'' She moved with a family friend in America, went to Ilvermorny, and then returned to Britain to join the Order and help bring down Voldemort.

''So i can meet her then.'' she said hopefully ''Does she know about me.''

''Hermione...she died a few days ago, she was killed, we don't know who by, but someone had been after her for a while, she had told me of her concerns at the time and also wrote a letter. She knew all about you; I told her and gave her memories. She was proud she had always been close to you when you were little. She kept tabs on you. She was so hoping to meet you when this war was over. She was terrified learning you were involved, but she knew you'd be safe and you'd survive.'' he said sadly.

''She was a lovely woman and strong. It's one of the reasons I called you hear as I learned of the news. I was going to tell you now the battle is over, and you are not in a coma; I wanted to tell you instantly as promised, but you were in no shape to be told at the time.''

''So I have no family then,'' she said, wanting to cry. Everything she knew had been a lie, and she was so confused and conflicted.

''No, you do have some family left. You are an aunty. Your Sister Sophia had twins, a boy and a girl. They have not long turned four, I believe. Your Sister, in her will, left everything to you apart from what she put aside for the twins. You are in charge of seeing to their inheritance, she wanted you to have custody of them, and Hermione, this is going to be tough. Like yourself, they have been through hell. They were there when Sophia was killed.''

Hermione jumped in her seat at what she heard ''Did they see.''

Albus nodded sadly ''yes, they saw it happen and saw what appeared to be a man, and they were now at risk. As you can imagine, they will not be pleased that someone witnessed them. Especially as they had been trying to get her for quite some time.''

Hermione sighed and rubbed her temples. ''Where are they? I will take them and their family, and they will stay with me.'' she frowned a little ''I guess I won't be able to finish Hogwarts now, then.''

''what makes you say that,.'' Albus asked curiously,

''Well, I can't stay in school with twins, can I? I mean, what about lessons I got to keep them safe because no one will hurt them,'' she vowed.

Albus smiled ''I think you are forgetting who our minister of magic is and who is still on the head of the school board, and someone loyal to us.''

Hermione's eyes widened; Lucius Malfoy and Draco had been on their side helping to win and were cleared of charges. She was close to Draco now, and then there was Kingsley, who was minister ''do you think I could do both.''

Albus smiled ''Lucius will do anything for you, and Kingsley is already aware of your true birthright and the twins. He is working with Lucius to set the groundwork should you take the twins which you have.''

Hermione relaxed slightly ''So what do I do now.''

''I will send an owl for the lawyer to come through with the twins and any documents you need to sign.''

Hermione watched as he sent Fawkes away with the letter and sat back to wait. She was nervous. She was tired and in pain. She didn't know what to think. She knew it was going to hit her soon but right now, she had to keep going, and she was about to meet her niece and nephew, whom she never knew existed till now. she was nervous about what they would do and how was she supposed to care for them when she was a stranger to them.

The fire lit up, and a tall man with dusty blond hair and blue eyes stepped out. He was holding a briefcase and a document in the other.

''Thank you for seeing me, headmaster.'' the man said smoothly.

Albus nodded ''This is miss Granger. She has said she will take charge of her nephew and niece.''

The man looked over to the famous member of the golden trio ''Indeed, and does she know what she is taking on.''

Hermione glared at the man ''she was standing right here. I know what I am taking on.'' she said tight. ''Mr, I didn't get your name.''

The man looked sheepish ''Yes, my name is Justin Case, and I am the one in charge of my client's will.''

Hermione bit her lip to stop laughing at the name ''Indeed.'' she repeated at him with a raise of a brow that her former potions professor would be proud of.

''Forgive me; I wasn't trying to imply anything. Everyone knows who you are. I want you to know that this isn't exams or to do with being the brightest witch of the age you are going to become a guardian and, in essence, a parent, a single one at that.''

Hermione ground her teeth together, and the angriest look appeared on her face ''I do not need to be in a relationship to be a guardian or a parent. My Sister chose me to be guardian, and I will do so. I know what the challenges will be. I have gone through plenty. This will be a walk in the park. I have support from my friends, headmaster and others, not to mention Harry Potter, who will become an uncle to these kids. I have enough money to provide for them, not that it's got anything to do with you. You, Mr Case, would do well to remember who I am and how old I am.''

Albus cleared his throat, amused by Hermione's takedown of the lawyer. He knew Severus would be pleased, and Minerva would get a kick out of this. ''Right shall me move things along. I assume you are a busy man.,'' he warned the man in front of him.

''Of course, forgive me,'' he pulled out a document and held it out to be signed. ''If you sign here, this will send off to the ministry and register your guardianship of the twins. It will become a legal document.''

Hermione looked over the document to be sure that it was as he stated she wasn't stupid and didn't trust the ministry despite Kinglsey's good work. ''Forgive me for taking so long. I want to read over it before signing. After all, it's what adults do, right, headmaster, if you will look with me, just in case.'' it was at that moment she registered what she said and promptly coughed. ''Sorry, choked on air,'' she said; trying not to laugh, she heard the headmaster chuckle quietly. ''Look good to you,'' she asked.

''Seems spot on.''

Hermione took the quill, signed her signature, and watched it glow gold before vanishing ''So what next.''

''I have here a copy of the will. A goblin will be in touch shortly to go over the other stuff like money, deeds, property etc. you will hear from someone shortly.''

''Okay, and the Twins, would I have them today.''

''I have sent for them. They don't have anything with them apart from a few personal items. I can arrange to go to the house-'''

Hermione shook her head. ''No, thanks, I'll take them shopping and buy all new,'' she said quickly, not wanting to go there. ''What of the children's father.''

''No father registered, just their mother. You are their last living relative.'' the man informed her curtly. He wasn't pleased with how she spoke to him. He realised he'd stared a little too long as she looked at him with a frown. He quickly schooled his features. "Verry, I will see about booking an appointment with your accountant."

"Oh, there will be no need; just send whatever documents and wills over to my Gringotts account." she quickly wrote her account number down and handed it to him. "I'm sure I can speak with a goblin. They won't put me wrong."

"But you have an inheritance from your sister that would be going to another account surely," the lawyer began.

"Why would that be? Have you read what's inside the will?" upon seeing him shake his head, she raised a brow. "Well, why would this inheritance be anything special? If she has a vault, I'm sure the goblins will point me to the correct goblin in charge," she said, dismissing him. She didn't like him not one bit, something was off, and she couldn't place her finger on it.

The lawyer wanted to argue but knew it would be a bad idea, so he just nodded with a tight-lipped smile as he waited for the brats.

"Sorry I'm late, Mr case. I had to sort some things out." said a young woman who entered with two children.

Albus smiled, "I'm sure it is okay. You can't help being busy, isn't that right, Hermione."

The woman's head shot up, and her eyes widened. "Hermione Granger," she said, shocked.

"Yes," she said, holding in a groan at the starry-eyed look

"Wow, I wasn't expecting that when I came to work this morning." she chuckled. "I can't believe I'm standing in front of Hermione Granger. Is it true Harry Potter-"

"Miss Scott, if you will please introduce the children, there is work to be done." Mr case interrupted.

Hermione didn't like the man; she didn't like the fuss, but the woman was harmless. She was young as well. "It's okay, miss Scott. It is nice to meet you even in these circumstances," she smiled.

The young woman smiled. "Right, this is Seren and Hunter," she said, gently pushing the youngsters in front.

Hermione smiled at the twins. They were so adorable, and she was shocked to see they had similar features. She guessed she and her Sister must have looked quite alike. "Hello, I'm your aunt Hermione. You're going to be staying with me. Is that okay," she said, gently bending to their level.

The twins grinned; however, "we know who you are, aunty Mi" they chorused in unison.

"Mummy told us lots of stories and showed us pictures," Hunter said sweetly.

"Uh huh, mummy said if bad things happen, you will stay with us." chimed the girl.

Hermione smiled at her niece and nephew, "of course I will. I will do anything to protect you guys. No one will harm you, not while I'm around. They'd have to get through me before they even stood a chance of hurting you, I promise." she told them seriously.

''We know.'' they chimed again.

The woman watched with a small smile. "I'm sure you'll get on great. I can already tell the children will be very happy with you," she said, smiling.

"Thank you, now. Is there anything else, Mr Case or can I take these two and get them settled and fed," she said, standing up and holding a hand each.

"That is all. My paperwork is signed. I will be in touch with Gringotts. Good luck, you'll need it," he said the last part quietly but not quiet enough as both the headmaster and Hermione had heard it, not that he was aware.

Hermione watched him leave, and the woman before sharing a look with the headmaster. "You heard that right," she said thoughtfully.

''I believe I did.'' he said gravely.

"I don't like him. Something is off, not just his dodgy name," she said, frowning. "I don't want to deal with him, but something isn't right."

"I agree, don't worry. We will discuss it at the Order this afternoon. Perhaps Kingsley could look into him or Lucius."

"Hmm, that would be best, I think," she said, shaking her head. "So, would you two like to come to see where you will be staying." she grinned at them.

''yes please.'' the twins smiled

"First off, this is my headmaster, and he will be yours one day. This is Albus Dumbledore; he's like a grandfather to me."

"Hello Mr, Dumblemore"

Albus's eyes twinkled. "Hello, children; it is nice to meet you. Now then, shall we go to your aunt's rooms." he led Hermione out with the children. He had seen that rooms had been made and added to the head's quarters. He didn't think young Mr Malfoy would have a problem sharing a room as he and Hermione had become good friends. "I have made adjustments to the headquarters. There are now two extra rooms for the twins, of course."

"Awe, thank you so much, head—Albus," Hermione said, catching herself.

Hermione muttered the password, entered the head boy and girl rooms, ushered the children in and watched their faces for their reaction.

''Wow,'' they said in awe. ''This is so cool,'' they said with a smile.

Hermione chuckled. ''You each have a room. You can either share for the time being or have your own rooms.'' she grinned.

Albus was just as excited about having little ones around. ''We could even see about decorating your rooms for you.'' he smiled when the twins grinned up at him.

Hermione rolled her eyes ''Why do I have a feeling these are going to be spoiled, and not just by you, headmaster.''

Albus chuckled. ''Alas, I think Mr Potter might just outdo me in the spoiling department.''

Hermione snorted ''Not to mention Draco, no doubt.''

I hope you have enjoyed it, I am creating more, but I got a bug for writing again. Please review so I know what your thoughts are on this story.
