Jenkins was thrown back at her declaration as she walked away towards her car. Suddenly a rise of anger rose out of nowhere. He got up, swiped himself down, fixed his suit and tie, and followed her.

"What in the hell do you mean you loved me?" Jenkins demanded.

"Exactly what it means! I loved you." She responded.

Before she had the chance to get to her car, Jenkins grabbed her by the arm and pulled her to him. She pushed him back, but he continued to have a hold on her.

"How can you love someone you don't know?" Jenkins asked, leaning down, towering over her.

"I know who you are, Galahad!"

Jenkins paled, dropping her arm. He took a step back from her. She blew up at him.

"I've loved you since the day you walked into that classroom and every day since then. When you told me who you really were, I loved you even more. To even know that the Knights of the Round Table was real blew my mind. I still loved you even when you left me for dead!"

Amber stopped herself before she continued. She already revealed too much of herself. She turned away from him, her back to him. Jenkins stood there stunned. Silence stretched between them. A voice called out from behind Jenkins, saving them from the silence.

"Jenkins?"

He turned to see a blonde-haired woman step out from the door.

"Yes Colonel?"

"Is everything okay? Cassandra said we had a guest?" Colonel Eve Baird asked.

"Yes. Yes. We'll be there in a moment," Jenkins replied.

The colonel nodded and went back inside. Jenkins turned back to Amber, her back to him still. He took a chance. He stepped closer to her and stood at her side, turned to her.

"I don't know what's going on here. I don't know why the Library chose you to come see me. But if you're willing, I'd like you to come back inside with me and we can get things figured out."

Amber looked at him and nodded. Jenkins sighed. He turned and Amber followed. He led the way back into the inner room of the Annex where Cassandra, Jacob, Eve, and two other men were waiting for them.

"Ah Jenkins, there you are," Flynn Carson said as he rounded the table. "Cassandra called us and said we had a special guest."

Flynn came up to Amber and shook her hand. "I'm Flynn, the Librarian of the Library. She also said you got a letter as well?"

"Amber. Yeah, I did. I don't have it on me though."

"I got it," Jenkins replied. He pulled out the letter from inside his jacket and handed it to Flynn who took it and immediately began perusing it.

Eve approached them and shook her hand, "I'm Eve. I'm the Guardian here." She pointed to the others. "You already met Cassandra. That's Jacob and Jones."

The three waved at her and Amber nodded.

"I suppose I should be thanking you as well. You apparently saved Jacob's life," Eve said.

"Oh," Amber said, heat rising to her cheeks. "I didn't…that was Jenkins. I-I didn't.." She stuttered through her words, embarrassed.

Jenkins chimed in, "You did. You had the vision and without that, we wouldn't have known. These young librarians are rarely on their own nowadays and you helped."

Amber didn't have any words, so she just nodded.

Flynn finished perusing the letter and handed it to Amber. "I don't see why the Library would feel the need to add in another Librarian when the four of us is more than enough."

"I don't believe so, Sir." Jenkins corrected him. "I believe she's here for another reason."

"So if she wasn't chosen to be a Librarian , then what?" Ezekiel Jones asked.

"That's what I'm here to find out," Jenkins replied. He turned to Cassandra. "Cassandra, would you please take her to a room? She can stay here in the meantime."

Cassandra nodded and came up to Amber to take her hand. She led her away from the room. Once the girls left, Flynn came up closer to Jenkins.

"Are you okay, Jenkins?" Flynn asked. "Baird told me it was a bit heated out there."

"I'm fine, Sir. I'm just going to go do some research," Jenkins replied before he moved away towards the stairs to be alone.

The four left behind looked at each other. They were unsure of what was going to happen in the near future.
