GT: Phew. I almost missed the deadline. Today is Day 7 of Mega May 2022, folks! As such, I'm giving you an update to this story for it! Please enjoy and make sure to review, because I love to answer questions you may have.
"Mmn...Mmnph...M...Megaman...HUB!-!-! Aieegh!"
The room shook a little, knocking over a picture on the dresser by his bedside and onto his head. He grunted from the pain of the corner hitting him and Lan looked at the photo of him and Maylu at Castello Park earlier that year, panting from the nightmare he experienced. It honestly felt…so alive…like he could feel that…that Megaman…that Hub…was in pain…so much agony…
"...A nightmare? ...Megam…Hub…" Lan choked out, bringing a shaking hand to his chest, still feeling the pain and agony even as it faded with each beat of his heart.
*RIIING! RIIING! RIIING!*
"The phone…" Lan looked up to his desk to see his PeT shaking in its stand, "I'd better answer it. Megaman usually tells me 'It's your phone!.'" he sighed as the ringing stopped just as he was about to grab it, "Oops. Wonder who it was?" he tapped on it, "There's a message on the answering machine."
=REPLAYING MESSAGE=
The screen flickered to show an image of Chaud's face on it, "Chaud here. I have something to speak to you about. Meet me at the harbor near SciLab."
=NO FURTHER MESSAGES=
"Time to head out, I guess…" Lan noted somberly as he turned to get dressed when the PeT rang again, "Oh what now?" he answered it and blinked a few times on seeing a much younger face on it, "Mamoru?"
"Hi, Lan!" Mamoru chirped.
"H-Hey…" Lan weakly waved, "S-Sorry, Mamoru…you kinda called at a bad time here…"
"I just got done talking to Serenade! Megaman's in the Secret Area!"
"?! Y-You're not messing with me, are ya?" Lan asked, his eyes wide with shock and hope and desperation.
"No! He's in the Secret Area! You gotta come quick!"
"I got it! Thanks, Mamoru!" Lan replied as the two hung up and Lan hurried to get dressed, quickly donning his normal long-sleeved white shirt, orange vest, and black shorts with orange shoes, 'Please don't let it be a fake! Please!' he quickly dashed out of the house, unable to focus on anything but the monorail and the destination, 'Yoka…Have to get to Yoka!' he nearly stumbled as flashes came to his mind, "G-Gh?!" he squinted as he tried to make sense of them, 'What in the…' he shook them away as he ran down the stairs, 'Figure it out later! Yoka! I have to get to Hub! Please be okay! Please!'
Soft snores barely pierced the quiet atmosphere of the vast grasslands. A young man gently ran his hands through the long golden locks of the young woman, sound asleep and using his lap for a pillow. She let out a few mumbles before letting out a small, cute yawn that led to her opening her jade eyes up. She looked up to the emerald-green orbs belonging to the young man, the wind lightly blowing his navy-blue hair in it.
"Hey…" he greeted softly.
"Hiya…" she giggled before climbing into his lap.
"Good dream?" he asked.
"Yes…but I like this much better," she replied.
"Oh? How so?" he asked, wrapping his arms around her waist, the pink sundress doing little to hide her curves from him.
"Because when I'm awake, it's always with you there," she responded with a gentle kiss to his cheek, "Hey…How many do you think we have left?"
"No clue," he replied, running a hand through her hair, "But they should let us know when Lan arrives."
"Oh geez…I keep forgetting at times with how much we've done."
"Do you remember the important things from your captivity?"
"Like hell I'd forget that!" she replied, a determined look in her jade eyes as she looked into his emerald ones, "That stuff's life or death!"
He nodded as they fully got up and separated outside of holding hands, the gold wedding rings glistening in the sunlight, "So…want to do one last spar before we end this one, Roll?"
"You know me so well, Hub," she giggled.
Their outfits glowed before being replaced with black bodysuits with either light blue or pink lines going up the sides. Navy blue armored boots formed on his feet that reached up below his knees as pink and rose ones formed on hers. White armored belts formed on their waists as she gained pink chest armor resembling a sports bra while he gained navy blue, white, and silver torso armor. Gold shoulder guards formed on them both as a gold button formed above her behind. Slender armored pink gloves formed on her, reaching up to just below her shoulders, as navy-blue gauntlets covered his lower arms and left his gloved hands exposed, white and silver detailing forming on the gauntlets. A light-blue scarf of energy that reached down to the hips formed on her while a rose one formed on him, reaching the middle of his back. Similar rounded helmets in either pink and rose or navy blue, light-blue, and silver formed on their heads before differences formed. For her, the rose coloration shaped into a heart as gold round pieces attached to the 'bumps' of the 'heart' before deploying two gold antennae resembling transparent plugs that rounded out into points and gave the appearance of rabbit ears. For him, the silver rose into two 'bars' as two gold rectangles formed in the space between them.
"Ready?" Megaman asked.
"Always!" Roll beamed.
The two simply stood together for a few moments…before the area exploded, tearing the ground apart as clouds dispersed. They flickered before appearing several kilometers above, Roll's foot being blocked by the side of Megaman's arm. Another flicker and they were back on the ground in one of the craters, her fist and his foot colliding with one another. A third followed with Megaman in the bottom of a third crater and Roll's foot on his chest while he had it held in his hands by the ankle. One last flicker and both tensed at the black-covered hand gently grasping their fists mid-throw.
"My, my…I'm actually struggling," Serenade noted with an amused smile as they landed on the desolated hill now littered in holes and craters, "You two…have really reached a new plateau of power."
"It's amazing!" Roll beamed, "I never thought this was ever possible!"
"Because you were thinking Human and not NetNavi," they reminded, "But…It's time to think Human again."
"He's here?" Roll asked, still smiling.
"Mamoru's Mama sent the message," Serenade replied as the area glowed and dissipated, revealing the Secret Area, the ground below made of a myriad of glowing blue and yellow panels, "So…aside from that last one…who has more wins?"
"..." the two shared looks before sheepishly rubbing the back of their heads.
"We stopped keeping track after the 675,136th match," Megaman explained.
"That last one was Hub's win," Roll recalled.
"Hmm…I see…considering that amount and you saying Hub won…" Serenade handed Roll a black ID with a '1.5' on it, "This is an unofficial Rank for you to use in case of emergencies."
"Huh?! B-But I…I can't just…o-oh my…" Roll stammered, her antennae covering his blushing face.
"Take it. Think of it as a gift from me for the wonderful time," Serenade smiled.
"A…Alright," Roll accepted the ID, "Th-Thank you…"
"Are you sure you don't need some aspirin?" Mamoru's mother asked, walking alongside Lan to the hot springs.
"No…I'm…I'm good," Lan assured, rubbing the side of his head, 'Ugh…What are these images…? Hub…What's going on?'
"Alright…but if anything happens, you know you're welcome to have aid here," she noted with a gentle, grateful smile.
"Thanks, ma'am," Lan nodded.
They soon came upon the coed springs and opened the doors. She stayed behind as he walked out into it, Lan giving a nervous gulp as he approached the far back of it. He inhaled deeply before exhaling slowly and pulled out his PeT. He pressed it against the side of the stone surface of the side of where the hot springs water poured. The screen flickered before showing a badge with a gold '1' on it. The surface shook before a door revealed itself by sliding to the side, exposing an elevator. He walked into it as, inside, Mamoru's mother put a sign saying the springs were closed for cleaning. Minutes passed and Lan finally exited the elevator to a surprisingly modest looking server room. He wasn't surprised by any of that, though, being a frequent visitor when he had time.
"Mamoru!" Lan called, "Are you in here?"
"Over here!" the six-year-old replied, waving from a rolling chair by one of the bigger monitors, "They're on this screen!"
"Hub!" Lan called as he ran over, "?! Hub?"
"Hey, Lan," Megaman greeted.
"...Is…Is that…really you?" Lan asked.
"Of course it's me, Lan. Who do you think would be crazy enough to overload himself to get you outta the Alpha and then hide in Grandpa's virtual lab to avoid getting deleted with the Alpha?" Megaman replied, "And if that doesn't convince you, you have a picture of Maylu in that bikini from Oran Island in the fake bottom of your…"
"Okay-okay-okay-okay. That's you, alright…" Lan muttered, his cheeks turning pink before it hit him, "HUB!"
"Hey again," Megaman joked.
"How did…When did…How?!" Lan gawked, looking between him and Mamoru.
"Well…a few days after becoming Rank 1, Mamoru sent an email with an updated Rank 1 ID for me," Megaman explained, "This was when you were sleeping in on a Sunday, mind you."
"Right," Lan nodded.
"Basically, he told me he modified that ID to let me get immediate access to the Secret Area in case of emergencies," Megaman explained, "But what I like the most about it is…" he moved to the side and Roll waved, "It can teleport anyone in contact with me."
"Hi, Lan!" Roll greeted.
"Roll?!" Lan gawked before grinning, "That's amazing! You found her!"
"More like Nebula put Gutsman, Glyde, and I in a cage in their DarkChip lab where they'd do tests which just summed up as 'Let's shove a ton of these into our test subject and see what happens,'" Roll replied, "They brought Hub in, I did something stupid which Hub and everyone here has stated was stupid, and we escaped because my Recovery Element made the DarkChips go kablooey. Unfortunately, Gutsman and Glyde were more than likely Jacked Out while I got spared because Hub threw it off my head and I had to make a new one."
"Wow!" Lan awed before it clicked, "You what?!"
"How many times do I have to admit it was a dumb idea~?" Roll whined, throwing her hands up in exasperation.
"Probably a lot of times," MEgaman replied, patting his hand on her shoulder, Lan noticing a glint on his ring finger and on Roll's.
"A…Are those wedding rings?" Lan gawked.
"Well…um…yes," Megaman replied.
"We did a lot of simulations, one thing led to another in a few, and well…Hi, Lan," Roll sheepishly waved, "I guess I should introduce myself as your sister-in-law now, huh?"
"Wait, wait, wait…What's going on here? What do you mean simulations?" Lan asked.
"That is a very long story," Roll replied, "But to sum it all up in a coherent story, my Healing Element overloaded the DarkChip they put into me, Mega regained RollSoul and that somehow caused me to get MegaSoul, and it blew up both DarkChips they used, giving Mega a chance to use his Rank 1 ID to access the Secret Area and pulled me along because I fainted on him. Then we woke up here, we argued because I chose to take a DarkChip so he wouldn't be alone in the Darkness, Darkman found us, scolded Mega for bringing me and smacked him on the head for it, smacked me for being an idiot and scolded me for the DarkChip, brought us to Serenade, I got scolded for the DarkChip again, and then we went through 964 different Simulations to conquer the Dark Souls in us both, got stronger in them and learned new techniques. We beat them in Simulation 25, ended up confessing we love each other around 50 Simulations in, married Simulation 75, honeymooned 76 through 79, updated our designs Simulation 200, and have had se…" Megaman covered her mouth.
"He's twelve!" Megaman quickly spoke with a heavy blush before uncovering her mouth.
"Oh, right. Anyway…Yeah, that's pretty much it. So when do I get to see Maylu?" Roll asked, "Seriously, I am on the verge of turning a whole lotta years old mentally from those sims, and I demand to see my NetOp pronto!" she pointed a finger in the air, "I will be childish on this! This I swear!"
"Dear, please…" Megaman sighed, lowering her arm.
"W-Wait! Did you say 964?" Mamoru asked.
"Um…Yes?" Roll replied.
"B-But that shouldn't have been possible!" Mamoru noted as he tapped on his PeT's virtual screen, "Darkman was supposed to have you two set for thirty simulations! How did…?" he trailed off as his eyes widened, seeing '1000' instead of the '30' he wanted, "O-Oh my…W-We don't even have fifty simulations. How did…when did…?"
"You're welcome," Darkman stated.
"Darkman?" Lan pondered.
"Wait, wait, wait! D-Darkman, you changed the number?"
"Considering all the…issues…I was seeing, I thought it'd be good to make sure they had enough time to deal with all of them," Darkman replied, "Will admit that I also used data from old shows and animations and a few games to use as simulations…"
"I knew you were an internet troll!" Roll declared as Mamoru whimpered as he covered his face with his hands.
"O-Oh no…" Mamoru whimpered.
"Whoa now…Easy, Mamoru," Lan gently assured, "What's wrong?"
"What's wrong is that doing that many shouldn't have been possible," Yamatoman informed, looking over at the two.
"It isn't?" Serenade innocently asked, head tilting.
"...Did…Did no one tell you we don't even have fifty simulations, Lord Serenade?" Yamatoman asked.
"I thought Serenade knew," Mamoru noted.
"I did not tell Lord Serenade about it since I thought Lord Serenade knew of it already," Darkman noted.
"Mmm…" Serenade shrugged, "Not important. They survived and have become all the stronger from it, so that's good enough for me."
"Ah, no! It's a miracle they survived! Their AIs should have long since broken down!" Mamoru replied, "It should've happened around the hundredth simulation!"
"...Megaman probably survived because he's more than a NetNavi," Lan guessed, rubbing his chin in thought, "But Roll…"
"Um…That may be our fault then," Megaman noted.
"...What did you do?" Lan asked.
"Um…well…" Roll fidgeted, blushing a little, "We…shared Cyber Cores…"
"YOU WHAT?!" the Undernet NetNavis of Serenade both shouted.
"O-Oh my…" Serenade gasped, blushing hard.
"Um…Twelve-year-old boy involved in fighting a dangerous organization that took over all of Electopia's network here that doesn't get what's going on," Lan noted, pointing at himself.
"And six-year-old former patient for his six years of life lost as well," Mamoru added, pointing at himself as well.
"Only two NetNavis that truly trust in one another share Cyber Cores. It gives the other all the programs the one has in them," Yamatoman explained, "They become linked at a level no one has heard of, able to always know where the other is, to share emotions and senses. But this also has drawbacks, such as the Deletion of one will Delete the other."
"Huh? All the programs?!" Lan gawked as he looked at Megaman.
"Roll demanded I take out HubBATCH before sharing cores," Megaman explained.
"I love Lan like a brother, but I am not copying that program ever," Roll stated, "That is yours and Lan's and I am not gonna do anything to mess with it."
"Was a bit worried about that," Lan admitted with a sigh of relief before rubbing the side of his head, "And now that explains those weird flashes on my way here."
"Flashes?" Megaman repeated before Lan turned green and started dry heaving, "Lan, what's wrong?"
"Oh geez…I think I just realized that weird flash I saw…" Lan groaned, "That was Roll and…ugh…Brain Bleach, please!"
"...What was that about me?" Roll smiled sweetly.
"Mamoru, cover your ears please," Serenade advised before Mamoru did so, "Okay, it's safe."
"You're seeing glimpses of my memories from the simulations," Megaman noted as Lan nodded, still a bit green, "...You saw one of my memories of us having sex, didn't you?"
"Sex? That's what it's called when you were both naked and she was…er…um…" the green faded, giving way to Lan's face turning red from embarrassment.
"Yes," Megaman quickly replied, blushing as well.
"Ew…Naughty boys," Roll scolded in a teasing tone.
"H-Hey! Not my fault that we sometimes share memories!" Lan argued.
"Doesn't help that when we get to that point of tuning with one another, we'd both die if one of us was killed or deleted," Megaman added.
"WHAT?!"
"Did you forget that?" Megaman deadpanned at his wife.
"Well excuse me for blocking out everything while draining myself in trying to keep you alive," Roll pouted before Megaman wrapped an arm around her waist as she hugged him, "In no way does this affection mean I'm not grumpy with you at the moment for that question."
"I know, I know," Megaman assured, running a hand through her hair.
"Are we done talking about sex?" Serenade asked.
"I don't wanna know anymore," Lan stated quickly.
"I give you until Maylu hugs you later," Roll stated, putting a hand on her hip, "Then you'll get curious again. And no funny stuff with my body in mind!"
"Ech. Never," Lan stuck his tongue out.
"What's that supposed to mean?!" Roll demanded before tensing and then leaning into Megaman's hand that was scratching a spot on her head, "Mmm~"
"Glad to see those simulations where you had animal ears retained this," Megaman chuckled before looking to Serenade, "I think we're good for now. I'll give Lan The Talk when we're in private."
Serenade nodded before miming to Mamoru to uncover his ears.
"Mamoru, you have no idea how relieved I am for that failsafe you put in our Rank 1 ID," Lan sighed, putting a hand on the younger boy's shoulder with a grateful smile.
"You're welcome!" Mamoru smiled, "Though…I'm sorry about what Megaman and Roll endured when it wasn't supposed to be that many."
"Hey, hey, hey. No worries, sweetie," Roll comforted, "We're honestly grateful he did that. We were both in kinda bad places for several reasons and doing all those really helped us."
"We really can't thank all of you enough for all this," Megaman added.
"Honestly, them attacking you was the tipping point. Don't worry about the Undernet and liberating it, you three," Serenade informed with a gentle smile as the ground underneath started to crack from the power coming off the Rank 2, cold eyes of fury not matching the gentle smile, "The three of us will take care of it."
"You'll be able to clear a ton of Dark Panels if you delete all the viruses in one blow," Lan advised.
"Thank you for the advice," Yamatoman thanked.
"Okay, I'm going to Jack you and Roll out now, Megaman," Lan spoke, "They won't be able to take you again, will they, Roll?"
"I was kinda smart and factory reset her PeT before they threw us into the Net and locked us in that cage, so they have no access to any of Maylu's information and I'm no longer registered to it because I made a new helmet where the Log Out Protocol is," Roll smiled, "But I kept all the pictures with me that were in it!"
"Alright, then Jack Out and let's get Roll back to Maylu," Lan beamed before his PeT rang.
"Hey, Lan! It's your phone! You've got a phone call from Baryl!" Megaman informed.
Lan quickly answered and flinched under the frown he was receiving, "Hikari…You were meant to report to the harbor."
"Oh! Um…s-sorry…" Lan apologized, "I had to report to the Secret Area server's location due to Megaman."
"You and him are Rank 1," Baryl recalled, "The Ranked must be up in arms on him going MIA."
"Not exactly, sir," Megaman informed as Lan turned the PeT to show him the NetNavi on screen, Roll having hidden behind him once more.
"?! Megaman?" Baryl asked in surprise.
"Yes, sir. I was able to escape with a captive they had…one with a lot of vital information on Nebula and their real plans."
"Bring them to SciLab immediately."
"Um…One issue with that…" Lan noted.
"She refuses to divulge until she reunites with her NetOp," Megaman advised, "We will be unable to report until the morning, but we will have a detailed report on everything ready for you and Chaud to examine."
"...Very well. We will convene tomorrow," Baryl acquiesced, "If this freed prisoner has vital information that we do not have at this time, it's better to learn about it."
"Will do, sir," Megaman assured.
"And we're all relieved you were able to escape," Baryl nodded before hanging up.
"Phew…I actually forgot that phone call the moment Mamoru said you were in the Secret Area," Lan admitted, wiping some sweat that formed during the call.
"Oh god…" Roll groaned, pacing around in Megaman's bedroom in the PeT, "It's been so long! Even longer for me than her! A-And just think of how we're acting! She's gonna be weirded out and I'm worried how this will affect her studies and her piano practices…" she gasped, "Has she even been doing her piano lessons?!"
"Um…well…she wasn't at first," Lan replied, "I actually had to climb into her room through the sliding glass door on her balcony and carry her around because of how depressed she got for the first few days after you went missing."
"That just makes it worse!" Roll threw her hands up in the air before collapsing onto the bed with a groan and her hands in her face, "I'm gonna be so weird to her!"
"It will be alright," Megaman assured, rubbing her back in comfort, "We figured that out around Simulation 500, remember? We just need to be calm about this and explain it carefully."
"R-Right…" Roll sniffled.
"Well…We're finally back in ACDC. So…um…I'm worried, too. But, you helped me understand things with that talk on the way here," Lan noted, "So maybe doing that with Maylu will help her understand?"
"Maybe, Lan," Megaman noted, "But no matter what, we'll get through this together like always."
"Mmm…" Maylu sighed as she closed the cover to her piano's keys, the SubPeT's timer going off, "...That was terrible…"
It was an understatement in the redhead's opinion. Ever since Nebula kidnapped Lan's dad and their Navis and then took over the whole Network of Netopia, it's been that way. Lan had even been pulled into this whole thing because of them taking his dad and because of them targeting him for interfering with their plans with that meteor. He could lie and deny all he wanted, but she knew very well he was a member of that rumored team.
The worst part of everything wasn't just Lan being involved in it all…it was the loneliness. Sure, she'd sometimes see Yai or Mrs. Hikari, but at the end of the day…she didn't have that nightly familiarity…that time of peace of just talking with Roll, of having fun being with her and thinking of new ways to improve their Netbattling skills for small tournaments…to have a fun time listening to music and figuring out how to make piano editions of them for piano practice…to have her big sister (even if she was made when Maylu was 6, she had been made to be older looking than the six-year-old at the time and they liked the addressing in private) with her and not remember how lonely she was with her parents not…She shook her head and rubbed the tears out of her eyes on her sleeve.
'Don't think on that! Lan will find them…Lan will find Roll…I-I know he will!' Maylu thought before her doorbell rang, "C-Coming!" she wiped more tears as she walked over to the door, taking in a few deep breaths to calm herself before opening it to see Lan, "Oh! Lan!"
"Hey, Maylu. Can I come in?" Lan asked.
"S-Sure. Um…D-Do you want anything to drink?" Maylu asked, letting Lan in.
"No. I don't think it's a good idea at the moment," Lan replied as he looked at the TV nearby, "Is that turned on?"
"Huh? Why do you need the TV on?" Maylu asked.
"It's a surprise," Lan replied.
"Um…alright?" Maylu replied as she turned it on and Lan aimed his PeT at the Jack-In port…before Maylu's eyes widened on seeing who appeared on the screen, "?! R-Roll…?"
"Maylu," Roll choked out, tears welling in her eyes, "I…I'm home…"
"Remember when I was acting weird last night and this morning?" Lan asked, "That's because Megaman got kidnapped by Nebula. They didn't think of checking him for an emergency access link we keep on him for emergencies and, well…Roll was holding onto him at the time. So…surpr-YIPE!" he yelped as Maylu tackled him in a hug, tears flowing down her face.
"Thankyouthankyouthankyouthankyou!" Maylu thanked rapidly in her sobs of joy and relief.
"Oh, that is just precious," Roll whispered, leaning into Megaman as the two just watched Lan scrambling to try to comfort the sobbing redhead.
"It is," Megaman agreed, gently wiping the tears in her eyes before they waited for Maylu to calm down enough for Lan to sit her and himself on the couch, the redhead refusing to let go of the brunette, who was blushing as the way she was holding meant his lap was her seat.
"Um…That's not all that happened between the time we escaped and Lan getting us," Roll noted, fidgeting now.
"Huh? W-What do you mean?" Maylu asked.
"Maylu…we…um, that is…" Roll tried to find the right words, "This is going to sound strange and…oh…"
"You know we're digital life forms, right?" Megaman gently asked, earning a nod from Maylu, "We have the ability to think faster than any human and probably could have an entire month's chat in the first ten seconds in the human world if we're being generous enough."
"We…had to go through some simulations while waiting for Lan to pick us up from where the link sent us," Roll spoke up, "It…pushed our processing skills to the point that we…um…spent a combined several centuries on the verge of a full millennia with each other in several lifetimes through these Simulations."
"I was just as confused as you are right now," Lan assured, "But, um…look at their hands."
"Their hands?" Maylu pondered as she looked at the screen and gasped, "Are those…wedding rings?!"
"Yes, but we agreed to not have the actual ceremony or anything until after Nebula is beaten down and everyone can be there," Roll replied, "Mentally, we've been married for…a long time now."
"We had to do the simulations to fight off and master the Dark Souls that formed in us due to Nebula's actions," Megaman explained.
"?! A Dark Soul?!" Maylu gasped, looking at Roll in worry.
"It's okay! It's all good!" Roll quickly assured, "We have a tight grasp on it all and we've gotten stronger due to our experiences in those Simulations. It's a part of us, yes, but it can't take control nor control others like what happened at the Eagle Tournament."
"We just blame Shademan and then the kidnapping for Roll's forming," Megaman stated, "And, well…I'm really sorry I didn't ask for your permission to marry her. It just…happened in one Simulation."
"They went through almost a thousand of them," Lan added.
"Some were shorter than others, others were far longer," Roll noted, "Though Hub and I agree on one very important one…"
"We never talk about the evil rabbit," both stated with a shudder.
"?" the two pre-teens blinked a few times.
"Long story we will never discuss," both NetNavis replied.
A few moments passed as they let Maylu soak in the information before she finally asked, "S-So…what does this mean for…for us, Roll?"
"Well, it means I won't always sleep in the homepage. Sometimes, you'll wake up and I'll be in Lan's with Hub. Sometimes, you'll find him sleeping with me in yours," Roll explained.
"We talked a lot about this during a few Simulations," Megaman added, "We'd do all we could to try to give some normalcy for you both because you're our family but we also want you both to be aware of our change in relationship status and that we'll sometimes want to spend time alone with one another."
"We wanna take this slow with you both because we don't want to cause any issues," Roll spoke, "We may be married, but this is something we grew used to while you both haven't had the time to process it. For crying out loud, the last time you saw us together, we were still tiptoeing around the other!"
"We also may do things that you'll find strange," Megaman added, "We tend to spar…a lot…and unlike humans with muscle memory, those simulations also influenced our bodies to handle what we've done in them. It's why our bodies have altered on how they look."
"We're both excited to show you what's happened and worried too," Roll admitted.
"We even had to put on limiters before we were allowed to leave the SecretNet," Megaman noted to give an example.
"Limiters?"
"We could be considered Giga Class bordering Tetra Class and straight Tetra Class if we're operated by you two," Roll winked.
"Giga Class?!" Maylu gasped, "We were just barely into the Mega Class before you were kidnapped!" she pursed her lips.
"Ratty."
"WHERE?!" Roll freaked, looking around frantically with her arrow out…before frowning as Megaman snickered, "...You are in so much trouble later, Hub Saito Hikari."
"I'll gladly accept it," Megaman chuckled as Maylu blinked a few times before laughing.
"Ah! Maylu~!" Roll whined, blushing now.
"I-I'm sorry! B-But you still have that issue with them?" Maylu asked between laughs.
"Mice in general hate her," Megaman admitted with a chuckle.
"Mmm~" Roll pouted, covering her embarrassed face with her antennae once more.
"You see? This is why I hope SciLab can figure out how to replicate that weird event caused by Grave without the radiation," Roll pouted, her normal outfit replaced with a pink nightgown with her hair let loose as she sat beside Megaman on his bed, her husband in a pair of blue pajamas, "I really wanna give you both such a big hug you're so cute together!"
"You sure have gotten a lot more…talky…" Lan noted, wearing similar pajamas as Megaman.
"I prefer 'more Genki Girl,' thanks!"
Maylu giggled, wearing a red nightgown, "She's always been like this, Lan. It's honestly a big relief to know she still does that."
"An excellent idea doing a sleepover," Megaman complimented, "That way we can keep talking and catch up with each other."
"I'm surprised Lan suggested it."
"Hey…" Lan pouted.
"And speaking of suggestions, Maylu~! You wanna grow out your hair, right?"
"Roll…" Maylu sighed.
"It has been too long since we argued! I still say you should! More to hug!"
"She's a hugger, especially after that one simulation with all the cute critters."
"I still demand a cute little Eevee! And if not? Emolga, Pachirisu, and Dedene are acceptable replacements!"
"I have no idea what those are," Maylu noted.
"Darkman gave me copies of what he used to make those simulations. I'll share a bit later," Megaman assured, "But for now, think tiny adorable critters that are either fluffy or can zap people who annoy you."
"...I kinda wanna see one now…" Maylu admitted, her curiosity of the cuteness piqued.
"They're not real, are they?" Lan asked.
"Video games, animations, and comics only."
"I still say Scorbunny would be ideal for Lan. Both like soccer."
"I'm honestly unsure myself for Maylu, Roll. Maybe an Eevee because it has a lot of potential like you and her?"
"They did warn us," Maylu whispered as the two listened as the two started debating on what would be ideal for her and Lan.
"Yeah…Hey…Hey! Guys~!" Lan called.
"Yes, Lan?" Both asked.
"Lost here," Lan gestured to the two.
"Ah! My bad," Roll sheepishly apologized.
"Maybe we should run one of the games for them? Help understand?"
"Go with Sword. I love that the Legendary you catch there is a confirmed girl," Roll giggled.
"No backseat gaming."
"Phooey."
"Sounds kinda neat. Though…maybe later you can show us what you guys can do now?" Lan asked.
"We promise," Roll assured before giggling in excitement, "We're total BAMFs now."
"Total what?" Maylu asked.
"Uh…"
"We're on a whole new level so to speak," Megaman assured, giving a light slap to the back of Roll's head before she sheepishly rubbed the back of it with her tongue sticking out a little, "And no repeating that Acronym around Mama, Lan! She will ground the both of us until you're in high school…in the last year of it!"
"Ack!" Lan sweated nervously at that as Maylu tilted her head before frowning at Roll.
"S-Sorry, Maylu…" Roll apologized, rubbing the back of her head sheepishly.
Maylu sighed before smiling, "I'm so happy you're back, Roll."
"I'm glad to be back, Maylu," Roll returned the smile with her own before turning to look at Lan, "Oh…And I wanna join the joint team lead by Colonel and Protoman that you're the NetOp for in Liberation Missions, Lan."
"H-Huh?!" Lan snapped out of it.
"I knew it!" Maylu exclaimed as she pointed at him with a pout, "You are involved."
"Nebula has the whole roster of members on a list," Megaman explained, "Roll knew about it since the first Liberation Mission. And I think the girls will be a great benefit, both as support, healing, and frontline combat." he held up a hand when Lan opened his mouth, "Think about it, Lan. We nearly lost to them in the Eagle Tournament. If it wasn't for the UnderShot Customize Program, they'd be the winners of it."
"Mmm…T-True…"
"And they won that big tournament that you wanted to enter but got that really bad sickness that put you in the hospital until the finals," Megaman added.
"We were so cool," Roll giggled, "And I'm sure we'll sway favor to you begging us to join after Hub and I demonstrate. But first…I want my corgi with the heart on their tushy!"
"The what?!" Maylu asked.
"Maylu, it is one of the cutest puppers! Get that game going! Hurry, hurry, hurry!"
"Hai, hai," Megaman rolled his eyes in amusement, 'Tonight we play and be merry…for tomorrow, we begin to stop Nebula and go through hell to do it.'
GT: Okay, next time we'll be taking on the game events that come. You folks will also be having some fun with this because you'll get to see some moments in some simulations they did at times at the start of chapters next chapter.
