****Serpent Prep****
Celia's stay at Ursula's wasn't how she thought it would be.
It was slightly better than Freddie had said it had been when they were younger but it wasn't because Ursula had suddenly become a good mother.
That would have been too surrealistic.
(Also she had been ignored for more than a week till that moment, not that she complained)
Ursula had ignored her for a while in favor of giving some food to her eels and Celie just stood in front of her but near the door so she could escape should something happen, then her mother had just given her a disgusted look before saying "You'll have to earn your stay but I can't have you tending the tables, people would question why you are here"
"What would you like me to do?" Celia asked raising an eyebrow, she had known that waiting tables had been Uma's task before she had disappeared.
"You can start by washing the dishes and taking out the trash, Morgan will take the orders with Uriel and that guy…Har-something will clean up the tables" Ursula said and added "Then you will disappear for the day till is time for you to go to Serpent Prep"
"What?!" The girl exclaimed in surprise, her father had not told her about her changing schools. It was ridiculous to change schools at this point and he had said that she wouldn't stay at Ursula's for long.
"Go-to-Serpent-Prep" The cecaelia repeated with annoyance and looked at her nails before continuing "I'll not have you slacking around here, your aunt has spoken with Lord Beckett's wife and she had convinced him to let you assist to the classes in exchange for fresh fish during your stay"
"Do you get fresh fish at this side of the Isle?" The girl thought in astonishment and bit her tongue before she said anything she would regret.
Like shaming her for not caring about what her other two daughters ate for about twelve years.
"Why-?" She started to ask but quickly shut up knowing that the answer was not going to be given by the sea witch.
"Now, get out of my sight till you are needed" Ursula dismissed her and got back at checking her books.
Celia huffed before leaving her mother's "room", that had gone better than she expected when her cousin Uriel, her aunt's Morgana oldest son, had barged into her room saying that her mother needed her and that she should go downstairs as soon as possible.
Both of her cousins were waiting for her and she was sure that they had been listening to the whole exchange.
"Don't say anything" She said menacingly when she saw their amused faces.
"Hey, at least you won't have to interact with the pirates or the huns…" Uriel tried to make her new task sound better than taking orders but was clear that he was entertained by her interaction with his aunt, he then put on a serious face and looked at the clock on the wall "We have to get going, I don't know how things are at Dragon Hall but Lord Beckett likes everyone to be in time…"
"Are the pirates that bad?" Celia asked as they got out of the shop. She was actually curious because she had seen the ones from the Jolly Roger and they weren't that bad, just the occasional raiding when the shipments were low and their constant drinking.
"The worst, even worse than Uriel" Morgan huffed as he dodged a slap on the head from his brother and continued after giving Uriel an incensed look "They always steal money from the cashier, they go away without paying and fight with each other knocking everything in the shop"
"Fighting at Ursula's? Doesn't she kick them out?" Celia asked with surprise as she had heard from her father that her mother didn't like physical fights, the sea witch was more on the
"Uma had them put their swords on a checker but that doesn't stop them from using their fists when they are drunk" Uriel responded "Harry being there with his hook helped somewhat to keep the younger ones in line"
"But some of the older pirates just laughed their treats off" The younger brother added with some amusement "Though Uma always demanded for respect…not that she always succeeded"
"Maybe it had to do with Uma being called Shrimpy" The older brother noted "Or with Harry being casted out by Harriet and Captain Hook and losing protection and status, and of course, Gil being the least intelligent Legume"
"Wait…was Harry cast out by his sister? I can understand about Hook as he never quite liked his son but Harriet?" Celia was confused as she knew that Harriet cared a great deal about her twin but she also had to admit that she didn't know the pirate that well.
"He was" Uriel confirmed and seemed delighted at the opportunity to gossip "It was a few months before Uma got her ship from Hook's fleet, no one knows what happened between them but some say that it had to do with their father seeing Peter Pan on them but mostly on Harry"
"I heard another version" Morgan said "It had to do with the separation of Hook and , Harry was always closer with her than with Hook…despite her not being his mother"
"Freddie said that is only CJ's mother, is that right?" Celia asked in a hushed tone that was usual when someone asked who was whose other parent.
Both of her cousins nodded and soon they were on the ramp that connected the damaged ships that formed the school. Unlike Dragon Hall, Serpent Prep had options both for boarding and day students.
For a fee, that was it. Everything was good business in that school.
Celia just raised an eyebrow when she saw Lord Beckett standing on the deck with two persons that he recognized as James Norrington and Angelica Teach, sometimes costumers at Frollo's Creperie and at Hades' Souvlaki, they were watching the students get on board and supervising that there were no fights…before lunch, after that they didn't care what happened according to what she had heard from Freddie who had heard from CJ.
"Ah, Ms. Facilier" She heard Lord Beckett call her as they walked past them "Our visitor from the other side"
The girl stopped on her tacks and turned to see the school's principal and didn't say anything, she was just waiting for anything he had to say while her cousins stood a few steps behind and seemed to want to blend with the walls.
Lord Beckett made a sign to the disgraced Admiral Norrington and the man handed Celia a piece of paper while saying in a gruff tone "Your schedule while you are visiting this side of the Isle and a map of the school, don't get lost and be on time for all the classes"
"I took the liberty of enrolling you on Enrichment & Scheme Management and Con-Artistry, something tells me that you'll find them enlightening taking in account what your father said during a meeting-" The principal started to explain in a tone so posh that reminded her of the Tremaines but she kept quiet.
"And we have also written on the back of the paper which places and clubs you should avoid" Angelica interrupted and seemed to be analyzing the voodoo girl with her gaze, Celia remembered that she sometimes traded with her father and with the Jolly Roger crew but mostly avoided the other side of the Isle.
Lord Beckett gave the pirate an offended look and then continued "Finally, I suggest you stay near your cousins should any problem arise, I don't have time to solve all my students' feuds"
There was one "and you aren't even my student" lingering there but the young girl understood.
"Thank you" Celia said and nodded in acknowledgment to the faculty of her new school, then she turned on her feet once more and joined her cousins.
Morgan snatched the paper from her hand as they walked over a ramp to another ship and seemed to give it a quick read before saying "It seems that you are in most of my classes!"
"That's good" Celia responded with some relief as she didn't want to get lost or catch much attention "I suppose"
"Could be worse" Uriel said as he snatched the paper from his brother and added with a gasp "You have my mother for Basic Sea Survival"
"And?"
"Try not to die" Morgan said solemnly and Celia waited for him to laugh, instead the boy said "She almost killed us on that class and we are half-cecaelia"
"It's an "elective" though it's a requirement for Underwater Survival" Uriel added and put a hand on Celia's shoulder.
"What do you do on these classes?" Celia asked curiously.
"It's like P.E…. but on the water" Morgan explained and made a face "You know how to swim, right? I heard that some do at your side of the Isle"
The girl shook her head and grimaced, then she just followed her cousin to the first class of the morning and instantly regretted not having fought more her father on the issue of living temporarily at Ursula's.
****Curl Up and Dye****
Dilla and Diella were not used to do the "heavy" work at their family business, Dizzy was supposed to be the one cleaning up before and after the day.
Still, since they younger sister was now in Auradon living the high-life and they were back at the bottom of the food chain as Drisha was older than them and nowadays Diana would disappear for a few days and then come again to cut some hair and try to innovate the hairdos, take some money, yell at their mother and then disappear again.
Their mother never paid them much attention to where they were or what they did, unless she wanted something done which was not often as they had the youngest for that, and they were sure that she frequently forgot which was who, especially regarding to the twins.
"Can you keep an eye on them for me?" Anastasia asked as she entered the salon and gave a quick look to the place but kept herself from complaining about the lack of a good cleaning "I need to run some errands with "
Aunt Anastasia had been well-ish, she didn't have many mental breakdowns or delusions during these weeks after Anthony left, still the woman knew that it could happen any time and so she left Anya and Allana with them during the day when they weren't at school.
"Sure" Dilla said brightly while Diella just nodded and said "Tell Gianna that she should come sometime, her hair is starting to get too long again"
"I'll tell her that" Anastasia said after processing it for a while and then said as she went through the door "Take care"
"I love coming here!" Anya exclaimed as she looked at the drawings of the styles offered by the salon. Unlike her cousins, they didn't help much with the business as they had other chores at the chateau.
Dilla liked Anya, she felt closer to her cousin than her twin and the fact that the girl had the same shade of brown hair as well as being fourteen just like her…made her wish she had been born to Aunt Anastasia instead.
Diella, on the other hand, felt some envy towards her cousins. They had a mother that actually cared and had a father who didn't just one day disappeared and was most probably dead.
(Diana had said that there were rumors that he was living at the other side of the Isle, Drisha said that going to see if it was truth wasn't worth it)
"Are you done for the day?" Anya asked Dilla after a quick glance at herself on one of the mirrors. When they didn't have any chores to do, they would paint each other's nails and try to create new hairdos…which less than good results and gaining a reprimand from Drizella for wasting time.
"No" Diella sharply answered for her twin and gave the brunette a dirty look before holding out the broom she was using but her cousin didn't take it "But we could be if you came to help instead of asking stupid questions"
"Rude" Allana scolded her and tried to fix her red hair with a brush, it looked as if she had run electricity through it, but instead it made it worse. She was even younger than Dizzy but she carried herself like a little lady…when she decided to speak that was it as she would usually blend into the nearest wall or sofa and pretend to not exist till someone addressed her.
"Diella is always rude" Dilla giggled while kicking her sister lightly on her leg and almost making her fall but her twin quickly regained her balance and gave her a menacing look "You should have better manners or Granny will-"
"Hit me with her cane" Diella interrupted with annoyance and rolling her eyes, that hadn't happened in a while as Anthony and Diana would take all the hits for them but there was always a chance that it would happen now, and then complained "It's not like we need manners here"
"There's a chance that Anthony can get us out of here…" Anya said with some hope in her eyes but tried to keep her voice uninterested "We may end up needing manners there"
The four Tremaine cousins knew there was a slim chance that it would happen.
While Anthony cared about the family, he wasn't that close to his sisters (there was some bad blood between the three of them because of their father's death) and younger cousins (because all of them were annoying), except for Dizzy as she was a sunshine.
If there was someone that wasn't his mother, he would be interested on taking out of the Isle (first) was Drisha as Diana (his favorite-ish cousin) was out of school and…she was entangled in a sort of weird relationship not-quite-marriage-but-sorta with a Stabbington cousin (they could never figure out which) even if they didn't actually live together.
Still, Drisha would never have the approval from Yen Sid and the old wizard had made it very clear that the Anti-Hero Club was disbanded, that Auradon had ceased contact with him and the matter was sealed by Dr. Facilier. Also, there was the matter that she had recently joined Mad Maddy and was hanging out with the middle Westergaard brother.
"Wouldn't Dizzy have a better chance at getting us out of here?" Diella wondered putting her hand on her chin, something that her Granny thought was unlady-like, and then looked at their unbelieving faces before huffing "She is close to Evie"
"And?" Dilla asked rolling her eyes "She is a kid; no one would take her suggestions seriously"
"Just two years younger than us" Her twin responded with exasperation as she always did when people didn't catch up on her thinking as quick as she would like to "That empty-headed lark is friends with the future queen's best friend and the Beast Jr. seems to take Evie's suggestions into consideration, wasn't Dizzy invited to Auradon just a few days after that stupid cotillion?"
"Mal scored herself a good match" Anya commented distractedly "Evie has a…"
"Boyfriend her mother wouldn't approve, he isn't a prince and she was supposed to bring one back home" Allana completed the sentence when her sister suddenly drifted away when she noticed that there was a spot on one of the mirrors "Granny would like one for us too…or maybe a duke or an earl"
"Especially after having a baker for a son-in-law" Diella muttered. She had nothing against her late uncle but her aunt had married too below for her family.
(Not that marrying up had done much good for her own mother but Diella was proud that her father had been a duke)
"I heard that" Allana snapped, she still missed her father and unlike her younger sister, she had actual memories of him.
"I wonder if Anthony had gotten around getting Harriet to take him back" Dilla commented trying to change the topic, no one in the family knew what had actually happened between them as when they were together, they seemed to be perfect for each other.
(Dilla knew that it had been a friendly break-up as he had gotten home unscathed and Harriet wasn't bragging about ditching the boy and breaking more than his heart)
"I hope not" Anya crunched her nose in disgust and then added with a snobbish tone (learnt from their grandmother) "I would hate to be related to pirates, especially Hook"
"Wasn't he married to a fairy?" Allana asked "It would be interesting to be related to one"
"She became human" Dilla responded "And it isn't like it would be any use here on the Isle"
"Then why Madam Mim's grandchildren learn spells?" Allana wondered and then added "Maybe someday the barrier will go down and they would be useful"
"As if the barrier could come down!" Anya snorted but then seemed to drift off "Jane could have another bad hair day and steal her mother's wand"
"Do you remember that bad haircut?" Dilla asked making a face "I would rather die than have one like that!"
Diella "admired" her sister and cousins' capacity of chancing the topic of any conversation but bit her tongue and decided to continue sweeping the floor as it wouldn't bode well for any of them not to have the salon ready to open for business.
"Dilla! Diella!" They heard Drizella yell from the second floor and they all flinched "The place better be ready for yesterday! I can hear you slacking off! I need the salon now! Or do you want our clients to go to Heart Queen's?"
There was the unspoken rivalry between the two salons and when the usual clients were unsatisfied with the service provided, they would go to the other and ill-speak about the other owner fueling the fire between them.
Also, it didn't help that Hubert of Hearts was now out of school and could help full-time on his mother's salon and had brought some help from his own gang.
"We are almost finished" Dilla yelled back but there was some trembling on her voice, she relaxed a little when she didn't hear her mother climbing down the stairs and looked down.
"Also, we have classes in thirty minutes" Diella said in a deadpan tone as she turned to her twin "With Granny"
The four girls groaned and decided to speed up their cleaning before Drizella decided to come down.
It was better to finish as soon as possible since Granny's punishments were worse than Drizella's and they usually came one after the other.
****Jolly Roger****
Sammy had skipped school that day to help the captain, though he had told himself that it was not going to happen again…he knew that he was going to skip many days from now on.
(He wasn't complaining; he didn't like going to school anymore as half of the classmates he liked were now in Auradon or dropped out)
The blonde boy looked at himself on a broken mirror on the wall of the room he shared with his younger brothers and decided that he didn't look as menacing as he would like, or need.
Sean and Simon had already gone to school with some of the younger kids and he supposed Helena had been the one to make sure that all of their crew had a full-ish breakfast that morning. His father had started to tend only to the adults' crew back when Harriet decided to welcome three of the Stabbington cousins and the princesses of Andalasia and Annuvin to the Jolly Roger.
Something about him having too much work and too many children running around.
"Sammy Smee, get your lazy ass down here right now or I'll gut you like a fish!" Captain Hook yelled from the hall but Sammy knew that it wasn't a real threat as the old pirate knew that he now could only rely on him to keep the younger crew in order as Harriet was on Auradon, CJ was missing (probably on Auradon) and Harry was useless.
Maybe that was why he had cut his drinking like a lot and now he only drunk ale at night, also he had started to keep his accounts and was organizing the food supplies with the help of Starkey's oldest daughter, Sienna, who was the unofficial cook assistant.
Hook's Inlet store was being tended by his father and Black Murph at the moment so he was in charge of the grocery counter that was stationed next to the ramp that joined the pier with the ship. It was one of the duties that Harriet and him had before she went to Auradon but it wasn't as interesting without her.
He had occasionally accompanied his captain during her shifts and had learned to know when a customer was cheating, how to stop people from stealing from them (usually a knife was involved), when one of the kids had stealing money and how much to charge everyone according to the alliances built between them.
The pirates were tasked with most of the food and some other supplies that came on the shipments every week and the goblins couldn't sell on the first three days, it was a deal made between the pirate captains of each side of the Isle and the goblins that worked at the docks. Sammy could never outright understand how it worked but it had been set on the second year at the Isle and he knew that Captain Hook and Captain Teach paid a good amount of money for those supplies and charged another good amount of money to their customers.
Also, they sometimes traded with Ursula who most of the time had fresh fish because of her father who sent them to her side of the Isle every start of the month.
"Try not to get cheated out of change" Suhk Yu, one of Shan Yu's sons and one of the first recruits of their crew, said as he passed by his side.
"I'm not you" Sammy protested trying to land a punch on the young man's face but the other dodged it with a chuckle "Where are you going?"
"One of Madam Mim's granddaughter is ill, I don't know which one, and Marianne asked me to see if it was…" Suhk seemed uncomfortable but Sammy understood and nodded.
Sukh had graduated two years before and had trained under Nasira to be some kind of healer and so he was now very required as there were many people falling sick, especially after the sorceress' death, Anastasia drifting off more and more and Gianna deciding that she was more concerned on being a midwife and experimenting with the few herbs that could grow on the Isle.
"Then you should go, we don't want Marianne breaking your fingers for being late" Sammy said standing up and pushing his crewmate to the side so he could start walking. "Then you can come back and fix that damn door at the Stabbington's quarters"
After that a slow morning was passing and Sammy had been thinking about how much yelling he would endure the next day at Dragon Hall, especially from Gaston who appreciated his grow spurt as it meant more people for wrestling, and how much homework would he be given when Gil Legume and two youngsters of his (Uma's) crew appeared carrying a few covered baskets.
"What is this?" Sammy asked while standing up trying to get a better look of the baskets.
"Baskets" Gil said simply.
"Why?" He was confused as why they would come all the way from the other side of the Isle.
"Take it" Gaston's son said as he lifted up the cover of the basket he had been carrying.
It was fish, and since the Legume lived at Ursula's side it was probably fresh.
The older boy realized that it was a way to pay back the favor he had done a few weeks ago when he helped Uma's crew to dissuade and attack from Mad Maddy's crew.
"We'll take it" Sammy said nodding and then yelled "Sienna, Darren, get down here!"
As the cooks got the baskets inside the ship, Gil and his crewmates stood there and Sammy knew that it would be strange just to send them off without saying anything else.
After a minute of considering it, he asked "Does Harry knows about this?"
"I suppose so" Gil said but Sammy could see him flinching a little after his question but decided not to press the Legume about it and then extended his hand to shake. Gil took it and then left with the two crewmates in tow.
Sammy was ready to get back to his thoughts till customers came, which was usually late afternoon but Captain Hook liked to have their counter opened at morning and close at sunset, when Jayda appeared up on the street clutching a letter but she didn't seem to be happy as she would probably be if the contents were good.
Also, she seemed not to have any emotions on her face.
That wasn't good.
He just waited till she reached the counter and when she did, he only lifted up his gaze and waited for her to speak.
It wasn't long till she asked "Why did you write to Jay?"
"It seemed proper"
"I don't need his permission to marry, you or anyone else" Jayda said coldly.
"As I said it seemed proper" Sammy shrugged.
"Likewise, I didn't even say that I would marry you…you just proposed on the day of my mother's funeral and I said that I would think about it, then you didn't even show up when we were supposed to speak about it since you were on the docks defending that idiot and sent your little brothers instead" The young woman said looking at him with an unreadable expression "We are not there yet, Samuel"
They had known each other since childhood, around one year apart, but weren't constantly on each other's social circle as she was living at the other side of the Isle where her father had lived as he had been a pirate but her mother had sworn allegiance to the ex-king of thieves (complicated matter and Jafar wasn't happy about it) and he lived with the other pirates and was sworn from birth to the Hooks.
Even with the different social circles, the feelings had been always there (mostly on his side but still).
They had only started seeing each other after Jay had a falling out with his aunt and Sukh had started his training under Nasira at Ms. Sinclair request; it had started slowly with just some sneaking around to kiss in the alleyways but then they started to spend more time together and when Jay left and Nasira fell sick, he had tried to help them all he could.
"True" The pirate conceded but then added a question "Is marrying me that bad?"
"Marrying according to my mother is an economic and social proposition" Jayda simply said shrugging and cupped his cheek with her hand and keep the "what can you offer?" unspoken.
"Not much" He admitted, there was always a chance Harriet came back or Hook died and that would lead to a carnage between the crews "But I'm fond of you and you will be safe here"
"Let's say I agree" She said squinting her eyes "What if Jafar comes here? He doesn't like me but I'm still his niece and he is a petty man"
"I can keep him at bay" Sammy knew that Jafar could cause some problem as he didn't have a supplier for his store anymore and Jayda had some training from the thieves, after some thought he diverted the conversation to "It isn't like you have many options, either you die trying to keep your apartment, join Gianna's gang to become some kind of henchwoman or come here…Harriet offered once but-"
"I refused" Jayda interrupted him and was about to say something when Harry appeared walking up the street.
****Gaston Duels without Rules****
Gilly disliked those days when Junior and the Third brought people over after school.
Especially when they brought their allies who were one messier than the other.
That just meant more work for her, wasn't cleaning the house from top to bottom twice a week enough?
Her father thought it to be a woman's job and since her mother was once more pregnant (didn't they have enough children already?), she was tasked with all the housework till her mother gave birth and the babe as weaned.
Gabi wasn't much help but she had her own chores and for some reason, Gaston had decided that his youngest daughter was better off spending her afternoons doing her own thing rather than helping Gilly.
"You forgot to wash the clothes" Her father simply said when they climbed up the stairs leaving her brothers with their allies "And you mother needs you to fix some blankets or something, you should ask her what she needs" He seemed to have forgotten something and then added "And try to make something decent for dinner, would you?"
Gilly was known in their family for burning water but still his father refused to buy from Frollo's creperie, which was right beside their house, she knew that they weren't exactly enemies (at least on her father's side) and her father would sometimes try to strike some conversation up but…he refused to make business with the old judge.
She remembered that her mother would sometimes speak with Frollo and the conversation was somewhat cordial but suddenly it stopped around the time one of her little siblings had died, she couldn't remember which but they were dead now and it didn't matter, and Gabi had her nose broken by one of the Smee twins.
"We don't have any meat" She simply said "Or fish, I heard that Ho-"
"Make pasta then, there should be some tomato sauce that isn't too rotten" Gaston interrupted his daughter.
"But-"
"You won't buy any fish from Hook, understood?" Her father said firmly and grabbed her arm with force "At least for a week, then you can buy from him again"
She nodded after a sigh and Gaston seemed to be pleased by her response so he decided to go down while saying "I'll go to a reunion with Hans and the Stabbingtons, don't bother your brothers or your mother"
The blonde once more nodded and just stood there till she heard the outside door closing, then she muttered "Why can't I leave like Gianna and Genna?"
Gianna had her own gang and Genna had joined her a while ago, her older sister had never asked if she wanted to go with her though…
And her twin had just been beaten up by the older twins and had been picked up as a stray by Uma, she hadn't seen him in a while but if he was dead…she was sure that the Gastons would taunt her about that and so she didn't worry much about his safety.
Sometimes she thought about leaving and joining her sisters or even joining Uma's but she couldn't leave Gabi (as much as the girl annoyed her)
She started looking on their fridge for ingredients to cook something, like her father had said there was half a can of tomato sauce and a few noodles.
"Fuck" She muttered as she realized that they wouldn't have anything for breakfast the next day as she had forgotten going to Hook's or the market.
"Gilly" She heard her mother faintly calling out from her room, she probably didn't need something and was on the search someone to speak with.
The girl considered ignoring her as she wasn't feeling especially talkative and she needed to get their food ready, wash the clothes, sew some blankets and from what she was hearing, her brothers would leave bloodstains on the floor and maybe rip some of their clothes.
"Why don't they wrestle out on the street?" She wondered and considered going downstairs to yell at them but she knew it would be to no vail, moreover she would be scolded by their father as he would consider it to be "boys being boys" and her slacking off by not having the dinner done.
"Gilly" She heard her mother once more and her voice was louder and somewhat more urgent.
"Mom?" Gilly asked but stood on her place and when she didn't hear a response, she quickly went to her mother's room.
The door was half-opened and Gilly knocked lightly on the door before going in, her mother was sat on the bed with a book opened on her lap.
She frowned a little as her mother didn't read much and when she did it was children stories or some discarded fashion magazine that one of the Gastons stole from Curl Up and Dye for her, the book didn't seem either of them.
The blonde girl didn't say anything and went to open the window as the room felt a little too hot for her taste and the air was a little bit heavy, she knew her mother wouldn't ask her to do that but it was needed.
She also knew that it wasn't the reason she was called in and so she sat on her mother's bed.
"How are you?" Gilly asked as a way to start the conversation.
"Good" Her mother said with a faint smile "How are the boys?"
"They are downstairs as you may hear" The girl shrugged.
"Gabi?"
"She is probably at the Mims"
Her mother frowned but didn't say anything, both knew that it could only mean problems to have three Legumes involved with the old witch's family but preferred to keep their mouths shut as Gaston thought that it was a good alliance.
"Were is your father?"
"He has gone to the Westergaard's"
"I hope he isn't doing anything dangerous" The woman said with a sigh, for all she was still in love with her husband, sometimes she got frustrated at his intents at climbing social positions among the villains at the Isle.
Especially when the adults had not yet decided who would be Queen of King in the Isle, there was always a chance Madam Mim would raise among them instead of Evil Queen or Jafar.
(They all knew Cruella was far too gone to compete for it, Lord Beckett didn't have enough support and neither Facilier or Hook were interested)
Things were far too peaceful lately, that could only mean that at least one of them was bidding time.
There were also the matters of her sister, Clay Clayton and Hansel Westergaard wanting to take Mal's place as the leader of the younger ones, Hubert would keep on the sidelines as he liked to keep to himself and Uma's and Harriet's crews were without a captain.
(She was actually surprised to see how loyal the pirate crew could be)
"He said that you needed me to fix some blankets?" Gilly asked hoping to change the topic as her mother was starting to breathe a little bit uneasy.
"Oh, right!" Her mother exclaimed as if she had forgotten about it and pointed to a laundry basket and said "They have some holes on them, can you sew them? Your brother will need them when he is born"
Gilly just nodded and refrained from actually giving a response, the two brothers after Gabi had died before their fourth birthday (they weren't named Gaston, thank God, but Gian and Gianni) and the unnamed sister that had been born three years ago had been born dead.
She wasn't sure if her mother would survive this pregnancy.
"Do you need anything else?" She asked as a way to push her thoughts away.
"No" Her mother responded and seemed to sniff something in the air "Were you ccooking?"
Gilly frowned and shook her head before going out of the room to see what was happening at the kitchen.
She didn't expect to see the Third with Gabi trying to cook and so she blurted out "What are you doing here?"
"I was hungry, sis" the Third said rolling his eyes "Couldn't have you made some food already? It isn't that complicated"
"And you forgot to fix my shirt" Gabi said.
"I was about to make dinner when mom called me" Gilly responded pushing Gabi to the side and pouring some water over the noodles her siblings were making.
"Did she forget to ask dad to open the window again?" her brother asked in a bored tone "Why doesn't she ask before he leaves?"
"He went out without checking if she was okay" Gilly thought but instead said "Are those idiots gone?"
"Nah, Junior went out with Maddy and Ginny" the Third said and when he noticed the face Gilly made, he explained "He is accompanying them to some party they were invited"
"Hmm" She just hummed "I suppose that is needed now that Sammy Smee almost crushed you a while ago"
Her brother grabbed her arm and said "That is an exaggeration, the pirates outnumbered us"
"Because you were so dumb to go straight to the Lost Revenge instead of waiting for Guy-who-never-existed to get out for something"
"Who are you calling dumb?"
"All of your gang" Gilly said with a smirk as she was amused at how quickly her brother got angry.
"It was a one-time thing! We were going to get a ship"
"And you almost ruined your Maddy's plan by getting killed"
"I can crush that blonde shit any day"
Gilly wondered if he was referring to Sammy or to her twin, she then pushed his arm away and turned to Gabi who was just listening to the conversation as if it was free entertainment "What are you doing here?"
"I have nothing else to do" The girl shrugged and pointed at the noodles "I don't want burned food again"
"We are most likely to die from eating this crap than anything else" the Third muttered and poured some tomato sauce over the noodles "Don't we at least have something to add to this? We are eating worse than the Slims or the thieves"
"No" Gilly responded curtly "You have to get supplies from the docks tomorrow"
"Why me?"
"Because you can push more people aside to get the best supplies" The girl responded with a pointed look.
That ended their conversation as Junior had entered the kitchen with blood over him and none of his siblings asked what happened, Gabi just handed him some towels and gave him a glass with water.
