Chapter 18: Autistic Media and Paper Airplanes
The next day, we all went to Uptown to work on paper airplanes and fly them, as well as give our opinions about autistic characters in the media. "Hi, guys!" I greeted my friends. "Hi, Angel!" Sarah greeted back. We jammed out to NSYNC, 98 Degrees, Kate Bush, and Lizzo as we played additional games. Carly, Spencer, and Freddie described about how important autistic characters act with good manners when they meet other people, as Carly did back at the dollar store in Natrona Heights. Alex, Justin, and Max reflected on their creative writing story from the previous day and revealed that they watched the Aladdin franchise prior to bowling at Zone 28 their senior year. While I was off topic, I praised everyone on how well their creative writing papers went. Sarah, James, and Henri discussed how proud they were that Hannah was willing to try these new activities as Sarah recalled baby-sitting me and Henri for the first time and then James recounted his family-friendly house party that he threw when he came back home from his summer ski trip. I also made a deal with Alex that I would order her birthday journal for her once the fall and winter activities were completely over. We had breakfast for dinner and ice cream punch for dessert. After our day of fun was over, it was time for all of us to go home. "Thanks for a great day, everyone!" I thanked my friends. "You're welcome, Angel," Sarah replied. "Good night, guys!" "Good night!"
