Jenkins was in the middle of reading a book about memories when Flynn and the others came back through the door. He looked up just as the doors closed.

"Amber was right," Flynn said. "The necklace was the artifact."

Flynn held up the necklace. It was black obsidian with a silver chain. "It causes the wearer pain when it's put on. Turns out the boy's stepfather had it and when he wanted to punish him, he'd set it on him."

Jenkins closed his book and went over to take the necklace, "That's terrible. Cassandra, would you be a dear and go put this in the appropriate place? I will catalogue it later."

Cassandra nodded and took it from Jenkins carefully. Jones and Jacob followed her out of the room leaving Flynn, Eve, and Jenkins behind. Jenkins turned to Flynn.

"Mr. Carson would you be able to help me with a question I have?"

Flynn was confused but nodded. Eve looked between them.

"Do you want me to leave?" Eve asked.

Jenkins shook his head, "No, it's alright. You should know this as the Guardian."

"What's going on?" Flynn asked, his curiosity piqued.

Jenkins sighed and went over to the table. He still held the book but laid it on the table. He laid his hand upon it. Jenkins began telling him everything he had learned about Amber. He watched as their faces contorted into amazement and shock. It would have been hilarious if it wasn't for the seriousness of the tale he told.

"Wait. You're telling me that this woman is in her 70's?!" Flynn exclaimed. "And she knows you? She knows you're Galahad?!"

"Yes, Mr. Carson," Jenkins replied, a little exasperated with Flynn. He hadn't even gotten to the part that confounded the hell out of him. "I'm not finished."

Flynn looked at him, "There's more?"

Jenkins nodded and took a deep breath, "Apparently we have known each other for six months."

"What?!" Both Eve and Flynn exclaimed at the same time.

"How?" Flynn asked. "you said you didn't know her. How can you know her but not know her at the same time?"

"I think the bigger question is why do I not know her?" Jenkins said.

Eve chimed in, "How can we know she's telling the truth?"

"I thought about that. I thought maybe it was some ruse to gain entry into the Library. But it's hard to fake a letter like that. I believe she's telling the truth. And that the problem lies with me."

Flynn was silent, too amazed to even say anything. Eve was thinking. Jenkins watched them as their thoughts processed.

"So you believe she's telling the truth and that you're the one that's…I don't even know what to say," Flynn said.

Jenkins let out a soft chuckle. He picked up the book and handed it to Flynn.

"My question to you, Mr. Carson, is what do you know of memories? Specifically lost memories?" He asked Flynn.

Flynn thought for a moment, "I mean, I know what we all know. Memories of the past and such. But lost memories? Do you think you have lost memories?"

"Six months is a long time to be away from the Library, and you know I don't leave this place. And again, I believe she's telling the truth. At some point in 1972, I left the Library for six months and who knows for how much longer. I even thought about what artifact could cause lost memories," Jenkins said.

Flynn looked from Eve to Jenkins. A thought hit him. "Well…there isn't an artifact that causes someone to lose memories. But there is one that does take away memories and store it."

"I'm sorry? You have something like that here?" Eve asked surprised.

"I read about it. Let me find the book," Flynn said in reply as he went around the table and towards the books. He rummaged through.

Eve looked at Jenkins, "How do you feel about all this?"

Jenkins looked down, "I don't know what to feel honestly."

"Found it!" Both Eve and Jenkins looked towards Flynn as he headed their way with a big book.

He opened the book and found the page he was looking for. He read from it, "The Memory Storer." He looked up. "That's not a clever name for such an object. But it says that if a person wanted to forget something they could use this object to take it away out of their mind. It is stored should the person ever want to retrieve it."

"Could you have used it on yourself?" Eve asked.

"Oh god no. I would never do such a thing," Jenkins retorted.

Flynn looked at him, "But you could have. Think about it Jenkins, you were with a woman for six months and you don't even know what happened during that time. You could've had a falling out and wanted to forget her. Something happened."

Jenkins was quiet. He really didn't think he would use this artifact on himself. He doesn't use artifacts, he researches them, experiments with them to use to help the world. He couldn't be that selfish.

Eve went over to Jenkins's side and touched his arm, "I think you need to find out."

Jenkins looked at her and patted her hand. "I agree. Let's find this artifact."

Flynn read more about the object, "Hold on. There's more. In order to retrieve the stored memory, you need the very thing that you forgot."

Jenkins raised an eyebrow, "so in order for me to get back six months' worth of memories, I need to have Amber with me?"

Flynn nodded and closed the book, "Looks like it."

"Great," Jenkins replied, hand over his face.

"Flynn, let's go look for this while Jenkins stays here." Eve said. She looked at Jenkins, "We'll find it."

Jenkins didn't reply as the two left the room. He had hoped to figure this out on his own. He didn't want to drag Amber through what might be painful memories. He needed to go talk to her and see if she would be willing to join him on this journey.
