Episode 114: Strange forces
The Loonatics and the Maniacs flew down towards the pod. They landed right before its open doors, the inside was lighted by a dim red light on the ceiling. "Lovely." Duck said sarcastically, entering the pod as well as the others. The doors closed behind them afterwards. "It smells like tail here."
"Maybe it's you." Edison said.
"Or maybe the molly didn't have her bath today." Duck winked at him.
Edison growled. "Who are you calling molly?!"
"Shut up." Vale said with a straight tone, looking at Edison with warning.
The pod began to rumble then it started to fly back to the ship. "What are we gonna do after we get there?" Rev inquired. "This could be a trap you know? Not likely but it's still a possibility, there could be an explosive here and make us blow up in any s…"
Vale sighed. "Do this guy ever closes his beak?"
"No." Tech replied. "You better get used to it."
The pod arrived at the ship's platform. "Get ready, everyone." Ace adopted a battle position while activating his laser vision.
"I'm always ready." Akinyi thundered her fingers.
The doors opened, revealing the black and gray looks of the hallway, illuminated by white lights. A horde of outlanders was standing there, who then screeched and yelled with fury, rushing towards the pod. Edison roared at the first row of them, disintegrating them instantly. The heroes exited the pod and started to battle the outlanders, Ace hit them with his laser vision while evading their bites and blows with jumps and crouches, punching and kicking them while burning them with his power. Duck jumped between the enemies and threw orbs at them continuously, bringing them down with the explosions. Tech manipulated a pipeline from the ceiling with his magnetic abilities and ripped off a part of it, then began to swing it at the outlanders, hitting their heads strongly, neutralizing them.
Slam roared and did his tornado, moving fast towards them, they flew away and smashed against the walls after approaching him. Akinyi grabbed the heads of two of them and smashed them against each other, killing the outlanders instantly, then when a group of four more outlanders cornered her, she turned into smoke and began to asphyxiate them, getting in their cavities and destroying their bodies from the inside. Blood came from their eyes, ears, nostrils and mouths, then they fell to the floor. She turned back to her final form afterwards.
Rev and Randy ran with their super speed between the groups of enemies, hitting their faces, bellies and legs. Lexi shot at them with her brain blast, avoiding their tackles and bites, throwing punches and kicks, bringing them down with the heat and power of her ability. Vale confused them with his holographic copies while getting behind them and breaking their necks.
The battle ended after a while, leaving a hallway full of unconscious and dead outlanders, with the floor and walls stained with blood. Ace was recovering his breath. "Alright." He began to walk. "Let's keep moving." He cleaned his sweating forehead with his arm.
"Too much for you?" Edison inquired mockingly while chuckling and stretching.
Ace ignored him and just kept walking through the large hallway. Screeches and screams sounded behind the walls. "Stay alert." He looked at the closed doors on the sides attentively when walking by them.
"Where could these guys come from?" Lexi inquired.
"I haven't notice any particular pattern in their looks, some of them appear to be from the Gamma sector of the galaxy, but others wear stuff you would only see in the Xirion republic." Tech responded. "Just to name some examples."
"Alright, so we got no leads yet." Vale said.
"For now." Tech replied.
"That's why we're here, aren't we?" Ace said with authority, pointing at the big door at the end of the hallway. "And I bet that our answer is behind th…" Before he could finish the phrase, the door slid rightwards, revealing the man in the command center, wearing a black bodysuit, a cape and a feline helmet of the same color, with glowing red lenses.
"Hey, it's…!" Duck was interrupted.
"Alfons." Ace frowned while clenching his fists.
"I left that name behind, Loonatics." Alfons was wielding the sword he had stolen from the temple in that distant planet. "Now…I'm Tenebrous."
"Nah, I'll call you how I want to call you, uhm, what about 'Dork'?" Duck cooked a pair of orbs while smirking at him with mockery.
"Joke all you want, clowns." Tenebrous raised his sword and aimed it towards them. "Now…all your power…your minds…are all mine!" He swung it towards them.
They just shared glares and shrugs of confusion. "Uhm…" Ace expressed, raising an eyebrow while glaring at Tenebrous.
"What?!" Tenebrous swung his sword at them again, letting out a scream of rage. "It's not working!"
"O…kay. So…" Ace got interrupted.
"What do you want?" Vale inquired, getting a look of annoyance from Ace.
"Everything." Tenebrous replied. "Now that I bear more power than anyone could ever imagine, I can reign all the universe, including the will of its people." He raised his hand slowly. "Unfortunately, though. It seems I can't control you." He started to clench his fist. "Such a shame, your powers would have served me well." He sighed. "But killing you…it's still a fair prize to me." He clenched his fist.
The Maniacs and the Loonatics shared the same confused looks. "Are we supposed to die now?" Vale expressed with mockery.
"Damn it!" Tenebrous clenched his fist again. "No!"
Ace grinned cockily. "Whatever." He activated his laser vision and shot at Tenebrous, who blocked the attack with his sword, deflecting it, making it hit Randy's leg.
"Gah!" Randy got on one knee while rubbing his wounded leg.
Akinyi gasped and approached her friend. "Randy!"
Randy groaned. "It's fine." He stood up slowly with the help of Akinyi. "Just a small burn."
The doors closed before Alfons. "Hey! Get out of there and fight like a man!" Duck exclaimed, throwing an orb at the door, causing no damage to it.
"I have greater, much greater things to do now than losing my time with you!" Tenebrous' voice sounded in the hallway through speakers. "Let's see if you can deal with my new recruits!"
One of the doors slid open, a pair of tall and strong wolf-looking creatures exited the room, gray furred and with red eyes, with weapons instead of arms, one of them had machine guns as arms and the other had laser cannons instead. They wore golden, metallic briefs. With loud roars of fury, they began to shoot at them while rushing hostilely. "Woah!" Ace evaded the shots by activating his jetpack rapidly, flying towards the two beastly looking outlanders.
Vale looked at his comrades while gesturing at the creatures. "What are you waiting for?" He dodged a pair of blasts from the creature of the laser cannons. "Kill those things!"
Ace landed behind the beasts and began to shoot at their torsos with his laser vision, making them screech strongly by the pain while Lexi evaded their shots and attacked them with her brain blast, making them stagger. Rev and Randy were running in circles around the canine beasts while throwing quick punches and kicks at them. Duck threw orbs at the beasts, laughing at them. "Where did you buy those lovely panties?" He inquired mockingly.
Slam threw strong and occasional punches at the faces of the beasts while dodging their attacks with his tornado. He growled at them, making fun of them for missing.
Tech manipulated the piece of pipeline he had used previously and started to hit their faces with it, making them spit out blood and screech constantly. Vale made two holographic copies of himself which approached the beasts hostilely, confusing them. "Is this all he's got?!" Vale expressed cockily, referring to Tenebrous.
Akinyi dodged the shots of the beasts' weapons while hitting their stomachs with precise flying kicks and strong punches. "Time to bite the dust, ugly!" Akinyi turned into smoke and entered one of the beasts through its nostrils, the beast started to cough, stopping his laser cannon, falling over the ground while shaking with desperation.
Edison dodged the shots of the machine guns of the remaining beast, then stood before it and roared intensely, disintegrating the beast completely. Akinyi kept destroying the beast with her smoke form, making it bleed from its cavities. The beast died afterwards and Akinyi exited from it, returning to her normal form. "Well, that was truly a big one." Akinyi dusted off her hands.
"I killed it right away…as always." Edison said arrogantly.
"No one gives a damn." Akinyi replied.
"Alright, now let's get t…" Ace couldn't finished the phrase as all the lights went down and the ship started to fly upwards violently, shaking and making the Loonatics and the Maniacs fall and smash against the wall strongly. "Gah! What's going on?!"
"He must be going off planet!" Tech replied.
"We should get out of here, then!" Vale opined.
"I have an idea!" Tech closed his eyes to focus and manipulated one of the weapons of the dead beast, activating the laser cannon and shooting at one of the walls several times until making a big hole on the wall that sucked them out of the ship instantly. They started to fall down, well above the skyscrapers of the city. The Loonatics activated their jetpacks while the Maniacs called their hoverboards by pressing their wrists. After the boards arrived and got below the Maniacs' feet, both teams flew towards the HQ of the Loonatics.
