I decided to update after a long sucky day and decided to write about a worse life than my own! ;) Hope you like it!
Regina woke up to the sun peeking through her curtains in the morning. Seeing that bright little spark of light gave her zero hope for her current situation. The only plans she had for the day, and the rest of her time in Angel Grove was to avoid attention and her mother's wrath.
Of course, she knew that her plan had gone to hell the second Billy had seen her the day before. Especially after finding out about her mother.
Billy had always been protective of her, as she was the closest thing he had to sibling, until her parents divorced and her father had hightailed it out of Angel Grove with her in tow.
So for now, it seemed her cousin would be another thing she would avoid.
She got up, awake before her mother and got ready for a day out in the shitty town.
She brushed her hair and her teeth and jumped into the shower. She made sure to keep the water extra cold, as she didn't want her mother complaining on hot water usage. Not to mention, the cold water gave a shock to her systems that she needed after her crying the night before.
She got out and got dressed.
She wore a simple, black, bustier crop top, distressed skinny jeans and black army boots. She put on her gold bomber jacket and she put on a light pink shade of lipstick, deep pink blush and golden eyeshadow. She rebrushed out her hair and stuck it in a quick high ponytail.
She grabbed her black messenger bag and quietly tried to escape the apartment. Luckily, no floorboards creaked and she was able to make it out the door.
She quickly ran down the stairs in the building and and out the door. She was met by the few early rising people who didn't like sleeping.
She walked off and into the blinding light of the sun's direction as she explored the place her mother would make hell.
During her walk, she got a call from an unknown, unsurprising, as she had never called anyone from Angel Grove.
She answered and was shocked to hear Billy on the other end.
"Regina?" His voice came through.
"Billy? How'd you get my number?" Regina asked.
"Good morning to you too, cousin," Billy responded, prompting an eyeroll from Regina. "Do you wanna get breakfast?"
"Um... I guess? Just tell me where Billy-boy and I will meet you there," Regina nodded.
"How about Ernie's you've already been there so you know where it is," Billy wondered.
"Yeah, I'll be there in around... ten minutes. I could say five if I run, but I'm lazy so I'm not going to," Regina laughed.
"Didn't you play basketball, do cheerleading, track and walk home from school every day?" Billy questioned, amusement laced in his voice.
"Who did?" Regina heard another voice in the background. She could tell it was a young person, most likely female and she heard the small hint in her voice that gave her an australian accent.
"Who's that?" She questioned, not recognizing the voice.
"Avalon's little sister, Bailey," Billy responded. Ah. Avalon. The australian chick who seemed just as disinterested in Regina as Regina was in her. She had seemed like she intimidated people often, seemed like a far cry from Billy's other friends. The red dude who looked like the father of the group. The guy with a ponytail who seemed like he was wrapped around the pink glitter ball. The boy in black seemed not to like her, which was fair, not a lot of people liked her. The girl in yellow, Trini, had been kind overall which Regina hadn't deserved, but was sure would go away in less than a week.
Trini.
The obvious crush her cousin had on the girl was not lost on Regina. Nor the vice-versa feelings.
"Who are you talking to, Billy?" The girl's voice spoke up again.
"My cousin, Regina," Billy replied.
"I didn't know you had a cousin," Bailey said.
"She just moved here, Avalon and the others met her yesterday," Billy spoke, as the two's conversation continued, Regina decided on just hanging up and meeting him there.
Regina had gotten there very quickly, as the route had stayed in her mind, no need to look at a map.
"I was wondering when you'd get here," A voice spoke up from behind. Of course, Regina, who had grown up in New York, had immediately moved to punch the surprising figure, but luckily the punch was caught by the figure as she realized it was Billy.
He slightly winced from the power behind Regina's blow and let go of her hand.
"Ooh, guess I'm still thinking of New York," Regina spoke, a sheepish smile on her face.
"Guess so," Billy chuckled.
"Food?" Regina questioned, prompting Billy to nod and they walked in.
After they had eaten they had just been sitting talking. Well, Billy was talking and Regina was kinda, sorta listening.
He mostly talked about his friends or school or his crazy inventions.
And Regina had to admit she was really enjoying spending time with her cousin, that was until a weird chime noise echoed through the area and Billy ceased speaking.
"That's just my watch, I forgot, I'm supposed to be calling my mother," Billy spoke, quickly, calmly, with the slightest hint of concern in his tone.
"Oh ok," Regina nodded, a suspicious look in her eyes. He walked out of the building, he was gone for a few minutes. Regina was left wondering where he went.
When he had come back he had a concerned look on his face.
"I gotta go," He said, his voice distraught.
"You okay, cous?" Regina asked, seeing his worry.
"Um, my friend, Jason, he was jumped," Billy responded.
"Oh ok, uh, I didn't know stuff like that happened here," Regina sighed. 'But I guess if they let mother in, thieves, muggers and monsters wouldn't be far behind.' She thought.
"Yeah, it doesn't happen often though. I gotta meet the others at the hospital," Billy spoke, quickly grabbing his stuff. Regina followed suit.
"Ok, I should be getting back to my Mom's apartment," Regina nodded, getting up to leave.
"Hey, Gina, you're doing okay over there, right?" Billy questioned.
"Yeah, yeah, all good," Regina gave a bright - fake - smile. "Nothing to worry about, Billy." With that she left, Billy also left. Just a different way. This time, when Regina walked out of the building and turned back, she noticed the glowing sparkles in the air. She gasped, getting distracted, as she was walking into the once empty street.
A car came rushing towards her and she froze.
Ever since they had arrived at the hospital, Avalon had been worried. Walking back and forth from the room, biting her nails.
Overthinking if people recognized her as a Viper.
Avalon moved her hands to cover her face and took a couple of deep breaths, thinking of what to do next.
Run away was the first thing on her mind. It always was. A last resort.
As Avalon left the hospital she took deep breaths as she tried to push down the feeling of guilt and remorse. The feelings that told her it was her fault. The feelings she knew were right.
As Jason lay limp on his hospital bed. He could faintly hear a voice, calling his name. He attempted to open his eyes, but just opening them brought pain. Any movement felt like a world of pain.
Closing his eyes again, Jason remembered the way he had been beaten, thrown and abused. He had tried to fight them off, but they got the best to him, each hit was more to cause pain rather than damage. His attackers had played dirty, never giving him a free moment and not allowing them to get a good look at them.
"Hey Jase, how are you doing, man?"
Zack's voice and words, caused Jason to be able to open his eyes. He saw the grin on his face as Zack tried to cheer him up. So, Jason smiled back as he saw his friends.
"How long are you gonna be in here?"
Avalon was biting her lip as she waited for Jason's response. Her eyes darted from Jason to Zack, Trini, Kimberly, Tommy, and Billy and then back to Jason again. Her hands were placed firmly on Bailey's shoulders, her fingers and nails jabbing into the younger girl's skin. If Bailey was in pain, she didn't show it. Instead, she reached up and placed a hand on top of her sister's, squeezing it gently.
"Just overnight, hopefully," Jason replied. He attempted to sit up, but the pillows he was going to lean on, stayed in place, flat. Kimberly smiled and propped up and even fluffed his pillows. He thanked her with a smile and leaned back "The doctors said that I was hit in the head a lot, so they're just monitoring how I do overnight before they make any decisions," He shrugged, trying to worry them less. "But I'm fine, guys, don't worry."
"Too late," Trini said, her voice soft and soothing. She was sitting beside the bed, holding his hand. Billy stood behind her, his hands on her shoulders, in a gentler way than how Avalon was to Bailey. Trini leaned forward in earnest.
"Do you remember anything that happened? Anything at all?" She questioned.
"Yeah, do you know who did this?" Kimberly asked, brushing hair behind her ears. She exchanged a glance with Tommy.
"Maybe we can call the police or something?" Tommy suggested. "There has to be something that'll help catch those guys." He offered.
"The police would probably just chalk it up to gang violence and that he was a random passerby that was caught up in it," Avalon sighed. "With little to go off of, it'd be hard for them to find out specifically, who it was." She pushed her hair over her shoulders, looking at everyone in the room. A light sheen of sweat had appeared on her forehead and her lips were twitching slightly. "I-I mean, there's a lot of gang violence in Angel Grove, we all know that, but not many people would talk about it because they don't want to scare people." She shrugged. "Angel Grove is a pretty safe place; no one wants that ideal image to be broken."
"Av's right," Bailey spoke up. She played with her fingers as she shot the most convincing smile she could. "They probably just jumped you for your money." She assured.
"Do you think it was Chase?" Tommy asked Avalon. She glanced at him. "Do you think he'd have anything to do with this? I mean, by now he knows that you might have talked to the police or something."
"I doubt it," Avalon said, convincingly, or as convincingly as possible. "He's not dumb enough to rob someone in broad daylight. The Vipers usually only operate at night."
She didn't really believe what she was saying. It was most likely that it had been Chase that had jumped him. But his reason for it? Just because she had continued to hang out with him? She knew Chase and while he could be considered psychotic at times, he wasn't one that would put his name in the light like that. It would have been too obvious. If it was her guess, it would have been Skye if not a High-Flyers. Anyway to keep Chase's name out of anyone's mouth, even at the expense of his own gang member, he would keep the blame off him.
She gave an apologetic smile and fell silent.
"Either way it sucks," Zack said. He changed the subject, trying to ease Avalon's mind. No one could have seen any of this coming. He clenched his hands into fists before lifting a hand and smacking a fist into his palm. "If I found out who did it, they're going to get a piece of my mind."
"That's not a very commendable idea," Billy protested, a frown on his face. "Going by yourself…you could get hurt worse. And if they really are as dangerous as Avalon and Bailey say, then either way, it wouldn't be a good idea to confront them at all."
"Billy's right," Trini agreed. "It's probably better to just leave things as they are."
"Not unless you want to jump every person wearing purple for the rest of your lives," Jason said. He managed a small smile. "Don't worry about me, guys; things are going to be fine." He looked at the clock on the wall behind them. "Wow, it's getting pretty late; I didn't realize that I was here this long." He winced as he tried to sit up all the way.
"Don't strain yourself," Kimberly reached out and pushed him back down. "It'll just make your injuries worse."
"I don't think anything can be worse than the way his face looks," Zack said. He and Avalon laughed. Kimberly rolled her eyes as Trini smiled. Billy and Tommy exchanged amused glances. Zack's laughter faded and he reached out, lightly hitting Jason on the shoulder. "Sorry, man, I was just trying to make you laugh."
"Next time bring him a card," Tommy pointed out.
A light laugh went around the room. Then there was a brief moment of silence. There was actually some tension in the air. Avalon just kept her hands on Bailey's shoulders, her gaze down at her feet. She had only spoken once the whole time they had been there, and that had been about the gang activity that had been going around. If that didn't put a huge neon sign on her forehead saying 'I'm guilty' than nothing else would. Even Bailey seemed to be picking up on her anxiety; she continued to twist her fingers as she looked at Jason.
Trini looked over at Bailey as she made a squeaking sound. Her shoulders were hunched up to her ears, and one of her eyes was closed. Avalon's hands were gripped so tight into Bailey's shoulders that there were little indents in the fabric of her clothes, where Avalon's fingers were. "Are you ok, Bailey? Is something wrong?"
"She's fine!" Avalon quipped, her eyes widening slightly. She gave a trembling laugh, pushing her hair over her shoulders. "She's just...kinda sleepy. She needs some zeds. I should be getting her home, if she's gonna help us with our weapons and whatever, she can't stay up too late." Avalon grabbed Bailey's shoulders and forcibly turned her around. "Later." The two quickly moved to the hospital door.
"Hey!"
At Jason's voice, the two turned around. Jason gave Avalon a knowing smile. "Thanks for coming to visit."
Avalon rolled her eyes before smirking at him. "No problem, Jason."
A/N:
Isn't AvalonBay's story so angsty! Whoo! Poor Jason. :,(
I'm really liking writing this so far.
Also I'm thinking I should maybe mention this. Yes, Regina is in the way of a car. Will I explain it?
No.
You gotta read the next chapter to find out if she's gonna be ok!
Idk, though. I kinda love torturing my OC's and might make it two hospital scene chapters in a row!
Fun tidbit: I was listening to my 'friends' discuss their cutting habits while writing. While that may seem concerning, it is. Sadly, as none of their parents know me and I have no real way to get them help without them both hating me and cutting more. They are still doing it.
DO NOT FEEL BAD!
I'm only saying this to vent. As well as because those three treat mental health issues as a joke and were laughing about how nobody knows and that more people should do it.
Sorry if this made you uncomfortable. :(

I do not own Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, the original team such as, Jason, Trini, Kimberly, Tommy, Zach and Billy, and other canon characters belong to SABAN. The basic plot, Avalon and Bailey Mitchell, and other OOC moments belong to the writer AvalonBay, who I thank profusely for allowing me to write this! The only things I own are Regina, her family, and the changes I make to fit her in.
This story is a fanfiction based on the fanfiction series written by AvalonBay. Starts near the end of All To Blame, Chapter 32: All The Blame.
BYEBYE :)
