Chapter 2

Percy POV

Percy was unsure how he felt about his domains. On one hand, half the council like Poseidon, Athena, Apollo, Hermes, Hades Hestia, and Artemis were actually quite pleased because they finally had a God who could help and protect their children whilst Zeus, Ares, Dionysus, Demeter, Hera and Aphrodite didn't like the fact that he had such strong domains (well actually the last one was because Percy refused to sleep with her) and could control the monsters that made up the gods armies. Hephaestus simply didn't care. Although Percy had to admit his domains of Night and Monsters brought him and Artemis even closer than ever so he wasn't complaining. She had even asked him to be the Hunt's patron god and to give all the hunters his blessing. Of course, he couldn't say no.

So here he was sitting in his palace admiring the beauty of the moon and Artemis whilst using his domain of Night to watch over the people of Greece when he saw the famous son of Zeus Heracles (so imma call him Heracles cause the dude's greek names Heracles but everyone calls him Hercules. why does he even have a roman aspect anyways?) about to attempt one of his labours. Percy watched silently as the demigod walked up to the Garden of the Hesperides. He raised an eyebrow when the youngest Hesperide Zoe Nightshade walked up to Heracles offering a weapon and knowledge of how to beat Ladon in return for freedom from the garden. Percy noticed the look of lust in the eyes of Heracles and sighed knowing that he would have to intervene to save the young girls' life. Just as he predicted once the hero took an apple from the tree and Zoe requested him to take her he refused which lead to an outcry from Zoe

"But you promised. You promised that if I helped you with your quest you would take me."

Heracles seemed to be in thought for a moment before he said

"You're right young lady, I did indeed promise you that. And now I shall take you."

Before Zoe could even react Heracles had pinned her arms behind her back with one hand and started to take rip her clothes off with the other.

"Get off me!" Zoe yelled tears running down her cheeks as she struggled uselessly against the son of Zeus "Help me! Somebody please!"

Zoe POV

As she wept and struggled against Heracles Zoe knew that it was pointless, that despite her cries there was no one to saver her. Her sisters would only watch as she was defiled by the man she had betrayed them for. She still yelled out of pure desperation. She prayed to every god that existed to help her but none came. An idea appeared in her mind. It was night time right now which meant the god Perseus was paying the most attention to the mortal world and if the rumours about him were anything to go by surely he would help her. With that thought in mind Zoe prayed with all her might but nothing happened.

Just as she was about to give up and accept her fate she felt a powerful presence surround her and the night itself grew thick and heavy. Suddenly Zoe realised she could move her arms again. Heracles had been thrown off her. As she looked around for her saviour she saw a tall man wearing a set of black hoplite armour with sea green edges but instead of the usual horse plume helmet was a terrifying snarling hell hound mask that covered his entire face except for his eyes which were a sea green colour that seemed to glow in the night. (think medieval wolf helmet but instead of it having an open mouth the mouth is closed and it has a hell hounds head instead idk how to really describe it)

" That's enough boy. Leave with the apple before I punish you for trying to rape a maiden." the man spoke in a soft voice yet it carried clearly across the garden to Hercales who had been thrown into the wall.

"As if you could defeat me! I'm a son of Zeus, king of the gods and the greatest hero to ever live!" Heracles bragged arrogantly. " I will destroy you and take your armour as a trophy of my victory."

The mysterious man cocked his head to the side

"Is that a challenge?" he asked Heracles sounding amused as a completely black xiphos formed out of the shadows.

"Of course it is."

Even though his helmet covered his face Zoe could feel the mans smirk as Heracles charged him with her sword raised above his head going for a killing blow. As he brought the sword downwards the man simply stepped to the side and slashed his sword in a horizontal arc across Heracles's chest and he fell to the ground writhing in pain.

"Greatest hero to ever live my ass." the man spat. With a flick of his hand the writhing Heracles disappeared into the shadows and all that remained was Zoe's sword which he picked up. Moments later Zoe heard an agonising crunch and a scream of pain coming from the direction of Ladon. The man walked towards Zoe causing her to curl up into a defensive position.

"Stay away from me!" she called out.

"Tsk tsk is that how you speak to an Olympian young lady?" the man asked with an amused tone in his voice.

Gathering her thoughts Zoe finally realised who he was from the way he acted to the armour he wore and immediately blushed a brilliant shade of red and proceeded to bow to the god.

"Lord Perseus please forgive me I didn't recognise it was you." Zoe stuttered out to her surprise the god just laughed at her.

"It's alright Zoe you were traumatised from what happened earlier. Now I have a proposal for you, would you like to hear it?"

Zoe nodded numbly and Percy continued talking.

"Because of what just happened you probably won't want to be around any males anytime soon so how about I take to the hunt of me and Artemis. You would also gain partial immortality. Does that sound like a good idea to you?"

"You would do that for me?" a shocked Zoe asked

"Of course I would. You prayed for my help didn't you?"

"Thank you so much." Zoe said as tears ran down her face. Without thinking she wrapped her arms around Percy and pulled him in for an embrace. Realizing what she had done Zoe stiffened and immediately retracted her arms. "I'm so sorry my lord I didn't mean to-"

"It's fine Zoe even us immortals have feelings you know. Stop crying now, you look more beautiful when you're smiling . Close your eyes and I'll take you to the Hunt. Tell Artemis I sent you." Percy said as he pulled her close.

"Where will you be going?"

"Up to Olympus to get yelled at by Zeus for killing one of his sons."

Zoe blushed at his response. "I'm sorry for causing you all this trouble."

Percy snorted disdainfully "Don't worry dear I would have saved you regardless even if you didn't pray to me."

"Why?"

Percy leaned in close to her so that his mouth was right next to her ear and whispered "Because you're too beautiful to be ruined by that pig."

With that a coldness surrounded her and the last thing Zoe saw before passing out was two silver orbs staring at her.
