Chapter 6: A Podcast and Other Fun
The next day, we went to Regent Square and sat along Frick Park to listen to a podcast by the Carson girls' parents, Maria and Jonathan. "Hi, guys!" I greeted my friends. "Hi, Angel!" Sarah greeted back. The podcast was all about how important it is to help each other and make a difference every day in the world. The fun didn't end there. While jamming out to NSYNC, Carly, Spencer, Freddie, and I played Stuffed Animal Races with Samantha. "I don't like when Nevel said that stuffed animals were for babies once," Carly stated. "Of course not," Spencer agreed. "I am an old man who still sleeps with my favorite teddy bear," Mr. Benson pointed out. "I also really love my stuffed polar bear that Mom got me for Christmas," I told my friends. Then, while jamming out to 98 Degrees, Alex, Justin, Max, and I made toothbrush holders and friendship rings with Hannah. "Ah, the experience of summer camp crafts!" Max happily exclaimed. "I was considering applying for CIT at the local YMCA after my junior year of high school ended." "Yes, summer camp was a great part of childhood with the friendship rings," Justin agreed. "Now, I have a new cup to place my toothbrush in after I brush my teeth when I wake up in the morning, before I go to sleep at night, and after I eat," Alex happily stated. "It is important for me to brush my teeth every day so I do not get cavities!" "Wow, Alex, you seem really smart," Hannah remarked. While listening to Kate Bush, Sarah, James, Henri, and I watched Abigail and her friends do upside-down theater. "This would have been a rather clever way to celebrate your 16th birthday in addition to looking at cars and going out for pizza," I told James. "I don't know about that, but Abigail and her friends make me laugh sometimes," James stated. "They make me laugh, too," Sarah agreed. "It just makes me miss being a teenager even more." Finally, while listening to Lizzo, we made a souvenir recording of Abigail and her friends describing their weekend in Frick Park. "I liked trying on all the clothes and the podcast was really good, too," Henri stated. "Maybe, I should try all black winter clothes just to blend into a classroom!" Then, everyone was treated to dinner and dessert at Park Pizza and Cream before it was time to go home. "Thanks for a great day, everyone!" I thanked my friends. "You're welcome, Angel," Sarah replied. "Good night, guys!" "Good night!"
