Chapter 27: Special Operation

"Team 8 has arrived sir!" Sansa reported to the commissioner, "Send them in!" Kenji ordered gruffly.

The team of 3 entered the room to find the commissioner, Hisashi, Tsukauchi, Shikamaru and Minato already gathered, "You requested us?" The man in the long trench coat asked.

The commissioner nodded and signaled them to take a seat, "This is Hisashi Midoriya. I am sure you have heard of him?"

Two of the team members nodded while the third one gawked, "THE Hisashi Midoriya? No way!" The man exclaimed, causing his dog to bark in excitement.

"He is, but fanboyism can wait later," The commissioner intervened, "Hisashi, this is team 8 of the police force. They are our special tracking team. This is Kiba Inuzuka," the commissioner pointed to the man who had interrupted, "And that's his partner Akamaru." The dog barked as if to introduce himself, "The two are among the up-and-coming members of the K-9 unit."

Hisashi nodded, already implementing their role in the plan. He resisted the urge to shudder at the massive size of the dog who was sitting cutely on the floor, "Is that a wolf or a dog…"

"That's Shino," Kenji pointed to the man wearing the trench coat, "He's our bugging expert, literally. He can control bugs and place them in hideouts. The bugs relay the information back to him." Shino nodded curtly to Hisashi who nodded, "That's going to be vital to our plan."

"And finally, the girl is Hinata," The commissioner pointed to a purple-haired girl, who was shyly smiling, "Her quirk allows her to see through walls. She'll be useful in helping us confirm the architecture of the hideout as well as find any secret passages that are not included in our blueprints."

"And the final member is Minato?" Hisashi asked.

"Yes," Kenji replied, "He's going to help us hack into the Yakuza's computers and see if there is anything to be found."

"It's good to see you again Hisashi," Minato said politely.

"I still think you should have stayed in the undercover department," Hisashi said with a mock hurt tone, "But you seemed to have built up quite the reputation as a hacker."

"Cybercrimes. Hacking kind of makes us look evil," Minato chuckled, "Anyway, I had a kid you know. So, a desk job was better for me so that I could spend more time with my son instead of dying on his birthday somewhere. And it's not boring either."

"I understand," Hisashi acknowledged, "But we made a really good duo. I kind of miss that."

"I was sure you were going to say something along the lines of 'I had a child too,'" Minato replied.

"You're the cybercrimes teacher at the academy too. So I'm sure you are aware that I failed Izuku in more ways than one."

"Is that why you took a desk job as a captain?" Tsukuachi asked.

Hisashi twitched, "Shut up." He ordered, turning red in embarrassment.

Minato laughed, "Don't worry. We can still be a duo. I can be your 'guy in the chair.'"

"Alright, that's enough chit-chat. We're here for a more pressing matter." Kenji said in a commanding tone, "Hisashi, lay out what you know."

Hisashi nodded and stoop up, switching to a more serious demeanor, "We have found out that there has been a change in the leadership of the Yakuza. As part of their plea deal, they are supposed to keep us updated on such drastic changes, but they didn't. That's why you have been called." Hisashi informed team 8.

"That does not explain why you need an elite team such as team 8," Shino said, adjusting his glasses, "I can understand that bugging may reveal information but Kiba and Hinata's roles do not make any sense. Why? Because Kiba is more suited to tracking than information gathering, Hinata should have been called in much earlier to confirm the Yakuza's hideout. Why now? It also does not make sense why both I and Minato-san need to be present for either one of us can gain elementary information."

"Shino, we are expected to carry out orders. We don't have to question everything." Hinata excused shyly.

"That is true. But knowing the truth would help us increase our mission's success rate." Shino retorted.

"Good to know that your team lives up to its name," Hisashi smirked, "The truth is, there is a little girl located in the hideout. She is the former boss' granddaughter and has a highly volatile quirk that may be weaponized. Thus, we are trying to locate her whereabouts and also find whether or not they plan on using Eri."

"Whether or not? This is all just a hunch?" Kiba asked pointedly.

"Well, yes," Hisashi admitted, "But my hunches are usually right. And since we have to investigate the change in leadership, we might as well kill two birds with one stone."

"Very well. I would like a description of the girl and her name though to help identify her with my bugs." Shino requested.

Hisashi nodded, "Shikamaru, can you explain the details of the warrant?"

The man in question rose from his sleeping bag in Aizawa-like fashion, "The warrant I've gotten for you guys lets you bug the place and hack the Yakuza if you want, but it does not allow you permission into their premises. That's why Kiba and Akamaru have to be especially careful."

"Couldn't you have just gotten both?" Kiba whined.

Shikamaru shook his head, "If we did that, we could just as well go in guns blazing and get what we need. However, if we don't get enough information, not only will the warrant go to waste, we won't be able to provide sufficient grounds for another warrant."

"I mean, if we find nothing, there probably is nothing, right?" Kiba inquired.

"The girl might be forced into saying everything is alright. And they can cover up a lot of stuff with their quirks," Hinata added.

"She's right," Shikamaru said, "This way we can get information and if there's enough for me to build a case, you guys go in and secure Eri."

"Minato will head the operation but Shino will be the field captain," The commissioner announced.

Shino nodded his head, "Are we expected to come up with a plan or did you have one in mind?"

"The primary plan is for you to bug the place and find all the information you can. My precinct will help you categorize the information," Hisashi replied, "Hinata will work with me because I already know the ins and outs of the hideout. She'll be here to make sure we know the hideout like the back of our hands. Kiba will have the hardest job because he has to track the movements of the ones who are in close proximity to Eri. Unfortunately, I don't have anything of hers that you can use for scent."

"Don't sweat it!" Kiba exclaimed and Akamaru barked along, "Children generally have this innocent smell. As long as I can find that, we'll be fine, right Akamaru!?"

The dog barked again, which Hisashi took for a yes.

"Minato, I assume you do not need any instructions considering your experience?" Kenji asked.

"Nope. I'll make sure to handle any unforeseen changes in the operation as well."

Hisashi nodded, knowing that he could trust Minato, "Anything to add Tsukauchi?"

"Ah yes," Tsukauchi stood up with a pile of papers, "Nedzu has sent all the quirk analyses of the Yakuzas. Here's a copy of them," he handed out the papers.

"Kiba, the warrant doesn't really cover you. On top of that, you have to work in the closest proximity. Make sure they don't see you or they'll file harassment charges," Shikamaru warned.

Kiba nodded as he begrudgingly shifted through the papers.

"I can't believe the Yakuza didn't file a report straight away, explaining their change in leadership," Kenji mused.

"Oh, they did," Shikamaru said with a gleam in his eye, "I just haven't gotten to it. Being a public prosecutor gives you a large stack of paperwork to hide things under, you know?"

"What are you doing here?" Aizawa asked, seeing a familiar mop of green hair walk past, "Oh, hey Aizawa-sensei! Just the person I was looking for!"

Aizawa looked surprised, "Me? You don't have any classes with me that I am aware of."

"Well, I needed some information," Izuku replied.

"I can't tell you anything about the UA admission test. It wouldn't be fair." Aizawa said.

"Huh?"

Aizawa looked at Izuku's confused face, "You aren't here for information about the UA admission test?"

"Oh right, that's in a month, right?" Izuku asked quietly, "Why did I decide to do this prank again?" he asked himself before shaking himself, "Uh, that's not what I'm here for." Izuku brushed aside the questions.

"So, what are you here for?" Aizawa asked.

"Well, my history teacher was telling us about this legendary villain who could steal quirks and build an army. I was wondering if you knew anything about it?" He didn't want to mention the names just to see if Aizawa knew anything.

"Wouldn't Nedzu know more about this?"

"He's busy," Izuku bit his lip hard, hoping that excuse would be enough.

Aizawa frowned, "Well, there was this bogeyman of sorts when I was younger. There were rumors that this guy could steal quirks. But I don't really remember much."

Izuku breathed in heavily. He wasn't sure whether Nedzu would be mad at him but hey, if he trusted Aizawa to train him, then Aizawa was probably trustworthy enough to know, "Do you know anything about the quirk One for All?"

"One for All?" Aizawa asked, "Well, some people call my quirk None for All, but besides that, I don't know."

Immediately Izuku's eyes widened, "Of course! The name One for All didn't make much sense in the first place. And Inu-san told us to look underneath the underneath. Maybe Aizawa-sensei is All for One's brother or inherited his quirk in some way!"

"Um, Izuku, are you alright?" Aizawa waved in front of a frozen Izuku's face, "It's fine! Gotta go!" Izuku hurriedly said and rushed home, where he would later realize how stupidly wrong, he was.

Aizawa just shook his head and muttered in annoyance, "What a drag."

A/N: The last part's kinda like an Omake, but Imma use it a bit in upcoming chapters. Sorry for the short chapter but I'll try making it up
