Loonatics: United

The Wrath of Tenebrous

Episode 124: The fall

The Loonatics and the Maniacs moved all the stuff they needed from the jet to the transporter. After they were done, Lexi exited the transporter while dusting off her hands. "Well, that was everything." She told Gale.

"Great! I'm sure you'll take good care of her!" Gale winked at her. "And don't worry, I'll protect and keep your vehicle with my life."

Lexi chuckled. "Tech will be very glad to hear that."

Ace was laying on the bed of one of the rooms, breathing more normally this time. "The meds are working." Tech said, he, Duck and Ace were going to share room.

"Good" Duck said. "So, where to now?"

Tech sighed. "The ship's computer is…outdated, to say the least. It will take a while for it to trace Alfons' ship."

"Hm." Duck expressed, then yawned and stretched. "Well, I think I'm gonna take a bath."

"Okay." Tech replied, then he turned and walked past Duck.

"Where are you going?" Duck asked.

Tech opened the door of the room, then looked at Duck over his shoulder. "Well, to the cockpit of course. That's my place."

"So, you're gonna send Rev here?" Duck asked. "Man, he won't let me sleep, he always just wants to…talk. That's outrageous."

"No, he will stay with Slam and Edison." Tech replied and left.

"Phew, great." Duck said with relief.

On the meantime, Akinyi and Lexi were getting themselves comfortable in the room they shared. "Okay, so…you want the bed, girl?" Akinyi asked. "I have no problem with that."

"Oh, no take it." Lexi replied. "I'll be okay on the floor." She grabbed a huge, black and orange quilt from the ground and extended it on a corner. "I found this in the cockpit, it will…suffice."

"Oh, okay." Akinyi replied and went to the bed, then laid on it while sighing with relief. "I'm so tired." She yawned, turning to face the window, seeing the vastness of space.

"Well, get some good sleep." Lexi replied. "I…" She yawned. "I'm gonna do the same, actually."

"Sweet dreams." Akinyi said with a somnolent voice.

"Same." Lexi laid down on the quilt and stretched, then she exhaled slowly, closing her eyes, laying on her side and falling asleep rapidly.

Rev was configuring several stuff on the large console of the cockpit, using his super speed to save time. The sliding doors opened behind him. "Okay, Rev. It's my turn." Tech arrived at the cockpit, pointing backwards with his thumb while approaching the pilot seat.

Rev stopped using his super speed. "Just see this design, it's so…"

"Old?" Tech said and then sat down on the pilot seat while thundering his fingers, looking at the dark space through the windshield, getting his hands on the main controls of the ship.

"I would say…traditional." Rev looked at him. "Will you be able to handle it?"

Tech chuckled. "I can handle everything, man. Go take some rest."

"Well, I mean I'd love to but…maybe you're the one who needs rest because you attended Ace and all." Rev argued. "You look very tired."

"I'm fine, bud." Tech looked at him over his shoulder. "I'll call you if I need help." He smiled at him. "Please, take some rest, you need it too."

Rev thought for a moment. "O…okay." He smirked back at him. "So, with the lynx, right? And Slam."

"Yep." Tech replied while he set up the main controls.

Rev nodded. "Okay man maybe have some coffee or something you know?" Tech didn't reply, Rev just walked away and exited the cockpit. He walked through the hallway, looking at the doors of the rooms, the he entered the room where he saw Slam and Edison, the first laying down on the bed while the latter was just resting against the wall. "Uhm, hi."

"Hi." Edison responded coldly.

"It seems we are sleeping on the floor." Rev said.

"Yeah, Lexi gave us some quilts." Edison replied. "They're over there." Edison gestured at the pair of quilts that were piled on a corner.

"Okay, thanks." Rev approached them and took one, then extended it on the floor. "You hungry, man?"

"Uhm, a little." Edison said.

"Hm, come on." Rev gestured at the door.

"What?" Edison inquired.

"I brought some instant noodles we had in the jet, it will take a minute." Rev took the other quilt and threw it at Edison, who caught it with no issue. "Get yourself comfortable." He looked at Slam. "You want s…?"

Slam growled affirmatively.

"Okay." Rev walked out of the room, followed by Edison.

On the meantime, Vale and Randy were in their room, Randy was laying over the bed while Vale laid on a quilt over the floor. "What do you think, Randy?"

"Uhm…of what?" Randy glared at him with an eyebrow raised.

"Of these guys." Vale replied, looking into the ceiling, resting his head over his hands.

"The Loonatics? Uhm, I think they're good." Randy responded.

"Alright. Could you be more specific?" Vale inquired. "Don't worry, I just want your opinion.

"Okay. Uhm, well, since they appeared in the city, all they've done is help out others, when danger appears and all of that. And they have been good with us, so far." Randy said. "I mean, they paid for the hotel and this ship, they are…good guys."

"Mhm." Vale expressed. "Okay." Vale yawned and stretched.

"What about you?" Randy inquired.

"Hm." Vale got thoughtful then let out a sigh. "Well, the best option we all have to stop this crazy guy is working together. Uhm…yeah I mean they've behaved well, I give them that." He yawned again. "I'm dead, man. Wake me up if something happens."

Randy turned to face the window, looking at the dark, star filled space. "Okay."

The microwave in the kitchenette beeped four times. "And done." Rev opened the door and took out a big bowl with noodles. He served it carefully on three smaller bowls that were over the small bar. Edison took a bowl, then Slam did the same, followed by Rev. "Now let me…" Rev opened the drawer under the bar and took out three forks, handing Slam and Edison theirs. He smelled the spicy aroma of the noodles with delight, letting out a sigh of satisfaction. "Bon appetit, guys." They began to eat their noodles, just standing by the kitchenette.

Slam burped, making Edison's ear twitch, he looked at Slam, noticing his empty bowl. "You done already?" He inquired with his mouth full.

Slam snarled affirmatively.

"That's his way." Rev chuckled and kept eating his noodles.

"So…" Edison toyed with the noodles using his fork. "Are you gonna let me end this guy permanently?"

"What do you mean?" Rev glared at him while cleaning his beak with his arm.

"You know what I mean." Edison looked into his eyes with a straight stare.

"Oh…well, I don't think Ace or…any of us would agree with that." Rev ate some more noodles.

Edison kept his glance on him for a long moment, then he just continued eating his food. Slam let out a long yawn and stretched, growling, expressing he was gonna get some sleep.

"Okay." Rev replied, then Slam left.

There was an awkward silence between Rev and Edison, thing that Rev didn't tolerate at all. "So, do you like, uhm, movies and stuff?"

"What?" Edison stopped eating and looked at Rev with an eyebrow raised.

Rev just continued eating. "Never mind." He said with his mouth full.

Edison thought for a moment, glaring away, then he looked back at Rev. "Action movies."

"Hm?" Rev looked at him.

Edison sighed. "I like action movies."

"Oh." Rev nodded. "Cool, man." He resumed his eating.

Edison swirled his fork in the noodles. "You?"

"Uhm…I think science fiction, yeah." Rev answered. "You know, with all the spaceships, robots, cool weapons and electronic music, the cool stuff, you know?"

"Yeah." Edison took another bite of his noodles. Rev looked at him for a moment, then kept eating as well.

Duck exited the bathroom, steam came out of the open door, he had dressed with his black and orange bodysuit again. He entered his room, seeing Ace rubbing his face while straightening his back over the bed. "Oh, you're up, man."

"Yeah." Ace yawned and stretched then groaned and rubbed his belly immediately. "Ouch."

"Hey, be careful." Duck approached him.

Ace looked around. "Where are we?" He glanced at the stars through the window.

"Well, in space." Duck responded casually.

Ace sighed. "I mean, this ship." He switched his gaze to his comrade.

"Oh, well Lexi said we needed to be more, uhm, comfortable." Duck answered.

Ace thought for a moment, then nodded and tried to stand up. "Gah!" He put his hand on his belly. "Shoot!"

"Woah, take it easy man." Duck said with concern.

Ace sighed. "I…I'm gonna get something to eat." He made a huge effort, getting his feet off the bed while groaning and gasping. "Damn."

"Man, I could just bring you som…" Duck got interrupted.

"No!" Ace exclaimed. "I'll get it myself."

"Okay, okay man." Duck got closer to him and put his hand on his back. "At least let me help you."

Ace gasped while getting onto his feet. "Okay." He groaned while walking towards the door, with Duck right at his side, having his hand on his back as precaution.

They exited the room and walked through the hallway. "There's some stuff from the jet, maybe we can have s..?" Everything trembled violently, the lights turned red, the loud alarm beeped continuously. The ship shook more aggressively, it started to go down. Ace and Duck smashed against the wall at the bottom. Ace groaned and yell loudly by the painful hit, then he started to breath in and out anxiously. Duck activated his comm. "Tech! What the hell is going on?!"

Tech delayed a bit to answer. "Asteroids! They…" He gasped. "They damaged the engine!"

"And?!" Duck inquired.

Tech got silent for a moment. "Just brace yourself!"

"Shoot!" Duck looked at Ace, who was trembling, breathing rapidly, with extreme fear in his eyes. "Hey. We'll be okay man, we always are!" Duck exclaimed. "Do you understand?!" Ace closed his eyes, embracing himself instinctively, listening to the loud alarm, clenching his fists strongly, with his heart beating rapidly.

Suddenly, the ship fell strongly, the alarms went off, as well as all of the lights. Water began to enter the ship, which started to get flooded rapidly. Duck opened his eyes under the water, then he looked for Ace and managed to spot him sinking a couple of meters ahead. He swam towards him and carried him then swam upwards, managing to get their heads out of the water, almost touching the ceiling. Ace started to cough water. "I´ll get you out of here, man." Duck teleported out of the ship. They appeared on the lake side, Duck laid Ace carefully over the small, gray rocks. It was nighttime there. Ace was still coughing water. "Woah, let me help ya, man." Duck got his hand close to Ace´s snout. "Aqua Dense." He closed his eyes and began to manipulate the water that was inside Ace, slowly taking it out of him, pulling it out through his snout and nostrils.

Edison roared at the window of the room under the water, disintegrating it right away, then Slam, Rev and him exited the ship, swimming upwards, Rev did so using his super speed so he got out way more rapidly.

Lexi and Akinyi were punching the window of their room strongly and repeatedly, getting more desperate at each punch. It began to crack until they managed to break it. Lexi hurt her hand by doing so.

Randy carried Vale while swimming with his super speed underwater, opening the door of their room quickly. He swam upwards towards the ceiling of the hallway, the water was up to their lower jaws. "No...No, how are w..?" Tech had exited the cockpit, then he swam to the surface, getting his head out of the water, inhaling and exhaling with relief. "Tech! What are we gonna do?!" Randy exclaimed with fear.

"Let me." Tech activated his magnetic abilities. The water now was almost covering their snouts. "And take a deep breath, you two!" Randy and Vale did as he said, he then started to manipulate a corner of the ceiling, gasping with effort. "Ungh." Tech stretched out his arms and clenched his fists, frowning while trying to make a fissure on the metallic ceiling. He took a deep breath as the water was about to cover all of his snout, thing that happened rapidly. The metal started to make cracking noises, Tech was using all of his strength, knowing it was no time for hesitation, he kept manipulating the metal until it broke and left a fissure big enough for the three of them to get out. The water entered rapidly from the outside, flooding the ship entirely. Randy noticed Tech had not enough strength left to swim all the way up, so he carried him as well, swimming with his super speed to the surface.

They all had gotten out of the water, resting on the lake side. Lexi was covering her bleeding hand. "Are you…" She gasped. "...all okay, guys?" She coughed some water.

Randy was crouching next to Tech, who was recovering his breath. He looked around, seeing that everyone had gotten out. "Yeah...I...I think so." Randy replied.

Duck helped Ace get up. "Come on." Ace groaned, rubbing his belly, glaring down in shock.
