Chapter 18: The Non-Lonesome Manor
Upon the Toonateers' arrival, there was a thunderstorm happening. Gus is already scared to hold onto Oswald's ears in comfort.
But Ortensia pulls him off to hug her husband while saying, "Hands off, Gremlin. Only I get to hug him for comfort. And Mickey can as well, along with the Bunny Children."
Gus then tries to hide behind Mickey, but he puts his hand on his face to stop with an annoyed expression.
"Don't even think about it, Gremlin," said Mickey.
But Mickey jumped and began to scratch his shorts. Coming out the front of his shorts were Tintley and Turpley, shaking in fear from the sound of the thunder.
"What the-? Tintley! Turpley! Get out of my shorts!" Mickey shouted in embarrassment.
But as the Guardian Fairies shake in fear, they begin to go through a memory. They are watching the forgotten Toons settle in Wasteland from a telescope. They find themselves on a Heart-shaped island.
"They seem nice. I don't see why we need to leave our Rainbow Caverns home not to gain contact with them," said Tintley.
"They are still a mystery, Tintley. They are beings that can be any creature, can be harmed by Thinner, and want to harvest Paint to make homes. They still might be a threat," said Turpley.
Mother Angel and Papa Devi L. show up, so Mother Angel says, "He's right. We still don't know what they are and how they got home."
"Angel, you always overthink everything. We are still awaiting feedback from our spy team," said Papa Devi L.
Just then, the red Seven Sister and a member of the Devi-Turp Clan arrived while holding a report.
They said while handing them the report, "Master."
"Excellent work. You are dismissed," said Papa Devi L, taking the report.
When they leave, Mother Angel and Papa Devi L read it through while she says, "These creatures are called Toons made by someone called Walt Disney. They were sent here for not being used for making films and were forgotten. Chosen to be here by the creator of our world, Yen Sid."
"Yen Sid? You mean the person who created you and Papa Devi L, Mother Angel, to keep the balance of Paint and Thinner in check?" Tintley asks.
"The very same."
Papa Devi L added, "There's even a note from him to explain we must watch over and protect the Toons by giving them as much Paint and Thinner for them to survive. But we can't be seen since they're still new to our world."
"The fallen rabbit was the first Toon we've seen. He's got to be their leader."
But thunder was heard when grey clouds came around, which spooked Tintley and Turpley. They run into their caretaker's arms for comfort. Their caretaker then held them close to their hearts. But the Guardian Fairies soon snap out of their memory phase when Mickey tries to shake them out of his shorts.
"Get! Out! Of! My! Shorts!" Mickey shouted until the Guardian Fairies flew out of it.
"Sorry, Mickey. We need to be tucked when we hear thunder," said Tintley.
"Well, can you not do that again? It's wrong."
"Let's head in the Manor," Oswald led the way.
"Hey, Oswald. Who put you in charge?" Turpley said.
"What do you mean by that?"
"Who is the leader of the Toonateers?"
"Um…?" Mickey, Oswald, Ortensia, and Gus said.
"I thought so. Let's go inside."
"I'm curious too. Who is in charge of this group? I may be a leader of some things, but prefer as the Heart of the group," said Mickey.
"Because you have a heart?" Oswald asks.
"No. But that does sound ironic now, come to think of it."
But as they enter the Foyer, they find the three Generals on top of the staircase.
"Not you guys again. But then you do have my brother's present. But I'll get back once we beat your bosses!" said Mickey.
"You're wasting your breath, Mickey…They escaped before you came…," said BlotToon Mickey.
"What?! You got to be kidding me?!" Oswald disappointed.
"As much as I…love to joke around…I'm afraid we're not…," said BlotToon Oswald.
"Then we came all the way here for nothing," said Ortensia.
"Not quite…Princess here…Boss battle…awaits you all," said BlotToon Ortensia.
"Hang on. Why are you telling us this information if you're on the bad guy side?" Turpley asks.
"Fun toys…Need assistance," said the three Generals.
The three Generals throw bombs at the staircase to destroy it.
"Hey, that wasn't very nice!" said Tintley.
"Good luck getting to the battlefield," said BlotToon Mickey before the Three Generals ran off.
Soon, BlotToons appeared to fight the Toonateers. Quickly, the three Toonateers prepare with their weaponry and fight them off while releasing the Guardians from their Hearts.
"Time to call in for assistance," said Ortensia, taking out the Bunny Children Whistle.
After blowing into it, the Bunny Children came through the windows and door to form a staircase to the door that leads to Stretching Room.
"Thank you, nephews and niece," said Mickey, as the Toonateers went up the Bunny Children Staircase.
"Alright, kids. Back to Dark Beauty Castle!" Oswald commanded before the Bunny Children left.
Upon reaching the Stretching Room, they find three doors with the Paintings hanging above them.
"Three doors. Which way should we go?" Gus said.
"Calling all Guardians! Lead the way!" said Tintley and Turpley.
The Guardians then arrived to show the middle door was the right way. But Mickey opens the door, a gunshot is heard, and everyone gets down for cover. They look to see the Library with books surrounding BlotToon Gaston with a red Book-Shape Heart while holding Gaston's signature hunter gun.
"BlotToon Gaston?!" Mickey said.
"What? No Pete around?" Turpley said.
When he fires his bullets at the Toonateers, Turpley creates a Thinner Shield to protect them and melt the shots away. Soon, the books surrounding him went flying toward them like birds. The Toonateers scramble for them and get away.
"Ouch! A book got my ear!" said Ortensia, with a book holding her by the pages.
"Pages off my wife's ear, book!" Oswald slaps the book off his wife.
"Tintley, to make them stop, we must throw Paint on them," said Mickey, throwing Paint on the books for them to become normal.
"On it," said Tintley, throwing Paint at the books.
"Gus, more Paint!"
"Here!" said Gus, giving the Paint Cans to Mickey and Tintley to refuel.
But when the books are turned to normal, BlotToon Gaston blasts an opening in the roof. He then super jumps into space with the flying books following him.
"He's getting away. We have to follow him," said Oswald, going underneath the opening.
With the others joining him, Mickey said, "If I'm not wrong, the kidnapped Disney Princess has to Belle. Surprisingly, her prison wasn't held in the Library. Of course, she would love to be trapped in one forever."
Just then, a possessed table picks up the Toonateers.
"Huh?" The Toonateers said.
"I thought to need some help," said Madame Leona with the other Ghosts behind her.
"Madame Leona, how did you and the Ghosts get in?" Gus said.
"The Mad Doctor lends us his Beetleworks to fight off the BlotToons. I guess he went up to the Ballroom. The table will take you there quickly. Good luck."
Soon, the table lifts the Toonateers upward. But by entering the Ballroom, they see three Generals, each holding a panic Spatter in their hands.
"It's them. But what are they doing to the Spatters?" Mickey said.
Soon, the three Generals bite on the Spatters' necks and suck up their energy like a vampire. This horrifies the Toonateers into Turpley and covers Tintley's eyes. The Spatters screamed in agony as they became pale and weak. Once the three Generals let them go, the weak Spatters fell to the ground before they melted away in passing.
After smacking his lips, BlotToon Mickey said, "Such a pity that we require…their substances for survival… We are like the vampires and… cannibals of the Blotlings…."
After he wiped his mouth, BlotToon Oswald turned to the Toonateers and said, "Oh, look. Our favorite toys… Excuse us for you having to…see our hunger go all out…."
After Tintley's eyes were uncovered, BlotToon Ortensia said while holding her closed fin to her chin, "Such savage…way to show…our hungry side..."
When she opened her green fan, Ortensia said, "Even I wouldn't sink my teeth onto food like that. You three are so heartless."
"Like we're your…Heartless versions...Oswald as Mickey's Nobody…"
"What?!" Mickey and Oswald are offended.
"Cringy game reference I ever heard," Mickey commented.
"Game? What game?" Oswald asks.
"I'll tell you later."
"I got a game for you…to play. It's called Musical Miss…" said BlotToon Mickey.
"What?"
"Our buddy, the Pipe Organ, will… play something for you to dodge…," said BlotToon Oswald.
"Ciao!" said BlotToon Ortensia.
Then flying books pick up the three Generals to a roof opening. The Pipe Organ plays "Toccata and Fugue." The pipes point toward the Toonateers and begin to fire Thinner flaming Music Notes like bullets.
"Yipe! This may take a while," Tintley screamed before shielding her friends and herself with a Paint Forcefield.
