Jenkins was startled by the name and ordered Cassandra to go get some water. He pulled the fainted woman into his arms as Cassandra left. For a moment he looked at her face, but he couldn't place her. It was strange for someone like him to hear a nickname of his original name to come from the mouth of some unknown woman. Cassandra came back in with a glass of water and kneeled with them. Jenkins tapped the woman's cheek.
"Come on and wake up," Jenkin said.
A moan answered him, and her eyes began to move. He took the glass from Cassandra and set it on the woman's lips. He tipped the glass, and she took a sip. She opened her eyes as the glass was pulled away. Her eyes met his and she freaked, pushing him away.
"What the hell is going on here?!" Amber cried.
Amber pushed herself up from the floor away from the two. She looked back at them.
"How in the hell are you even here?!"
Jenkins wasn't sure how to answer that. His eyebrows raised as he tugged at his tie.
"I'm sure I don't know what you mean," Jenkins replied. "You seem to know me, but I don't know you."
"What?" Amber was thrown by what he said. He didn't know her?
"You don't recognize me?" She asked incredulously.
Jenkins shook his head as Cassandra watched the two. Amber let out a gasp. She wasn't sure how to process this new information. Jenkins took a few steps towards her and she put her hands up.
"Don't come near me! Don't even try," she reacted, her voice high and panicky.
Jenkins stopped only a few steps away from her, his hands up in the air as if he was going to surrender.
"Okay," Jenkins said as he looked at her. "Let's take a moment. Cassandra, do you have this letter?"
Cassandra handed it to him, and he read it. His eyebrow rose.
"I did not send this letter to you, Miss?" Jenkins asked.
"It's Amber Wright," she said as she put her hands down. "You don't even remember my name?"
Jenkins didn't reply as he had no answer for her. Cassandra looked at her and then to Jenkins. As a bystander to the conversation, she was lost. Jenkins looked at Cassandra and shook his shoulder. He truly didn't know who this woman was. Once Amber realized the implications of his lack of memory, she nearly burst into tears. She had spent 10 years of her life looking for this man and he didn't remember. A pinprick of pain began at the base of her skull. She groaned as she knew what was about to come.
"Okay," Amber started. "I've spent years waiting for something to happen and it finally did. That letter practically fell into my lap and I answered it hoping it would give me answers that I've been looking for a very long time. And now…"
She looked away from them for a moment, unsure how to explain this unnatural phenomenon that was about to happen.
"I don't know how to explain what's going to happen in a minute but I really nee-AHH!" Amber screeched at the end, grabbing her head as blinding white pain hit her.
Jenkins and Cassandra both jumped startled and headed towards Amber as she fell to her knees. Amber bent over, her head practically touching the ground. She moaned in intense pain as images flashed by in her mind. She barely felt hands touching her. Her right hand came out shaking.
"Pen…Paper! Please!"
Cassandra scrambled up from the floor as quickly as she could. Jenkins stayed beside Amber unsure what to do. His knowledge of thousands of years couldn't prepare him for this. Cassandra came back with paper and a pen. As soon as Amber felt the pen in her hand, she pulled it down toward paper and began speed drawing. In 30 seconds, Amber had a full page of drawings.
The pain faded as she spoke, "Danger….he needs help."
