While Amber cried outside of the Annex, Jenkins was left alone in the room. He pondered the evens in the last hour which left him confused. He'd remember a woman like her. He wondered how a woman knew his true name. Gally, she had called him. He needed answers and only she had them. He decided then to follow her.

He walked out of the room and passed Cassandra and Jacob coming back from their space. He could tell they had questions but so did he. He passed all the glass windows and through the dark hallway until he reached the door. He reached it just as it closed. The second it did, he heard cries. Unexpectedly, his heart clenched. He hesitated, confused again to why his heart responded that way.

He opened the door and stepped out. As he looked around, he didn't see her. Only a purple car. He had to assume it was hers. Then he heard it. He turned towards the sound and followed it to find her crying on the ground against the wall. Her head was down in her lap and hadn't noticed him. He stood for a second unsure what to do. He pulled a handkerchief from his suit pocket. He bent down and let the fabric brush against her hand. Her cries softened in sound, and she looked up.

Her tear-streaked face touched him, and he sat down next to her. She wiped her face with the cloth.

"Why'd you come out here?"

Jenkins sighed softly, "Honestly, I don't know."

Amber let out a soft laugh, "I don't even know why I even came out here. When that letter came…I thought I…I don't know."

"I didn't send the letter. The Library did," he said. "It must have thought you were needed here. Although I'm not sure why you were to meet me. We've got enough Librarians as it is."

"You don't communicate with it?"

Jenkins shook his head, "It doesn't speak if that's what you're asking. The Library is a mystery even to me. I have studied it for so long that I still don't always have the answers."

"How long have you been here?" Amber asked.

He looked at her, "Too long."

"That doesn't even answer my question. I know you've been here for a long time but how long is a long time?"

He shook his head, "I'm not going to answer that."

Amber rolled her eyes at his response. She looked away from him.

"You called me 'Gally,'" Jenkins said. "No-one's ever called me that."

Amber looked down, "Honestly, what's the point of even explaining that one when you don't even know me. Not anymore at least."

"Do you actually know me, or do I just look like someone you once knew?" Jenkins asked, needing an explanation.

Amber turned her head sharply at him, "I know you." She stood up, threw the cloth into his lap. Her shadow encompassed him.

"I loved you."
