Justice for Caroline
Caroline Forbes POV
'What does he have to gain by having me shot, other than exposing me of course, oh yes, and custody of the girls' I am brought out of my thoughts by Tony wrapping his arms around me "What's got you awake, baby girl?" I sucked in a breath "How could he?" I hissed out.
"Because he's a mess, because he's not grieved his wife properly, because he's angry"
Steve was stroking my sides. I was thinking too deeply.
"He's right, baby girl, but whatever his problems, they are his mess, not yours"
I started sobbing "He tried to abduct the girls, nullifying the custody agreement"
"But they are not kidnapped, they are at Nursery, they are safe, baby girl" Steve caressed my face. "You're right, they are safe" I took a deep breath
"We have decided to have Agent Coulson and Clint with the girls from the moment they leave the tower to go to their Nursery and back to the tower. We aren't' taking any chances, not again" Tony and Steve looked deadly serious
My phone was ringing, it was 8am, Pepper had given me the day off after yesterday's events and my mind was still spinning.
The name on the screen flashed up and I dropped the phone before numbly picking it up again. I decided to swipe right and pick up the call.
"Hello, Love" the familiarly English drawl came through the speaker.
"Klaus, how are you?" I say politely
"I should be asking you that, sweetheart, after you got shot on top of the Avengers float that you painstakingly organised with your fair hands" I dropped the phone, and it knocked the loudspeaker function.
"Caroline, are you there?" I was freaking out, fully, back in my bedroom in Mystic falls being violated, compelled, and treated like 'his' own personal Juice-box. I choked as Steve pulled my head to his shoulder and he whispered "Breathe baby"
Tony Stark POV
"You have shit timing Klaus, that's the first thing, how did you catch the news of NYC Pride when you live in New Orleans?"
"You must be Tony Stark, the Iron man" I could hear the smirk in his voice
"Yep, that's me, listen, Caroline can't talk, she's busy, freaking out, because of your reminder"
"I didn't mean to distress her, honestly"
"Yes, well, you did, why are you calling her now?"
"I called her out of concern for her welfare. Alaric Saltzman confessed that he organised the hit on her, knowing it would be seen on TV. He wanted to create a diversion so that he could abduct her daughters. The culprit was Damon Salvatore, her rapist" I could hear him breathing heavily. "Tell me something good, Klaus, before I use the Hulk to "smash" that cocky rapist into the fucking ground!"
"I can help you" he stated "He is also the murderer of her best friend Bonnie Bennett" Steve said quietly as he continued to hold our girl tightly.
"Then he deserves to die!" Klaus hissed
Caroline took the phone from me "I get that pleasure of killing him, I'm going to rip his heart out! You will hold him while I do it! Don't you dare take that justice away from me!"
"Oh, I will hold him down all right, then I'll drown him in Vervain water!" Tony snarked as Klaus chuckled. "I just wanted to ask, do you love her, Steve Rogers and Tony Stark?"
"More than this whole fucking universe, till the end and in our next life, Klaus"
"Good, keep her safe, I'll meet you two and Caroline and the twins at H-square"

Klaus POV
I hugged Caroline and knelt to shake hands with her beautiful daughters. "It's good to see you, Caroline" I took her hands "I was so sorry to hear about your mother, Sweetheart, you must miss her very much" she says thank you quietly
"I wanted to introduce little Josie and Lizzie to my daughter Hope, would you come out from behind my leg, baby girl?" Hope ducked out shyly and stepped forward "Hope, this is Josie and Lizzie, also this is Tony stark aka Iron Man and Steve Rogers aka Captain America"
"Really, for real, daddy!?" Hope giggled "It's genuinely nice to meet you, I want to be a superhero when I grow up and protect the earth like you do" Tony's face brightened "You never know kiddo, you could end up as an avenger, like us" He tickled my daughter's nose as she giggled again "Hope, sweetheart, why don't you ask the lovely lady at the bar for menu's, take Josie and Lizzie with you" Hope kissed my cheek "Love you, daddy"
Caroline's eyes crinkled up in a wide smile "Klaus, she's so sweet, you must be so proud of her" I smiled back "I am, I couldn't believe I was to be a father when Hayley first came to me"
"So, just out of curiosity, you're a vampire, vampires are sterile, unless it was a magical transfer like Caroline's daughters" Caroline put her hand on Tony's and shook her head, but I didn't mind answering "I'm a hybrid, a werewolf, and a vampire, I'm 1024 years old and an original, the first vampires. My daughter is a tribrid, a witch, a vampire, and a werewolf, she was nature's loophole, and I am blessed that she loves me"
"Klaus, you look like you've finally found peace" I looked at Caroline with moist eyes
"I have, sweetheart, but I want to talk about Damon Salvatore 'sick rapist extraordinaire'
"Don't you dare!" Caroline started to hyperventilate in front of me "Ste… can't breathe…not good!" Tony levelled a death glare at me "Wait-to-go, dick" He grabbed her pulling her back to his chest "Breathe, baby girl, name three things, come' on, you can do this!"
"Table… Bar stool" tears poured down her face "Leather seats!" she stopped breathing erratically "I thought I could do this" she sobbed, and I felt immediately contrite
"Caroline, I'm so sorry" she smacked my arm lightly and I fake-gasped "it's okay, just need the bathroom, Steve, can you get the girls back to our table" she rushed to the bathroom. He nodded and replied "Sure thing, doll" he gave her peck on the lips and went to fetch the girls
"I can get Caroline a therapist, who is aware of the supernatural, would it help, only time will tell, she was my therapist, her name is Camille O' Connell, and she's a very dear friend of mine" I reached into my wallet and gave Tony Stark the card with Camille's number on.
Steve Rogers POV
Tony looked frustrated as he tapped away on his tablet. The GPS tracking dot kept disappearing. "Tony-bear" I held his gauntlet covered hand "Why the fuck does the asshole keep moving and then vanishing?" Klaus blurred to the next tree and Caroline stayed with us in her new nanotech vibranium suit with a giant V on her chest. "Klaus, got him, he's in his bathroom!" I said quietly. "Good, Caroline, Tony, Steve, let's go kill the vile rapist!"
Tony smiled at us "Remember, this is Caroline's, baby blue, if he gets angry, and prissy with us, you are to stake him to the fucking wall and let our baby girl do her thing, Klaus, you especially, behave" he rolled his eyes "Got it Tony"
"Good, let's go get the bastard!" I slammed my helmet down
Damon Salvatore POV
I came to in the old Lockwood cellar and I screamed. "Hello, sick rapist" the woman in the suit smirked. "What are you talking about?" I slurred "Don't you recognise me, aww, you should!" she hissed "Blondie!"
"Yeah, the blondie whom you raped, you sick fuck!" Iron Man! Captain America! were here
"You tried to take the girls away from me!" she hissed at me.
"And! You are/were the surrogate womb; Elena should have been their mother"
"Pffft, that much I agree on. Why did you shoot me!" he didn't answer so I slapped him, hard

"You think that excuses you from raping our girl!" Tony said incredulously. I knew that he was furiously trying not to take Caroline's revenge away from her, so I smirked. Captain America was itching to rip my heart out. So, I decided to make the situation worse. So much for America's favourite son.
"I think it does, yes!" Blondie snapped her head back to me. "What about Bonnie?!" she screeched "She betrayed Alaric by helping you!"
"So, you killed her!"
"Yes, I did" I said smugly "Oh how she looked when I ripped her heart out, the shock on her face. I did that, you blonde shallow bitch! I enjoyed doing it too. You are nothing!"
Klaus POV
My rage increased as I listened to the rapist boast, but I had to keep control, Tony Stark was losing it completely, so I blurred into the room and rushed him from there "What the fuck Klaus?" he kept struggling "Let me go!" he shouted "You will calm down, Stark, I have a plan"
He immediately stopped struggling "Remember how I told you that I am the original hybrid?"
"Yeah, what of it?"
"Well, my bite is deadly to vampires, the only cure is my blood"
"You're kidding, that is a strange loophole you got there, Klaus" I chuckled nodding in agreement.
"I get that every time" I drawl, and Tony Stark pats my shoulder "Bite that sick bastard while we hold him down, then leave him to suffer, chained up with nowhere to go, but to hell!"
"Yes!" my eyes turn golden as my double fangs come out "Huh, creepy" he grins at me.
I blurred him into the room again "Klaus, what did you get the freaky original Hybrid involved for!" Damon shouted at Caroline who smirked "We aren't going to kill you yet, Damon, you will be begging for death!" she slapped him, and I did my worst, biting down on his neck, he screamed when my werewolf venom entered his blood.
Tony laid a hand gently Caroline's arm as he could see her breaking "Damon" he blearily glared at her "Burn in hell!" she hissed and left the cellar room.
We followed her out "Klaus, I was wrong about you, you are quite a decent man, for a hybrid" Tony smiled, and Steve Rogers grinned widely back at me.
"Thank you, you are incredibly good to Caroline, Vampirism and what-not, she's happy and that's all I've ever wanted for her"
"We love her, but this is equal between all three of us, it's why I made her the nanotech suit, Stevie's got his super-serum, Caroline has her vampirism. She'll get through this. I have my arc reactor, we'll be okay" Tony's face lit up as he looked at Caroline and Steve.
I smiled and nodded "And I have my Hope, who brightens up even my darkest days"
"Are we friends?"
"I hope so, take care of Caroline" he smiled
I laid my hand on Caroline's arm and smiled "Be happy, sweetheart" Caroline kissed my cheek "Thanks for the help, we might visit New Orleans one day, you owe me a tour"
I laughed "You kept the message" she smiled impishly "Sure I did"
"I'm flattered, keep being the strong beautiful person you are, goodbye, and see you all soon I hope" I left the three at their car. Steve was kissing her forehead as Tony stroked her neck.
County Jail visit
Caroline's POV
Alaric was sitting there pathetically in his seat. "Tell me why?" I hissed, my vampire visage nearly making an appearance. "I don't know!" he cried "I should bring in the big guns and take Klaus up on his offer to compel you, that way you might catch a fucking clue as to the misery, you are putting our girls through" Alaric was weeping openly "He's dead, Klaus bit him and he died within the week. I shouldn't have enjoyed it. But after everything that you and that rapist bastard put me through! I did, and you know what. I can live with that. But you are slowly killing yourself. Do you even care for your daughters?" he nods "Good, then clean up, go into rehab and therapy. Six weeks of your life is worth the struggle, do this for you, Ric, not for the girls, not for me, for you" He looked up with reddened swollen eyes and nodded. "Good, now, Tony Stark posted your bail, and his driver is waiting to take you to the Clinic" he stood up and followed me to the Black SUV that Agent Hill was driving "Make sure he gets there, Barton, and don't leave until he's through the doors and in safe hands"
Barton aka Hawkeye saluted me as Alaric ducked into the SUV. "Get better soon Ric"
I took a walk to the coffee shop and the grocers, searching out fresh fruit and I heard a voice
"Caroline!" It was Stefan and Valerie back from their world tour. In New York "Stefan, look at you, you look great, and you Valerie, it's so good to see you both" I squealed as I pulled them into a hug. That's when I heard it, a heartbeat coming from Valerie's Abdomen "You're kidding, Stefan, Valerie you are having a baby!" I squealed again "Yep, Surprise!" I was over the moon. I started crying "This is so great!" Stefan looked pleased as punch. I hugged them both again. "We wanted to check in with you, you are sneaky, you never told us you got a Job with Stark Industries" I smiled "No way, you got a job with the Iron Man!" Stefan gasped and I nodded "And Captain America" Stefan spotted the sparkler on my left-hand wedding ring finger. "You are engaged to which Avenger, exactly?"
"Tony Stark and Steve Rogers" Stefan went silent then laughed as Valerie arched her eyebrow. "How do you manage two of them?" he smirked waggling his eyebrows
"None of your business, Stefan Salvatore!" I blushed "Hell no, you, my best friend and sober sponsor are not getting out of telling us that easily. How are the little munchkins by the way"
"They are good and adapting to life in the SI tower. Tony renamed it 'The Avengers Tower' Do you feel up to a visit?" They both nodded excitedly. I got my purchases as Stefan ordered two take-out coffees (one a decaf latte, Valerie's pregnant)
Tony Stark and Steve Rogers POV
"Hey, baby girl" I kissed her thoroughly "Tony-bear, we have guests, nookie goodness later"
Steve got down from the ladder, he was tree decorating "Hi" he gave me a kiss on the lips that I felt all the way down to my toes. "This is Stefan and Valerie" My eyebrows arch "So this is Damon's brother" He shakes my hand as Caroline flinches as I mention that name and manages to keep herself together, the therapy is working, but our girl still has hard limits. "And this is Valerie Tulle Salvatore, they got married in Brazil" I grin at Caroline "I see and have you told your best friend our news?" I kiss her cheek "Of course, he could hardly fail to notice the sparkler on my wedding ring finger" Steve takes her hands and kisses them "Missed you, baby girl" he whispers. Stefan and Valerie blush.
"Good, now I assume you want a tour of the tower, and to meet the others?" They nod
"Cool, I'll just get two tablets for your walking tour of the tower" I turn and walk to my desk and find two spare tablets to give to the couple. "JARVIS, can you ask pepper to come up here please?" the couple in front of me jump back when my A.I speaks from the ceiling "Of course, sir, she's on her way up" they smiled sheepishly "Sorry, never spoke to an A.I before"
I wave them off to the elevator. "No worries, go, enjoy"
As soon as Pepper took the couple away for their tour "It's good to see you happy, Care" Stefan called out over his shoulder "Thank you Stefan, that means a lot, I'm glad you are happy too" Steve and I looked at each other clueless "Valerie's pregnant" Caroline confirms
"Oh, hence the decaf latte, I see" We decide to pull her to the sofa for a heavy make-out session or massage session "I'm really trying, Tony, to get past the fear. Seeing Stefan has stirred up old neurotic habits" I carry on massaging her shoulders as Steve massages her feet. I kiss her cheek "You'll be okay, in the end, baby girl" Steve was tickling her feet now and she laughed trying to pull her leg away. "Catch me if you can?" she shouted as she blurred away to our bedroom, her clothes going everywhere as we followed and undressed too.
