Luna panted as she made the final steps up the mountain path and was taken by surprise at the sudden sight of windmills and people dressed in simple leather and white cotton clothes going about their day. As she made her first steps into the town of Breeze Peak she watched as the plainly dressed locals mingled with the obvious tourists and visitors.
"Whoa! This is so cool! You guys have to see this!" the thrilled Luna shouted to Gilly who was struggling to climb the last set of steps up to the village. Heidi then lifted her trainer up and carried her up the rest of the way.
Gilly tried to catch her breath, looking worn out from the steep trek up the mountain, "Thanks, sis." She stood up, still looking bent out of shape but smiled at the beautiful green scenery of the town in front of them, "Yeah, it's just s pretty as I remember it!"
Luna then bent closer to Gilly, "H-hey, why are they wearing that style of clothes? They look like they're from the Eighteen hundreds. Is it a religious thing?"
"Huh? Oh, they like to live off of the land. So everything that the locals make is resourced straight from the mountain!" Gilly explained.
"Oh, that's so cool! Kinda explains why they are so isolated up here too I guess. But wait, doesn't that mean they don't have a Pokemon center up here?"
"Nope, they do not. They do however have a traditional Pokemon Doctor. Which is why I came all the way up this dumb mountain... Speaking of, I should probably check in with them as soon as I can. Are you going to be okay on your own if I head off with Heidi for a bit to find them?"
"Oh! Sure thing! I was planning on finding the Pokemon Gym and checking it out before I take on the Gym Leader, so I'll be okay." replied Luna
Gilly smiled, "Sounds good! Keep your phone on you! I'll hit you up after I talk to the Doc!"
"You got it!" Luna waved to her friends as they walked off into town.
"Alright," Luna said aloud, getting excited to see the new town for herself.
Luna was amazed by the beautiful architecture in the village, the Large green windmills seemed to be made out of cobbled stone resembling a mason mill in its shape. She noticed many small shops aligned along the street, the atmosphere felt charming and inviting as she saw the locals welcoming new visitors into their shops.
Luna wasn't quite paying attention to where she was walking when she noticed someone abruptly exiting a store she was passing by, but didn't have time to react before she collided with the person and fell to the floor.
"O-ow..." said Luna, rubbing her butt after landing on it with her full weight.
"We really have to stop meeting like this." a familiar voice to Luna rang out.
Luna looked up to see the Woman she bumped into yesterday standing above her. The same sharp eyes looked down at her. She couldn't help herself but take in the woman's features as she stared up at her like a lost puppy.
The woman looked a bit annoyed but guilty as she grabbed Luna by the arms and lifted her back to her feet.
Luna out a high pitched, "Yeep!" as she was lifted up so forcefully.
"Th-Thanks! A-And sorry I bumped into you yesterday, and today too... I'm kind of a klutz."
"I can see that, Red." The woman looked down at Luna, who grew increasingly flustered.
"R-Red? Oh, because of my red hair? Haha! Oh, yeah I love your hair too by the way. Black and Red looks so good and I love your piercings too!" Luna blurted out.
The woman raised a brow, "Thanks? Look, just watch where you're walking. Kay'?"
She then walked around Luna and headed down the street.
Luna quickly shouted, "Oh, I'm Luna by the way! It was nice running into you!"
The woman waved, not stopping to look back at her, "Nice seeing you, Red."
Luna felt embarrassed all over again as she felt like she made a fool out of herself in front of someone she thought was so cool.
She tried to brush off the awkward experience and headed off to window shop to try and clear her mind for a short while.
Luna eventually entered a local bookstore and began rummaging through their collections of romance novels, but it seemed to her that the newest novel they had was from a couple of years ago.
She sighed as she looked through the shelves, "Is there anything new you might have?" Luna turned and asked out loud but the owner of the store was snoring behind the front desk of the store.
"O- Oh..." She turned back to the shelves and continued to rummage, looking to see if a title would catch her eye.
"Yeah, it took me a while to get used to not reading the newest titles, but some of the older books are really charming." a tan woman in her early thirties spoke up as she walked beside Luna.
"Yeah, I've already read all of the more popular ones." Luna chuckled then noticed her plain cotton and leather clothing, "So you're a local?"
"Hmm? Oh, yeah! I moved here about six years ago. Breeze Peak is seriously just so beautiful, I couldn't help but fall in love with this town and the people in it. I'm Laudrie, a pleasure to meet you miss...?"
"Luna! I'm Luna!" She reached out and shook Laudries hand.
"So, miss Luna, I'm gonna take a gander that you're a Pokemon Trainer judging by the Pokeballs on your belt?"
"You'd be right! I'm in town to take on the Gym Leader!" she replied gleefully.
Laudrie smiled, "Well that's great to hear! A lot of trainers end up going to other gyms outside of Breeze Peak because of the journey up the mountain path. So, I think it's great that you made it all the way up here to have a battle with her."
"Thanks! But, I think that any trainer that truly cares about their experience as a trainer shouldn't be taking the easy way out. And the town is beautiful, I'd never forgive myself if I didn't even try to make it here!"
This made the woman smile brightly, "I'm glad you think so! I can tell that you're a very bright trainer!"
Luna blushed, "Aw, thanks! Hehe!"
"My Wife, Blake, she's both the Mayor and the Gym Leader of Breeze Peak. I'm sure she'd love to meet you!"
"W-Whoa! Your wife is Gym Leader Blake? That's amazing! I would love to meet her!" Luna's eyes sparkled.
Laudrie chuckled, "Great, it's settled then. We'll have you over for dinner then?"
"H-Huh? Oh, I don't want to impose or anything!" Luna felt nervous over the sudden personal invite.
"Nonsense! We'd love to have you over for dinner, company is always welcome in our home!"
"It's just that I don't wanna seem rude and make a bad first impression by barging into your home... P-Plus I have a friend in town as well and I don't want to ditch her as well."
"Your friend is more than welcome to join us! And please, do not worry! Blake loves the company just as much as I do, and she gets so excited meeting new trainers. I just know that she'll love to have you over for dinner!"
Luna scratched the back of her head, "S-Seriously? You guys are way too nice! I mean, if we really aren't imposing, then sure!" Luna nervously accepted the sudden offer.
"Great!" Laudrie clapped her hands, her curly light brown hair bobbing as she gave a tiny hop, "I'll call ahead and let her know! I'll go shopping right now, is there anything specific that you would like to eat?"
"N-No ma'am! I'm not picky!" Luna already felt bad that she was making this poor woman cook for her, there was no way she was going to make her cook something specific.
"Ah, okay then! Oh, I know! I'll make Blakey's favorite!" Laudrie put down the novel she was looking at and went to head out the door and suddenly turned around, "If you aren't busy, would you mind going shopping with me? It's a bit much to carry too many groceries on my own."
Luna was still confused at what was happening so suddenly but felt guilty saying no to the kind woman, "I'm not busy at all!"
"Great!" Laudrie grabbed Luna by the arm and led her out of the bookstore in a hurry.
For the next two hours, Luna helped Laudrie gather groceries around town before being led to her and blake's home in the center of town.
As they approached the front of their home, Luna noticed that their home was only slightly larger than the neighboring homes.
"If I was just passing by there's no way that I would've thought that this is the Mayors home." Luna thought to herself as she walked into the small garden in front of their home.
There were many assorted plants some pretty, but most of them looked to be normal-looking plants with varying leaves.
"Do you like the garden!?" asked Laudrie seeming quite proud of it.
"I do! It's beautiful." Luna told the woman, which wasn't untrue to her but it felt a bit off looking at it from a beauty standpoint.
Laudrie then unlocked the door and led Luna inside. The home was made out of dark wood and most of the interior floor was made out of the same dark wood paneling but stained and shining. Laudrie took Luna to the kitchen which had black and white checkered tiles on the floor.
"You're home is gorgeous. I can see why you'd wanna move here!" said Luna.
"Haha, thank you! I'm sorry if it's messy, I try to keep it clean, but work always seems to get in the way!"
Luna then curiously scanned the room but didn't even see a spec of dust, "It's not dirty at all!"
She then helped Laudrie take all of the groceries out of the bag.
"So, is your friend on the way?" asked Laudrie as she took out some big pots and pans and put them on the gas stove.
"Yes, ma'am. She said she was on the way and wanted to say thank you for inviting her." Luna sat at the island counter in the middle of the kitchen, waiting to see if Laudrie needed any help.
"Great! Blake should be on her way as well! I do hope you'll enjoy dinner, it's been a while since we have had company over and I've been dying to cook for the past week!"
"I'm sure I will! Thank you," replied Luna.
A sudden knock at the door caused Laudrie to stand straight and hurry over to open it.
As she opened the door, Luna saw Heidi with Gilly as she spoke to a tall pale woman with long black hair in a ponytail that trailed down to her butt.
"Blakey!" Laudrie squeaked as she leaped into the woman's arms and kissed her passionately.
"Hey sweetie," said the pale woman as she parted from the kiss with a smile, she then turned to wave at Luna sitting inside, "Hi, you must be Luna! It's nice to meet you! Laudrie was telling me that you're a trainer, and it looks like we have a friend in common here." Blake placed her hand atop Gilly's head showing off her height advantage.
"It's nice to meet you as well, Miss Blake! Your town is absolutely wonderful!" Luna smiled back.
Gilly pouted as removed Blake's hand from her head, "It's nice meeting you Laudrie, I don't think we had the pleasure of meeting."
Laudrie happily shook Gilly's hand, "No, we haven't! The pleasure is all mine!" Laudrie led the two inside to the kitchen where all four of them sat at the kitchen island in the middle of the room.
"So," started Luna, "How do you and Blake know each other, Gilly?"
"Oh, I just kicked her butt the last time I passed through." She smirked, knowing that her answer would eat at the Gym Leader sitting across the table.
Luna gave an awkward smile as she saw Blake's eye twitch.
"Well," Blake coughed, "I hardly believe that it was your skill as a trainer that won you that battle. That Medicham is a genius battler." Blake glared at Gilly.
"Oh," Gilly quickly retorted, "if you're questioning my skill as a trainer, I could always make Heidi wear a blindfold for our rematch. We can see how our skills match up then?"
"The blindfold won't be necessary, maybe we should just give her an advantage and give her some earmuffs so she doesn't have to hear your coaching being barked into her ears?"
"Now, now..." the cheerful Laudrie spoke up as she poured tea for the group, "We shouldn't fight with our guests Blakey!"
"S-Sorry." Blake looked away from her wife a bit embarrassed.
Laudrie continued, "And it's not very nice of you to make fun of people, Miss Gilly. Especially not one of the hostesses having you over for dinner!"
Gilly looked down, with her face red with guilt, "S-Sorry Ma'am."
Laudrie smiled, assuring that she had calmed down any hostilities for the moment, "Luna, won't you tell Blake what brought you up here to Breeze Peak?"
Luna nodded, "Yes Ma'am!" She then turned to face Blake, "Miss Blake, I'd like to have a Pokemon Battle with you tomorrow! I'm looking to try and get my third Gym Badge and I've read that you are a respected Gym Leader amongst your peers!"
Blake smirked and put her chin up, "It would be an honor to have a Pokemon Battle with you, Luna."
Luna suddenly felt worried as she watched the Gym Leader's competitive spirit rise in front of her.
"If you tell me your Pokemon are now. I'll tell you mine. It'll give us both ample time to adjust strategies against one another, you in?" Blake offered Luna.
"She has a Hoppip, a Gloom, and a Capsakid," Gilly said aloud right before nonchalantly taking a sip of her tea.
Blake was stunned by the short nerd at her table, unable to speak as her eye twitched once again. "Seriously!?"
Luna looked sorry for the Gym Leader, "Th-That's okay, Blake. I have a Togetic, a Salandit, and a Ledian."
"Hey, you didn't have to tell her that," Gilly said to Luna.
Luna rolled her eyes, "Then you shouldn't have told me her Pokemon, dummy!"
Blake still looked a bit angry at Gilly but smiled when she leaned over and pat Luna on her back, "Thanks, kid! You're one of the good ones!"
Luna herself twitched at hearing herself called a child, "Eheh... It's all good! And I'm Eighteen by the way."
"I'm thirty-two," replied Blake, "trust me, you'll still be making childish mistakes until your twenty-three at the earliest."
Luna smiled and nodded while on the inside she was a bit upset that she didn't get the message across clearly.
"Blakey, you still make childish decisions..." Remarked Laudrie as she began to wash some vegetables.
"B-Babe!" Blake's cheeks turned pink as she said that aloud.
Both Luna and Gilly chuckled at the embarrassed Gym Leader.
Luna, not wanting to be unhelpful, hurried over to help Laudrie prepare dinner while Blake and Gilly caught up with one another at the dinner table.
A few hours later and a well-cooked meal devoured, the four women sat at the table talking about life in general.
"We aren't Amish, Luna! We still have technology! It's just that we like to live off of the land, but it's not like we force any of the villagers to keep up with traditions." Blake said to Luna.
"Oh! So you're allowed to still have TVs and Cellphones then?" asked Luna.
Laudrie laughed out loud, "Luna, if I wasn't allowed to watch Poketube, Blake's the one who would've been forced to make that the law."
Blake laughed, "Yeah, it's more than allowed. I mean, I know some villagers are serious about only living off of the land. But I believe we can compromise with some soap-opera's, right?"
"I think it's a decent compromise! And I do love your clothes! But, I think I like jean shorts a bit too much to only wear cotton..." said Luna.
"As long as we can make sweaters, I'd move up here once I totally retire. Who knows, maybe I'll take over as Gym Leader, Miss Mayor."
Blake Laughed, "And as Mayor, I forbid you from ever moving into Breeze Peak!"
The four women chuckled among themselves when Laudrie spoke up, "I actually wanted to ask, Gilly, what are you doing up here in Breeze Peak? I don't mean to pry, but not too many Pokemon Trainers make the hike up the mountain unless it's to take on the Gym Leader. Are you going for another round this year?"
Blake suddenly realized this fact too and nervously sipped her drink remembering the last battle between the two and how embarrassing her loss was against the short nerdy woman.
"Y-Yeah, about that," Gilly scratched her arm, "I kinda quit being a full-time Pokemon trainer."
"W-What!?" Blake spits up her drink as she shot up from her chair, "Why'd you do that!? I thought you were gonna make it to the champ!"
Gilly blushed, not expecting that kind of reaction from Blake, "W-Well, what you said earlier was half-true. Heidi really does fight on her own for most battles..."
"That was a joke, Gilly! You're a good trainer. You shouldn't give up on your dreams!" Blake tried to encourage her friend.
Gilly waved her hands in front of her face, "D-Don't get me wrong! I haven't given up on my dreams at all! It's just that I realized, being a Pokemon Trainer isn't what I want to be! So you see, my dream sort of shifted and I want to become a Pokemon Doctor now."
"Whoa, seriously? That's a sudden career change, especially since your career as a Pokemon Trainer was starting to gain traction! I even heard you reached the Elite Four!"
Gilly shyly accepted the praise, "Y-Yeah, we were doing pretty great there, huh?" She rocked in her chair a bit, "But, it's not as fun to me as learning all about Pokemon Biology and being able to help those in need!"
Laudrie gave a big smile, "I know exactly how you feel!"
Gilly nodded, "A-And, I was putting a lot of pressure on Heidie as my sole Pokemon. And I was so nervous about getting another Pokemon, which I ended up finding a new friend in Spike anyhow, but I don't know. I just love helping others, and wanting to be a Pokemon Doctor lit a fire in me and has me a thousand times more excited for my career than I ever was as a Pokemon Trainer."
Blake sat back, "Wow, Gilly. I didn't know you felt that way... Well, I'm happy that you are happy then! I wish you the best in your new line of work." Blake then smirked, "It sure is too bad that we won't be able to get that rematch though!"
Gilly raised a brow as if accepting her challenge, "I never said I stopped doing Pokemon Battles! We can get that rematch going any time you want!"
Blake twitched, "That's fine with me, Nerd. Any time. Any place."
Laudrie cleared her throat and stepped in, "Well! Anyways, Gilly what were you in town for? You must be here to train with the Town Doctor if you came all the way up to town."
Gilly nodded, "I am actually! But I went to their office today, and they said that they'd already taken off for the day, so I'm headed back there tomorrow to meet up with them."
Laudrie smiled, "Well, that won't be necessary for you to meet them! I'm sitting right here."
Gilly and Luna both looked surprised.
"A Gym Leader-Mayor and the Town Doctor? Talk about a power couple!" Luna thought to herself.
"No shit!?" Gilly Blurted out before covering her mouth after forgetting her manners, "S-Sorry!"
Laudrie and Blake giggled.
"It's fine!" said Blake, "And yeah, No shit."
Laudrie nodded, "I've been 'Doc' around here for the past three years after our previous doctor retired!"
"That's pretty incredible!" added Luna.
"Thank you!" Laudrie appreciated.
"This is so cool! I had no clue you were !" said Gilly.
"I am, indeed. I heard that a student would be making their way to gain some experience, but I never thought she'd end up eating at my table with me today!" Laudrie giggled.
Luna spoke excitedly, "This is awesome! So the both of you are gonna help both of us?"
"If by 'help' you mean to kick your ass in a Pokemon battle? Then sure, I'll help!" Blake playfully winked.
"And Gilly, you will be well taken care of under my wing for these next few days or weeks," added Laudrie.
"W-Weeks?" Gilly choked on her tea.
"Hm?" replied Laudrie, "Oh! That only depends on your progress as a Doctor. First I will have to see how much you already know, and depending on that. I will start your training regime based on your current experience."
"B-But don't you know my experience? I had my papers and info sent here ahead of time?"
"Sure, I do! But I like to conduct my own tests to ensure that there was no false information reported to me. It helps to sort out any amateurs and prepares them for the future!"
Gilly was a bit worried now, "Is the test optional for friends?"
"Oh, Gilly!" the doctor burst out laughing, "You're a riot! But, no. Everyone that undergoes my training is treated equally to ensure that you become the best Pokemon Doctor that you can be!"
Luna hurt to hold back her laughter, knowing that her friend was in for some good old-fashioned hard work.
Gilly continued to try and get out of any unnecessary tests to no avail.
Luna soon noticed that the sun had already gone down with one look out the window and was surprised that the day had gone by so quickly.
Luna stood and stretched with a loud yawn, "Sorry, it was a long day! I want to thank you both so much for having us both over. It was a pleasure meeting you both and I can't wait for tomorrow."
"O-Oh!" Laudrie stood up, "You're leaving?"
"Yeah, it was getting kind of late and I'm still a little sore from the hike up. Do you recommend any specific Inn or Hotel in town?" asked Luna.
Gilly stood up with her friend, "Yeah, same here. I'm getting a little sleepy too."
Laudrie puffed up her lower lip and looked to Blake who took one look at her wife and rolled her eyes before nodding.
"You both can sleep here tonight!" Laudrie quickly stood and hugged the two.
"H-Huh?" Luna questioned, "Are you sure?"
"More than sure!" replied Laudrie.
"I don't know." Luna replied Guilty, "I've already taken advantage and had you cook dinner and-"
"Don't you be silly!" argued Laudrie, "I invited you over for dinner and now you are my guest who is tired from their trek up our little mountain! You don't worry about a thing! We have a pullout couch that you two can share if that's alright?"
"A-Are you sure!? I don't wanna intrude and-" Luna had never felt so bad for being treated so right in her life when Gilly tugged at her arm.
Gilly then whispered, "It's free! Don't ruin this for us!"
"Of course, we're sure! Aren't we Blakey?" Laudrie asked her wife.
"Yep." smiled Blake.
Luna let out a loud sigh, "Thank you, for your hospitality..." She smiled and hugged Laudrie back tightly who responded with an even tighter hug, showing off some surprising strength for such a slim woman.
"Yay! Yay! Yay!" Laudrie hopped, "I'll go get the bed ready!"
Luna smiled and scratched the back of her head. She'd never met such friendly people in her life and was completely unsure of how to handle their abruptly honest hospitality.
After a few minutes passed Laudrie pulled out the pullout bed from the couch and had fitted it with sheets, a comforter, and a pillow.
Gilly immediately leaped onto the bed as soon as it was made without a care in the world as she snuggled up next to the closest pillow on her side of the bed.
Luna walked up to Laudrie, "Thank you so much! Yours and Blake's generosity is so amazing to me. I only hope that you don't think badly of either of us for taking advantage of your kindness."
Laudrie softly wrapped her arms around Luna as she blushed, "Stop that, Luna! We are friends now! And there is absolutely no way that I will allow my new friend to spend money on a place to rest when I have a bed to spare! You are just so sweet!"
Luna gently pats Laudrie's back; she felt thankful for the kindness she'd received so far, but still felt as if she was being treated like a child. Though she knew that it was probably more or less Laudrie's motherly personality that made it seem that way.
Laudrie let out a yawn of her own as she stepped back, "I think I'll hit the hay as well. If you get thirsty or hungry in the middle of the night, feel free to rummage through the fridge!" She then turned to Blake, "Sweetie, I'm heading up to bed, m'kay?"
Blake was just finishing up cleaning, "Sounds good, Hun, I'll be right behind you."
Laudrie waved goodnight to the two women on the pullout bed before walking up the stairs to the second floor of the house.
Luna waved back as Laudrie left and leaned back in the bed. It was pretty comfortable considering that it didn't have the thickest mattress, thought Luna. She looked to her left to see Gilly already passed out in a tank top and boxers. Luna rolled her eyes as she pulled the comforter over Gilly's and her bodies. She got comfortable underneath the sheets and watched as Blake walked upstairs to join her wife, turning off the lights as she left the bottom floor. Luna breathed slowly as she shut her eyes and slowly drifted off to sleep.
The sound of slight creaking woke Luna up from her slumber, it was still dark in the room as she sat up. It took her a moment to even realize where she was in her state of half-awakeness. She looked around the room to find the source of the sound and saw that Gilly was still fast asleep in the bed beside her.
Luna's eyes darted around the living room as she heard the creaking once more, but there was nobody in sight. After a few more rhythmic creaking emitted around her, Luna finally noticed it was coming from the ceiling above her.
Confused, Luna stared up at the ceiling as if she might be able to see the cause of the noise if she focused on it. Soft feminine voices were barely audible that seemed to join the loud creaking noise.
Luna felt dumb for not putting two and two together any faster than she did and hid her face under the covers after realizing that the loving couple that took her and Gilly in were going at it right above her.
"Just like that... Oh, yes..." a voice poked out alongside the wooden creaking.
Luna quickly recognized that to be Blake's voice echoing through the thin ceiling above her. Luna's face burned red as she continued listening in and thinking, "Maybe it's a misunderstanding? I don't think that they would be seriously having sex right now."
Another voice softly echoed out, "You like it when I lick you there, Blakey? I know you do~"
Luna covered her face and ears with her extra pillow as if to erase the memory of hearing Laudrie speak so sexually. However, even through the pillow covering her, Luna could still pick up the muffled sounds of what was occurring above her.
