Loonatics: United

The Wrath of Tenebrous

Episode 123: Gloria

Rev was piloting the jet, flying casually in the vastness of space. At the bottom of the backside, Ace was laying over a soft, black mat that Tech had placed on the floor. Ace's breathing was erratic, yet stable, Tech had dressed him back with his signature black and yellow bodysuit. The coyote was glaring at him, sitting on his seat. Only Lexi and him were awake, the rest were napping. Rev appeared before them all of a sudden, leaving his red blur behind, making Lexi gasp a bit. "Hey don't worry I put the automatic pilot and there are no asteroids near so…" Rev got interrupted.

"Did you find something decent?" Lexi inquired with a bit of coldness.

"Oh for sure yeah uhm…it's a bit…outdated…BUT it has four rooms and a bathroom, as well as a kitchenette, a little warehouse to keep, you know, weapons, tools, uhm, lots of things yeah." Rev replied.

"Hm…sounds good. Still, we'll have to take a look at it in person to make a decision." Lexi sighed. "This mission is gonna take longer than expected, that's why we have to travel as comfortable as possible."

"It will decrease our possibilities of losing, again, that's for sure." Tech said, with his glance still focused on Ace, who was still deeply asleep.

A couple of hours later, they reached the orbit of a small, red planet. "We're here, guys." Rev informed from the cockpit, flying down. He pressed a couple of buttons on the console in order to follow the coordinates he was given. The jet entered the planet, tall mountains conformed the majority of the surface, the sky was red, with a sun of the same tone. It was evening there.

"Akinyi woke up, letting out a long yawn and stretching. "So, we're here just to get that new jet, right?"

"Yeah. And it's just a loan." Lexi replied. "Rev found an old transporter in the database."

"I hope it delivers, this seat is killing my back." Vale said.

"Uhm, did you say 'old'?" Akinyi inquired. "How old?"

Lexi sighed. "I don't know, we'll have to find out."

Rev dodged several mountains that got in the way, then he spotted the platform he was looking for, it was a big disc shaped, metallic surface that was attached to a mountain, along with a pair of buildings. He lowered down the ship and then landed it slowly on the platform. Rev sighed and turned off the systems. "Alright, let's get down and see our new, uhm, vehicle!"

They got down the ship, except for Tech, who stayed in the jet to watch over Ace. "Uhm, hello?" Rev spoke loud, they walked over the platform with cautious glares.

"Oh!" A male voice said from the warehouse at the bottom. "One sec!" A few moments passed and then a middle aged bear exited the warehouse. "Hey! You're the ones looking for my 'Gloria' right?"

"Uhm…we need a transporter." Lexi replied with confusion.

"Oh yeah I know!" The bear chuckled while approaching them. "That's how I call my darling!" He wore a red shirt and a pair of jeans, as well as a green cap. "Gale Maxfield, at your service." He extended his hand towards Lexi, it was stained with oil and dirt, but she shook it anyway, smiling amicably at him.

"Lexi Bunny, it's a pleasure." She looked around. "So…where's…uhm, Gloria?"

Right after Lexi asked, the transporter showed up, revealing itself from between the mountains. It trembled and some fumes exited from it. "There she is!" Gale pointed at it.

The ship landed abruptly over the platform. It was a huge ship, with three propellers on the back, modern looking windows at the sides and a large cockpit, with a light blue toned windshield. The surface of the ship was gray and very dirty. The door slid open, it was located at the side. A young bear exited the ship and began to walk towards Gale, he was dressed with a blue overall, a white T-Shirt, black boots and a yellow rear-facing cap. "Sorry dad!" He stopped his steps and gasped, looking at the four Loonatics that stood there. "Woah! You're…those guys!"

"Yep, those guys." Duck crossed his arms while looking away arrogantly. "You want an autograph, kid?"

"Oh for s..!" The young bear got interrupted by his father.

"Hey, hey I'm doing business here, go with your mother, okay?" Gale started to push his son, forcing him to head to the warehouse.

"Okay, okay!" The son kept walking, then let out a sigh. "You never let cool stuff happen to me."

"Oh, boy, I let you drive Gloria this time!" Gale waited for his son to enter the warehouse and reach for the door that led into their home. He sighed and turned, glaring back at the Loonatics and the Maniacs. "Kids, heh." He clapped. "Shall I show you the inside?"

Gale had brought them to the transporter's inside, the cockpit was located before a short hallway that led to the different rooms, the bathroom was located at the bottom of the hallway, next to a small warehouse, as Rev had described. The kitchenette was located at the beginning of the hallway, next to the door that led to the cockpit, facing the main door of the ship. The main color was dark gray, while some details were black and orange. Some of the blue lights that illuminated the inside were blinking. "Is…is that normal?" Lexi pointed at one of the blinking lights on the ceiling.

"Oh it's okay, don't worry." Gale said carelessly then opened the door of a room. "These are the rooms!"

"O…kay." Lexi entered the room, followed by the others. Slam hit his head and groaned, then snarled and crouched a bit to get through the door.

The room was a bit cleaner than the rest of the ship's inside, the orange lights that illuminated it worked well and the window was uncovered, showing the red of the planet. There was an individual bed attached to the floor, next to the window. A small rectangular surface that served as desk was next to it. A dark gray carpet covered the floor. There was a minimalist lamp on a corner, and that was it. "It looks…cozy." Lexi said with doubt.

"Oh it is for sure! I have good taste for these kind of stuff, you know?" Gale chuckled. "Come on, let's see the cockpit."

The cockpit was huge and panoramic, it had a large console placed under the window, as well as six chairs distributed throughout the console. The black and orange color were predominant.

"Woah!" Rev's eyes widened. "It's got a Master Star 360! It's very rare to find one these days!"

"What is he talking about?" Edison asked Lexi.

"I don't know, these kind of things get him excited." Lexi replied.

"You know your stuff pal!" Gale chuckled.

"Uhm, are we taking this junk, sis?" Duck mumbled to Lexi.

Lexi thought for a moment, then sighed and shrugged. "We can't lose more time finding another one." She approached Gale. "Alright, we're taking it." She smiled at him.
