Chapter 10: Building Friendships

The next day, we all met up at the Carnegie Library in Oakland to talk about building friendships. "Hi, guys!" I greeted my friends. "Hi, Angel!" Sarah greeted back. Prior to the discussion group, we listened to NSYNC and 98 Degrees while playing Out in a Wink and then sharing leftover breakfast and fortune napkins with each other. "I made friends with Angel in Natrona Heights and our bond grew closer at my mom and stepfather's wedding," Carly stated. "We met a few days prior to then," Spencer added. "Your mother and I loved each other very much," Mr. Benson stated. "I think the best qualities in a friend include if they are smart, helpful, friendly, and beautiful," I told everyone. "I am all of those things to you, Angel," Alex told me. "I feel good about studying for my SATs." "I loved the fortune about Abigail doing better on her next test," Justin stated. "It was heart-pounding to study for our SAT tests." "Yes, definitely!" Max agreed. "I think one way to make friends could be at a party or on Halloween," James stated. "I remember how I wasn't invited to Molly's Sweet 16 birthday party, but Angel and I snuck in, anyway, so that we could meet new people," James stated. "I met a lot of youngsters going trick-or-treating on Halloween," Henri added. "You can meet and make friends with people just about everywhere or just about anytime," I concluded. Then, we listened to Kate Bush and Lizzo while handing out autographed pillowcases and then giving out Sleepover Awards. Then, it was time for all of us to go home for the evening. "Thanks for a great day, everyone!" I thanked my friends. "You're welcome, Angel," Sarah replied. "Good night, guys!" "Good night!"
