The Wrath of Tenebrous

Episode 121: Overpass

Tenebrous threw the first strike, Ace blocked it with a fast swing then he tried to puncture Tenebrous' forearm, but he knocked away Ace's sword by swinging his weapon upwards. "You know how this is gonna end, Bunny." Tenebrous yelled and began to swing his sword rapidly and violently, Ace gasped while backing away with each forceful strike, blocking with quickness and precision.

Tech manipulated a long, pointy antenna from the ship, ripping it off and attracting it towards his hand, grasping it and wielding it as a sword. He stopped using his magnetic ability and rushed towards Tenebrous. "I know how it's gonna end, Alfons!" Tech jumped and pierced Tenebrous' thigh with the antenna.

"Argh!" Tenebrous' cried out loud then looked at Tech and snarled at him, rapidly taking the tip of Tech's improvised weapon out of his thigh.

Ace jumped and kicked Tenebrous on the chest, making him fall to the ground. Tenebrous tried to stand up but Ace kicked him again, this time right on the snout area of the helmet, sending him a few meters away. Tenebrous fell right on the edge of the ship, groaning and grasping the handle of his sword with pure rage. Ace rushed towards him and raised his sword above him, letting out a battle cry. Tenebrous reacted right on time and kicked Ace's blade, he then pierced his stomach with his sword. "Ungh!" Ace's glare widened, he let go off the Guardian Strike Sword.

"Ace!" Tech exclaimed with great worry.

Tenebrous took the sword out of his stomach, Ace got on his knees while rubbing his belly, looking at Tenebrous, who had stood up. "You're someone hard to kill…Ace. I grant you that." He put the tip of his sword on Ace's neck. "But no one is invincible…only m…"

All of a sudden, Tech hit Tenebrous right on the face with the antenna, breaking the red lens of the helmet's right eye, Tenebrous fell to the ground, then Tech kicked his face, breaking the other lens. Tenebrous groaned and tried to get up, intending to throw a strong thrust at Tech's chest, but Tech, with a strong yell full of ire, pierced his wrist with the antenna, making him scream loudly, Tech kept sticking the antenna more and more, until getting it very nailed through Tenebrous' wrist and the metallic surface of the ship. Tech let go off the antenna and rapidly rushed towards Ace, who was laying on the ground. Tenebrous screamed with fury and pain while trying to free his wrist from the antenna.

"Boss!" Tech approached Ace, whose mouth was bleeding a lot, as well as his stomach. Tech carried him on his arms and put the Guardian Strike Sword in its sheath. "Come on." He activated his jetpack and flew away from the ship.

Ace groaned, seeing Tenebrous laying and moving over the ship's roof from the distance, his sight was blurry, and he barely got energy to mumble. "A..." He coughed a great amount of blood. "…Alfons…"

"We'll deal with him later." Tech said, flying en route to the jet.

"Ace." Lexi's voice sounded from Ace's comm. "Ace, are you there?"

Tech used his power to manipulate Ace's comm, in order to reply. "I'm taking him to the jet, Lexi. He is injured." He looked under his feet, seeing dead monsters, outlanders and natives everywhere, as well as destroyed drones. "How are things down there?"

"We dealt with all the enemies…for now." Lexi responded.

Tech sighed. "Alright." He thought for a moment. "We can get out of here, then."

"What about Alfons?" Lexi asked.

"He is out of combat now, but I have to cure Ace first. I left Alfons on the roof of his ship." Tech informed.

"Got it." Lexi ended the call.

"Hold on, boss." Tech mumbled.

The rest of the Loonatics and the Maniacs headed towards Tenebrous' ship, the former flew with their jetpacks while the later used their hoverboards in order to get there. They arrived and landed over the rooftop, looking around. "You can't hide forever, scum!" Duck exclaimed.

Rev and Randy appeared all of sudden in front of Lexi, with vanishing red and blue blurs behind them. "He must be inside." Randy said.

"Yeah cuz we explored literally every corner here and there are no signs of him…except for…" Rev handed Lexi the antenna with which Tech had nailed Tenebrous' hand. Blood was dripping from it, and it had pieces of flesh and bone stuck on it. "…this."

Lexi raised an eyebrow while studying the antenna, her ear twitched and her eyes widened when the ship started to tremble violently. "Woah!" She dropped the antenna and tried to stabilize herself.

"That guy is escaping again!" Duck exclaimed.

Lexi activated her jetpack as well as her comrades while the Maniacs got on their boards. The ship then flew upwards, at a high speed, exiting the planet in almost no time. Lexi glared into the sky with a half-victorious look in her eyes, as well as everybody else. She let out a sigh. "Let's just get out of here, shall we?"

"I double that." Akinyi said.

They flew away, en route to the jet. "How is Ace?" Duck asked.

"I don't know, Duck. Tech said he's injured, that's all." Lexi replied.

The Loonatics and the Maniacs arrived, landing next to the jet. They got in, Lexi gasped when seeing Ace laying on the floor, undressed, with his belly completely open while Tech was doing surgery on him. There was a lot of blood on the floor. "What happened?" Lexi covered her mouth with awe, same as Akinyi.

"Alfons, he perforated his stomach." Tech explained.

"And why did you let him go? Do you know he just left the plan..?" Duck was interrupted.

Tech snarled. "Let me work in peace, damn it!" He gave Duck and the rest of them a look of anger and warning, then he turned his glare back to Ace, continuing the surgery.

"I…I'll pilot this thing." Rev went to the cockpit then everyone got on their seats, fastening their seatbelts. Rev turned on the ship's systems, then he flew the ship upwards as gently as possible, to let Tech attend Ace properly.

"That guy is becoming a pain in the tail." Akinyi said while shaking her head.

Duck sighed. "You have no idea, we´ve defeated him before, but…he hadn't that stupid sword in his power…and that weird ability of his."

"There's something I don't get here." Vale expressed. "Why can't he…melt us as he does with others?"

"I don't know." Duck shrugged.

"Well, I have an hypothesis." Tech said while stitching Ace's stomach. "When the meteor hit Acmetropolis, our DNA changed drastically, I'm only talking about the individuals like us who got powers, of course. That's why all of us here are immune to Alfons' power, unlike the rest of people."

"Hm, kinda makes sense." Vale said.

"So, what now?" Akinyi inquired.

"Rev must be tracing him, so, we must have to wait, I guess." Lexi replied.

Akinyi sighed, resting her head on her seat's back. "Okay, wake me up when we arrive or something."
