Days quickly went by for everyone. Now that everyone is settled in and busy with school and enjoying their time off when they have it, the upcoming dance is going to happen after school, and a lot are excited to participate. But some unfortunately are dreading it. Ash sighed as the last class of the day got over. It was now time for everyone to ether head home or get ready real quick find their dates for the dance.
"I guess the free food and beverages in the cafeteria sounds nice..." Ash mumbled. Since he promised Misty that they would go to the dance, he couldn't get out of it. But they've been together one month already and he hasn't seen anything good at all about it. Since Misty yelled at him to do his hair nice, he had did and it was a real pain. Ash then waited by the gym were the dance was held.
After some time, Misty showed up. She was in a dress with her hair down. Ash just starred at her with a surprised look. She almost didn't look like her, and a confused Ash a bit.
"You look nice Ash," Misty said.
"Thanks..." Ash replied.
Misty cross her arms with an annoyed look. "So? How do I look?"
"Oh! Nice! You look nice!"
Misty huffed, knowing he was just saying that, because he thinks that's what she wants to hear. Then the doors open and people were allowed in.
"Let's just head in," Misty said.
"Right."
They got in and some soft, sweet, slow music was playing.
"Aww, I love this song!" Misty said.
Ash let out a yawn.
"Come on Ash!" Misty held out her hand.
Ash grabbed hand, and the dance for about a minute before Ash stepped on Misty.
"Ash! Watch it!" Misty shouted.
" I didn't mean too!" Ash shouted.
Misty crossed her arms and turned away from him. "Gezz Ash, you know how to ruin a good night!"
"You know how to ruin everything!"
Misty turned around and glared at him. "Would you grow up?" she shouted. Then Misty stormed out. Ash went into the cafeteria. He got a ton of food to eat. Then Gary came up to him and whispered, "meet me by the girl's dorm tomorrow, and bring your strongest pokemon." Then he left.
The next morning came, and Gary got up. He hasn't been sleeping well at all for about a month. Ursula has him doing whatever she wanted, and if he doesn't she just will hurt his Umbreon. He's been kept up worrying about how he's doing, because no doubt she doesn't care about keeping his health up. But today, Ursula promised to let Gary see him for going to the dance with her. Before, he couldn't go get Umbreon because it wasn't in her room. He got information on were it was, but when he looked there, he wasn't there. This only got Ursula upset and got Umbreon hurt. So he quickly got dressed and headed to go see Umbreon.
Outside the girls dorms, Ash was waiting outside by a tree. Gary had to wait another thirty minutes until he could meet up with Ursula, so he had some time he can spare. Ash looked a bit upset, so Gary wrapped his arm around him and said, "hey what's wrong, Ashie boy?"
Ash huffed a bit. "Misty! She got upset as I explained why I am here and accused me of cheating on her!"
"So you are still with her?"
Ash just nodded.
Gary sighed. "Why are you still with her? If she makes you unhappy, then you should leave her."
Ash looked to the side. "Yeah..." Then he looked at Gary. "Then what about you and Ursula?"
Gary looked away with a frown. "I...it's complicated."
"Really?"
"I am going to be done with her after today! But, you didn't really need to stay with Misty, right?"
Ash looked down. "So... Am I should not be dating people?"
"W-what? I'm not saying that."
"But, I was told... that me and Misty would make a perfect couple since we are opposite."
Gary grabbed Ash's shoulder and said, "Ash, you be with whoever makes you happy." Then he leaned into his ear and whispered, "cause I hate seeing you so unhappy."
Ash looked up into his eyes. "I hate seeing you unhappy too. So if you break up with Ursula, I break it off with Misty, alright?"
Gary smiled at him. "You got yourself a deal."
Ash beamed back at him. "Great!" But then Ash made a serious look. "But, dating and all that... Just, what's the big deal?"
Garry laughed a bit. "You pretty clueless, aren't you?"
Ash crossed his arms and huffed with a small blush.
"Dating is just when two people, enjoy spending time with each other more than their other friends, and want to take it to another level," Gary explained.
Ash starred at the ground a bit before looking back up at him. "Well, I enjoyed a lot of times we spent together, and missed you a lot when traveling..."
"So... you're saying you'd like to go out with me?"
Ash had a bit of red on his face as he looked away and muttered, "maybe..."
Gary pulled Ash close and whispered, "well, nothing would make me happier than to be with you, but we we'll talk about that later..." Gary pushed him away and said, "for now, I need to tell you what I need you to do." But then Misty came from behind the tree.
Gary just whispered in his ear, then left.
"What? Wait, Gary!" Ash shouted. But Gary was gone.
Misty had walked slowly behind Ash and was right behind him. "So..."
Ash jumped a bit and quickly turned around and faced Misty. "Misty? How... How long were you there?"
Misty glared at Ash. From the looks of it she was crying. "So, you didn't really like me at all?"
"No! No, that's no..."
"My feelings meant nothing to you? You... What about what I've said to you? Didn't you ever once think of how I feel?"
"Misty... Did you really enjoy dating me?"
She clenched her fist. "I was willing to work through everything for you! But you never were willing to do that! And now I know why! Ash, you're such a jerk!" Misty lifted he hand.
Ash back up and has his hands up and said, "Misty wait! I just couldn't-"
Misty smacked him as hard as she could. "I'm tired of your excuses! I'm tired of you always complaining about me, like you can't talk to me? But Ash, most of all, I am tired of you! So you don't have to break up with me! Because I'm done with you! We are over, so now I'm not the reason your unhappy now!"
Ash held on to the spot were he was hit, and was wincing a bit. "I... Misty, I'm sorry."
"Oh sure! Just save it Ash! I never want to speak to you again!" Then Misty ran off with tears falling down her face.
"Misty!"
But Misty ignored him.
Gary arrived at Ursula's room and saw Umbreon on the floor injured, but alive.
Gary ran toward him and shouted, "Umbreon!" Then he hugged him. "Don't worry. You'll be okay now..." he whispered
"Well, if you're good enough to me, I'll let you visit your pokemon more often," Urusla said. She had other pokemon all around her, some of hers, a little of Jessie and James, and Harley's. Gary looked around with a frown.
"Dang, this is gonna be harder than I thought..." Gary thought. "T-that sounds nice, thanks," he said.
Gary pulled Umbreon close as he slid his between them and texted something.
"I know! I'm just the sweetest girlfriend in the world, aren't I?"
Gary cringed, but said, "yes... b-babe." He put his phone away.
Ursula slowly walked up to him. Gary sat as still as he could, then Ursula bend over to kissed him on the cheek.
"See, as long as your good, we go along very well," Ursula said. She wrapped her arms around his shoulders. Then she slid her hand down across his cheek.
Gary looked to the door, clinging closer to Umbreon. "True..."
Ursula wrapped her arms around him and pressed herself against his back. Then she blew in his ear, which made him make a disapproving sound.
Ursula then whispered, "I can also... do something else I'm sure you'll love." She slid one hand down his side while nibbling on his ear.
But then Gary received a message back, he shoved her roughly off and sent out six of his pokemon.
"I'm done with you, witch!" Gary shouted.
Ash came through the door with pokemon all around him, and battled some pokemon who started attacking Gary's.
"Let's go!" Ash told Gary.
Gary grabbed Umbreon, but Ursula grabbed his shirt before he go anywhere. Gary locked eyes with Ash's and shouted, "take him! Get him away from here!"
Ash nodded and took Umbreon from Gary. Ursula made a grab for Ash, but Gary grabbed her arm and threw her to the wall. She feel to the floor. Gary glarred at her for a bit before he looked around and waited till all the pokemon Ursula had with her got knocked out.
"Alright everyone! Let's get out of here!" Gary said. Then he return all his pokemon and left with Ash's pokemon.
Ursula watched as she picked up her phone and called someone. "I need you here. Now!"
Ash got out of the girl's dorm and stood outside panting. Then Harley appeared.
"Hey Ash! What happened?" Harley asked.
"I-I have to get this Umbreon to Nurse Joy!" Ash shouted.
Harley gave it a thorough look. "Yes, it does need to go to her! But you seem a bit worn out! How about I help ya buddy?"
Ash gave him a big smile. "Man are you right! Please hurry!"
But as Harley came to take Umbreon, It moved away and whined.
"Huh? What's wrong Umbreon?" Ash asked.
"Hmm, is it perhaps a bit shy? Well don't worry Umbreon. I'll take good care of you."
Harley then touched it, but it whined and struggled more.
"Ash, don't let him take it!" Gary shouted.
Ash turned and saw Gary was behind him.
"Sorry Harley. But I think I can manage!"
Ash then ran off. Ash's pokemon then were busy handing Ursula as she came running out.
"Move it morons, or you'll be sorry!"
Gary turned around and faced them. "Don't let her through!" he said.
Harley sent out his Cacturne. "Poison Sting."
Pikachu looked toward Ash and saw Cacturne attack, and shouted at Ash.
Ash turned around, but it was to late. He was struck head on with the attack.
