So, here you have the new chapter, hope you like it!
Ben had sent an emissary with all the letters for the Villain Kids that were invited to Auradon, he had also considered sending a personal letter to each of them but decided against it when he realized that her wouldn't know what to say to them that wasn't on the official one.
The emissary was the same that he had sent to invite Dizzy as he kind of knew how dangerous the Isle could be for Auradonians and knew better than anyone how to avoid catching unwanted attention.
*****At the Tremaine Chateau*****
All members of the Tremaine family were in their dilapidated chateau, the house had seen better days but they tried to keep it on good conditions, well as much they could in the Isle of the Lost and as much they could afford without going hungry. Unlike other families they tried their best to avoid stealing, though the older children had been forced to do so when food was scarce, and they also lived on the nice-ish side of the Isle along with other families like the Westergaard and the Frollo.
The chateau was behind the hairdressing salon that hey owned and they all lived together evn though they didn't like each other and more often than note antagonized each other. Still, they all respected the matriarch of the family even if they didn't like her and some feared her.
"Two of my grandchildren were invited by those…" Lady Tremaine muttered harshly while drinking tea, she was the only one who drank tea in the family since it was too expensive.
Drizella just looked disapprovingly at her youngest daughter, her other daughters Diane,Dina,Drisha,Dilla and Diella looked at Dizzy with both disgust and jealousy, the little girl just looked down to her lap and grasped her skirt as a way to avoid crying.
On the other hand, Anastasia looked at her only son with a mix of sadness, pride and a little jealousy though the first two emotions won over the third one. Anthony tried not to look pleased by his letter and instead he grabbed a dry biscuit he had bought that morning after negotiating with some people at the docks. His sisters Allana and Anya just ignored all the things that were happening around them, as always, they decided to keep playing with their handmade dolls as they always did when things escalated between their grandmother and the rest.
"At least now we will have someone in the inside" Lady Tremaine said excitedly so unlike her and looked to her grandchildren while plotting something in her head "We can have our revenge on that girl and get a prince for any of the girls"
Anthony rolled his eyes in boredom and said: "I'm not doing anything for you, grandmother…or them for that matter"
"Don't you dare child" She said menacingly and grabbed her cane "Don't make me…"
"You won't reach me in Auradon, you will be trapped here forever" The dark haired boy interrupted her and stood up for the first time for himself, to his mother he looked as a decided young man but he was shaking in the inside just like he did when his mother scolded him when he was a child.
After saying that, he left for his room to start packing his belongings, which weren't many but there were a few things that held sentimental value and others were things that he didn't want any of his cousins or sisters to have.
"Ungrateful brat" Drizella muttered and crossed her arms while she put her feet over the coffe table.
"He is worse than his mother" Lady Tremaine said with disdain while looking at her redheaded daughter and hitting her other daughter with her cane for "ruining" her furniture. All her descendants were a disgrace.
After waiting for a few minutes and making sure that her mother was focused on her book while half listening Drizzella complain about the customers at Curl Up & Dye, Anastasia decided that it was safe to go to talk to her son.
When she entered the bedroom she noticed that most of his clothes were already down and that he was sat on his bed sewing some jacket he had gotten not long ago, the photos he used to hang on his wall were gone and he had even packed some mementos.
"What?" He asked uncomfortably when he noticed that she was in the room. As of late it wasn't usual that his mother entered the room unannounced unless she had something important to say and he feared that she wouldn't give him permission to go, meaning that his grandmother had forbidden her to give him permission to go.
If he had a choice, he wouldn't have told the rest of the family about it; he would have just told his mother and left.
"You are leaving" Anastasia said with resignation.
"It's an opportunity that appears once in a lifetime" He shrugged while he kept sewing.
"I thought that you wanted to be wicked" His mother pointed out with a smile and sat by his side, then she sighed and put a hand on his shoulder.
"Guess that I changed my opinion" He looked to nowhere and then said "In truth I just want to be out of the Isle…get something better for myself"
"You used to be a sweet child Anthony" She put a hand on his cheek and left the next question in the air: "What happened to you?".
"I grew up in the Isle, there's no place for sweetness" He responded to the unspoken question and thought about how he had to make friends with the most hateful and meaner people in the Isle to gain some protection from other people.
"Be better than them" His mother said with a warm smile "We both know you can"
Anthony just nodded in response, he didn't really know what to say.
"Now I just have to get a way to get my mother off to Auradon" He thought, his mother didn't deserve to be in the Isle with the rest of their family.
****At the Jolly Roger*****
Captain Hook's ship was stuck on the docks since they had gotten thrown into the Isle by King Beast all those years ago, it was home for him and his family plus his crew and their own kids, it was a lot more crowded than it was back on the day but they lived more comfortably than other families.
All of the Hook children had their own rooms, well they all did before Harry left to join Uma's crew and CJ escaped to Auradon.
The oldest Hook child was in her room, it was bigger than her sibling's as she was her father's favorite child, though she was sure that his father didn't really play favorites just un-favorites. The room was well-lighted by the Isle standards and she liked it that way since it helped her to keep the room in order, unlike other kids she liked to keep things orderly.
Harriet was lain over her bed reading her letter once again, she had done it five times already, just to be sure that it was real and not some Hadie's prank.
And it was real and it was signed by King Ben's own hand, she had seen his signature before in some news at the TV.
Her father was in one of his legendary hangovers so she decided to stay in her room, she would tell him later. It was lucky that the emissary had arrived early in the morning so no one had seen him deliver the letter since pirates weren't fond of Auradonians since they could take off to the sea after delivering the trash they gave them for the market and rationing while they couldn't and had to live in their permanently off the sea ships.
Captain Hook was angry at her younger siblings so he drank a lot lately, but Harriet had to admit that it was her father's fault that they left. He had always "favored" her over her Harry since he was always a bit…strange when they were little, and CJ was just "too girly" for his taste and he reminded him of her mother.
Still another thing she had to admit was that he was a neglectful father most of the time.
She didn't know why CJ left for Auradon without a real plan. For all she knew her little sister had failed and now was either dead or caught, thought the blonde was most probably trying to figure her next move and hiding somewhere.
And her foolish and crazy twin had been abandoned by his so-called captain.
Now Harry was sad and was waiting for Uma like a dog waits for its master.
It was shameful for a Hook, if she was in his position she would have taken the captains position for herself but she would never be in his positions since she had her own crew.
She sighed and closed her eyes, but when she was starting to feel asleep someone entered her room without knocking, which wasn't really a surprise since no one in the ship bothered doing that.
When she opened her eyes and turned her head she saw Sammy Smee, her oldest friend, looking at her with envy.
"If you had listened to Big Murph about stop being too mean, Yen Sid would have sent a recommendation letter about you to Auradon" She simply told Sammy.
"I would have been picked on, I'm not as respected as you or big enough" He said with some contempt "Also you said we had to be rotten"
"Maybe we have to accommodate to the situation Sammy, things change over time"
There was a silence, they weren't exactly friends but they were used to talk with each other about things that bothered them so it wasn't long till her first mate asked: "What will you do when you get there?"
Harriet shrugged, she didn't have anything planned as of yet, but then said thoughtfully: "I will get a ship and travel, get treasures and be rich"
"You won't get revenge on Peter Pan?" Sammy asked surprised.
"Maybe later, first I want to get something for me" Harriet said with a grin thinking about finally leaving the Isle, but it faltered a little when she thought about her crew who would still be trapped. She thought about promising Sammy to convince King Ben about him being invited to Auradon but refrained from doing so, it would be futile if Yen Sid didn't have good words about her first mate.
"The Captain won't be happy"
"Who cares" She said with a light chuckle, she was the last child he had home but she wasn't going to totally follow his steps and who cared about Peter Pan?, the guy had won kinda fair and square as far as she knew.
It had been a good idea to befriend the Anti-Hero Club even if she didn't join.
She wasn't evil, but she wasn't truly good either.
*****At the Frollo's Creperie****
Judge Claude Frollo had the second nicest house in his side of the Isle, the nicest was according to some the Tremaine's chateau, he had the living quarters in the second and third floor while the first one was used as the Creperie.
His daughter, Claudine Frollo, had been reading and memorizing her bible when her letter arrived. The messenger had been trembling a little when he handed it to her, the judge's punishments for his daughter were well known in the Isle and surely they had advised him not to interact much with the blonde girl.
She had almost fainted when she received the envelope and one of the creperie's employees had to catch her before she fell.
Luckily for her, Claude Frollo was in his afternoon prayers and hadn't seen nor heard anything, also she knew that the employee wouldn't say anything.
She wanted to keep the letter for herself, but she knew better than hid something from her father…after all lying was a sin.
And so after she had cooked dinner and set the table she started to tell her father about her day, he just nodded at the appropriate times while he ate and raised his eyebrow when she told him that a messenger from Auradon had left a letter at the creperie.
Claudine didn't explain more and handed him the envelope, then she looked at her own plate that was yet untouched.
He read the letter without expression, the judge had been getting better and better at hiding his emotions over the years, he muttered a few things before blending the paper and putting it back on its envelope.
Then he gave her a look that made her feel small like a bug.
"So?" She asked timidly without raising her her gaze, suddenly the peas and mashed potatoes were interesting.
"So, what Claudine?" He asked with a stern voice and raising an eyebrow, the envelope was pushed away and then he took a sip of his water.
"Can I go?"
"Absolutely not" Claude said as if she were a stupid child who was asking stupid questions.
The green-eyed girl wanted to ask why but she kept quiet and waited for a rant.
Her father first stood up, walked towards the shelf were he kept his own bible, grabbed it and then looked at crucifix that hung on their dinner room/library/praying room before starting: "That place is plagued by sorcery and its people is godless, just look at their former king…he was a beast! And his son is courting a witch, the daughter of a demon. Don't get me started with their false gods like Zeus and his wife Hera, they besides defy Our Lord committed the sin of incest. Also I won't let my only child to be contaminated by their modernity" Then he placed a hand on her cheek and said with a fake sweet voice "My dear Claudine, the outside world is full of treachery and danger; pure girls like you are easily corrupted by it" and then with a dry tone he added "You don't want to disappoint me, right? You won't betray me like the Hunchback?"
"Of course not father" She said without looking at his eyes fearing that her gaze would reveal that she wanted to accept the offer to go to Auradon.
"Your place is at your father's side"
"Yes,father"
"Good child, now go to your room and study your lessons" He was leaving for his quarters and then stopped "And don't forget to be down at the shop tonight"
"Yes, father"
"I'm so sorry father, but I want to get out of here" She thought and started to plan how to get out of the shop without raising suspicion.
*****At the Westergaard Gunshop*****
The Westergard Gunshop was the house that unofficially divided Madonna Tremaine's territory from Maleficient's ones, which meant that the "most civilized" villains (which was a stretch) lived at Tremaine's side while the other lived at the Queen of Darkness'. It only had two floors and the front of the first floor served as the shop.
They usually sold the guns that were discarded by the Auradon Guard or the ones that were pawned by some desperate people, the business had been thriving the first years the ex-prince Hans had been on the Isle as some villains and minions were scared of the most dangerous ones, but as years passed by fewer people were interested on buying guns and other kinds of weapons.
And so an opportunity arrived when Hal Westergaard, Hans' third son, received a letter inviting him to Auradon. The ex-prince didn't question himself about why and instead started plotting during dinner, he thought that the runt of the litter was finally going to be useful.
"When you arrive you will get the proof that Elsa's powers are totally dangerous" Hans instructed his youngest son.
"Of course" Hal said rolling his eyes, he wasn't at all interested on hearing about his father's plans. Still a small part of him was glad about the attention, just a little.
"And you will get a princess" His oldest brother, Hansel, added.
"And you will get us out of the Isle" His other brother, Harald, continued.
"Then we will get Arendelle and the Southern Isles" Hans ended with a triumphal smile and his older sons celebrated.
"What do I get?" Hal asked in a serious tone, he knew that the answer was probably nothing but he still wanted to be part of the conversation as his family usually ignored him.
"I will give you lands in some place" Hans said dismissively "I get the Southern Isles and I will give Arendelle to Harald" and added after some thought" Hansel is my heir so he will have to train to be king after I die"
"So I get to do all the hard work and you get to enjoy the fruits? "Hal asked disbelievingly. It was always like this, he did all the work and they just took what they wanted.
"Do it for the family"
"He always says it, but I don't feel part of the family" Hal thought grudgingly as his father ignored him most of the time but if he could get something from him he showed interest, Hansel was a poor excuse of a human being and Harald was just a tool.
Hal had to admit that he was the only being with some intelligence in the family and that was why Yen Sid had taken some interest on him, even though he wasn't exactly the brightest one in Dragon Hall he had escalated some places since Carlos de Vil had left for Auradon.
He wondered what would happen after he left, surely one of the Tremaine sisters, Zevon or Ginny Gothel would take his place.
Though he shuddered at the thought of them getting invited to Auradon.
"You know what" Hal said with a confident voice and stood up from his seat, he grabbed the corner of the table with his hands to give him some sense of strength "I will get Arendelle and the Southern Isles…"
His father and brothers smiled convinced that they had persuaded him to join their plans.
"…But not for you" The redheaded boy said with a confident smile.
"What?" His father asked furiously and put a fist on the table, all his three sons shuddered a bit. It wasn't nice when Hans Westergaard got angry, that only meant more hours of polishing the weapons and a few days without lunch or dinner.
"If I get them it would be for me" Hal said defiantly trying to keep his resolve and keeping a cool face "I will see if I share them with you, but I won't do all the work while you get to take advantage from me"
Then Hans looked at his youngest son with a hard sight and Hal just looked pointedly at the wall where his father's sword was hung while Hansel and Harald tried to pretend that they weren't there.
"This is going to be interesting" Hal thought.
*****At the Prince John's Castle*****
Prince John's castle was located near to Evil Queen's castle but it was far less majestic, for Isle standards, and was basically just a tower but he insisted on calling it a castle and tried to keep it in good condition but to no vail since most of his servants had died during a plague about five years into the creation of the Isle
"Poor Prince John" was having his dinner with his children: Henry and Leonor.
They usually ate whatever they could find at the restaurants their "friendly acquaintances" owned since none of the three had bothered to learn to cook.
"Bring some gold" He simply said to his son after reading the letter, the messenger had the bad luck of encountering the former prince while he delivered the envelope and had to pretend to care about the rant the "The Phony King of England" gave about the disrespect of getting sent to the Isle as if he was some common criminal.
"Just that?" Henry asked with confusion, he was surprised as he had expected a more complicated plan. Still, he knew that he was going to plan something by himself, he was one of the best students at Evil Schemes and Nasty Plots.
"It's not like you would succeed at something more complicated" Leonor snorted, she and her brother were often at odds and the fact that he had been invited had only added salt to the wound.
"Maybe I can defeat Robin Hood or make his children suffer" Henry suggested simply, he was going to formulate a more elaborate plan when he got to the other side.
His father smiled and said: "Well…"
Leonor laughed and said: "You always fail Lady Tremaine's class; you can't plan anything little brother"'
"I'm older than you!" Henry protested which made his sister laugh once more and then he added "Now I'm one of the best students in her class! Those who were called the Rotten Four only held me back!"
Their father coughed and said: "I don't care how but you are going to make us rich, you can leave Robin Hood and his brats for later…"
"Yes father" Henry said solemnly"
"We are going to be the richest family in all the known world" Prince John said happily "We are going to leave this filthy island".
***** At the Underworld*****
Hades being a god and the god of death wasn't exactly kept at the Isle of the Lost, he could leave from time to time to visit his wife, Persephone, at the Underwold along with his children. When those kind of things happened they usually were watched either by Ares or Athena, as they descended into the Underworld they were talking about the plans they had for when they got there.
"Now you two have to gain Hercules trust" Hades instructed as if he was reading a list.
"For what?" Hadie asked distractedly, he didn't exactly care about the conversation as he was thinking about seeing Cerberus after a long time. There were almost no pets on the Isle and he liked dogs so playing with his father's dog was an experience he liked.
Hades sighed and looked at him with disappointment, then looked at his daughter with resignation and said: "Tell him"
Melinoe explained with a bored tone "We are going to take over Mount Olympus, and or that we have to gain Hercules trust to get invited to the annual party held there"
"And how we are going to take Mount Olympus?" Hadie asked with a sly smile, he knew that his father's greatest ambition was to get out of the Isle and maybe take over Mount Olympus, just to piss off uncle Zeus as he was no longer totally butt hurt about the whole Hercules stuff.
"I'm getting there, bro" She said rolling her eyes, her brother was always the impatient one "We are going to ask "innocently" how to unleash the Titans"
"But you two already know how to do that" Hades said.
"Maybe instead of stealing Hercules's powers…we could steal Fairy Good Mother's wand" Melinoe suggested as if it was the best plan ever.
"I don't like this plan" Hadie thought but said nothing and put his hands on his pocket while he started to whistle.
"It's a good idea Melly" Their father said proudly.
"Thanks dad" She said with a smile and then gave her brother a look.
"You steal the wand and…"
"Get you out of here and…"
"I really don't like this" Hadie shook his head while he muttered
"We unleash the Titans, take Mount Olympus and…" Hades said excitedly.
"Let's pretend I agree" He thought while smiled to his father and sister as if he had been persuaded to agree on their plan
"We dance, we kiss, we schmooze,we carry on, we come home happy" The sibling chanted.
"Oh, you are going to make me cry" Hades said smiling.
"But why do we have to return?" Hadie asked to his sister in a mumble.
"It may be a little dark, a little gloomy, full of dead people but is still home" Melinoe responded.
"I won't miss here" The boy thought grimly and decided to instead focus on the dog treats he had on his pocket.
