Chapter 5: Star-Studded Invitations

One pleasant last Saturday of January 2023, I met up with my childhood friends Sarah, James, and Henri as well as some of my other best friends Alex Russo, Justin Evans, Max Greenwald, Carly Shay, and Spencer Puckett, as well as Carly's stepdad, Freddie Benson, at Pittsburgh's Perfect Parties client Abigail Carson's aparment in Point Breeze. "Hi, guys!" I greeted my friends. "Hi, Angel!" Sarah greeted back. We jammed out to Kate Bush, Lizzo, NSYNC, and 98 Degrees due to a day care session with Abigail's younger sister, Samantha in which there were fruit fizzle drinks, fruit and yogurt parfaits for breakfast, and stuffed animal races for a game. Abigail was making her invitations to her Star-Studded Sleepover out of poster board and gold ribbon woven through punched holes with a silver pen to write the information on. "How does it feel to be a middle school student, Abigail?" Sarah asked. "It's great," Abigail replied. "A little birdie told me that you used to throw great parties as teenagers." "Yes, we did," James replied. "For my sweet 16th birthday, I went with Sarah and Angel to look at cars and then we ate dinner at the now-extinct Pizza Hut in Cheswick." When Abigail was done making her invitations, she delivered them to her friends Nicole, Jessica, Victoria, and Emma. Then, we went straight to our activity for the day, which was trying on clothes in Point Breeze. "I cannot wait to see what winter clothes are in style this season," Henri stated. "Will black be a color to coordinate with white snow or blend into an all-black classroom like we did in school?" "We were dressed sort of similar to how we are today," James stated. "Well, my slacks and high heels are black, but my blouse is purple," Sarah pointed out. "Cargo pants is one of the cool new trends of winter," Carly pointed out. "I love wearing cargo pants," Spencer stated. "Our enemy, Nevel was a huge fan of cargo pants back in the day," Mr. Benson pointed out. "I am starting to like these filler activities and it is good that we will be doing them over the weekend," Alex happily stated. "Point Breeze and Regent Square are rather close to us, so it is rather convenient," Justin happily agreed. "No offense, but I thought that we would be doing more traditional camp activities, like what I started doing after my junior year of high school was over," Max stated. "There will be tilapia, green beans, couscous, and salad with dressing to eat when we get home," Alex stated. "It is important that we focus on eating healthy, low-calorie foods in order to be able to lose weight," Alex pointed out. "Certainly," Abigail agreed. Pretty soon, it was time for all of us to go home. "Thanks for a great day, everyone!" I thanked my friends. "You're welcome, Angel," Sarah replied. "Good night, guys!" "Good night!"
