Red was alone in his solitude. The only place he felt at peace. He was with his Pokémon, and he felt at top of the world. He always wanted to be the strongest out there, and then Ethan beat him. He isn't sure what he should do now. He defeated all he could and came up here and trained. Red turned around again and saw a blue haired girl.
"It's nice up here, isn't it?" she asked.
Red nodded.
"Not much here though."
Red looked around and frowned.
"What brings you here?" she asked.
"Training."
"huh… I've always found better training results with battling people."
"…Everyone I know is far out of my league."
She laughed. "Really? Well you don't know me!"
After the battle, Red returned his Pokémon, looked away, and started to leave.
"Looks like you need to get out there more and meet new people," she said.
Red gave her a confused look.
The girl smiled real big and said, "and you can start with me! My name is Kris!"
"…Red."
"Nice to meet you Red!"
"Nice to meet you too." There was a bit of silence. "So why did you come up here?"
"Just to check this place out. It's a beautiful view, but nothing really to impressive with this mountain."
Red looked toward Kanto. He remembered all the fun things about it, like Celadon. There were a lot of things to do there. And the S.S. Anne was pretty neat to.
"Today me and my friend was supposed to go ride the train together, but he kinda got sick so I'm stuck by myself. What about you? You got any plans after you train?"
Red shook his head.
"Well I have an extra train ticket! You can come with me if you want! I think it's something you'd be interested in! The train is real nice and has plenty of trainers on there!"
Red thought about it for a bit. It reminded him of the S.S. Anne a bit, as you can battle as the train goes. "Sure. It sounds pretty interesting."
They boarded the train and Kris sat by the window. The train started moving. Red looked out it too.
"Saffron sure has changed a lot since I last saw it… This train station was never here." Red stated.
Kris gave him a confused look. "When did you last been to Saffron?"
"Five years ago."
"Five years? Who would want to not go to Saffron in that long? It's a great city!"
Red looked away with a sad look on his face.
"Aww, cute Rattata!" Kris looked out the window at it.
Red looked over that way and smiled at it. It was in the snow and it was chomping on some food. He missed seeing other Pokémon not from the mountains. Red looked up at Kris. Even Leaf finds Ratatta's gross. Red is fascinated with all kinds of Pokémon, and likes that she isn't creeped out of them.
Kris turned to him. "What? You love me already?"
Red looked away with a blush. "No. Just wondering if there's Pokémon you don't like. Like Weedle's or something."
"No way! Weedle's are just so cute with their big pink noises! Plus they evolve into the intimating Beedrill! Too cool!"
Red smiled. "Yea, but Beedrill nowhere near as cool as Charizard!"
She giggled. "True! That's not even a fair to compare!"
He smiled as his conversations with Leaf and Green. He thought about how Leaf tried to get them not get any bug Pokémon, because they are gross. Both him and Leaf where really close with their Pokémon, but she was a little more choosy with what she liked.
"Attention passengers! You are now Team Rockets hostage! Surrender your Pokémon now and you'll get out of here without getting hurt!" a guy's voice went through the train.
Both Red and Kris jumped up and shouted, "team Rocket?"
"But they disbanded!" Kris exclaimed.
"Then what are they doing here?" Red asked.
"Whatever the reason, they need to be stopped!"
Red nodded and both ran to find them.
Cassidy and Butch collected people's Pokémon and let them off the train.
"Hah! This is too easy! And With that purple haired numbskull doing all the work we will be done in no time!" Butch said.
"I have to say, we've been getting a lot done with him. Maybe it wasn't such a bad idea to let him join us!"
A charizard used a flamethrower and a meganium used a razor leaf at it hit them.
Cassidy glared towards them. Then she spoke into a watch, "James, we have resistance!"
"Copy! On my way!"
Then a giant machine with an 'R' on it appeared. Then it slapped the meganium and charizard.
Red and Kris looked at each other and whispered a plan.
"It's over! Now hand over your Pokémon!" James shouted.
Meganium attacked the robot using razor leaf, but it did no damage.
"Ha! Your attacks do no damage! Give up-"
Charizard bused the glass screen to which James needed to see out of and used flamethrower and flew off. That blew up the robot, and Meganium used razor leaf on James.
"Oww! Okay, you win this time!" Then James went off into the sky from the explosion.
"Can't believe that worked. Why didn't they think of preventing the glass braking, but protect the body of the robot?" Kris asked.
Red shrugged.
Kris looked around. "It looks like the other two goons ran off, and with the stolen Pokémon too."
"They shouldn't have gotten far! Let's try and track the, down!"
"Right!"
It became nightfall, and both Kris and Red still where unable to locate them.
"They might stink at protecting themselves, but they are good at getting away!" Kris said.
"Never knew team Rocket where such cowards…" Red stated.
"Either way, they got away! So they need to be stopped!"
Red crossed his arms. "Is team Rocket really back? I thought it was a joke some kids pulled or something when I heard about them at school…"
Kris looked at him with a concerned look. "They did have the uniforms that team Rocket wore and they are doing the same things team Rocket did…" She sighed as she looked at the night sky.
"But it doesn't make sense."
Kris and Red both agreed that they should head home and they said goodbye and left, but they quickly exchanged numbers first.
Red looked at the watch like gadget Leaf made him get and looked at the number Kris gave him. He enjoyed his day with her, and would like to see her again. He looked around Pallet town, and became excited to see his mom, Blue, and Leaf again. He went into his house. It was dark inside and his mom was in bed. So he went to his room and closed the door. Then he quickly texted to Leaf and Blue, 'I ran into 'team Rocket' today. Let's stop them again together!' He was confused about the whole team Rocket thing. He figured he stopped them once and for all. Their followers can be pretty persistent, but they usually followed Giovanni, and he gave up team Rocket. But on the other hand, it sounds fun to go with Blue and Leaf again to stop them. And with Kris's help, it looks like they'll stop them in no time.
Blue was up and decided to message that girl he liked at school.
"Hey, how was your day?" he sent to Kris.
"Good!" Kris put a smile in her message. "How was yours?"
"Pretty boring. Was cooped up listening to my friend's worry. Did you do anything fun today?"
"Yeah! I rode the train to Goldenrod! The view is always nice going from Kanto to Johto!"
Blue put a frown face. "And you didn't invite me?"
"Sorry! How about we do something tomorrow?"
Reds message came up on his phone, but he ignored it.
"Sounds great! The restaurant in Celadon sounds like a good place to meet up?"
"Yeah! See you then!"
"Right! Can't wait!"
"Same! I'm going to head to bed now, night!"
"Alright. Goodnight!"
Blue looked at the ceiling and smiled. Then he slowly drifted to sleep, anticipating tomorrow. He figured he needed time away from Leaf's constant worry about Red, and Kris was great hanging out with at school.
James groaned as he woke up and blasted off. He talked into his watch device, "Cassidy? Butch? How it go?"
Cassidy replied, "Perfect! The boss was pleased!"
"Wait… You ditched me?"
"Well duh!" Butch replied.
"James, you should've been able to handle them. We weren't in charge of dealing with resistance now where we?" Cassidy asked.
"Well…no," James responded.
"But don't worry! We still got tons of stolen goods and it's all thanks to you."
James was beaming. "R-really?"
"Well, more like a little thanks to you." Butch replied.
"Anyways, you all right?" Cassidy asked.
"Just fine!"
"Good. Now return to base, now!"
"Roger!" James then quickly got up and went back to base.
