Jasmine's P.O.V.
"You two need time away from here for a while," aunt Ryley argues.
"Not now, we're busy."
"You are not even—."
"We're working on that, Ryley," Ratchet interrupts.
Ryley smiles, and without questioning who'll be watching Audrey, walks away. I'm not sure if she knows Sunstreaker has been watching Audrey along with Sideswipe. I know Sunstreaker hasn't been doing much working out.
"You ready?" I hear Sunstreaker.
Oh well, I guess he's getting a little working out in while with me, but not even close to his typical workout.
"You said nothing about working out, so no."
"Fine, meet me in the training room at nine every morning."
Ratchet is fine with this, and I'll start my medical review at ten. We'll be done by noon. I can study from my books while watching Audrey. Sideswipe doesn't have a class this morning and gladly takes Audrey.
"You're late!" Sunstreaker scolds.
"You mean early," I challenge, "it's eight fifty-five."
Sunstreaker smiles, "just for that, I'm making you do push-ups."
Sunstreaker has me doing stretches and other exercises including push-ups. He's still limiting me. Hopefully not for long.
"Oh, don't worry, I'll be making you sweat soon," Sunstreaker smiles when we're done.
Sunstreaker says he'll workout while I'm with Ratchet.
Ratchet's P.O.V.
I know the medical review might last five minutes today. I might find out the hard way that Jasmine has a fear of needles, or everything works out well. I wait for my femmes by the cafeteria.
As usual, Audrey is asleep in her stroller.
Jasmine spent the last two hours after her workout studying. I hope it wasn't for nothing. I'm not sure if thinking about needles is enough to trigger fear, considering what she went through.
It's hard to think Jasmine is getting her life back. Maybe it's more what else does Yazmine have planned?
"Ratchet?" Sunstreaker asks. The others went into the cafeteria, "you don't think she's ready?"
"I'm afraid we'll find out a hidden fear. Needle seems like nothing, but with what I can guess Jadin and Yazmine did and Jasmine will be working in a medical setting..."
"If she has a fear, you'll help her deal with it. I don't think it'll be long before she's working with you and Jolt. She'll have the life she wanted, and I deal with that scumbag!"
I think Sunstreaker is waiting until he doesn't have to protect Audrey and Jasmine. Though he'll have to until Yazmine is dead. He has me wondering if he'll protect the femmes forever?
Audrey is out, not waking up as I lift her from the stroller. Roy sits with us, but next to Sunstreaker. He's across from Jasmine.
He tries to start a conversation with Jasmine about her medical training. Jasmine says nothing, but she's not afraid. This is good, we can keep working on getting her to trust Roy. Hopefully this will show Jasmine she can trust humans outside of her family.
Jasmine is calm as Roy holds Audrey. Sunstreaker takes a picture, which is unusual for him.
"I'll see you later," Roy says as he puts Audrey back in her stroller and walks away. Jasmine is still calm rather than thinking Roy is planning to kidnap Audrey. The terror twins take Audrey back to their room while Jasmine and I go to the medbay.
I have Jasmine start from the beginning of what's taught in med school. This will be quick regardless if she's afraid of needles or not. Roy came up with the idea to be used as the practice patient. There are things that we'll have to use the practice dummy for, but this will help Jasmine.
Jasmine's P.O.V.
"You're safe, he's helping you," Ratchet assures me as I see Roy sitting on the exam table ready for a physical. Ratchet will watch me do the physical, except for the part that he'd do. Ratchet wants me to fill out the paper, though this won't go in Roy's file. Roy had already had a physical before boot camp.
I didn't think Ratchet would have me draw blood. I suspect it's his test to see if I'm afraid of needles.
"You'll be fine," Roy smiles as he extends his arm.
I don't feel afraid as I prepare to draw blood.
Ratchet wants to vials. Once the vials are filled, I take them to the lab as I would if this was not a review. Ratchet comes with me to let Roy get dressed.
"That was good," Ratchet praises, "you ok?"
I nod while labeling the vials and putting them in the vial stand. He takes the paper and Roy's file. Leaving me to say goodbye to my patient.
"You did good. I hope you'll be back to work soon," Roy smiles, and leaves the room and medbay.
As Roy leaves, a soldier walks in.
"What did you do, Joe?" Jolt asks, seeing what Joe is using to cover a wound is already red from blood.
"I don't know. I was fixing a jeep, and felt pain."
I tell the two medics I want to help. I'm not sure if I'll be able to if Joe needs surgery. Even before seeing the injury, I question Joe's story, but we're not to do that while treating patients.
My evaluation concludes that Joe only needs stitches. Ratchet also has me do this. I know Ratchet wouldn't ask soldiers to hurt themselves on purpose for my review. Even after looking at the injury, I don't believe this was an accident.
"Something isn't right about Joe's story," Jolt comments, "no way to get injured the way he did while repairing a vehicle."
I'm not worried there's another insider. What comes to mind is Sunstreaker. Unless Joe was lying about what he was doing, but why would anyone do that?
"I don't think this is the beginning of something serious," Ratchet argues, "other than Joe is lying about what he was doing. Jasmine got more medical review today."
We decide this doesn't have to be reported to Optimus or Prowl. Unless we see a pattern of suspicious injuries. For now, we go to the cafeteria. Jolt and Ratchet are happy I'm not worried this could be part of Yazmine's next move. I doubt she'd try anything so soon after the failed attack. I don't even feel bad she might have been killed by Megatron for a failed plan. She's not my sister. Only Audrey is my sister.
