I released a book. Financial Advice from a Basement Gremlin, By Avraham Cox, on Amazon. It's not a fictional book, so I'd doubt you'd really care. Although I do plan on hammering out my Isekai Novel and my Sci-fi/Horror book. I'm thinking a Politican's New World for Isekai and The Facility for the Sci-Horror book.
Right now as I'm writing, I'm watching the serial killer files by Rob Gavagan. Is that weird?
MrMatesuz: Perhaps, but unlike Voldemort, the Holocrons don't split his soul in half nor do they tether him to the living realm. If Flesh and Blood Alcor manages to get himself killed, he's dead. A piece of him could come back though his Holocrons, but the main portion and power is gone. Along with experience and memories. Alcor does not share info in real time with his fragments. A basic countermeasure to make sure his fragments can't be used to track him down by an untrained and rogue apprentice when he doesn't want to be. He can sense where the Holocrons are and what states they are in, but they cannot do the same to him.
Don Cheeto: Hehe…wait until you see what I have planned for the various Sith lords throughout history.
Keybladelight: Not for a good while unfortunately. You're going to be in for a wait.
OrigDayday: Oh I promise you Darth Ferno is very relevant in universe. What you are seeing is events happening at the same time elsewhere, so to inform the audience. That way characters have to learn what happened as time progresses.
Kingkong101: First, how do you know that he's only a throwaway? You certainly don't know what I have planned. Second, when I pivot to other characters, I'm doing some background growth. There are authors and writers that prefer first person perspectives, third person, or a mix. I'm part of the mixed category.
The all powerful Machine: No.
Darth Ferno looked at the imposing gate. After many years, he was now entering the hero high school once again. He looked at his student badge which had him in his uniform looking at the camera calmly. With this, he could practically come and go as he pleased. But only one of him.
He wasn't a fool. He knew there were sensors that both detected and logged ID cards, whether they were student, faculty, or guest. That meant he couldn't create his blood clones to do things for him while in the building as Nedzu would pick up on any discrepancies his sensor would have. And if his card left the property, but he was still on the cameras indoors, questions would be asked. So, his best system would be to make blood clones outside UA whenever he could feasibly, either during outings in the day or right before school, all the while his real body went to do something else. An alibi if the question of who Darth Ferno was ever came up. Of course, the question of how much blood he would be losing was up for debate, but he found that only using a fraction of the blood necessary translated to a fraction of equivalent time. So at least he wouldn't loose too much blood if he only used a quarter of a cup a day.
Of course, it was mostly a moot point as UA was not a boarding school, but it never hurt to be careful. He stepped through the gate, taking in all the other students. Some were freaking out or trying to restrain themselves, clearly, they were first years, while the rest looked calm and collected, second and third years respectively.
He entered the building and began to trek to the first floor of the Hero Class pillar. UA was separated into four pillars for the four main courses, and the bridges between them served as other amenities, like the library, the nurse's office, the teacher's lounge and workspace, general counseling, and the office of the principal. School meals were held in a large cafeteria in the old building that was now acting as the support base for the four pillars. Maybe a cleverly disguised lesson on how all education, no matter what kind is built on healthy eating habits? The Sith wouldn't put it past the mustelid principal.
As Ferno left the Hero wing stairwell, he heard a voice call out to him.
"Izuku!"
Ferno turned to look at the owner of the voice, Ochako Uraraka. "Oh, hello Ochako. Fancy running into you here."
She was panting a bit. Maybe she thought she would be late, so she booked it? Doesn't really matter. "I'm so glad we both got in! I saw your score! It was so cool!" Were there stars in her eyes, or were his just playing tricks?
"You went boom, and smash, and hyaa!" The movements that she was making while retelling what she saw looked somewhat adorable to the Sith Lord.
Ferno briefly froze. 'Uhhhhh, what?' Okay, figure out where that came from later. If they delayed any longer, he feared being late the first day.
"Maybe we should head to class before we are both late?" That snapped Uraraka out of her personal funk.
"Oh right. Class 1-A here I come!" That second part was muted, almost like she hadn't meant to speak it out loud.
"Class 1-A? What luck, I'm going there too."
"R-Really?"
"Yeah." They both walked down the hallways to see the large letters of 1-A above their door. It was…massive, the door to be exact.
"That's, big." Muttered Uraraka.
"It's likely to accommodate anyone with a mutation quirk that makes them three times taller than the average human. I did see a few people who fit that bill a few times in my life."
"Ohhh."
"Shall we go in?" At that moment a loud voice rang out from inside.
"GET YOUR FEET OFF THAT DESK!"
Darth Ferno could recognize that voice. It was the tall teen with engine legs from before. Great, certainly this isn't foreshadowing a rough high school career. Without a second thought he opened the door for both of them in the hallway.
"HOW DARE YOU DISRESPECT UA PROPERTY LIKE THAT! THINK OF HOW MANY HEREOS CAME BEFORE YOU!" Iida Tenya, the glasses wearing speedster was yelling at Katsuki Bakugo while chopping his hand.
"Oh yeah?" Katsuki questioned, "What school did you go to, to shove a stick that large up your ass?"
"H-HOW VULGUR! Such words are not to be tolerated at a prestigious academy like UA."
"Tch, don't care."
"Perhaps we got off on a bad start. I am Tenya Iida, from Soumei Private Academy."
"Soumei huh? A rich elitist, are you? Here's a piece of advice, stay the fuck out of my way glasses." Katsuki bit out.
"How rude! Are you sure you're trying to be a hero?" Iida said, causing Darth Ferno to snort.
"Ummm, Hi?" Uraraka weakly called out from the entrance. That immediately turned both of the boys attention towards her and Ferno.
'It's him…' Iida thought as Katsuki momentarily froze before looking away from the pair at the door way. Before anybody could stop him, Iida already crossed the classroom and stood in front of Ferno and Uraraka.
"Hello! My name is Tenya Iida, I went to Soumei-" Darth Ferno interrupted Iida mid introduction.
"Yeah, I heard you already. Hard not to when your yelling can wake the dead."
"Well, attitude aside, I think it is quite inspiring to have such an intelligent individual as my classmate."
Ferno titled his head in confusion. "What are you talking about?"
"Well, clearly you understood the hidden message of the exam, did you not? Hero points?"
The Sith shook his head. "You'd be mistaken. I was suspicious of Present Mic's wording, but I wasn't certain. Had I chosen not to assist Miss Uraraka, I would have gotten in on villain points alone."
Iida looked conflicted but continued on nevertheless. "Well, regardless, that only further proves your ability to be a hero!"
Before Darth Ferno could respond he suddenly sensed somebody and snapped up before turning his head at the floor. There on the ground was a man with shaggy hair in a yellow sleeping bag sucking on a pouch. He did what any self-respecting Sith would do when caught off guard. He kicked him. Or at least attempted to. The cocoon rolled out of the foot's trajectory last second.
"Well, at least you have good awareness of your surroundings. Not even a second lost. Very rational." The man in the sleeping bag got up, and unzipped his sleeping gear. "All of you get to your seats, now."
All of the students that weren't at their desks scrambled for a moment before everyone sat at attention. "Aside from Midoriya, the rest of you were both unaware of and slow to react to my presence. Time is a valuable commodity and every second wasted is a second lost. Not rational at all. I am your homeroom teacher, Shota Aizawa."
The teacher pulled out a copy of the Gym Uniform from his sleeping bag. "All of you will find these in your designated changing room lockers, put them on and meet me outside in five minutes." He then promptly left the classroom.
Darth Ferno felt the urge to slam his head against the wall. 'Wonderful, the one hero I wanted to avoid the most is my homeroom teacher. Well, Alcor did say the life of a Sith was one filled with pain and suffering.'
Darth Ferno was one of the first to get outside, his prior experience of quickly changing clothing during his nightly escapades coming in handy. Already waiting was a dual color hair boy and a girl with aux cords for earlobes. It was only a minute later that the rest began to shuffle out, all the students wearing uniforms that fit perfectly. UA probably got the measurements from when they submitted their sizes for hero costumes.
Their homeroom teacher silenced the chatter. "Only three of you were able to get out here in under 5 minutes. That's unacceptable. Heroes must always be ready in a minute's time. Should you pass my test, we'll work on that."
At this point, one of the female students, Momo Yaoyorozu, spoke up. "Sir, what about orientation?"
Aizawa slowly turned his head towards the student in question. He kept his tired eyes on her only for a second before replying. "UA has an independent teaching style. I choose to forgo all those frivolous activities. If you need to know anything in particular, it'll be found in the student handbook in your desks."
He then turned to the resident explosion expert. "Katsuki Bakugo, you achieved the highest total villain points this year. Here." He tossed a softball at the sometimes-fellow red eyed, teen. "Stand in the circle,' of which Katsuki did, "What was your best softball throw in Junior High?"
"Bout seventy meters."
"Do it again, but use your quirk this time."
Katsuki pulled his arm back before letting loose a massive explosion that sent the ball flying. "DIE!"
A couple of the students muttered about the off-putting words while Aizawa turned his phone like device towards the class. "720.6 meters."
The students all called out praise saying how impressive it was. Until one voice managed to make itself project further than the rest. "You mean we get to use our quirks? This is going to be fun!"
Aizawa, just waiting for that que, grinned something sinister. "Oh? Fun you say? Well, you know what else would be fun? If we up the stakes. Last place in the rankings gets expelled."
"WHAT!? That's not fair!"
"So, you think world is fair? Are natural disasters fair? Is being born in the wrong body fair? Get over yourselves, the moment you lot stepped foot on this campus your world stopped being any kinds of fair." He pointed at a starting line. "I'm going to call out your names in pairs of two. Line up and when I say go, run."
Darth Ferno watched the various teenagers go through the exercises. Some of them were bound to have incredible powers. He took notes on various quirks that interested him. That girl with the earlobes wouldn't do well in combat, but her hearing would be unbeatable. He'll have to keep an eye on that one. Same goes for the invisible girl. If she ever tries to vanish completely, he'll have to keep his ability to sense people tuned so she doesn't ever get the drop on him.
He then saw an opening. A bit of petty revenge. Tenya Iida had lined up for the 50-meter dash. Darth Ferno kept his eyes on the engine quirk user, more specifically his legs. The moment Aizawa shouted for them to go, Izuku tugged on Iida's left leg using the force. The result was as expected, the speedster slamming into the ground face first, which was enhanced by the fact that Iida's quirk was active. That ended up dragging his face across a few feet before he remembered to turn off his quirk. When he stood up, one of his lenses was broken, and his face was red with either shame or friction burns.
Iida raised his hand. "Sir can I…" He couldn't finish as Aizawa interrupted him.
"No do-overs. Now run. Your opponent is already at the finish line." Iida finished at 16 seconds, an embarrassment for anyone with a speed quirk.
"Now, Izuku Midoriya and Katsuki Bakugo?" Aizawa called out, both Ferno and Bakugo approaching the line. The explosion user tried to meet Ferno's green eyes, but flinched away the moment the eyes in question sharpened. "GO!" At that moment, Ferno pushed eight percent of One for All into his body and went flying. While Katsuki might have an initial boost, the Sith was much faster, and Izuku finished roughly half a second earlier that Katsuki.
Darth Ferno didn't need to look at Katsuki to know he was pissed. But his fear prevented him from confronting the green haired Sith lord. Oh, well. They both lined back up as the remainder of the class ran. There were some interesting quirks, but none of them were that exciting. Aside from the living shadow and the girl who could create anything. It's a shame that the girl seemed to be quite determined to be a hero, if the casual surface thoughts were anything to go by. 'I wonder if quirks can be cloned?' Eh, it was something to think about later.
Once everyone was done, the class moved on to single hand grip tests. Aside from the multi-armed figure, whose score was 550 kg, and the creation girl, who made a device to break the tester, the scores weren't all that impressive for superpowered children. Darth Ferno scored about 74 kg. Other such tests were also similarly disappointing. Usually only two or three people would stand out in a test, while the rest would be average at best. Or in the midget's case, barely capable. He did use his quirk effectively in the side steps at least.
In the endurance test, it ended up being between Ferno and the girl known as Yaoyorozu. It was essentially, Ferno's body, vs her scooter. The ice user had to tap out a few minutes earlier due to the limits of his own body. But in the end, her scooter lasted longer, as the Sith ran out of steam seven minutes before the vehicle ran out of battery. It was impressive, especially to the others who didn't know that Darth Ferno had been building endurance in his body since he was five, unable to do real strength training until he hit puberty.
It was finally the ball throw. Out for the few scores before Ferno went, only Ochako's and the Creation Girl's were the stand outs, about 2 km for the latter and infinity for the former.
"Izuku Midoriya." Darth Ferno walked into the circle where he was tossed a ball. "Do whatever it takes, just don't leave the circle." Aizawa said, getting a nod from the Sith.
The one for all user began to pull about 15 percent of his quirk and channeled it across his body. He then added a little extra power to his throwing arm, and silently commanded the force to push against the ball as he threw. He didn't even notice the quirk suddenly shut off until it was too late. He immediately turned to his teacher, the pro hero's eyes glowing red and hair floating upwards.
"Are you holding back? Because I saw you at the entrance exam. You blew that zero pointer down with a single blow." The teacher's red eyes bored into Izuku, who was unfazed by the weak glare. He calmly met his teacher's eyes.
"You harass me for not using all available power, but I have the distinct feeling that you would have done so regardless if I had broken something after using more. So, what exactly am I to expect? A teacher who demands more than my body can take and endanger my own health, or a teacher who prioritizes knowing your limits and not pushing past them unless life or death." The stare kept up for a solid half-minute, neither blinking. "What is your answer Eraserhead?"
The momentary shock at this student knowing who he was caused the underground hero to blink, letting his hair fall and quirk to deactivate. "How do you know who I am?"
The green haired Sith Lord tilted his head. "You'll have to forgive me, but I've had a fascination with heroics for as long as I could remember. The only heroes I don't know about are most obscure or the lowest ranked ones. And if the underground had a ranking system, you would easily be top three."
Aizawa grabbed another ball before tossing it to the secretly dark teenager. "For your earlier question, I would prefer students who know their limits and are capable of keeping themselves alive. Go again, I won't stop your quirk."
Izuku threw again, landing at 1.21 km away. He took a dramatic bow at his teacher before rejoining the line. The rest of the tests were pretty uneventful, and when it came time for the final rankings, the Sith had landed on second place, right after the girl that was now know as Momo Yaoyorozu. Right after him was the dual toned boy, Shoto Todoroki, and below him was Katsuki. The lowest level was the midget with grapes on his head. Who immediately fell to the ground crying.
"PLEASE! I JUST GOT HERE! DON'T KICK ME OUT!" The small teen screamed out.
Aizawa rolled his eyes before counting mentally to ten seconds. "Minoru Mineta. I won't expel you. Yet. Instead, here is what we are going to do. You will be put under provision. Shape yourself up, and if you improve to a significant degree by the sports festival, then I'll let you stay in the class. The only reason why I'm not expelling you is simply because under that hair of yours is a mind of ingenuity that needs to be, motivated. Report to the Principal's Office."
The other students began to whisper amongst themselves, Yaoyorozu looking the most shocked as she muttered, "But I was certain it was a ruse."
He turned to all the rest of them as Mineta ran off still sobbing. "Alright, I want you all to head back to change, head back to class, read your student handbooks, and then do a little bit of exploration of the campus. Don't leave the property until the end of day. The sensors will know."
The students could only blink.
"What, was, that?" A thin skeleton with baggy clothes said to a tired human with shaggy clothes, while in the teacher lounge.
"That was me seeing how far Midoriya can take the heat and not drop out. My job is to make sure they stay alive, I can't do that it one of them doesn't know when to hold back at all." Aizawa bit back, not even bothering to look up from his desk.
"I told you Young Midoriya understood his limit and not to go beyond unless necessary." All Might practically growled out.
"And I don't trust a bumbling idiot like you All Might." The response was so uncaring that All Might wanted to grab the underground pro and throw him out the window. But he refrained. It would do him no go to get dismissed before he could train his successor as much as possible.
Prior to this conversation, All Might thought about telling Eraser about One for All, but from his clear distaste of Izuku, it wasn't going to work out, opting to keep him in the dark. Yagi had hoped he wouldn't need to call in his old mentor for advice, but it's clear his coworker was making him do just that.
But first, a trip to Nedzu to discuss potential plans.
For most of the remaining time that day, Darth Ferno and Ochako Uraraka hung out exploring the school. Mostly because Ochkao didn't really know anybody else to hang out with as she had only just met them. Right as they were passing by the first year support wing, the doors suddenly blew off their hinges and smoke began to bellow out of the room. A few students walked out of the room, waving the smoke out of their faces.
"How did she manage to blow things up a third time, on the first day, when we don't even start building for a couple more days?" One asked.
"Don't know, but Powerloader-Sensei might just have her head if she keeps this up. Let's go get some water and a breath of fresh air." A second said, with the others following.
Ferno raised an eyebrow. "Hold on Ochako, I want to see what's going on."
She nodded her head, as Ferno waited for the smoke to thin before poking his head in the class. Over by a destroyed work desk, was a head of pink hair being chewed out by Powerloader. Although if the fact that Mei was scribbling something down on a small notebook was any indication, she wasn't listening. He then withdrew his head. He needed to figure out a way to introduce himself to her without rousing the suspicion that they met before, and he might just have it.
"Hey, Ochako," He said getting her attention, "Why don't you go on ahead, this looks pretty interesting."
"Actually, could I stay, I really don't have much else to do." She said, rubbing her shoulder. Izuku shrugged.
"Sure, but it's going to be boring." He said as he walked into the classroom, pulling out a journal and flipping to a specific page. He silently made his way to behind Powerloader, before tapping him on the shoulder.
The pro seemed to jolt from the silent approach, and he turned around and looked that the short green haired teen. He then began to channel his more nerdy side, adding a bit of emotion to his voice. "Uh, Mr. Powerloader sir, do you think you could sign this?" In his hands was the open journal turned to a page that had the sketch of Powerloader and a few basic facts written in Sith. If anyone asked, he would simply say it was written in a symbol code.
"Uhhhh, sure." The pro seemed a bit hesitant, but pulled out a pen and put his name under his sketch. "You're not one of my students, so what are you doing here?"
Darth Ferno looked abashed. "Sorry, both of us are first year hero students, and we were let go to explore for the rest of the day."
"Ah, say no more, Eraser certainly does do that. So, who'd he expel?" Powerloader asked.
Ochako let out a weak chuckle. "Well, it's not like Mineta was actually expelled from UA, just put probation of sorts. He has until the Sports Festival to show improvement."
Powerloader hummed. "Huh, he never did that before. Guess nobody wins the bet."
Ochako looked confused. "Bet?"
Powerloader chuckles, "Yeah, all the teachers, save for Nedzu, bet on how many students will be expelled, and how many will be re-enrolled. He often pulls a trick where he expels somebody only to re-enroll them a week later, but sometimes certain students just aren't cut out for his classes. And if you're worried about their records, don't be, Principal Nedzu sends promising students to Ketsubutsu for less intensive schooling and training."
While Powerloader and Ochako were talking, Darth Ferno pretended to introduce himself to Mei, who stuck to the script and acted half oblivious to things while drawing up new schematics in her personal booklet. And then he said the magic words. "Perhaps, at a later date, you can help me with managing my gear?"
Mei looked up with a mad twinkle in her eye. "Oh, you need my servicing abilities? Well, whatever baby-making needs you require are yours should you ask."
Darth Ferno publicly looked confused. "Uh, what?" And in the background, Ochako had gone red in the face and Powerloader groaned.
"Why do you keep calling your inventions that, Hatsume?" Powerloader asked, exasperated.
"Because they are! They are my babies and they deserve the title!" Mei yelled out, big grin on her face. She then immediately turned to Darth Ferno. "Meet me at the front gates after the day and we can go over new baby ideas!" She grinned.
"Um, Okay?" Darth Ferno said, sounding hesitant.
Mei immediately went back to her booklet and once again began to ignore Powerloader who picked up where he left off when he was interrupted. Ferno shook his head before turning around and Ochako followed after him. They both spent the rest of the school day, munching on some snack food in the cafeteria.
Darth Ferno, decked out in full regalia, kneeled at his master. He recounted the day, leaving out Ochako Uraraka and the feelings she gave him, and waited for his Sith Master to respond.
Over in the corner, Mei was soldering some things together, trying to build her first fully sentient droid. Previous droids she made all had no personality or verbal communication ability and were more so drones.
Darth Alcor hummed. "Your idea with cloning quirks is a viable one. In the greater galaxy, there are some organizations and even species that specialize in genetic duplication and modification. However, the snag is that quirk genetics are far more volatile than I first thought, if my research has shown. If you want to go through with this, you'll have to find a quirk geneticist to cut down the time it will take to learn about these genetic idiosyncrasies and their very steep learning curve. But, if you see an opportunity to collect genetic samples in the future, don't hesitate to do so. I have enough knowledge to safely store samples long term, even for decades. Just get it to me within a few hours to prevent any cellular death."
Alcor moved over to Mei, pointing out where she made a mistake in the voice box. She growled a little but did not verbally complain. All the while, Darth Ferno, got into a meditation form and tried to work out those feelings a certain girl with a gravity quirk were giving him.
Aizawa needed to leave soon. It was a rare night where he wasn't on patrol, and needed the sleep, but he couldn't move from his desk. He had been stuck looking at one student's file in particular. A student that went twice on the ball throw. But he couldn't understand. Was the equipment faulty? No, the other stores were all within the margin of error for the tools. And yet, he simply couldn't rational a way past. He hated that.
'How on earth did somebody with no access to their quirk throw a ball 173 meters?' It solidly beat the non-quirked world record. And there was that feeling anytime he cross eyes with Midoriya. That feeling of doom.
Yay chapter 21 is finally done. Before you say anything Aizawa Stans, I personally view Aizawa as a terrible choice for a teacher. A great hero, yes, as a decent father, perhaps, but not a teacher. He does not have the patience to watch a class and is constantly grumpy like elderly teachers that only have a year left of work.
Oh, I'm also going to go to full time college eventually. My goal is to get into the Tech School of my state and learn some electrical engineering. I just need to get a three credit math course out of the way as I don't have the four years of math needed to get in. And an AWD car. It snows quit a bit during winter over there. Currently, I'm aiming for a used 2013 Subaru Outback or Legacy with eyesight. After driving my Father's 2016 Honda with driver assistance, I now view such tech as a necessity.
