Chapter 2: The Nature of Relationships
The next day, we all met at the Carnegie Library in Oakland to discuss relationships due to the other library's rooms being unavailable during tax session. "Hi, guys!" I greeted my friends. "Hi, Angel!" Sarah greeted back. Before the discussion group, we jammed out to NSYNC, 98 Degrees, Kate Bush, and Lizzo. "We were just talking about how we all first met and became friends yesterday," Alex stated. "I thought Angel was a friendly and outgoing young girl when I first met her in Natrona Heights," Carly stated. "I was still your good old male pal," Spencer agreed. "I didn't know you until I married your mom, Carly," Mr. Benson stated. "Angel and I met through our love of music," Alex pointed out. "At the very first football game that she saw us perform at, she saw our leadership skills," Justin added. "I was Band Council Treasurer by collecting important dues." "Alex and I were both Band Council Secretaries by taking attendance for important events," Max added. "Do you remember where we first met and became friends, Angel?" Sarah asked me. "Of course I do," I replied. "At your parents' wedding at the Natrona Heights Presbyterian Church." "Yes, and we were excited to meet yet another new friend," James added. "I would have another older sister," Henri pointed out. "The church is also very important to us because our honors banquet was also held there," Sarah remembered. "To maintain these relationships, we must treat each other the way we would want to be treated, care about each other, and respect each other, as well as show trustworthiness," I pointed out to everyone. "Unfortunately, we cannot join you for dinner because we are going to have dinner and play games before our drawing challenge, which takes place back home," Sarah told us. "We should just use up our activities for Saturdays and Sundays because it is just so much fun," Carly agreed. Some of us quickly left the library and went across the street to Five Guys for dinner. "What is happening to the world?" Alex asked in a tearful tone of voice. "What if we can't do any of my scheduled activities this month?" "You don't know that for sure, Alex," I stated. "Even if it did happen, we would try to at least work something out during the week." After dinner, Alex, Justin, Max, and I headed back to James and Henri's house in Squirrel Hill South for a drawing challenge. Once that was over, it was time for all of us to go home. "Thanks for a great day, everyone!" I thanked my friends. "You're welcome, Angel," Sarah replied. "Good night, guys!" "Good night!"
