Tony Stark's POV
"So, how do you want to feed, from here on in?" Klaus asked curiously as he held our babies in his arms. They were gurgling happily, as they played with his fingers. Hope was eating her breakfast with Lizzie. Beignets are full of sugar. Fuck, we'll have hyper-active toddlers later!
Stevie shrugged his shoulders "Blood bags" I flinched and hid my very real angst.
Steve smiled at Josie who was squirming in his arms as he tickled her with a fang peaked out "Daddy!" she laughed
"Yes, Sweetheart" he said innocently. She turned and gave him a big cuddle "Was scared you wouldn't wake up, daddy, you are okay, aren't you?" he smiled sweetly as she looked at him with big wide eyes "Oh honeybee, I'm fine, promise"
Care stroked his cheek and asked him "Are you sure you want to drink blood from bags every day, Stevie?" he nodded as he put his head on her shoulder "I'm sure" she kissed his lips gently and he looked at me. Oh gods, the face of the kicked puppy.
"No! No, and finally no, baby blue, you are not drinking from blood-bags every day, I told you, it makes me horny when you feed from me, if you have to live-feed from me every freaking day, then that's what we'll do. If I must take Vitamin B-12 and Iron every freaking day. I'll do it, you hear me" I whisper in his ear.
He grabbed my hand and pressed a kiss to my palm. "Are you sure, cutie?" I nodded then.
"Okay, but no more than a few mouthfuls a day, but I'll also drink from blood bags" I nodded then. "But I don't want to use the snatch, eat, erase thingy that Stefan was talking about" he supplied the information truthfully, and I could breathe easier.
"Have you fed today, Steve?" Klaus asked kindly. Stevie nodded, then blushed as I smiled "Excellent!" he grins "You can join us for Mardi Gras then the wish burning ceremony"
"What is that?" Stevie asked
Rebekah piped up "We burn wishes written on paper, our hopes for the future, our dreams, a true love that will last eternally, that kind of thing"
"That sounds nice, I hope you find true love, Rebekah, really I do" Stevie smiles kindly
"Someday, my prince will come" she sing-songs and Caroline flinches, covering her breasts.
"Baby girl what's up?" she looks down at her breasts "I need to change again" she kissed my cheek and I looked at her breasts. She was lactating. I grinned and purred "Need a hand, baby girl" She rolled her eyes and my palm got twitchy. Then she grinned "The Balcony, people make love here at the drop of a hat" she whispered. "Eight o'clock, after the love beads have been thrown to the crowd" I spun her in my arms "Is there dancing in the parade?" she nodded as I spun her again and we danced to the low piano tones that Elijah was playing in the library. "This is my first Mardi Gras, you know?"
"Is it, oh yes, the debt" Klaus smirked as he handed Bonnie and Antonio to Stevie, who was so enamoured with our babies that he just couldn't keep his eyes off them, or us.
"Rebekah" Klaus called out she smiled "Be a dear and help find a lovely gown for Caroline, please?" he fluttered his
"Come along, Caroline, I'm sure they can survive without you for a half-hour at least, let's get you into a dress" Rebekah whirled and pointed at me, then at Stevie who just looked innocently at her "No ripping the dress, this is a loan, only"
"Okay, scary lady" I grinned and planted a kiss on Caroline's lips.
"I am scary, glad you understand"
Caroline's POV
"Rebekah, are you sure about this" she rolled her eyes "You will have those lovely husbands of yours, eating out of your hands, question, when was Steve born?"
"1918, July 4th" I sighed
"Before Prohibition, the Spanish Flu was just spreading in the USA, I was a nurse at that time" I stared at Rebekah "You are lucky that Steven's mother protected him from the raging pandemic" I wiped away a tear "Don't cry, Caroline, he was meant to survive, to meet you, he was meant to be unfrozen in 2011 to be with you and Tony Stark. I believe in destiny, Caroline, I always have"
"Did the Spanish Flu just vanish?" I asked
"Of course, it was all over in two years and six months, fifty million people died globally"
"Turn a little, this is going to knock their socks off, Caroline, trust me"
"I do trust you, honestly"
I examined all the beading on the red glittery flapper dress, as Rebekah looked at me grinning. "There's something missing, ah, yes, here we are" she pinned my hair up with a brooch and gave me a necklace of pearls. "Wow" I gasped "Rebekah, you have good taste in fashion for the era" I examined my kitten heels and chuckled
"Thank you, Caroline, for what it's worth, I'm sorry for how I treated you when we came to Mystic Falls, I misjudged you severely because I was pissed off at Nik and our mother, and Elena for stealing my mother's necklace"
"And you don't blame Stefan?" She shook her head "He had his emotions off"
"I didn't know"
"Did you know that Vampires lose the ability to flip the switch after five-hundred years, it's now convenient to say they've flipped the switch, so they can get away with things like mass killings"
I shook my head "I didn't know that either"
"Right, and stop getting mushy on me, let's find your husbands, who I suspect that Elijah has stolen away Tony for a chess match" We looked at each other and burst into laughter.
Steve Stark-Rogers POV
"Tummy time" I whispered to Bonnie and Antonio, as they gurgled "Hey, I have a sensory blanket that Hope used when she was a baby, do you want to use it?" Hayley Marshall asked me "That's kind of you. They do this every day at the tower" Hayley smiled "I remember when Hope was a baby, she loved tummy time" Hayley spread out the blanket
"At what age was she crawling?" I asked out of curiosity
"According to Rebekah, six months old"
"She was with Rebekah, why wasn't she with you, and Klaus?" I asked as I placed Antonio on his tummy and then Hayley placed Bonnie on her tummy. They gurgled happily and lifted their heads giving me gummy smiles. And I placed a soothing hand on their back.
"I died" she said bluntly, and I looked at her in shock "You…you died?" she swiped a tear away "Only for a short time, I still have therapy sessions with Camille" Hayley reassured me
"What happened?"
"The coven wanted to sacrifice Hope because they believed she would cause storms, only it was a false prophecy, cover their little ears" she said then she whispered "It turned out it was really Esther wanting to stop Dahlia coming after Hope, evil. She possessed Sabine Dubois, who was Celeste Dubois, Elijah's vengeful ex"
"But then?" I was curious
"Hope is a tribrid, her blood turned me into a hybrid, so I came back to life, in transition. I had to drink two drops of my daughter's blood to survive. I hated it, every single second, but I still don't regret any of it, I love her so much"
"I don't blame you, she's a sweet little girl, I have no regrets going after the nazi vamps, to rescue Hope"
"Thank you though, never thought that I'd see her again"
My ears pricked up when I heard Tony-bear say emphatically "Checkmate!" and then a "Yes!"
Elijah was chuckling as he said to Tony "Well played, Stark"
"I'm Tony to you, we're friends, aren't we?"
"I would be honoured, Tony, to be considered your friend" they were shaking hands.
"Have you considered becoming a hybrid, like your husband and wife?"
"I've considered it, an eternity with them is not the issue. No way in hell is that the issue, I love them, in this life, the next life, and the life after that" The way he spoke stole the breath from my lungs and made my half-undead heartbeat again. Gods, I love this man so much.
"I know I'm 43 years old and any one of our missions could steal our lives away. Well, mine anyway" Tony sounded unhappy, and I nearly choked on my tears.
"Perhaps, SHIELD will give you more paternity leave while you make your choice"
"Yeah, maybe" I listened further.
"I could compel them for you?" Tony laughed "Yeah, no thanks, Elijah" he sounded happier.
Much later…
Steve Rogers POV
Bonnie and Antonio, having been fed by bottle and with fresh diapers on, Keelin and Freya had offered to baby sit so that we could have fun tonight. Rebekah was bathing the twins.
Oh my god! Our wife is hot, are those stockings?! Tony-bear is just looking at her, stunned, the same look we had when she turned up at the cancer charity ball. In 'the dress' that Klaus had gifted her.
This was a prohibition style glittering flapper dress, Holy fuck, my dick swelled uncomfortably in my pants as I growled. Tony-bear gripped my hand and smoothed my thumb with his, as our wife just stepped onto the floor and bit her lip shyly. A beautiful blush painting her face "What are you waiting for, the drip stains in your banana hammocks to become fully fledged cum stains?" Rebekah announced
And we couldn't stop looking "Hey baby girl" we both stuttered "Hi, do you like it?" She turned and the tassels moved as Tony gasped "Are you kidding me? Best outfit ever!" she walked towards us "I'm not wearing underwear" she whispers, "How about we go and throw those love beads to the crowds, then dance to the jazz music?" I had a dance in mind all right.
"Care, baby girl, you are so stunning" I gulped "Why thank you kindly, Captain" Tony-bear just nodded "Oh hell, turn off your lust switches, Nookie-goodness later, and tell me that Josie and Lizzie are being bathed with Hope, and Bonnie and Antonio are fed, and their diapers changed?" She raised a finely shaped eyebrow.
"They are fine, baby girl, all is well, I promise" Tony finally choked out "Keelin and Freya are determined to get some practice in before their little were-witch gets here
"Stevie, baby blue, are you okay" I nodded dazed "I'm fine, just looking forward to being on the balcony, with you and Tony"
"Okay, let's go and dance, shall we?" Tony smiled as he held out his elbow.
I ran my hand down to her backside "I so want to spank this luscious ass of yours" I growled
"Laters baby" she whispered with her finger under my chin "Thank you, for coming into my life" she looked at both of us with moist eyes "You filled my heart with love" I was choked up
"No, thank you, baby girl, you are amazing, strong, and beautiful, smart, resourceful"
"We love you so much" Tony said as he kissed her tenderly then me.
