After finding Gilly's wallet, Luna and her new friend made their way back to the intersection where they had initially met.
"Alrighty, so you didn't have to do anything else before we head toward Breeze Peak?" Gilly asked Luna cheerfully.
"H-huh?" Luna's eyes shifted back to Gilly as she was stuck in thought about what she saw just a half hour ago, "Oh, nope! I'm ready! I've got my Pokemon and we are good to go!"
"Great!" replied Gilly, "How about you, Heidi!?" she asked enthusiastically, trying to get the Medicham pumped up.
"Ch-cham!" Heidi threw her arm up in the air, her face was still red from before.
"Looks like everyone is pumped up then! Let's get to it!" Gilly marched along playfully, matching Luna's giddy personality.
Luna smiled as they walked together and thought, "Maybe I can talk to her about what happened earlier. I don't want to scare her about it though. Or make it seem like I was spying on her... Even though I kinda was. But, she is just like me, Ted, and Pisces. I truly thought that I was the only person around with feelings like that towards Pokemon. And it would really be nice to talk to someone who understands me... Maybe it won't be so bad if I talk to her about it?"
"Luna? Luna!?" Gilly chimed in Luna's ear the second time.
"Ah! S-sorry! I totally got lost in thought! What's up?" Luna smiled.
"You were in your own world there for a second, and earlier too! Is everything alright?" Gilly asked sincerely.
"O-Oh, it's nothing really!" Luna desperately tried to make something up in a panic, "I was just wondering how strong your Pokemon were!"
"Is that what you were really thinking about?" Gilly scrunched up her mouth to the side, trying to determine if Luna was telling the truth.
"Y-Yeah! I love to battle so much! I usually ask every trainer I come across for a battle whenever I can!" Luna lied through her teeth.
"Ohh..." Gilly replied smiling while thinking to herself, 'She's one of those trainers...' "S-Sure! I don't mind having a battle with you!"
'CRAP.' Luna thought as she fakely smiled back, "Oh, thank you so much! It would mean the world to me!"
The two girls both reluctantly made their way toward a clearing for their battle.
"I'm so stupid. That was stupid. This is stupid. Why am I doing this?" Luna whispered to herself as she walked to the other end of the battlefield out of earshot of Gilly.
Luna put her fake smile back on as she turned to face Gill, "Alright Slither, let's go."
She threw her Pokeball into the air and Slither landed promptly in front of her.
Gilly smiled thinking, "I hope she isn't gonna ask to battle every day..." before letting Heidi walk out onto the field.
The Medicham and Salandit stood opposite of each other.
Luna shook off her feelings of embarrassment for the moment and breathed in, "Maybe this could be a good experience, who knows!?" she said psyching herself up.
"Best out of two?" Gilly shouted across the field.
"Sounds good to me!" Luna gave a thumbs up, "Alright let's do this! Slither march forward!"
Slither nodded and began approaching Heidi as his lizard legs skittered as fast as they could.
"Heidi! Do your thing, Sis!" Gilly cheered her Pokemon on.
"Slither, use scratch," shouted Luna.
Slither dashed like a viper toward Heidi, who was in a defensive position.
Slither leaped forward towards the Medicham with his claw raised, ready to attack. But before Slither could touch Heidi with his claw, the Medicham slammed her palm into slithers stomach with lightning speed, stopping his momentum mid-air. And before he could land, Heidi gathered psychic energy at the base of her forehead and used Zen Headbutt, sending the Salandit skidding across the ground in a plume of dirt and foliage.
Luna's mouth was agape in shock as she witness Slither come to a stop, completely unconscious from the sudden maneuver.
Slither sat on his back with his tongue to the side as his eyes rolled around; Luna returned the Pokemon to his Pokeball.
"Sorry about that! I have some extra potions on me to heal him up after the battle!" Gilly shouted, genuinely feeling bad for the Pokemon.
"W-What was that!? I didn't even hear you tell her when to attack!" Luna was shocked.
Gilly nodded, "I don't need to tell her. Heidi knows when to attack!"
"B-But!" Luna shook her head as she focused back on the battle, "Come on, Casper! You can do this!"
Luna tossed Casper out onto the field, and the Pokemon fluttered, excited to battle.
He noticed Heidi in a defensive position across from him and quickly understood what was going on. Still, the friendly Pokemon waved at the Medicham.
Heidi blinked a bit confused at Casper for a moment before smiling and waving back then getting back into her defensive position.
"Casper, use Fairy Wind and Ancient Power! Keep your distance from her, she's dangerous up close!" Luna warned.
Casper began throwing his ranged attacks at Heidi who then lowered her stance and ran head-on toward Casper's attacks. Right when Casper's attacks seemed to land, Heidi used dance-like movements to swerve right through them and approach right underneath where Casper was flying.
"Casper, dodge it!" Luna shouted preemptively.
Heidi crouched down and leaped up with incredible speed, her fist began to glow brightly as electricity gathered around it.
Casper fluttered his wings but, she was too fast. Heidi landed a direct hit with her Thunder Punch. The attack sent Casper upwards before he crashed onto the ground below, landing at the same time as Heidi. Heidi assumed her defensive position as Casper struggled to stand back up.
"Hey! Let's call it there! You definitely won that one." Luna spoke out, not wanting her Pokemon to get hurt more than they already were.
"Yeah, that's fine!" Gilly waved.
After hearing this, Heidi immediately broke her defensive stance and hurried over to help Casper back to his feet. She bent over and held his hands as he slowly stood up and stretched his recently zapped wings before slowly floating back into the air.
"Medicham! Medi..." she had a look of guilt on her face for injuring her new friend as she apologized to him.
"Toge! Togetic!" Casper nodded and seemed to accept the apology.
Luna walked up to the two Pokemon and sprayed Casper's wings with the potion she had on her.
Heidi walked to the side of her approaching trainer, "That was a good fight!"
Gilly tried to cheer up Luna.
Luna turned towards Gilly and Heidi, staring them both down, "How the heck are you that good!?"
Gilly was taken a bit back as Luna walked up to Heidi and suddenly grabbed her by the shoulders.
"I mean seriously!? That was some force behind those punches! and the way you dodged was incredible!" Luna was beaming. She then did the same to Gilly, "And you didn't even tell her how or when to fight! How did you train her to do that!?"
Gilly smiled nervously thinking, "Oh dear Arceus, she really is one of those trainers..."
she cleared her throat, "W-Well, we've been battling since I was twelve so it took us both a while to get good at it. And I'm Twenty-two now so that's ten years of experience behind the two of us! B-but Heidi's always sorta knew how to fight on her own! I barely need to tell her anything during a battle nowadays."
"Oh, wow! That is so crazy! You're twenty-two!?" Luna gasped.
"Y-yeah, wait. That's what you took away from that?" Gilly snorted aloud.
"I mean, not entirely! But yes, too!" Luna laughed, "Being a trainer for Ten Years is of course holy shit cool too! B-But I totally thought you were Eighteen like me!"
The two laughed genuinely at the awkwardness before deciding to continue their conversation as they walked.
"So," Luna started, "the big part, you've been a Pokemon Trainer for the past ten years and you are still young, why the sudden career change if you're such a good Trainer?"
"Well, there's a couple of reasons for that! First, I was never very popular or got any sponsorships that lasted while being a trainer, so I was constantly having to do odd jobs or battle other trainers for cash if I wanted to continue that lifestyle. Which I was totally fine with doing! But it was just one of the pains of trying to become a professional Pokemon Trainer. Secondly was that I didn't have enough Pokemon to qualify for a lot of the major tournaments around, so getting my name out there was even harder for me even though I had eight badges in my final season. Thirdly, It's not that I lost motivation for being a Pokemon Trainer, but I wanted to become a Pokemon Doctor too. Plus, in Ninety percent of the battles me and Heidi got into, I never had to say anything. So it became a breeze outside of gym battles. And I get to learn so many new things about Pokemon Biology this way, it's incredible!"
"W-wow, there's a lot to unpack there! So you said you got all eight badges!? That's incredible! And what about your other Pokemon, like spike? I know Heidi knows how to fight on her own but what about your Pokemon like him?"
"Huh? Oh, I just caught spike about a month ago! Heidi is the only Pokemon that I've ever had until then."
"W-what!?" Luna almost choked on her spit, "So you're telling me you got all eight Gym badges with only having Heidi fight!? Don't the tougher gym leaders have Six Pokemon on their team!?"
"Y-Yeah, but Heidi's the only Pokemon I've ever needed in my life. She's my family and my best friend!" Gilly smiled and hugged the blushing Medicham.
"S-so You've only trained Heidi for ten years straight... It's no wonder that she's so strong!" Luna gulped.
"Yeah! She's always been a natural at battling too!"
"Wait, if you had all eight Gym Badges, then did you end up going against the Elite Four?"
"Yeah, but that First bitch screwed me over." Gilly pouted.
"W-Wha? First? Are you talking about Raya? The Psychic type user?"
"Ugh! Yeah..."
"What did she do?" Luna grew curious.
"Her stupid Beheeyem knows Destiny Bond!" Gilly crossed her arms.
"And you only had one Pokemon, which was Heidi...?"
"Obviously!" Gilly laughed.
Luna smiled, "Okay, that's kind of funny. You didn't honestly think you'd become Champion with one Pokemon did you?"
"Hey, if that cunt didn't have Destiny Bond, I might have been Champion right now!" Gilly playfully punched Luna's shoulder softly.
The two laughed together.
"That's crazy to think about, you realize that you are probably in the top five percent of strongest trainers in the region, right?" Luna told Gilly.
"If I was, it's all thanks to her!" Gilly raised Heidi's hand triumphantly who giggled in return.
"But, I'm not gonna be an Official Pokemon Trainer, for at least the next four years. I'm so ready to learn more about Pokemon and how to properly heal them."
Luna examined Heidi as they all walked together, she had never seen a Medicham up close before, so she thought maybe they all looked like Heidi. But as she stared at the Pokemon, she realized how muscular her abs and arms were. Her gray skin seemed to almost hide them but, in the light, her defining traits were visibly built.
The group continued to walk until the light of day was but a distant orange glow on the horizon.
"Think we should set up camp soon?" suggested Luna.
"Actually, if I'm remembering right, there is an old lodge another half hour up the road! There aren't many trainers that know about it since it's not on the GPS," replied Gilly.
"Do you know how much it costs to stay a night? I've only been staying at Pokemon Centers and camping to try and save money."
"Don't even worry about the price! I'll cover our room for the night! I owe you for buying lunch earlier and finding my wallet too!"
Luna smiled, "Thanks, Gilly! That means a lot!"
"Of course, I wanna make a good impression on my new girlfriend!"
A few minutes later the group came up to a large wooden lodge on the side of the route, even though the building itself looked dated, it carried a homey feel to it. Attached to the back of the building seemed to be a more modern building.
"Ooh, it looks cute!" Luna said excitedly.
"I know, right? You're gonna love it! Their indoor spa is to die for!"
"Their what!?" Luna gasped as she did little jumps of joy as they walked inside the lodge.
The inside of the lodge was decorated just as someone would expect a wooden lodge in the middle of the woods to be decorated. Assorted branches and antlers were set up on the walls, a fur rug adorned the floor and the woven couch was covered with a flannel-styled blanket.
At the front counter was an elderly woman in her eighties, "Hello, welcome in! I hope we can keep you warm on this cold night!"
"Hi, yes! Could I get a room for two please!" Gilly replied to the woman.
Luna looked around the room, a bit mesmerized by nostalgia, as she remembered the vacations that her father would take her up north to a lodge similar to this. She got a bit teary-eyed as she thought of the happy days she had with her dad before snapping back to reality.
"And here is your room key." The older woman handed a key card to Gilly.
"Thank you ma'am!" said Gilly before motioning for Luna to follow her.
The women got to their room and unpacked their things and took quick showers to prepare for the indoor spa. The room was similarly decorated as the entrance of the lodge. Luna got all giddy thinking about a hot and steamy bath to relax in. Especially since it had been a couple of years since she had been to one.
"Okay, ready to head over to the spa?" Gilly asked as she stepped out of the bathroom, with her hair still wet. Her usually puffy hair was long and straight.
"Yes!" replied Luna.
The two then grabbed a change of clothes as they hurried to the spa.
The two used their keycard to enter the indoor bathe and were met with a wall of steam as they opened the door. Gilly was immediately blinded as the steam hit her glasses, "Oops, always forget about that!" she giggled as she took her towel and wiped away the steam.
They entered the spa and were relieved to see that there was only one other woman relaxing in the bath with her Wooper.
Gilly began taking off her oversized hoodie with only her sports top covering her chest and lacing her clothes neatly into a cubby hole.
Luna blushed and took off her top as well, a bit embarrassed at first but was a bit more confident as she noticed she had quite the lead on chest size compared to Gilly.
Luna looked over to see Heidi removing her styled ribbon top and bandages that covered her chest. Heidi shyly covered her chest with her hands after she noticed Luna staring in her direction.
Luna quickly looked away, trying to act innocent as she curiously peeked back at the Pokemon.
It was then that Luna quickly realized that this wasn't an outdoor bath or a hot spring, realizing she couldn't cover herself with a towel like she usually would in the outdoor baths.
"H-hey, Gilly?" Luna spoke nervously as she stripped down to he underwear.
"Yeah? What's up?" asked Gilly as she stood butt naked in the open air.
"Nevermind! You answered my question!" Luna blushed hard after seeing her friend's nude body for the second time.
Gilly smirked, "Oh, is someone embarrassed!?" Gilly leaped behind Luna and hugged her tightly.
Luna's face burned red as she suddenly felt the heat of Gilly's nude body press against her backside. She could feel her nipples prod against her back as Gilly wrapped her arms around Luna's waist.
"AH!" Luna squirmed in her friend's bold hug.
"Hehe! Why are you the embarrassed one? You're stacked compared to little ol' me!" Gilly poked at Luna's breasts.
"I-It's my first time in a public bath like this! C-Cut me some slack!" Luna tried to keep calm while on the inside she was screaming. Her mind inherently focused on the shape of her friend's body as she was holding her.
Luna sighed in relief when Heidi finally pried Gilly off of her. She slowly took off her bra and panties until she was fully nude.
Gilly whistled and winked at Luna as she turned towards her and Heidi.
Luna was still red, "I'd say 'Bite me' but you'd probably enjoy that."
"Probably!" Gilly snorted as she and Heidi stepped into the hot bath.
Luna followed swiftly, to hide her exposed boy under the water's surface.
The heat of the spa enveloped her body, almost feeling too hot as she stepped down into the bath. Luna sat against the wall next to her friends. She let her tense muscles relax as she felt the heat melting away her built-up stress.
"Isn't this amazing?" Gilly spoke up as she had her head tilted back and sat against the wall alongside Luna.
"Yeah, it's been a while since I've been to one. And even though it's a bit embarrassing, it's sort of freeing to do this nude," replied Luna, her eyes closed as she breathed in the steam that was dancing on the surface of the water.
"Cham!" Heidi nodded in agreement as she sunk into the water until it hit her chin.
The women sat soaking for a while when some nearby noise made Luna jolt up slightly, but she calmed down when she saw it was the older woman and her Wooper leaving the bath.
Gilly peaked at Luna with one eye open after the woman had changed and left the spa entirely.
Abruptly Luna felt a powerful wave of hot water hit her face and she jumped from her relaxed position. She turned to see Gilly smirking a few feet away lurking in the water like a Totodile.
"Oh really?" Luna raised a brow.
"You were lucky that woman was in otherwise I would've been on the attack from the second we got in here!" Gily replied evilly as she splashed Luna once more.
Luna retaliated with a splash attack of equal force as the two were now in an all-out splash war.
Heidi sat peacefully, at first watching the two fight before growing tired and closing her eyes. She was then met with a sudden splash attack, wetting her entire head. She watched the two trainers laugh after their combined splash on her. Heidi smirked before using her titan-like strength, splashing the girls with what felt like an instant tsunami.
The two humans were under the water for a few seconds before plopping back to the surface. Luna began laughing hysterically as she continued the splash fight with the others. She could barely remember when she had fun with friends like this. Luna's close friends had all left to become trainers when she was younger and the few friends she had in Pokemon school never really knew her or hung out with her outside of classes. Ted was the first friend she met on her journey and he was nice, but she felt herself clicking as fast friends with Gilly. It was the first time in a long while that Luna thought she might be really good friends with someone, and it scared her because she had only met her today. She was scared that maybe her new friend might not like her and that if she brought up what she saw earlier today, that maybe she might lose her as a friend.
But those thoughts were fleeting as she continued to play in the water as she used to as a teen with her father. The nostalgia and serotonin flooding her brain of new kinship, kept her from lingering on those harsh thoughts for too long.
After taking a final hit from Luna, Gilly fell back into the water, "Alright, I give! You win!" she said exhausted.
"You have to be able to take what you dish out!" laughed Luna as she fell into the water alongside her.
They floated on their backs staring up at the ceiling, "Did you always want to be a trainer?" Gilly asked luna.
Luna thought about the question for a moment, "I mean, I think so? I love Pokemon, I want to know more and more about them. A part of me wants to be a researcher, so maybe if this whole being a trainer schtick doesn't work out, then I'll go for that. I know it might sound entitled or rude or cringe, but I just wanna have fun in my life. And I thought to myself, 'What's more fun than being a Pokemon Trainer'?"
"Not much! It is pretty amazing. And no, I don't think that it's weird to think that either. Being a Trainer is fun. Every day you get to be with your Pokemon and meet new people, tho' I'm not so great at the new people thing, haha!"
"I think you're great with people! I think you make a great friend, Gilly!"
The usually talkative trainer was silently blushing as she heard that compliment, "T-thanks, Luna. I think you're a good friend too!"
The two continued floating along for a bit before Luna spoke up, "What made you want to be a trainer? And being on the road for the past ten years is pretty crazy! Did you take any time off from it? Training, I mean?"
Gilly sighed softly, "I took half a year off when I was seventeen and almost a whole year off when I turned twenty. Besides that, I've always been on the road! As for what made me want to be a trainer, I kinda just went for it. I didn't necessarily want to be a Pokemon Trainer when I was young but I saw an excuse to get out of my boring town and I took it!"
"Oh, I know how that feels, I grew up in Acorn Wall and Arceus, was it boring!"
"Hey! I've been through there a couple of times, you guys have great cafes!"
Luna laughed, "That's about the only thing that's good about that town! I mean they are expanding a little bit and we finally have our own local professor, but it took years to finally get to that point! So what town did you grow up in?"
"Foglight Town. We got a cool lighthouse but, that's about it."
"Haven't heard of there before! You'll have to show me around one day!"
"Y-Yeah! No problem." Gilly smiled.
It was then that Heidi must have gotten too hot as she stepped out of the bath and sat on the edge, with only her feet dangling down into the pool.
"Hey," said Lilly as she examined the nude Medicham, realizing that Heidi's legs look much skinnier now. "Gilly, can Heidi take off her pants?" she asked confused.
"Oh!" the trainer giggled, "A lot of people don't realize this but Medicham's pants aren't their actual skin! Come on over, I'll show you."
Gilly swam up to Heidi who was sitting politely at the edge of the pool and Luna doggy paddled, closely behind.
"Excuse me, sis. I'm gonna borrow your leg!" Gilly told Heidi.
The Pokemon smiled, happily going along with her trainer.
Gilly then lifted Heidi's toned leg from the water. Its usual grey pigment had a slight shade of pink due to the heat of the water she was soaking in. "So this is actually what Medicham's legs look like!"
Luna's eyes sparkled with excitement as she got closer, she watched as Gilly gently held and lifted up her leg a bit higher so Luna could see clearly.
"So, wait, where did her pants go?" asked Luna.
"Over there!" Gilly pointed to a cubby hole towards the spa entrance, even with the fog it was easy to see Heidi's pink top and puffy pants sticking out of the cubby hole.
Luna was in shock, "Wait so you can just take them off the whole time!? I mean, I knew your top was just to look cute! But I so thought that your legs were those big pants!"
Gilly giggled, "Most people do! It's a common misconception that they are! Their 'pants' are actually used as armor to help absorb any damage done to their legs, which is important when it's also how they can move so gracefully and 'dance' during battles. The size of the pants also helps with avoiding attacks in a pinch since enemies would have a harder time actually telling the size of their real legs."
"That is so cool!" Luna put her palm on Heidi's firm and warm leg. She could tell right off the bat that her muscle tone was that of an Olympic athlete. Luna couldn't help herself but move her hand up Heidi's leg and gently pinch her still firm, but softer thigh.
Heidi flinched slightly and her face was burning red as she watched Luna pinch her, though it wasn't easy to tell if her face was red from embarrassment or the heat of the spa.
"And what about her hat?" asked Luna.
"Her headdress? Oh, that part is actually fused to her, similar to the 'dress' of a Gardevoir.
"Oh! That's so cool that you know about that sort of stuff."
"Well, learning about Pokemon Biology is part of the course if I wanna be a Doc!" Gilly smiled.
The two sat for a few more moments when Heidi stretched and walked over to her cubby and retrieved her clothes, she turned and waved to Gilly and Luna.
"You heading back to the room?" asked Gilly.
The Medicham nodded in return as she headed out of the spa.
"Okay! I'm gonna hang out in here for a lil' bit more. I'll see you when we get back."
Luna smiled, "Heidi is so independent! How did you train her like that?"
"Huh? W-well we were raised together, I don't think anyone 'trained' her at all. She learned everything as I did. I mean, sure my parents had a fair share in raising us but I don't think that she was brought up any differently than I was."
"Whoa, so when you say that she's like your sister. You really mean it?"
"Y-Yeah! But that wasn't obvious...?"
"Eheh..." Luna scratched the back of her head, "W-well I mean I would call Casper a cute nickname like he was my little brother, but I've only known him for little over a month and a half."
"Oh geez, Luna. No, I meant it literally. She's my adopted sister." Gilly explained.
"Whoa! S-So isn't it weird to have put her in Pokemon Battles then? Sorry if that came out as rude..."
"Nah, it's okay!" Gilly laid back against the cold stone wall of the bath, "I mean I would never make Heidi do something she doesn't want to! And of course, there have been cases where we didn't battle someone because she didn't want to at the time. But she also loves battling other strong Pokemon too. She's a masochist in that sense!"
"Haha, really? I never would have guessed that at first glance."
"Yep, that's the Fighting type side of her for sure. She's helped open my eyes to how some trainers treat their Pokemon."
"How so?" Luna asked curiously.
"Well, you'll see it happen or hear about it eventually. But there are so many cases of trainers trying to make it big for years only to quit and abandon the Pokemon they've had for so long simply because they only see them as tools they could use to fight with. A lot of gangs have that mindset nowadays and it is sickening to see."
"I had no clue it was that bad..."
"S-Sorry! I don't mean to bum you out! It's just that I see Heidi as family first and Pokemon second, so it's hard for me to see her fellow Pokemon be treated so badly, and there are almost no laws that protect them from being used and tossed away like that."
"It's okay, I can completely understand where you are coming from. I feel the same. I would never want to see a Pokemon hurt or just thrown out of its home because they were no longer useful. They are intelligent beings with emotions and personalities of their own, not some robots that we can just use for our own satisfaction."
Gilly's eyes widened, "Yes! That's exactly how I feel too!"
Luna was a bit surprised by an attack hug from Gilly. She felt her friend's warm nude body press against her tightly. She got nervous as she felt Gilly's nipples press against her own, sending shivers down her spine as she patted her friend's back softly.
Gilly let go of the hug but held Luna by her shoulders, barely giving Luna's chest room to breathe, "I'm so happy! I've met tons of trainers but they always thought I was weird... I have a few friendly acquaintances I've met. But then when I think I've met a nice trainer to be friends with, they end up being a dick to their Pokemon or just think of Pokemon like they are regular animals when they are such magnificent intelligent creatures!"
Luna was happy that Gilly liked her too, but she was quickly realizing how awkward Gilly can make someone feel and put the dots together as to why she didn't have many friends. She then realized, "Wait, I don't have many friends either! Do I make the people around me feel just as awkward as Gilly makes me feel!?" Luna was wrapped in her thoughts as she finally tuned back into what Gilly was saying.
Still holding Luna, Gilly continued, "... and that's when N came down on his Reshiram and liberated all of those Pokemon from Team Rocket! Don't you think that he's just so awesome!?"
"Y-Yeah!" Luna replied, unsure of what she just agreed with.
