Beaches of Troy after the death of Patroclus

The only thing Achilles could feel was rage. A rage that surged through his veins and took control of his body and mind. Before he knew what he was doing, he had already put on a set of armour, grabbed a spear and shield from a nearby soldier and began marching towards the walls of Troy. Achilles jumped into the battle without saying a word and began massacring the Trojans. Not a single inch of the battlefield wasn't covered in blood. At the horrifying sight of Achilles the Trojans sounded the retreat, and they trampled each other desperately trying to get away from the demon that was tearing them apart. However, not all of them were lucky enough to make it inside the gates, and these unfortunate souls were captured and bound by Achilles. With the captured soldiers tied up at his feet, Achilles paced back and forth in front of the walls of Troy and began taunting Hector.

"Hector, you swine, come down here so that I can gut you like the animal you are! I will tear you apart and offer your insides to the gods!" Achilles yelled as he randomly kicked at his prisoners. "If you don't come down this instant, I will burn these soldiers alive and make their families listen to their screams of agony as they watch their husbands and fathers suffer because of the cowardice of their prince." On top of the walls of Troy, Hector was fuming at the way his men were being treated by Achilles. His father, sensing his inner turmoil, placed a soothing hand on his shoulder.

" You can't go out now Hector, you would only be giving him what he wants," Priam said as he tried to reason with Hector. He really didn't want to lose his most treasured son over a fight for a woman

Below them, Achilles was slowly intensifying the amount of pain he was inflicting upon the captured Trojan soldiers, and their screams of pain and agony only increased in volume. Unable to sit back and watch any longer, Hector pushed past his father and the rest of his family and ordered the gates to be opened. Stopping a few meters away, Hector met Achilles's challenge.

"I'm here Achilles. Let these men return to their families, this is between the two of us," Hector stated confidently as he stood in front of Achilles with his own shield and spear.

Seeing that Hector had responded to his challenge, Achilles cut the rope that was tying down the Trojans, and they immediately scrambled back to their city. When the men were safely back in the city and behind the walls of Troy, both warriors drew their weapons and began circling each other. Silence fell on both armies as they watched the duel of two legendary warriors with awe and fascination.

The two began to circle each other, cautiously looking for openings in the others' defence. Fuelled by his rage, Achilles struck first lunging forward with his spear which Hector blocked with his shield, but the force of the blow still pushed back him several feet. Without pause, Achilles continued to press forward with a series of deadly fast thrusts, each thrust powered with his demigod strength as he let his anger and frustration take over. Although attacking so recklessly left lots of gaps in his defence, the speed that Achilles struck at left Hector unable to counterattack, and he could only grit his teeth as he was slowly pushed back under the relentless onslaught. Finally, after several minutes of blocking, dodging and parrying, Hector sensed a slight decrease in speed from Achilles's strikes. Using this small mistake Hector deflected Achilles's spear with his shield and as he stumbled forward slightly, Hector struck like a viper aiming his spear straight for the neck of Achilles only to watch in shock as the shaft of the spear snapped cleanly in half and the steel spearhead shattered into a million pieces. All the Trojan spectators also stared, eyes wide with shock.

"What trickery is this?!" Hector yelled, clearly in shock of what he just witnessed. His spear was said to be crafted by the best blacksmiths in the world and could cut through a metal chest plate like a hot knife through butter. How could Achilles not only survive an attack to an exposed area of his body, but also break his weapon?

"This is not trickery, my dear Hector. This is my birth right as a demigod. Your puny mortal weapons could never dream of so much as even scratching my skin." Achilles stated, proudly puffing his chest out and standing up straighter as he stopped just a few paces away from Hector.

Olympus as the fight occurs

"How is this fair?!" Apollo cried in outrage as he leapt to his feet in protest. "Achilles has been dipped in the Styx, he should be removed from the war immediately or put down before he becomes a threat to Olympus." The last part of his statement was aimed towards Zeus, as he cleverly tried to take advantage of Zeus's paranoia.

Zeus appeared to actually be deep in thought for a while as he leaned back and rubbed the bridge of his nose whilst sighing deeply, which was actually good news considering his usual reaction towards other powerful demigods that weren't his children would be to blast them down first and ask questions later. After a few moments of silence, he sat back up and glanced around the throne room before finally speaking.

"Does anyone know who or how Achilles gained the curse of the Styx?" he asked, "Anyone who knows anything should step forward now, and you will not be punished."

The Olympians all glanced around at each other, all with their own speculations about who would have helped the son of Thetis. Apollo was sweating profusely as he tried to force a vision or a message, and suddenly his eyes and mouth glowed an eerie parakeet green and his body tensed up as a much older and powerful force took control over his body. All the other gods turned to stare at him in shock as the puppet like son of Zeus stood up and rigidly pointed an index finger at a confused Perseus.

"Perseus Apollyon, in the name of Lady Anake you are to be sentenced to Tartarus."
