Loonatics: United

World of Chaos

Episode 101: Regeneration

Duck was sitting over the floor, next to Lexi´s bed, talking to her. "I met cool people there, they noticed me when I danced over the bar." He chuckled. "The whisky was top notch, you would´ve loved it. I wanna go again, but this time with you. You´re my sister."

"Duck." All of a sudden, Lexi spoke very quietly. "Shut up. I got a headache."

Duck gasped with happiness and got onto his feet, rapidly approaching her. Lexi smiled at him, winking. "Lexi!" He hugged her strongly, making her gasp by the pain. Duck´s eyes widened and then he stopped hugging her immediately. "Oh, I´m sorry!"

Susan entered the room, she gasped with relief when seeing Lexi awake. "Lexi, hi!" She approached her. "How do you feel?"

"Hey." Lexi groaned. "It hurts...everything."

"Don´t worry, you´ll be like new in a couple of weeks." Susan said.

"I can do it in one." Lexi said with a cocky grin, then she gasped. "Those guys won´t wait to wreak havoc again."

"I´m glad to see you´re positive, but I´m afraid that the implants will take time to adapt to your body." Susan informed.

"Implants?" Lexi raised an eyebrow.

Susan sighed. "We had to put artificial implants in both your legs and arms to replace the damaged areas."

"Shoot." Lexi said, letting out a sigh.

"Can you move them?" Susan inquired.

Lexi gasped while raising her arm slowly, same as her leg. "Yeah, but it´s kinda hard."

Susan chuckled with relief. "Don´t worry, that´s normal." She smirked at her. "Are you hungry? Rev made pancakes yesterday, they´re still fluffy."

"I´m starving." Lexi replied.

Susan nodded at her. "Alright, I´ll b..."

"I´ll go." Duck walked by Susan and left the room.

Susan looked at Lexi. "You got a sweet guardian."

Lexi chuckled. "He is like my brother, sometimes we argue and fight, he can be extremely annoying when he puts his mind to it." She sighed and let out a soft laugh. "That´s what siblings do as far as I know."

"He accompanied you several times." Susan said.

"I know." Lexi smirked with bliss.

Duck arrived with a plate full of pancakes. "Woah." Susan expressed amazement by the tall tower of pancakes that Duck had brought.

Duck placed the plate over the table next to the bed. "Soaked in syrup, as you like them!"

Lexi blushed and got speechless for a moment. "Uhm, Duck. They are too many." She muttered, frowning subtly at him.

Duck laughed. "Oh! I know your appetite can be quite ravenous! It´s okay, Lex, diets are meant to be broken, right?"

Lexi growled at him. "Get out! Now!" Duck chuckled and teleported out of the room. Lexi sighed while covering her face. "See what I mean?"

Susan chuckled briefly. "It´s okay, do you need anything else?"

Lexi looked at her then switched her gaze to the pile of pancakes. "I think I´m fine." She glared back at her. "Thank you."

Susan smirked and turned, starting to leave. "If you n..."

"Uhm, how´s Ace?" Lexi interrupted.

Susan looked at her over her shoulder. "He´s fine now."

"I wanna see him." Lexi said.

Ace managed to get one foot over the floor, gasping and groaning strongly, being helped by Tech. "Boss, please, do I have to sedate you?"

"No." Ace gasped again and got the other foot on the floor. "Do that and you´re out of the team." He looked at him. "I´ll be fine." Ace let out a groan.

"What is it?" Tech inquired.

"Argh, when I breath, my chest." Ace answered. "It hurts."

They went to the kitchen, Tech helped Ace sit down at the table then he poured milk, cereal and protein powder in a bowl and gave it to him, then Ace began to eat it. "Thanks." He said with his mouth full.

"No problem, boss." Tech replied and made himself the same breakfast, then he went and sat down next to Ace, starting to eat as well.

"Any news on those idiots?" Ace asked, gasping by the pain he felt.

"Rev hasn´t detected any unusual activity." Tech replied. "It´s just a matter of time."

Ace had a bit of his cereal. "They´re gonna pay."

Susan entered the kitchen, gasping when seeing Ace. "Oh, hi Ace!" She greeted with confusion.

"He´s very stubborn." Tech stated.

"Hi, Susan." Ace groaned.

"Well, I got some good news for you." Susan said with a smile. "Lexi just woke up."

Ace´s eyes widened. "Oh, great! I..." He rapidly stood up then gasped and groaned by the pain he felt in his chest. "...I´ll see her."

Tech sighed. "Go ahead."

"Let me help you." Susan approached Ace and walked him towards her room.

Lexi was eating the last bit of her pancakes, he then heard Susan´s and Ace´s steps and left the plate and the fork over the table next to her. Susan opened the door, Ace smiled greatly when seeing his girlfriend. "Lexi." He said with a lump in his throat as Susan helped him approach her. He leaned towards her and started to kiss her lovingly, caressing her face and stroking her hair.

They broke the kiss slowly. "Hey." Lexi smirked at him sweetly.

Ace began to feel her face, the bruises, the burned fur and skin. "I´m gonna kill that guy for what he did to you."

"It´s part of the job." Lexi said.

"Th..." Ace was trying to hold the lump in his throat. "...those idiots will pay." He groaned.

"I´ll get some painkillers for you both." Susan walked out of the room.

Ace broke down crying and hugged Lexi strongly. "How could he?"

Lexi stroked his back the best she could. "It´s alright." She sobbed.

"How c..?" Ace gasped while sobbing. "...how could it be?"

"I´m okay, Ace." Lexi kept stroking his back. "I´m here with you."

Ace kissed her cheek several times. "I´m here as well, love." He stroked her hair. "You´re safe now." Ace kept crying, embracing her and then kissing her with passion.

In the afternoon, Lexi was sitting over a mat that Tech had placed on the floor of Susan´s room, she now wore a pair of white shorts and a pink tube top. Tech was holding Lexi´s left leg. "Okay, tell me if it hurts." He slowly started to flex her leg into a bent position. Lexi gasped a bit after a few moments.

"Too much?" Tech inquired.

Lexi shook her head. "Go on, it´s okay."

"Alright." Tech kept flexing her leg, Lexi gasped and groaned a couple more times until her leg was fully bent. "On a scale of one to ten, how much did it hurt?"

"Five." Lexi replied.

"Hmm, maybe we should wait a few more days." Tech opined.

"No." Lexi said with conviction then looked at Tech. "I can do this."

"I know, Lex, but I´m afraid that recovery takes more than a strong will." Tech said.

Lexi kept looking into his eyes with a glare of deep conviction. "Go on." She gestured at her leg.

Tech sighed. "Alright." He started to flex it again, making Lexi to groan and gasp.

"Lexi, we sh..." Tech got interrupted.

"I said go on." Lexi said with a broken voice and a straight tone. Tech looked into her eyes with a worried glance, after thinking with doubt and hesitation, he continued flexing Lexi´s leg, despite of her groans and gasps.

Later on, after finishing her recovery exercises, Lexi put on her sleeping clothes with the aid of Susan. "Thanks." Lexi said, sitting over the edge of the bed.

Susan winked at her. "It´s nothing."

Lexi sighed. "Can we do double session tomorrow?"

"I don´t know, Lexi. We should wait a few more days for that." Susan replied.

"Just let me try." Lexi pleaded.

Susan thought for a moment then let out a sigh of acceptance. "Alright, girl." She smiled at her.

On the meantime, Ace was exiting the bathroom of the visits room, having showered and put on a pair of jeans and a black shirt. He got out of the room and went to the living room, where Tech, Rev, Duck and Slam were sitting and talking. "Hey, guys." Ace approached them and sat down on one of the couches, next to Tech and Duck.

"How you feeling?" Tech asked.

"Better, I guess." Ace stretched his arms and yawned, then gasped by the pain. "Ouch."

"You sure about that?" Duck raised an eyebrow.

"Don´t push it, boss." Tech said.

"Yeah." Ace replied. "Those guys are lucky, they would be dead already if I wasn´t like this."

"We´re gonna stop them, that´s for sure." Tech said.

"Just stop them?" Ace looked at him, with a serious look. "I´m not sure if that will be enough."

"I agree." Duck said. "Let´s just kill them, who cares? They´re bad guys, it wouldn´t be the first time.

"Hey." Tech scolded. "We´re all angry for what happened." He looked at Ace and placed his hand on his shoulder. "It couldn´t be otherwise, I understand." Tech looked at Duck. "But we got a duty to honor." He shook his head. "We can´t stain it with revenge." He sighed, rubbing Ace´s arm with empathy. "We just can´t."

The Maniacs

Episode 1: Training day, part 2

Akinyi brought Randy down with a tackle. Randy gasped, unable to move as Akinyi was over his abdomen and holding his wrists. "See? It´s easy!" She let go his wrists and stood up, extending her hand.

Randy gasped and took her hand, letting her help him stand up. "It´s easy for you, you´re a professional."

"That self confidence is gonna help us a lot in the field, you know?" Akinyi said sarcastically.

Randy sighed. "Maybe I should work on that too."

Akinyi chuckled while rolling up her eyes. "You´re fine, amigo." She gently punched his shoulder, in a friendly manner, winking at him. Edison entered the place, he was a light orange furred lynx, the tips of his ears were dark brown and his nose was pink. He had cyan colored eyes. Edison wore a pair of black sport pants and a sleeveless sport shirt of the same color. He walked by Akinyi and Randy and then began to do push ups in a corner of the gym. "Hello, how you doin´?" Akinyi said in a sarcastic and upset tone.

"Hi." Edison said coldly.

"Oh, someone´s in a bad mood." Akinyi walked towards him.

"Leave me..." Edison gasped. "...alone."

Akinyi sighed. "Have you always been this grumpy?"

Edison grunted. "I´m busy here, don´t you see?" He looked at her with a frown.

"That doesn´t mean you have to be a cretin." Akinyi said with a straight tone.

Edison sighed and stood up, looking at her with a serious glance. "Just in case you don´t know, tomorrow´s our first mission, Aki. And I´m not planning to fail."

Akinyi let out a chuckle of disdain. "Come on, we got super powers. Relax a bit." She placed her finger on his shoulder warningly. "And only my closest friends call me Aki...Ed."

Edison rolled his eyes while shaking his head. "Whatever. I want to complete this mission, either with your help, or without it."

"Woah, you must be very confident in your skills, Ed." Akinyi said.

"Don´t call me Ed." Edison grunted at her.

"You started it, pretty boy." Akinyi shrugged.

"Hey." Vale arrived, a brown furred fossa with dark yellow eyes. He wore a white undershirt and pair of gray sport pants. "Why do I always find you discussing, guys?"

"He started." Akinyi said.

Right at the same time, Edison spoke. "She started."

Vale sighed. "I don´t give a dang about that, just stop it already." He shook his head. "Tomorrow is the great day, guys." He looked at them with a straight face. "Let´s not screw it up."

"That was exactly wh..." Edison got interrupted.

"Yes, Edison. Focus." Akinyi said teasingly.

Edison snarled while shaking his head and turning his back on her. "Give me a damn break."

Vale was doing some stretching exercises while glaring at Randy. "Hey." Randy just looked back at him. "Why so quiet?"

"Uhm, I´m just, well, like that." Randy replied.

Vale nodded. "I see." He was stretching his arms. "That could be a problem."

"Communication is vit..." Edison was interrupted again.

"I´m talking, pal." Vale said with authority. "Every efficient team needs to communicate at every moment, with clarity, confidence, all of that good stuff."

"He just needs time." Akinyi looked at him with a smirk. "Right?"

"Oh, uhm, yeah, I tend to talk more when I, well, feel more confident around new...people." Randy smiled back at her.

Vale pointed at him. "I hope that´s true." He turned and headed to the weight rack. "Return to your routine, guys." He took a pair of heavy weights and began to exercise his arms with them. "We must stay in shape for the great day."
