Chapter 8: Hairstyles in Mount Lebanon Township
The next day, we took a trip to Mount Lebanon Township to try new hairstyles. "Hi, guys!" I greeted my friends. "Hi, Angel!" Sarah greeted back. "I am excited to try new hairstyles in Mount Lebanon Township today," Carly stated. "I am even wearing the popsicle stick bracelet that I made during my 8th grade year of middle school." "That's awesome, Carly," Spencer stated. "It would be even more fun if we listened to NSYNC like we always do," Mr. Benson agreed. "Today's weather is fantastic," Alex stated. "It may not be the same activities that we did my junior year of high school, but it is still a good hair day for me!" "It would be even cooler if there were workout videos to all of our favorite songs from 98 Degrees," Justin stated. "I hope that there are also games," Max stated. "Darn, I wish it were May already," Alex stated. "The more I have fun these next few months, the sooner my 30th birthday will come!" There were, indeed, games like Charades, Sardines, Flashlight Tag, Truth or Sing, Saran Wrap Prize Ball, and Nail Polish Spin the Bottle. Then, there was dinner provided for everyone, including tacos, pasta, ice cream sundaes, trifles, and soft pretzels. On the way home, we listened to Kate Bush and Lizzo. "Did you guys have fun today?" I asked my friends. "Oh, it was fun, all right!" James agreed. "Yes, most definitely," Henri agreed. "Were there any games that you would have liked to play that we never got to play today?" I asked. "Scrabble because I first learned about that game the night that James went to the high school dance," Sarah replied. "Do you have a favorite game from today?" I asked. "I liked playing Sardines because I was good at hiding behind a tree and then Alex was the last one to find me," Sarah replied. "At least she found you fair and square," I replied. "I could only imagine Nathan pretending to find you when he really didn't. I know that he lies just to get his own way, like blaming you for cheating on a history test. That is one of the worst things that could happen is to do something wrong and then blame someone else for doing it!" "Oh, well," Sarah stated. "One week after I get a haircut, we try new hairstyles," I pointed out. "This is a promise that I will make a habit of brushing my hair every day because it was so tangled before." "Yes, you need to brush and take care of your hair every day," Sarah told me. "It's too bad that I can't wear it in braids as much as I used to," I stated. "Maybe when your hair grows longer and you take better care of it, I can consider braiding it," Sarah told me. Pretty soon, it was time for all of us to go to bed. "Thanks for a great day, everyone!" I thanked my friends. "You're welcome, Angel," Sarah replied. "Good night, guys!" "Good night!"
