"I guess you could say it all started when I was five." A green haired figure looked up at a bright blue sky. "In all honesty, I was small, weak, pitiful. Afterall, what if you learned you had no power, when you knew it was the norm to have said power." The figure walked forward for about a minute before hearing a loud crash.
"I met somebody, and he remedied my powerlessness, by showing me the Force. He taught me, made me what I am today, and without the man I would not be here." A gaint villain was knocked back by a small group of heroes. "I learned from the start, that not all living things are born equal. But all have the ability to rise above that and become incredibly powerful." "Ahhhhhhh! It's Kamui Woods, we're your biggest fans." A group of girls in the front of a crowd yelled. Darth Ferno scoffed. 'Blind fans, I can't believe I used to be one of them.' He shook his head with disbelief as he pulled out his analysis notebook #15. "In this world, quirks were everything, and without them you're nothing. Too bad I didn't listen."
'Let's see here, the most powerful hero present, would obviously be Kamui Woods. His quirk makes him the most versatile, with Backdraft coming in second, the key difference being one can produce while the other can only manipulate. Death Arms, while strong, is simply not much of a threat to someone smaller and faster than him.' "What'd he do?" One bystander asked another. "He stole someone's handbag, and got cornered." 'Well, that's just pathetic. Right off the top of my head, I could think of ten different ways to better utilize that quirk. Although, that begs the question, why was he stealing? I don't sense any true malintent, so it's likely he was in dire straits.'
"Assault, robbery, holding up traffic, destruction of public and private property? You are the incarnation of evil." Kamui Woods' voice was loud, and projected thought the area. It took nearly everything for Darth Ferno not to break down in hysterical laughter. 'Incarnation of Evil?! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, please, heh, this small-time offender is probably one of the furthest things from. Darth Vitiate, according to my master, was the incarnation of evil, not this poor thing. AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!'
It was true, Darth Vitiate, according to Darth Alcor, had a plan to consume all the life force in the galaxy and make himself a god. It was the kind of insanity and evil that prompted both Jedi and Sith to make a truce in order to bring him down. Darth Ferno smirked as he almost went back to his quirk breakdowns before the force rang at him to pay attention. Deciding not to argue he watched as Kamui attempted to apprehend the criminal, key word being 'Attempt.' "CANYON CANNON!"
Slamming into the giant villain, was a blue and white clad hero. She stood up and then began to, ahem, flex her figure, and introduced herself. "No need to worry about this, bum. I'm MT. Lady, the world's next hottest hero." Ferno rolled his eyes at the hero bad attempt at a pun. 'Let me see, her giant size makes it hard for a lightsaber to leave major damage depending on the entry point. However, she likely is highly susceptible to lightning, I'll have to revise my assessment but for now I would place her solidly between Kamui and Backdraft.' "Oh, taking notes? Let me guess you're some kind of hero fanboy, aren't ya." Darth Ferno looked at the bystander who glanced at the notebook. He shook his head. "No, not really. I simply take notes to breakdown people's strength and weaknesses."
"Well, do you plan on becoming one?" Ferno shrugged. "Not really, I have much high aspirations to grasp, being a hero is very low tier in my opinion. It is an option though." He turned and began to walk away. 'Odd kid, I hope he's not a villain in hiding.' The bystander turned to look back at the scene.
"Now class I think you should start thinking about your futures. Ah what am I saying, you all wanna be heroes don't you!" The papers the teacher was holder were thrown in the air as the class exploded. They all began to show off their quirks with two notable exceptions.
"Yes, Yes you all have wonderful quirks, but no quirks during class." A snort. "Hey, teach, don't lump me in with these sad sacks." The teacher looked at the top paper on his desk. "Ah, Bakugou, I see you're aiming for UA. With your impressive marks you might make it in."
Hushed whispers began to float around the room, mostly about UA and it's impossible attendance rate. Katsuki quickly shut them all up. "It's the only place worthy of my greatness. I aced the mock exams, so of course I'm destined to get in. Unlike these extras destined for some busted D-lister." Angered cries rang out as the other students took mock offence and began to challenge Bakugou. "I'll take you all on!"
The teacher began to panic seeing how the students were about to break out into a brawl, until his gaze peered on Izuku Midoriya, the Quirkless kid. 'Hello scapegoat.' "Oh, Midoriya, I see you are also planning on going to U.A." And a fog of silence rolled in on the statement.
'3…2…1…' As if predicting the future, Izuku made a mental countdown, and everyone exploded in laughter. "Deku? Go to U.A.? You can't get in on good grades alone." Katsuki looked like he wanted to say something, but began to shiver, either in cold or fear.
Izuku, simply choose to ignore them in favor of writing his quirk notes. First shock, then anger and a brave student took a step forward. Izuku continued to ignore him. POW! Until Izuku was punched in the check by the student. The teacher did witness it but refused to do anything to alleviate the situation.
Although no one could see, Izuku's eyes flashed yellow before he turned his head back, rubbing his cheek. "There's nothing against the rules of me applying, there's no harm in trying at the very least." At this point Katsuki managed to swallow his fear enough to bite back. "Stupid Deku! You really want to embarrass this school so much by failing?"
Ferno mentally snickered. 'That looks like it took a lot out of him to say.' "Why should you care Kaachan? After all I'm merely a pebble on your great path, right oh mighty future Number 1?" Katsuki flinched, paled and turned his head so fast you could almost hear his neck snap.
His injury was hurting more than usual. Damn that All For One! Toshinori Yagi, otherwise known as All Might walked out of the grocery store, grunting, while carrying two bags. This was his weekly purchase for his apartment. After dropping off his food, he needed to get to Nighteye's agency, apparently, he had a potential successor to introduce.
"SOMBODY STOP THAT VILLAIN!" Rushing past him was a, what appeared to be, glob of slime. "This cash is mine suckers!" Another bystander exclaimed out. "Is there anyone who can do anything?"
Toshinori gave out a small chuckle before it turned into a bellow. "Have hope. And have no fear for I am here!" He yelled out as his body expanded One For All filling out his form. The villain turned and showed absolute fear in the presence of the number one hero.
"We're not done Deku. You need to learn your place." Ever since Katsuki started to uncannily fear Izuku, others have stepped up to the plate to teach him a lesson. Too bad they weren't half as intimidating as Darth Alcor or Eraserhead.
The boy who spoke was the same one to lay a hand on Darth Ferno, a mistake. The boy had short brown hair and blue eyes. His quirk, Spontaneous combustion, allowed anything he touched to suddenly catch fire. It was a weaker version of explosion in most cases, both in power and control. Didn't stop him from getting an ego anyways. "Whatcha got there? Notes?" He grabbed the notebook and began to read. "Tch, analyzing hero's again? Looks like you need a reminder."
The notebook caught fire before being thrown out the window. Splash was heard, the notebook likely landing in the fountain. "Let me make this clear Deku, your place is on the ground groveling to your superiors." Izuku, looked bored, he was thinking about what he would do when he got home.
The boy started to walk towards the door as Izuku resumed gathering his things. "You know, if you ever want to stop being so useless, maybe you should pray for a quirk in your next life and take a last chance swan dive off the roof." *Slam* 'Suicide baiting? Oh, when I didn't think you could fall any further. Don't trip.' Izuku walked out the door to hear the bully fall down the stairs.
"When I get to the clearing, should I do Shien, or Djem Sho? I do need to practice more with Form V but the differences in the sub forms make it hard to choose." Darth Ferno mumbled to himself, as he walked under a bridge. The force suddenly rang out with alarm at him. He quickly turned his head in worry. "Some sort of danger detection? Well, doesn't matter, a skin suit is a skin suit after all." Ferno turned his head to the source of the voice, a pile of sludge climbing out of the sewers.
Taking a defensive form, he took a step back. "Sorry kid, but I'm going to need your body. I promise it'll be over quick." 'Fast!' Ferno thought as he side stepped the sludge. "Good reflexes but all you're doing is prolonging the inevitable. Besides, I need to get out of here before he shows up. So hold STILL!" Another attack and another dodge.
Darth Ferno couldn't risk his force powers being discovered, so all he could do was avoid the attacks, and waiting for whoever was chasing the living garbage. And like a prayer answered, hopes turned into reality. *BAM!* "Have no fear citizen, why because I'm here!" Ferno felt both relief and fear. 'I don't know if I should be thankful that All Might is here or worried.' "Texas…" 'Shit!' "SMASSSSSHHHHH!" Before All Might's attack stuck, Ferno ducked down, folding his arms and kneeling in order to make his body as small as possible. Less surface area means less wind to be caught on. The Sludge villain was blow apart before he could even retort.
Ferno looked around at the scattered body of the villain. 'Gross.' "Thank you, young man for distracting the evil do-er." Ferno gave a nod as he helped the hero begin to gather up the villain. A few awkward moments passed before All Might spoke again. "You're a bit of an odd one, usually people would gush about me when in my presence."
Ferno nodded to All Might. "I suppose so, and I can say a small part of me is definitely fan-boing, but I grew out of that phase years ago." Ferno continued gathering sludge, putting the muck inside a two-liter bottle. "How about I sign something for you?"
"Sorry, the only thing I have on me was destroyed by a bully at school, so if I ever meet you again, maybe something else." All Might looked perplexed. "Bullies? Why not report them to a teacher?" The greenette snickered before chuckling. All Might was confused by the unexpected rection. "Who would take the side of a Quirkless Child? It's extremely easy for adults to ignore me because I don't fit some kind of mold, just so they can claim some small kind of fame. There are people in my school that have the best quirks for heroics and the Adults, are willing to sacrifice the Quirkless kid for that."
All Might froze momentarily before grimacing. 'Quirkless? I guess that would explain his lack of excitement of heroics, it likely was beaten out of him.' The dark thoughts he had made him feel guilty, not taking time to help the minority he himself was apart of. Without One For All, he likely would still be in the same position as the kid in front of him. "Well, if I ever do see you again, I'll be sure to give you a proper autograph."
Ferno looked a little conflicted. "Before you leave All Might, I wish to ask you something." All Might perked at this about to respond before a pain stuck him. 'SHIT! Out of time, sorry kid but maybe another time.' "Apologies young man, but I lost track of time, and just remembered I have to be somewhere. Perhaps another time."
All Might prepared to leap, but Ferno's mind was racing. 'A Half-lie? Oh no you don't, you're going to answer my question!' At the moment All Might took off, Darth Ferno, grabbed onto his right leg, holding on tight. All Might in his haste didn't notice until he was already airborne, a few stories above the buildings in the area. 'Something feels off.' All Might thought as he turned his head back. Clinging to his leg was the young man he had saved. "Are you crazy kid, what are you doing? Get off!"
Green eyes made contact with All Might's before moving downwards. "Right, at this height you would die, HOLD ON!" All Might tilted his body down descending on a nearby rooftop. Some blood dribbled out of the corner of his mouth. The greenette let go taking in deep breaths. "That was a very stupid thing to do Young Man, now if you excuse me!"
"Wait!" All Might shook his head. "I will not!" The younger of the two bit back. "Just let me ask my damn question and I'll let you leave. Do you…believe in your own words." That gave All Might pause, he expected a more direct question. "My own words…?" All Might was suddenly struck with pain as he took a knee. 'Not here! Not NOW!'
"All Might? Are you okay?" Ferno could sense the pain coming off of All might in waves, but had no explanation as to why. Smoke bellowed from the Hero's form before encompassing him. Izuku squinted his eyes trying to see, before the smoke thinned out showing a sickly man, wearing All Might's cloths. Shock filled Darth Ferno's face. "What the…?"
"Hey Katsuki?" The blond Pomeranian grunted as he took a few steps forward. "Why did you stop bullying Deku exactly? I never got an answer." Katsuki froze, panic filling his face. He took a deep breath, before responding. "I-I don't honestly know, it's like one day I hate him, the next I f-fear him. Something happened and I don't know why…"
"Maybe Deku has some sort of quirk after all, like passive hypnosis. That could explain it." Katsuki shook his head, as he kicked a two-liter bottle. "No, I don't think so." The other boy that was following Katsuki, proposed something. "Hey why don't we hang out at the arcade, plenty of prey there."
Katsuki turned at him in rage, exploding his soda can. "You idiot, if we get caught, it'll end up on my permanent record!" "S-sor-" "Oh, nice, quirk, I like my skin suits with a little fire power in them."
Izuku's moth gaped like a fish before he forced himself to speak? "All Might? What happened to you?" The tall skinny man spoke to the young Sith Lord. "Most people are usually *BLARGHHH*" Before he could finish his sentence, he threw up blood. Ferno, while not squeamish to blood, flinched from the suddenness. "I'm not most people, but why did you throw up blood?"
All Might sighed, as he rubbed the dripping blood off of his jaw. "I'd rather not say unless needed. Ask your earlier question, I now have plenty of time." Ferno bit his lip, frustrated but decided to go along with the question. He gave a huff. "When I asked you about believing in your own word, you often make the claim that anyone can be a hero, all it takes is hard work, determination, and a courageous spirit. Had I taken a different path in life, and devoted my time to be a hero, could I have been one?"
Darth Ferno never voiced this small part of himself to Darth Alcor. He didn't know what Alcor would to get rid of this but he knew the dangers of letting it slip. "I was afraid you would ask along those lines. Take a look at this." All Might lifted his shirt and Izuku paled at what he saw.
A gruesome wound, dark purple and twisted, embedded in the lanky form of the Number 1. Darth Ferno equated it to some of the wounds many Sith lords of the past subjected their own bodies too. The key difference, is, the wound clearly wasn't self-inflicted, deliberately or otherwise. Somebody did this, someone powerful. As powerful as one of the weaker Sith Lords in history.
It took thousands of years for teachings of the force to grow, but it's only been two hundred years for quirks. This was particularly chilling in Darth Ferno's Mind. "I lost my stomach, about two thirds of my intestines, one of my lungs and 3 quarters of my liver. The surgeries to keep me alive have taken their toll, and now I can only operate for three hours a day." "Who..." All Might gave a weak smile and grunt. "You're quite observant, yes, this was done to me by a villain about five years ago. Before you ask, it's not someone you would know about, I asked the authorities to keep it quiet." At this, All Might lowered his shirt and sat down. "If someone like me, with a quirk as powerful as mine, could be this hurt, how could I, in good conscious say yes one can be a hero without power. I know it's not the thing you wanted to hear, but it's the truth."
All Might got up and began to walk to the door. "If what I heard is correct, then you already have a plan in life, but if you need some alternative, try police work. They get a lot of flak for only receiving villains, but it is a noble position." All Might opened the door and began to descend. 'Now to get you to the police.' He thought as he looked at his empty pocket. '…fuck.'
"Did I ever mention, this is how I started my journey to Sith Emperor."
Alcor laughed as he threw Sidious to the ground. "While I will admit that you're fast, powerful, and have mastered all you have been taught, you still lack creativity. All you do is attack and attack, you never try other tactics like stalling, or deflection."
Sidious's face twisted as he got up. "Why should it matter, no Jedi, other than the current grandmaster can hope to harm me." He was suddenly thrown back by a massive force blast. "WRONG! Any event that leads you into combat, can be used as research, a long con if you will. Even if you eliminate the one attacking, there is no guarantee that someone else isn't watching, and the more predictable you are, the more patterns and habits you will fall into." Alcor turned his head towards the meditating Muun in the room.
"Hey Plagueis, can I borrow you for a second?" The Muun scoffed. "It's lord, but fine." The other Sith Lord stood up and walked towards the others, pulling out his lightsaber. "Now in this instance, Plagueis is an opponent that has studied your habits and movements, using others to test you, before confronting you. I will be providing the role of support. Well sort of. Both of you draw your weapons and remain apart until I say go."
They both nodded, although Sidious' looked more hesitant. Alcor jumped back, blue lightning sparking from his hands. He slams down said hands, and ten beams of light leave his fingers. The beams split apart and reconnect forming a grid, while two circles are made surround the two Banite Sith. "What is this!?" Sidious exclaimed, either from shock or anger.
"Lightning in another form of plasma, and like our lightsabers, it can be shaped. I simply turned that plasma into a grid field that forces combatants to spar more in the air than on the ground. Touch one of the lines, and you're in for a very nasty shock. It requires you to be both situational and observant. And if you look closely, the grid is so tight that at best you can only keep one foot down at a time." A dark smirk filled the Muun's face. "Where were you hiding this Lord Alcor, I could have been a much more effective teacher to Sidious here."
"Heh, you never asked. Annnnndddddd GO!"
I want to be clear. Darth Ferno is not a good guy. He's not morally grey, he's just confused about his life. While he will have a few redeeming features but in general will be an Anti-Hero, like Michael from GTA V. That doesn't mean he isn't capable of good, but he is more self-inclined.
